This place is great for three amazing reasons, and it is also called Aeriberto's:
They are better the Albertos, Taco Bell, or any of those fast food places. The reason why is that the veggies and extras inside are not as greasy as other places and it probably the second healthiest burrito you can get in Oceanside. The chicken enchiladas are great too, but get ready for some ranchero sauce!
Their prices are cheap and they are open 24 hours a day. The only other place I go for burritos is Senor Grubby's in Carsbad. That place is awesome and they have nightly beer specials too. -

ITS NOT ALBERTOS (I've sent an update to YELP)
*** The name of this establishment is:
"ERIBERTOS"
Don't go.
I won't. Ever. Again. Yuk.
After having been to this place a 2 times after my last review,
I found HAIR in BOTH dishes EACH time I went back.
( Also I paid 7 dollars for a huge burrito for my husband on the second visit, and his ALSO had hair in it, more then one strand. yuk.)
15$ down the drain both times.
What a waste, can't think about it without gagging now. yuk.yuk.yuk. -

Been visiting here since the mid-1990s.
I love this place, ordering a California Burrito before I leave US borders has been a standing tradition for me since I joined the Navy.
Your average Mexican food joint but with the same constant awesome California Mexican food flavor throughout the years.
The costumer service is ok but I don't think it should change, it adds to why I enjoy visiting.
Its tasty and cost effective! -

The valley finally has another "ertos". Eriberto's had so many glaring faults that any new Mexican fast food was probably an upgrade. Also the location and food at the old one was pretty bad too You'd think with soo many Alberto's that they would all be the same, you'd be partially right. Many things on the menu taste the same regardless of where you go, but certain key items make or break let alone Albertos or any "ertos" for that matter.
Same:
Rolled Taco's
Enchilladas
Shredded Beef Taco's
Guacamole
Salsa's
Carrots
Not the same;
Carne Asada anything
California burrito's
Chicken items
I found the carne to be fatty and greasy, the sour cream not very cold, but the tortillas excellent. I actually like getting rice in my cali, but at least they unlike Eriberto's use French fries, not potatoes.
This is listed as Alberto's, but is the Eriberto's location. My review should be for the new one on college in the Fresh & Easy shopping center. -

I remember coming here as a Marine back in the early millennium to get my carne asada burrito fix. Returned many years later now as a DoD contractor to find the grub still delicious. Their customer service could use some tweaking however. The cashier taking my money had no customer service skills whatsoever. No smile, no thank you, no anything. (Well, f*ck you too then!)

If you are ever in the mood for greasy Mexican take-out, this is the place to go.
My wife and I love their crispy tacos, and like another reviewer said, their carne asada fries are really stinkin' good. Buyer beware, when I say greasy, I mean GREASY. Make sure you have peptobismol or tums on hand to help with the aftermath, but it's worth it, every time. -

The have a pretty good California burrito. The food is decent for for fast food and it is pretty big portions. The inside is more than run down, and i would highly advise not to go there after the sun sets. The cast of characters that come out don't really make you feel welcome. Put if your in the area during the day looking for cheap that is gonna fill you up, give it a shot.

I am very sad to report this place was a huge disappointment. I want to think that maybe we just caught them on an off night, but I'm not sure I could bring myself to go back! Bummer. I really wanted to like this place.
I'll just break it down for you:
- The chips were literally sitting in a pool of grease in the bottom of the container.
- Red salsa sucked.
- Beans had NO flavor. I mean zero. How is that possible? They tasted like air.
- Rice tasted like it had been cooked in dirty dishwater.
- Adobada was marginal... and sadly the second best part of the meal.
- Even sadder, the best part of the meal was the green salsa. Seriously.
- The carne asada was just OK. After eating about 3/4 of the burrito my husband realized it was dripping in grease and squeezed out about 2 tablespoons of grease from it. He then proceeded to wrap it up and throw it in the trash. Now, when he no desire to finish a carne asada burrito - that is saying a lot. Just trust me here.
MAYBE... just maybe... if I was really drunk this might be a good place to eat.
Or maybe they just forgot to stock the kitchen with spices for the night.
I don't know. -

I was expecting the best Carne Asada Fries.
=\ Not really happening here. The guac looked really gross. Like the green goo on Nickelodean. The fries got soggy real fast and the meat was just ok.
Kind of disappointed. -

I used to come here for the crispy beef tacos. I was in there one day and noticed 2 young Marines chowing down on something I'd never seen before. I asked them what they were eating and they replied "Carne Asada Fries Sir, they'll change your life"
They didn't change my life (aside from gaining a pound every time I eat them) but they're freaking amazing!
Crispy fries, covered in melted cheese, covered with Carne Asada, covered with guacamole and sour cream. mmmmmmmmmmm -

Food is terrible and beware of price gouging. You will notice a change in price for previous ordered items if you been here enough times. I won't eat at this wack excuse of a Mexican Restaurant! o0o

I have been eating here since 1996. I have to say though that this place is know worldwide as "Alberto's" but is really "Eriberto's".
I just stopped there over the weekend and the Carne Asada Burritos have not changed a bit. They are still the best San Diego style Carne Asada burrito out there. I will travel thousands of miles to get this burrito. Unfortunately the rolled tacos have taken a dive in taste and quality. -

Albertos is usually a hole in the wall type but the food is good for me.

CARNE ASADA FRIES is the bomb diggidy in this restaurant. I usually order it to go, and believe me, the carne asada fries fills up the whole styrofoam box (and yes, the box is pretty big). Bit pricey, but for me, one carne asada fries is enough to fill me up throughout the whole day.

Yo, this is a throwback to my Marine Corps daze, it helped pack on the pounds. A friend introduced me to this spot which has locals all over San Diego, now watcha cause there are Alberto's in the L.A. area but I don't believe they are related. Anyways if you find yourself in the area I recommend the Carne Asada Fries, yup you heard right, now I can't even begin to describe all the ingredients in this dish just know your in for a treat....and you won't finish it cause there's just too much, there great to share. Oh, and clear an hour in your schedule for that DUMP that will soon follow........HOLY FRIJOLE!

Great rolled tacos with beans, bean and cheese burritos, and nachos with beef.

When we're in the mood for some tacos, we try Eriberto's/Alberto's. The regular shredded beef tacos are crunchy and delicious. The carne asada tacos are huge and the guacamole on them is home made. I also like the fish tacos but always ask for NO MAYO on them. (Mayo-- shudder!) I'm not sure why other reviewers are surprised to find grease in their takeout boxes. Mexican fast food is not exactly South Beach Diet material. Grease=flavor! Also, since the taco shells are deep fried to get them, well, crispy, it seems logical that they would be greasy. I've also found the service to be polite and fast, and the turnaround time for takeout is asap quick! So, if you want inexpensive, authenic, tasty tacos, try Eriberto's/Alberto's!
