Carne Asada fries are good.  They're better than San Diego carne asada fries.

Putting everything else aside, however, what is the perfect compliment to the California Burrito?

Cheese and Guacamole Fries.  Not only do you save 3 bucks, but it's the perfect compliment.

I've been coming here since the 7th grade, and this is the perfect combination from the whole menu.  If you want quick drive-through, go through the left lane instead of the right. People in drive through get their food way faster than if you park and try to order at the window.

Hint: Every burrito is a heart attack in a tortilla.

Carne asada fries. I can't really say more than that.

I've tried a good number of carne asada fries from all over Socal and none have surpassed Albertaco's. Thin crispy fries, guac, sour cream, shredded cheese and of course, carne asada. Can't go wrong. Add some of their hot sauce and it's amazing.

Horchata is pretty good (and cheap!) too, especially paired w the fries.. sweet and cold against savory and hot, excellent combo.

I might be a little biased since this is the carne asada fries place I associate with home, but I've brought friends here multiple times and they have all loved it, even after eating carne asada fries from another place the night before. Give those fries a shot; you won't be sorry.

I'm a miser.  But everything is cheap anyways, but a fish burrito(if you're into that stuff) and fries with guac and cheese is close to $6.  But that's just me.

California burrito is good. Carne asada burrito is a little too salty for my taste. Their tortas are alright.

On a separate note, do people actually get the entrees and plates?

I just got the Carnitas Burrito. Very flavorsome, just a little dry.
The service was reasonable and the staff was very polite.
    Most likely, I might return.

I'm pretty sure every one knows that the California/Colarado Burritos and their carne asada fries are popular. So I'm not going to go into details about those.. It's definitely good, more like comfort food and It'll fill you up for a decent price. This place hits the spot, even when I'm tired of cali burritos or the fries. MMM, the taquitos with guacamole is pretty good. :) I love the fish burritos w/o the tomatoes. It's so bomb! It's kinna like fish sticks rolled up with cabbages and sauce. But it always satisfies me. And now I'm craving it as I'm typing this -_-  Last time I went that's what I ordered w/ cheese fries. Around like $6 and I couldn't even finish it. o_-

ps. I recommend paying with cash, but if you don't mind the debit card fee of $0.75 then pay with that. However, they don't accept credit cards.

Honesty, when I went here I really was expecting A LOT more!!!! After reading through various reviews I really expected it to be sooooo great. I am from San Diego, CA (home of the VERY BEST mexican food restaurants) so by the ways the reviews sounded I thought it would taste JUST LIKE in San Diego....I was WRONG! The carne asada fries weren't bad but maybe my expectations were just too high. My Jamaica was VERY watery. Service was fast.. The man in the window was very rushed even though there were no other cars behind me. The intercom was CRAP you couldn't understand ONE word, just static. I'm disappointed but I guess this is as good as it gets unless I go closer to the border.

Oh yeah, one more thing, the salsa rojo tasted more like tomato sauce I had to actually come home and use Tapatio, so if you're looking for spicy this isnt it.

Cold burritos... =/ My buddy was raving to me about the California Burrito here. I got here today at around 130pm. After the big lunch rush. It had a few people in line. They had a good menu of a lot of Mexican food to choose from. I went with what my friend told me to get. The California Burrito.

The california burrito came with sour cream, carne asada, cheese, fries, hot sauce, wrapped inside a tortilla. Everything was cold. The cheese wasn't melted. The meat felt like it sat out for awhile. This is a major turn off. One of the worst experiences I've ever had.

I came here on a weekday afternoon with Helen Y. and Joshua T. It was my first time, and they insisted that I have the infamous Carne Asada fries. I must admit, it was pretty darn good. Since I'm not a big fan of beans, it was nice to have carne asada fries that didn't have too many beans or too much cheese.

At the time we went, there was no line, and it was pretty much dead, but by the time we were heading out, there was definitely a crowd slowly making its way into the vicinity.  With only outdoor seating (and very limited at that), I definitely lucked out!

Overall, great Carne Asada Fries, but since it was my first time, I'll definitely be on the hunt for more!

on a mission to find the next 'king tacos' around neighborhood
if have no expectations flavor was much better then ne other competitors around area (competitors w/similar names)
had carne asada fries w carne asada tacos cooling off w horchata
taco was more of burrito size
horchata needs to b tried w light or no ice to truly taste it nxt time
fries were just ok not super duper like othrs have posted about
2 stars for having best best flavor so far n 1 more for its bountiful portion
(if updated version allows 1/2 stars would add that much more for flavor but overall didnt want to round up)
2 missing for how cold my food was when ate it frm drive thru ordr only 5 mins latr
n still keeping 'king tacos' king of all tacos
    nxt stop 'taco san pedro'
but may stop by again for horchata w easy ice or none n try cali burritos

Hands down the best Carne Asada fries I have had.   The crispy fries complimenting the cool guacamole and melted cheese, the cream cheese and salsa accentuating the salty carne asada meat, all of it coming together in a harmonious flavor after adding their hot sauce.  Declicious!  Their carnitas burrito was pretty bomb too.  It can get a little crowded but they make their food pretty quickly.

This place is so perfect if you are looking to spoil yourselef (calorie-wise).  Forst Bites ice cream place is right next door for some desert!

Food from Albertaco's can definitely make my day.

Carne asada fries with guacamole is so good.
Breakfast burrito and California burrito is so good.

The price is cheap. Food quality and freshness is better than average.
Drive-thru can be a while at busy times, but it's speeded up because of two drive-thru windows.

This is the place right here!!

Almost every time I go to 24 hour fitness (less than 10 ins from here), I stop by this cheap drive thru joint and get carne asada burrito with everything in it w/ sour cream & guacamole .... and crispy "jalapeno candy" on the side (small jalapeno) AND some tapatiooo.  Hell yeah!!  I put back everything that I freakin' worked hard for, LOL.  I miss those days!!!

I have a tendency to rate fast food mexican joints like this 4 stars because there is always something wrong with em.

This place lacks efficiency in terms of getting the food to you as quick as other mexican places. I've been at these kind of places where I order and within 3-5 minutes... I'll get my food regardless of how many people are in front of me. There was one person ahead of me and it took 10 minutes to get my pollo asado!! For a place that has TWO drive thru windows and a stand... they are NOT efficient.

Sorry to rant... haha! the food here was pretty nice though. I had the pollo asado and that was awesome. I recomend on passing on the Carne asada. It is VERY DRY and lacks taste. On the other hand, the pollo is bursting with taste and is very juicy.

Lemme know how it goes! I'm coming back for sure!

After reading all the reviews I had to give this place a shot and all in all, it's ok.  The food isn't bad, but I wouldn't say it's the best place either.

Everything was actually pretty average.  With all the raves about the carne asada fries of course I tried them.  They were a bit, plain.  I guess it really all comes down to how you like your fries served up.  I like them fully loaded with pico de gallo, beans, sour cream, guac, extra cheese, so when i asked for everything i didn't realize it wouldn't come with "everything" (they did put a lot of sour cream, so that was a bonus just cause i love that stuff), but like i said it all depends on how you want your fries.

crispy chicken tacos, taquitos, fish tacos (not too good, but decent sized if that helps), carne asada burrito, all just...ok even borderline "meh."

i can't really say too much about this place that'll put it over the top, except it is open late.  which is good if you got a craving for mexican food late at night.  also, the 2 drive thru lanes are convenient (just remember it's one of those places where one of the lanes opens on the passenger side, just keep that in mind).

they are nice and they are fast so that's really what puts this place at a 3 as opposed to a 2.  good service and far as a can tell cleaner than some places so that's good.

would i go again?  i would, but that's just because if i'm local, hungry as heck,  and want this type of stuff i'll stop by, but honestly...if i really wanted good mexican food like this, and didn't mind driving, i'd go somewhere else.

If you want to gain like 5 lbs, you definitely should take a trip to Albertacos in Cypress. I feel like i weigh a million pounds after eating here, so I don't know how my boyfriend comes here at midnight and just chows without heartburn.

I have only had two things on their menu here: California burrito and Carne Asada Fries.

The California burrito has to be my favorite burrito ever. I will definitely not be going anywhere else for burritos (unless it be Taco Bell for a quick bite, for this place is out of my way). The California burrito is pretty much anything in Carne Asada Fries, but in burrito form.

Carne Asada fries at Alerto's are definitely famous in my area, but the fries here at Albertaco's is definitely so much better and for how much they give you it is definitely worth the 7-8 bucks for the meal. It would take me 4 separate meals to finish the whole thing.

Not located in an area where I would want to hang out, especially late at night, but definitely worth the drive for some good mexican food since It is one of my favorites!

Haven't been here in forever but we used to come here all the time in HS. For increasingly overpriced (they keep upping their prices over the years!) heart attack on a plate, Albertaco's is the place to go.

A few tips is that they're not open 24 hrs anymore -- they close a little past midnight now. Their portions are enough to feed 2-3. It's a little bit under $10 per order. They have some outdoor seating but very limited and kinda sketch at night. You might need to go to the restroom after eating - heavy load. Other than that, it's a unique Mexican store in good ol' Cypress, CA!

If you're looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant...This is NOT it. However, if you're feeling for some greasy, fat, delicious comfort food, you've come to the right place!

This specific Albertaco's has and always will be the hype. They're open early and close late so it's the perfect drunkies (munchies for drunks). Although a couple of their staff members are a little bit on the creepy side...they hook it up! For such a low price, you get a HUGE portion. Considering the fact that I'm a health freak...I normally refuse to eat do-the-body-no-good kinda foods. BUT, Albertaco's is a constant craving and a little cheat of mine. It hits the spot EVERYTIME!

Hands down, this is the BEST place to get carne asada fries :D

I have had carne asada fries from many places and I prefer skinny fries over fat fries and I don't like having beans in my carne asada fries either. When there are beans in it, it just all tastes like mush. They have the BEST red hot sauce ever. Trust me when I tell you that it is different from all the other Mexican food joints I have ever gone to. I have also tried their California Burrito which is basically like having carne asada fries in burrito form, but without the guacamole. The tortilla was toasted and it just made it even better. I would suggest to ask for guacamole in the burrito to help cut out some of the saltiness.
Even though this Albertaco's is 15 minutes away from me, it is definitely worth it :)

Mmmmm how I miss delicious (and cheap) Mexican food!  I got two tacos and they were freakin' HUGE-with tons of salsa, meat, etc etc.  Just one taco was enough to fill me up for lunch!

They also have two lines for the drive thru-so go to the left (no one went that way!).

What does one say about the food at Albertacos besides heavenly goodness?  Its like there's a party in your mouth, and everyone is invited.  If I was only rating this place for the food only, I would probably give it 5 and a half stars.  Yeah, 5 and a half.  My favorites would probably be:

    1) Carne asada fries (mine with pico de gallo and carnitas on top. Yeah, fatass)
    - You do not come to Albertacos without buying this or consider buying it.  There is a reason why the carne asada fries are mentioned all throughout the reviews for this place.

    2) California Burrito
    - carne asada, fries, sour cream, cheese all rolled into a warm tortilla. I think of it as the carne asada fries you eat with your hands. Pour some hot sauce and devour.

    3) 3 taquitos.
    - Its cheap, there's three of them, and they dump so much sour cream and guacamole on them, its enough to feed a family of nine.

Now for the reasons that I took away a star:

    1) Outdoor seating
     - It can get annoying sometimes.  Yeah, the weather is fairly decent around here, but lets face it, everyone raids this place at night time, when its cold.

    2) The bathrooms that do not exist (But really do)
    - I often forget that this place actually has a bathroom, I just forget more than 98% of the time, mostly because I'm sitting outside and the bathroom is nowhere to be seen!  They exist at the back of the building.  However, I am unsure as to the cleanliness of the bathroom (but honestly, any public bathroom), so I would rather believe that the bathroom is still imaginary at this point and use the one at home.

    3) The drive-thru speaker boxes.
    - Those damn red speaker boxes.  Here I am ready to order, I roll up to the speakerbox, nothing happens, and then the static kicks in with a voice that goes "errrrrrr".  What?  One such as myself can only assume that he said "Can I take your order?" or something.  They say it so fast, I swear!  And when I am giving my order, I have to rely on good faith that they are getting everything down that you asked for because those damn red speaker boxes are just so untrustworthy!  And when you're finished they say, "errrrrrrr" which I can only assume was "anything else?" and when you say no, they say "errrrrrrr" one last time, which is when I stare at the speaker box and think to  myself, "Did he just say thank you?  Am I done? Nothing is happening so I must be done right?  I'm... just gonna drive up now."

    4) The drive-thru lane next to the tables
    - I guess its really more of a love-hate relationship with this drive-thru lane.  Its great that this place has two drive-thru lanes, honestly!  It really helps to cut down on the amount of traffic this place generates.  But mostly everyone goes down the drive-thru lane where the driver's window has the easiest access to the restaurant window, even on days when it is really busy.  The drive-thu lane next to the tables is seldom used. Yeah, most would argue that it is a pain to use the passenger window to pay and grab your food, but I would argue different.
I really do not mind if I have to use the passenger window to get food.  What I do mind however is the masses of people eating next to me while I am in line waiting for my food!  I thank the lord if there's a time in the day when there is no one eating at the tables, but that rarely happens, especially at night. I feel as though that when you drive down that lane, everyone begins to look and start judging you.  And what can you look at at this point?  On the other drive thru lane, you only had to deal with a wall and you didn't have to give a rat's ass what you looked like.  In this lane, you feel fucked if you look like shit or do anything stupid in your car.  And boy does it get awkward when you get caught looking at the people eating.
The best thing to do if your in this lane is turn down your music and keep looking straight, down or to the right to avoid eye contact.

    5) Every night is a potential fight night as your local Albertacos.
    - I really do not understand how fights come up at this place.  They just do.  I don't even know how they occur in the first place.  All I know is that I'm just sitting down with a couple of my friends on a nice night.  We're chatting it up like everyone else and the atmosphere is great.  Then there's the shouting that happens, everything gets quiet, the food doesn't taste as good, and its all wtf.  How'd that fight happen!?  Then everyone begins to leave thinking, "fuck that shit" or "do not want" while the two warring factions stand toe-to-toe to one another.  Can I have a nice evening there with my friends sometimes without dealing with other people's bullshit?  The whole reason I go there with my friends is to forget about the bullshit.  Shiiiiieeeeeet.

Yeah, that's it.  Make your own opinions of the place now and eat the damn food already!

MUST EAT HERE! THIS IS MY GO TO SPOT! Try the california burrito, carne asada fries, and their HORCHATA!  I try every place's horchata and they just aren't as good, but last time they watered it down too much so I hope they don't continue doing that. A california burrito will cost you around 5.50, carne asada fries 7.50, and large horchata is 2 bucks (prices are an estimate with tax included). I also love their hot sauce. This place is way better than Alberto's.

They do not accept CREDIT CARD. If you use your debit card it is an extra 75 cents fee. So bring cash!

Had a little reunion with this place. I usually get either the carne asada burrito or carne asada fries, but I decided to give the California Burrito a try (I had tried it many years ago). Albertaco's is back in my good graces (or, at least, in 4-star territory).

If I had to bank on a single menu item that a friend had wanted me to pick out (because it was his/her first time at Albertaco's), then I would pick the California Burrito. Portions were good, and the California Burrito has never failed me. I'm still a little hesitant about the prices here, but I can't complain too much because the food has usually tasted pretty good most of the times I have eaten here.

As usual, I love the sauce... although some of my friends would argue that it's just spicy liquid. True, it might not be chunky... but I love it!

This place probably wouldn't go out of business even if aliens invaded the Earth. I'm sure even the aliens would stop by on their hovercrafts at midnight for their Albertaco's fix.

This place was all the rage when I was in highschool. Didn't feel like going to 6th period? Albertacos it is! And have fun running into all the other slackers!
It's okay. Most people get either the carne asada fries or the california burrito (which is exactly the same as the carne asada fries except wrapped in a tortilla). I used to be an avid california burrito eater until one day I got food poisoning from it :[
Sadly, I was unable to eat here for like a year or two after. Recently, I've started going again, but I can only stick to bean + cheese burritos, quesadillas- basically anything nonmeat.
    Nice that it's open late.

I know in the past I've had my qualms about labeling this place what I'm about to name it, and please don't get me wrong, there are other places around (or at least one other place) that can at least hold a candle to this one, but as of today, I am OFFICIALLY saying and labeling this place as MY FAVORITE place to Carne Asada Fries.  Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I have decided to forget the fact that this place is a bit of a drive from where I live, and label it thus.

Carne Asada Fries.  Yes, that is all that I will get here.  Nothing else is on my mind when I pass this establishment.  California burrito?  Nope.  Tacos? Taquitos? Nachos?  Nope, Nope, and NOPE.  My dear friends, there is something about the phenomenal combination of fries, carne, guac, cheese, and sour cream that makes this the only thing that is on my mind.  Note, I did not mention beans.  Beans would taint such a lovely recipe.  But one thing you CANNOT miss is the red sauce.  Yup, it's probably the red sauce that makes it all come together here.  But who knows what it really is about this place that people will wait in a long line for this particular location instead of going to the three to five other ones just down the street.  All we know is, it's the best one on Carson Street, and I hope they keep it that way.

There are several reasons why Albertaco's is great (in my opinion). One, it's freshly cooked. Two, California burrito. Three, Carne asada fries. Four, Horchata. Five, you can come in the morning, afternoon, or late at night & the food's still good.

Seriously. Albertacos is WAY better than the Alberto's down the street. (Trust me. I tried it.)

Good ol' reliable Albertaco's. I've been coming here for years, ever since I (and/or my friends) started driving. Won't say how long ago that was because a lady never reveals her age. ;)

There's not many places where you can pick up a ginormous burrito for $4. I usually pick up via the drive through because dining there would mean eating with a plethora of pigeons waiting for you to drop a chunk of food.

The drive through intercom could be replaced since you can't understand anything coming out of it. Just make sure to speak loud and clear and proceed on to the pick up window.

I usually get a chicken burrito, a carne asada burrito (w/ rice, cheese & sour cream), a california burrito or carne asada fries. All are equally good and filing.

    Also, love their Horchatas.

I've had a pretty good experience with this place so far. Over the years, they may have decrease the amount of fries and changed the fries to the larger ones, but the taste still remains the same in their carne asada fries! I've been coming here for about 7 years now and its still one of my favorite carne asada fries places. I also had the taquitos with guacamole sauce which tasted pretty decent. If you are craving a burrito, you can ask for extra tortilla wraps for 50 cents and you can make two burritos the fries. The breakfast burrito is pretty tasty too! I recommend getting extra carrots and extra hot sauce which we normally get for freee.

The place is usually filled with groups of people at night. You may get a few stares but no one really bothers you here except for some squatters asking for some change. The bad thing about this place is that it closes at 1:30am. After coming back from drinking and hanging out, I wouldn't mind eating here but we never make it in time.

I would have to say this place offers great carne asada fries.  I just recently discovered they have fries with guacamole and cheese if you want to go light.

I've tried the carne asada burrito - it was better than other carne asada burritos I've had.  It had lots of pico de gallo in it which gives it a fresher taste versus being stuffed with beans & rice.

Also tried the California burrito which is basically filled with carne asada and fries.  I thought this was really good but I'd probably go without the sour cream/crema next time because I think it was making the burrito a little too salty.

Wash it all down with a large jamaica and you're back in business!  I took a star off because this place could work on their customer service.  No hello, good bye, or see you next time.  Oh well, at least they have great food. Enjoy...

    Let's see...what have I tried from here...

Shrimp Burrito - Really good and lots of shrimp!  You get a couple of shrimps with every bite.  The sauce they add complements the shrimp very well.

Chicken Fries - It's like the carne asada ones but with chicken.  They're so good!  They're not shy with the chicken, cheese, guac and sour cream.  Very filling and definitely shareable.

Chicken taquitos - Perfectly crunchy and again not shy with the toppings!

Carne Asada Burrito - Okay I haven't tried this because I don't eat beef but BF said it's really good and he's always ordering it.

    Overall, this place is good!

This place has become quite popular with people at my high school, and with good reason - cheap and delicious Mexican food.

Things to try if you've never been here before are the carne asada fries, California Burrito (essentially carne asada fries in a burrito) and any of their rolled tacos.  Aguas frescas are also something good to try.  Portions are VERY filling.  You and a friend could finish off a carne asada fries if you aren't that hungry.  If you come at night though be prepared - no indoor seating.

This is one of the only places I'll go a little out if my way for.  Yes, I do live next to probably 3-4 Molcasalsas' with in maybe a 5 miles radius.  But I will come here if I'm in need of a California burrito, carne asada fries or nachos (obviously I will not want to eat all in one seating).  If I'm eating by myself I'll get a CA burrito, but if I'm sharing we'll get the nachos or the fries, depending who I'll be sharing with.

The meat is usually tasty and has a little crispy quality to it, without it tasting overcooked.  I love their hot sauce, even though my boyfriend hates driving out of the way to come here (when I come here with him), he thinks their hot sauce is the best.

I will warn you, the drive thru has a long wait and there is usually a line, to be honest, I have never seen it when there wasn't a line at the drive thru.  But that can be evidence of how much people like the food here.

This place has the best burrito you'll ever have. It may not be authentic Mexican but it sure is tasty! The California Burrito is simply a culinary masterpiece - Carne Asada, cheese, fries, and sour cream (I always ask for extra) all wrapped up inside a tortilla shell...I'm salivating just thinking about it! I've had other stuff on the menu which is all good but the CA Burrito is what had me coming back again and again when I lived in California. This place is NOT for the health conscious...probably why I gained weight when I lived out there. But now that I'm on the East Coast, I always will make the time to make it back to this place when I'm in town visiting.

Carne Asada fries. THESE are the ones right here. It's now become a must go to when I'm in the area.

Carne Asada piled on fries, guacamole, sour cream and two different kinds of cheeses...not of that cheez whiz/nacho cheese stuff. (Bleh)

I would give this place a 4 star only if they would be more generous with their hot sauce and their bags of jalapeno/carrots!  C'Mon! Dont you know with every bite of a carne asada burrito there must be a bite of jalapeno/carrot?

I have tried alot of menu items from this place, but my favorite items have to be their carne asada fries (to die for) and their carne asada burrito. (yum)

My bf and I would ususally order 1 carne asada burrito and 1 order of carne asada fries and share (more than enough for us).

Carne asada fries are drenched with meat, cheese, delicious white sauce, guacamole, onions.  The portions are HUGE.  Prices are GREAT.

They only take cash - so be prepared for that.

You can drive through or walk up - there are a few seats outside...but most people pick their food up and enjoy at home.
