I love 'Bertos. Those of you from SoCal will know what I mean by 'Bertos because man there are a bunch of them with slightly different names (Albertos, Eduardos, Manulitos, heck I'm sure there a bunch of other ones I don't know about) but the same basic menu - can anyone explain the 'Bertos business structure to me?
So there are a lot of good things on the menu but honestly you only need to order one thing: the Carne Asada burrito. If you order anything else you're doing it wrong. It's a huge, greasy monstrosity filled solid with steak, guac and salsa. It's so delicious and so wrong for you. Careful when eating this thing too because it likes to explode out the bottom and ruin your clothes.
It's perfect for hangovers, diets, weddings, Easter Sunday and every other occasion. For me it was generally "There's nothing else open except Bertos and Dennys!!!" -
Review from Frank S.
Carne asada super fries while yummy were a bit expensive and the portions didn't reflect the price. We had to order 1 carne asada taco each afterwards to feel satisfied. Those tacos aren't cheap either but they were super loaded and more than what we needed.
I suppose if you're coming here, it's really late and you're probably drunk so I guess you're not too concerned with the prices. -

Open 24 hours? This place gives Del Taco and Taco Bell a run for their money.
Although they say it's "Authentic Mexican Food" I wouldn't really get your hopes up. This place is a great when you want some late night food or even breakfast. To be honest I never came here during the day time because there's so many other places open. However, what I usually get here late at night is the Super Fries without beans, which is also known as the California Fries or Carne Asada Fries. If i'm feeling in a french fries and burrito mood I just order the California Burrito which contains almost everything a Super Fries has in burrito form. But if I just want a normal burrito it ultimately comes down to All Beef Carne Asada Burrito or the Breakfast Burrito. You can't really go wrong with either.
I would've gave this place a 5/5 but there are other places around town to go at 2 in the morning. This restaurant wasn't really the first place to come to mind when I think late night food in the San Gabriel Valley either. Another factor was that their food lacks consistency, one day your fries will be crispy and another it will be a bit soggy, or one day your burrito is packed full of meat and another it will be drenched in guacamole overwhelming the burrito. -

open 24 hours. Carne asada fries/nachos + extra meat.
So good. -

What can I say about this place that haven't been said?
What's the good? 24 hour drive thru service! Mexican food at my fingertips 24/7?!?! woot!!!! Cheap and good food here, especially a night of debauchery!
My favorites/recommendations: Machaca Burrito - shredded beef, egg, and onion NOM!!!!. Carne asada nachos. If they have fries, get the carne asada fries, loaded with everything. I'm not sure if I had anything terrible from here.
Oh don't forget about the extra green sauce, a personal favorite of mine!Listed in: Loves to nom!!!

It was really unbelievable today. I had to wait 23 minutes at the drive thru for 2 items. I gave this place so many chances. There were other times where my sister and I found hair in our food. I'm not coming back here ever again. There is also this one lady that wear gloves. She handles money and food with the same pair of gloves. It's unsanitary.

I can't believe I've lived this long without ever tasting the delicious that is Alberto's. My life changed last night.
After a night of clubbing, my girlfriends wanted some Mexican food so we came here. I went with my safest order, Chicken Burrito and while it was good (pretty similar to Alfredo's Chicken Burrito), it couldn't compare to the Carne Asada Fries. They were orgasmic. Then I found out you could get the Carne Asada Fries in a BURRITO. What what in the butt? I love french fries and I love love love tortilla, so it's the best of both worlds.
So tonight for dinner, I went back (in less than 24 hours) by myself and ordered a California Burrito, with a side of Pico de Gallo and Guacamole, which totalled to $6. Kind of pricey compared to other authentic Mexican joints, but it was well worth it.
Fucking delicious. And it's open 24 hours! -

Their carne asada fries are as good as they can get in this neck of the woods! It almost rivals SD! :D A bit pricey compared to other Mexican joints ($7.94), but you get a heaping take-out box of fries that you can share with 2 or more people! If you're not in the mood to share, you can get the small order for $4.10! The fries come with everything (carne asada, guacamole, cheese, sour cream, refried beans)! yummmmmmy!! Plus is that it's opened 24 hours ;) great for all you drunkies that need yummy sobering foood!
*EDIT EDIT EDIT* WTF I JUST FOUND OUT THEIR SMALLS ARE THE SAME SIZE AS THEIR LARGE SUPER FRIES (CARNE ASADA FRIES), EXCEPT FOR HALF THE PRICE. GO GO GO ($4.50 w/ tax for a huge takeout box of carne asada fries? yes pleasee! one box lasts two sittings!)
EDIT PART II: Unfortunately they raised the price of their small orders to $5.50 :( But it's still more than enough for two meals/people!

Burritos are huge. HUGE! And they're four bucks.
Carne asada nachos are huge. Huge! And they're...more than four bucks. Split amongst a group of four, and we still couldn't finish.
Alberto's is great. Affordable, and you're liable to skip a meal afterwards. Service is slow, because the cashier does double duty with the drive-thru.

Gross Mexican food. I only gave it 2 stars because it's down the street and it's still open when I get off work at midnight. Stay away from this one...

The food really hits the spot for late-night and/or post-drinking munchies. I like the Super Fries! Enjoyed the chorizo burrito as well, though it could've used more egg or maybe some potatoes to balance it out more. Also, the cheese was all on one side, separated from the chorizo by the tortilla, and didn't get a chance to melt.
Still, the fact that they're open late at night means I wouldn't have anything to complain about if it hadn't been for the fact that they forgot about the order of both myself and another customer who was in there at the same time. One of the cashiers was sweet about it, apologized and upgraded the size of my drink as compensation, but the other one just straight up ignored me. Language barrier, maybe? I'm grateful for the lady who did try to help me out, though.
All-in-all not bad. -
Review from Tracy S.
I went to college in Riverside, the city that made me fall in love with Mexican food (used to hate it). Since then, I have yet to find a place that offers the same flavor and satisfaction. Alberto comes very VERY close to the type of Mexican food I had out in Riverside.
Their tacos are legit sizes--none of that dinky bite size crap you get at King Taco. Burritos are of appropriate size as well. What stands out is their tacos & burritos comes with PICO DI GALLO, which is a god damn must!! Their meat is also much much more flavorful and tender. The meat by itself is amazing. Some people say it's salty, but I taste FLAVOR.
Their Carne Asada Fries on the other hand is a little subpar in my opinion. I don't think they put enough toppings. Stick with the tacos/burritos. -

Just bought an asada taco and carnita taco, the protion is huge for the money, In fact it is too huge that one totilla can't hold it at all, I end up eating both of them using a folk, as the meat just keep falling out of the taco itself.

It's weird. I like this location, and then i hate it at the same time. It's super hot inside, which blows. buuuut the location is pretty big, so if it gets packed, there's always a seat.
For some reason, I noticed that the carne asada itself here isn't as plentiful as the Pomona location I normally go to.
Buuuut I thiiiiink the prices here are a bit cheaper! -

South El Monte, CA
Ok, I have a vendetta about this place with the review I'm about to write. I remember going here around 8pm on a work night, I was in the mood for something different that wasn't a fast food franchise. So I opted for here, I wanted something that would be quick and tasty and this fit the bill.
So what happens when I get here? There was like 3-4 cars ahead of, which is fine. I put in my order for a burrito with only Asada and Rice. Not to difficult right? 15 minutes later, waiting in the drive through still waiting on the food, I was furious. I literally said, if on the 16th minute, I don't get my food, I'm just going to leave and not pay. It took me like 10 minutes to get to the window and what does the cashier/server ask me? What I ordered. Seriously? I ordered something that had only TWO ingredients (three if you count the tortilla) and in all that time YOU STILL HADN'T MADE IT? ARRRGH. I was so angry. Something that I was hoping to take me like 10-15 minute round trip ended up taking me closer to 30-40 minutes, not including eating. So much for saving time. And to top it off, the cashier woman was moving so slow. All she had to handle was the customers in the drive through and the one single customer in the store and she was moving around like a sloth. My drink wasn't even ready by the time I pulled up to the window. Seriously, wtf.
I like Alberto's, their meat has a flavor that's really consistent but making me waste so much time was unforgivable. Bad thing about living in South El Monte is that there is Alberts, Alberto's and Alfredo's, they all sell mexican food and all the food I order from them tastes about the same and all basically the same logo / color scheme. Its freaking confusing. I've lived here 12 years now and I still sometimes have trouble discerning them from one another. -

The second closest Alberto's to where I live. I like this one better than the one on Azusa since the service seems to be a little bit better.
The establishment is pretty big, although the place looks a bit beat up and worn out.
The prices seem slightly higher than I remember seeing them near Pomona, but maybe that's just me or a locational thing. Anyways, the food here is still delicious.
Apparently the Super Fries come in Large and Regular. I should mention that Regular is still pretty damn big, and like 2 dollars cheaper.
This place rules. -
Review from David W.
I've been trying to find San Diego Carne Asada Fries in LA and this is as close as it gets.
They call it the super fries on the menu. The portion size is huge and they give you so much.
The quality is hit or miss though. The first night I had was amazing, but I came back in another week, it was "ehh"....
Still, this is as close as it gets to what I had in SD so far. =) -

I'm sorry, but if you don't know how to make good beans you should not own a Mexican restaurant. This place does NOT know how to make beans. I always confuse Albertos with Alberts and this time we choose to go to Albertos, I love Alberts they make an excellent bean, cheese, and rice burrito. So I figured Albertos should too since they have the same logo, practically the same name, and same food items. So I asked the server to give me a bean and cheese burrito with rice. And she tells me they don't sell bean and cheese burritos, only bean burritos, it would be an extra 50 cents for cheese and rice. I looked at her dumbfounded, I have never heard of a place selling bean burritos. At which point she realized I'm stunned she rudely asks if i think 50 cents is expensive. I then tell her its not about the 50 cents, its just I have never heard of a place selling bean burritos. So she charges us for the burrito, an asada burrito, two enchiladas, and an horchata. The horchata was so sweet, i could not drink it. Once I receive my burrito I take a bite, at which point I realize their beans are awful. They were gray colored instead of brown, they were a bit undercooked when they decided to puree them so they were lumpy chunks of tough beans. The burrito was not even hot, it did not melt the cheese. To think they have the audacity to sell a bean burrito when their beans are so gross. I would not return to Albertos, just not they way Mexican food should be.

More like 1/4 star.....
Never. Again. "Super" Nachos. My Ass.
It is a sheer debacle that I have to wait 15 minutes in the drive through to take home a container of oily soaked ass chips with A TEASPOON of cheese on top and have to top the shit (please forgive my language) with my own cheese!!!!
I now only trust Armando's with my nacho addiction. -

So I've been going to Alberto's for years now, but this was the first time that I've been to this particular one. We were coming from Hollywood and my family from the ATL, Indiana and the Bay Area all wanted Alberto's, so we Yelped the closest one on our way to a family party and ended up here. They all LOVED it! From the Super Fries and Nachos to the Carne Asada Quesadilla!
The only reason why I didn't give it a 4 stars was because it was uncomfortably hot inside. We basically rushed through our meal because it was unbearable. Other than that...food was cheap, great and just like any other Alberto's. -
Review from Annie L.
Monterey Park, CA
When I want Mexican food I either come here or Chipotle. But there is one thing they have that Chipotle doesn't and that is the Super Fries (carne asada fries) ! These are definitely a calorie bomb for sure but they are so good!!!!!!! The fries has carne asada sour cream, guacamole and bean all in one box. I suggest that you don't eat them more than once every three months because you are basically asking for a heart attack.
Service is good. Food is done very quickly. The only thing I don't like about this place is the location. There were creepers last time I went at night with my 3 other friends. For 3 girls and 1 guy I didn't feel safe to be eating there or even being in the area at 9 PM.
Final Verdict: I will return for the Super Fries and California Burrito but definitely before sunset, because I am really too freak out by the last incident I encountered there. -

Been coming here since high school.
Alberto's shaped the way I view mexican food. Although my mexican friends tell me that Alberto's isn't real mexican food, to me, It's a diamond in the rough. If I find one, in ANY city, I'll have to stop by. Here's why:
Carne Asada Burrito, free chips, salsa bar, and Jarritos.
all for under $10 and I'll be full for days. Also open late nights. Especially good food for sobering up. Try the Carne Asada fries.
Here's a tip for you newbies. Instead of ordering the carne asada burrito by itself, order the 2 burrito meal. It's an extra dollar or two but you get a nice side of beans and rice and an extra burrito!
Downside: The drive through is inconsistent. Sometimes I'll go in and out like a champ and others like a chimp- Impatient, angry, and throwing my poop at people. Ohhh-Ohh AHHH-AHH!!! -

Review from Chuck S.
Industry, CA
One of few unhealthy fast food places I go to, mainly because it's just so close to my house, and they're open 24 hours. Why come? Best bargain for a burrito, pound for pound. I only order 3-4 different things here: carne asada burrito, carne asada Super NACHOS, 3 rolled tacos with guacamole, and if I'm feeling parched... some nice, cool horchata.
Also, the salsa bar is great, unlike that cheap-o King Taco. King Taco? More like the king of a very small mountain. King taco doesn't bless his subjects with self-serve tortilla chips, carrots, jalapeno's, lime slices, and salsas. Alberto's chips aren't the best by any means, as they're kind of oily, and time sensitive to becoming stale. Still, it's a nice perk for the starving college student.
The burrito will cost you in the neighborhood of $4. It's all-meat inside. They get it. Mr. Alberto knows. He knows that the tortilla alone is enough carbs. Why stuff it with beans and rice, and tax your digestive system even more? No comrade, the inside is nothin' but juicy carne asada, beef, dipped in guacamole. Enough protein for the body builder on a budget. Be careful if you're worried about sodium intake, for the amount is merciless.
Once in a while, I have a craving to pound my appetite out with carne asada super nachos. The same carne asada filling for the burrito is topped onto their chips, along with guacamole, shredded cheese, and sour cream, and bean dip. Eat it right away! If you don't, the dip and all the fixin' will soften up the chips into mush, losing that satisfying crunch. I rarely finish the whole thing on my own... I don't always like to indulge heavy taste, just to sacrifice myself to a coma crash...... in which case, I give the rest of the carne asada super nachos to my dog. He looks so happy when eating it!
There is an available bathroom, and plenty of seating. Sometimes it's clean, sometimes a mess is left on the table, it just depends on the time of day you go in. Demographics are either hispanic, or young adult Asians.Listed in: Operation Snake Eater:Survival

LEGIT!
This is the spot!
I use to come here before and after every show.
The food here is always on point!
The burritos are big and meaty. Rarely do I get skimped out.
And the super fries are really bomb too. I don't recommend
any one eating that solo.
What I like most about this place is their little sauce bar
with all the condiments and unlimited sauces.
I'm the type that likes to drown my burrito in hot sauce.
They dont seem to mind here when you over-indulge.
They have free chip and dip here, which is always a plus.
And they also have the big ass glass bottled Coke.
So bomb! I rarely taste coke like that Good. Proper fresh soda pop taste.
This spot is always open. Good for you late-night faded-asses!
Never a disappointing visit. -

I'm a big fan of mexican food. Back in riverside I was in love with Santanas and back home Molca Salsa was the spot.
After clubbing this is usually where a bunch of drunk people go to sober up. First off it is off of Rosemead and it's open pretty late or maybe even 24/7. I was there around 3-4am.
Got the carne asada burrito and it might just be that when I finally got home and ate it, it was cold already... but it really wasn't that good... the veges tasted raw... and the cheese was weird... the only thing that kinda surprised me was the french fries in the carne asada burrito. That was kinda a nice touch.
Service was incredibly slow... I don't know what was going on, people in the drive through were turning off the car because of how slow it is. I'll pass.... -

You have to eat either the Carne Asada tacos, Bean and Cheese Burrito, or the Carne Asada Fries. OMG way too good!! The prices are fair but they dont accept credit cards so bring your cash.
Oh and I forgot to mention that they have a drive through for those late night taco runs! -
Review from Steven T.
You get an A for being open 24 hours, and that doesn't just mean drive thru. The actual dining area is open 24 hours as well! Came in during the wee hours of the night... or morning? looking for some carne asada fries. Besides one other table being occupied there was only us inside. The lady promptly took our order, but I could have sworn it took forever for the food to come out.
On to the food...
Settled on two beef tacos and the carne asada fries. I usually finish my food, but OMG were the fries salty. Rather, the beef was so salty I could barely stand to eat a quarter of it. It was as if they marinated the beef in salt and then accidentally spilled the entire salt shaker on it afterward. Also, wish we had known the tacos were fried/hard tacos. Guess that is kind of our bad, but it would have been nice to have known or given a choice between soft or hard. I thought "traditional" was soft? oh well. -

Super fries & carne asada burritos. Yum
This place is open 24/7 so whenever I have the craving for Mexican food, it's right there. Just a 10 minute walk! Exercise, then get my Mexican food, then exercise some more! :) -

Carne Asada Burrito! Lots of meat! If you're not a die hard carnivore, you can ask for rice in the burrito to add more flavor - no extra cost.
I normally ask for no beans, no cheese, guacamole on the side, and rice in the burrito. All this for five bucks minus six cents. Take it or leave it. The burrito is pretty fat. Fat enough for a petite girl like me to have a hard time breathing after scarfing it down - fat enough for a regular sized boy to be fairly full for the night.
Expect to wait in the drive thru line for at least 35 minutes if you just so happen to come up behind a GMC SUV. -
Review from Teresa R.
Dear Alberto's,
I feel like my first experience with you does not do you justice. I mean, though you got my order wrong the first try, I appreciate you fixing it quickly and without an attitude. BUT, the fact that you let bums loiter in your establishment asking your patrons for donations takes you down a notch in my book. Perhaps in the future I will enjoy your tasty chicken tacos on the go to avoid this situation.
Don't worry, because of your yummy, huge portions and inexpensive prices, I will be back. I do suggest kicking those bums to the curb. This would make the experience of fellow patrons a little, OK a lot, more enjoyable.

I've been here twice and so far I would have to say that I'm only a fan of their carne asada fries! Super YUMMMMM!! I still can't get over the fact of how good it was. $7.94 for a large plate of carne asada fries was definitely worth it :) It's enough to feed more than 2 people.
Plus there's a drive thru so that's very convenient.
The only con I have for Alberto's is their salty meat? or "beef"? or whatever it is.. Yucky. -

My favorite Alberto's to go to in the middle of the night! They have really really good portions here and I love that you can eat in here =)
Order the mini fries with pico de gallo & onions = $6 to share with two people (3 bucks each or less?) ! so filling, so good. (just about the same size as the super fries!)
There's radishes, limes, free tortilla chips, salsa, & what not on the side for you to take with your order ! (that's why you don't order the super nachos here).
However, service is kinda slow starting from maybe 11PM.. I think there's one cook and they have a drive through window too, so maybe that's why it's slower =( that's why I took off a star.
Yay! I'm a fan. -

Los Angeles, CA
So the food here is yummy, but the service here is not too appealing, for my Asian American self that is. I always get the carne asada mini fries, carne asada burrito, or carne asada tostada with horchata. The food is good, cheap, and filling. They have a drive through and they're open 24/7 so what's not to like about Albertos.. they don't seem to like Asians!
It's weird to say, but I still come here despite the difference in service I receive compared to someone of a Hispanic/Latin descent. I used to think it was a fluke or something, but my friends feel the same way about it too. Generally I would think people don't care who their customers are as long as they're making bank, but this place does. I mean the service isn't THAT bad, there's just a longer wait..
One time, there was no one inside the restaurant and no one in the drive through, but they had me wait 20 minutes before taking my order. After that, a car drives up behind me and it was clearly someone of Hispanic or Latino descent as they were blasting their music in Spanish - they got their order taken immediately. I've learned the service I get here is not a fluke; multiple experiences confirm that.
By the way, the chips by the salsa bar are stale and may have been home to insects prior to your arrival, be careful of what you don't see! -

I love this place! I come here pretty often with my friends that one of the workers recognizes me now.
I have tried most of the burritos here and not many complaints. The thing i can complain about is that carnitas and beef burritos can be dry at times. My friends usually get the California burritos or breakfast burritos. All the burritos are under five dollars! Every once in a while when I am really hungry, I will order the combination plate #6 which is a beef burrito with two enchiladas, refried beans, and rice.
I also like how they have a torilla chips, limes, radishes and sauces bar on the side for convenience. -

3 words that will change your life forever:
Carne Asada Fries
Another awesome place to stuff you face after a long night of drinking. There is nothing that really stands out on the inside or outside visually, but the carne asada fries will leave you weak in the knees and NOT call you back the next morning. No no...they don't wait that long. Instead they make a hasty exit out the back door right before you go to sleep.
You have been warned.
The only thing that can eclipse the CAF are CHORIZO fries. Yes you read that right. They only did it one night out of the couple dozen times I've been there. All the awesomeness of regular CAF but with chorizo & eggs instead of the carne asada.
This box of unhealthy deliciousness will be finished faster than the first time you had sex. It's THAT good.
