Clean, well stocked, rarely busy, and cheap. You might save a buck or two at Stater Bros but why torment yourself. Pay attention and this is the cheapest place in town. Not trashy, either.
Shop here. It's that short and sweet. -

They send out their ads on Tuesdays and the sales start on Wednesday but good luck finding everything "on sale" actually in the store. I went there and they guy told me that several things I came in for from the ad weren't in yet and to come back in a day or two. That's complete BS - way to waste my time.
Only reason they get an extra star is because they have a recycling area in the front. -

I went to this store to "just cash a check". I am an albertsons preferred card holder and I went in here to cash a check for $50.00. The bozo at the check out line told me he couldn't just cash a check and that I needed to buy something, WHAT??? Forced sale??? I then went to Customer service, the same thing and story! The lady in Cuss-at -the-customer service was rude, impolite and I have been a Albertsons custiomer for over 50 years! i remember when they just came into California.
AVOID THIS ALBERTSONS AT ALL COSTS. BBB REVIEW PENDING AND CALIFORNIA ATTORNEY GENERAL COMPLAINT IN PROCESS OF BEING FILED!!
RUN AWAY FROM HERE FAST!!! -

There are roughly 5 grocery stores minutes away from each other and out of all of them, this is the one I go to. I love their "big relief price cuts" and it's not just on a select number of items, it's on almost everything in the store. On top of that, you get additional discounts using their preferred card! Gotta love saving money!
I've been going to the Deli lately for their Roast Beef, Turkey and Colby Cheese. The Deli employees are really friendly and they'll let you sample any of their meats, cheese and pastas so you can taste what you're getting.
I also really like their express "do it yourself" check out lines, it saves so much time, because it's quick and easy. Except when you purchase alcohol. Once you scan the bottle, you have to wait until an employee sees your ID before you can go on.
I would have given this place 5 stars if they carried my wine. They have a BIG section strictly for alcohol and it seems like they carry every alcoholic beverage known to man, except for my wine. -

This place was a madhouse this week. I just knew it was for Superbowl Sunday when kids spiraled gallon ice cream to their brother at the cart,, Shoppers ditched healthier food for the tastier junk food - like chips, wings, pizzas, beer, hot dogs - which Albertson's overstocked. Bring on the greasy, salty, sugary, and the fizzies. There were few empty shelves.
The day after Super Bowl, I was out of food again. So I headed into Albertson's again when it wasn't too busy. Strictly on a whim, I decided on a chicken wings with asparagus and yams for dinner. Stuff is fairly easy to find with their newer taller glass cases with their frozen chicken products. I grabbed a 3 lb. package of frozen chicken wings ($7.49 with a 50 cent discount for card holders. The wings were injected with a chicken broth which the marketers say adds flavor. But I say it adds water weight and is kind of a rip off. The yams were mostly heavy. Yam that are really light are are dehydrated and less fresh and sweet. ($1.99 a pound). The asparagus was fresh, the tips were turgid and smelled good, not funky ($2.50 a lb). I was in and out of there in 10 minutes. It is not the cheapest place but not too bad with an Alertson's card if you get specials.
Produce this time of the year is more expensive and lower in quality because much of it is from Mexico and farther south except the lettuces and cabbages which are usually gown in California. Melons are risky to buy. Unlike Sprouts, Albertson's here sells cut melons and pineapple by the pound. It's even more expensive that way but you can at least see, feel, and kind of smell it.
There were lots of different apples and oranges. They had some Ecuador grown heart shaped Kent mangoes last week. They're the ones with silky flesh, versus the grainy, stringy Tommy Atkins variety which is what they're selling this week. There were no yellow Ataulfo (aka "champagne" or Manila mangoes), but at $1.29 wasn't too bad. Bananas were 89 cents a pound, and apples were around $2.00.
So, I get home, then put foil around one yam into a 300 degree degree oven, put 5 frozen wings on a cookie pan lined with foil plus. An hour later, I put several asparagus spears in foil with olive oil and onion salt. So an additional hour later, it was dinner. And my cooking neither bored or made me sick tonight! Yeay! out a picture of my dinner. http://www.yelp.com/bi...
One thing this store still has is a large fried chicken and deli counter and bakery. They still have butchers and fresh seafood. They had some large king crab legs ($13 a pound) and some good looking NY-bone steaks ($7.00). It wasn't as cheap as Stater Brothers this week that were selling them for under $3. a lb. as a weekly special.
In a pinch, this store is great. But make sure you get an Albertson's card. The staff is quite helpful and friendly. This store is clean, well lighted, and generally well organized.1 Previous Review: Show all »

This Albertsons does not remove outdated food. I went here on August 31 to buy two things: eggs and english muffins. They were selling eggs with the sell by date of August 29. I then went to the bread section for my english muffins. There was only one left with the sell by date of August 30. I would avoid this Albertsons. Who knows how much more of their inventory is old? Yuck!

I like this Albertson's because it is cheap (especially with the new economy-friendly pricing), and it is large (good selection of everything!). I go here a lot because I live down the street. In the area, you have a choice between Vons, Ralph's, and this Albertson's. I suggest Albertson's!!
As a grad student, I care about price, not quality of grocery store service. Vons has much nicer staff, Ralph's is just too ridiculous and high-priced. -

Three stars because it's nothing special, just a grocery store.
I do the vast majority of my shopping here. They always have what I need, generally have things on sale, and have those automatic check-out machines so you don't have to wait in line until the old lady gets done chatting the cashier up about her cats.
Lately I have found, and this hasn't affected the stars given, that the automated check-out machines have been being grumpy with me, often demanding manager assistance.
In the end, I still shop here, but it's no better or worse than any other grocery store I've been to. -

I don't like shopping at Albertson's. I'm more of a Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Ralph's kinda girl. BUT!!!! The chicken wings are BOMB. What is it about the chicken wings? The honey wings are so good... I don't understand! Albertson's? Best chicken wings? Weird.

Their deli section was awful. The people that work there didn't seemed to know what they were doing. And their fried chicken was old and dry. Not fresh like other markets. I won't be coming back here for deli section anymore.

Yesterday, I stopped into my local Albertson's and cashed out using their self service lanes. The scanner now talks to you as you scan telling you what you bought on sale and how much you saved. That's novel.
