Best BBQ in Tulsa. Cool old gas station ambience and the place was filled with firemen and policemen...they always know where to find good food.

The people were nice and friendly, but the food wasn't what I expected. I ordered chopped brisket and received big chunks of what appeared to be roast beef and as dry and chewy as it was it would've made good tires. No matter what type of sauce I used it didn't help the taste any. Man was I glad to get out of there. Needless to say I won't be trying it a second time.

Maybe it's because when I want BBQ I fire up my smoker and make it myself, but this place just missed the mark.

I ordered a pulled pork sandwich.  You would think that it is pretty hard to mess up pulled pork.  I can't even describe the taste but it was just gross. Had I not been starving I probably would have asked for my money back and went elsewhere.  Maybe I was just there on a bad day but I know that I won't be going back.

While this isn't the best BBQ I've had, I still have to give Albert G's some love.  Albert G's is a popular lunch spot, and you can tell by the crowd of people in line for lunch here that its good.  You will find business men in suits and construction workers all piled in to the neatly remodeled small ex-Phillips 66 gas station.  I had heard good things about the BBQ here and decided to try it for my self.  I ordered some Sliced Brisket and Ribs with a side of BBQ Beans and Coleslaw.

My food promptly came out.  The Brisket and Ribs looked surprisingly delicious.

Sliced Brisket- Thick slices of beef piled onto my plate with a little bit of sauce looked very good.  While the Brisket was loaded with flavor and had a terrific smoked flavor, it was very dry.  It wasn't chewy, infact it was very tender.  I was cutting it with a plastic fork and it was falling apart.  I still enjoyed it, even though I am not a fan of dry brisket.  I piled tons of the spicy sauce on it and really enjoyed it.

Ribs-  After recently have a bad rib experience, I am probably reacting off of emotion but these ribs were very good.  The ribs weren't falling off the bone but were still tender.  The dry rub used on the ribs was fantastic, it immediately sent my taste buds into overdrive.  The meat had a fantastic smoke flavor and with a little sauce sent me to rib heaven.  These aren't the best ribs I've had, but could possibly be the best in Tulsa.  I won't jump to any conclusions yet.

BBQ Beans- Pinto beans with fantastic sauce.  These beans kicked ass, and not in the way gross out your friends.   Very good.  I enjoyed it.

Coleslaw- Great and not too much cabbage flavor.

The sauces here are very sweet.  I used the spicy sauce because the regular was too sweet.  The spicy was still sweet and not too spicy.  I really enjoyed this sauce.  BAM! no? ok.

Give Alberts G's a shot for lunch.  You won't be disappointed.

Yup, it's an old gas station, bathrooms around the side and everything...  You eat in the old service bay...

Nothing fancy just good solid BBQ, no fries no fluff!  Slammed at lunch time but fast service.

If you like good Q try this place.

Spoken from a Texan...this is some of the best bbq I've ever had!

Their HOT bbq sauce is to die for. The chili spices definitely kicks bbq sauces up a few notches. First of all, the ribs are just full of goodness and flavor. The meat is so tender it falls right off the bone. The brisket is a great cut as well, not dry at all. You can smell and taste the smokiness. Next, I dove right into the hot links...and wow! Amazing taste and spice. It goes well w/the hot bbq sauce.

The portions are huge too! Well worth the money.

Lastly, the sides. Hands down the best baked beans ever. It has a sweet and savory touch to the sauce that is just perfect...bean heaven! The potato salad was also very good. Not too creamy...I think they use a sweet & sour relish. It was very light and airy, even for a potato salad. Even their regular white bread was good.

As far as BBQ goes, I would say that Albert G's is my favorite so far in Tulsa.  I love that they're in a converted garage, the service was friendly and fast. I ordered 2 ribs (1.79 each) and a side of beans.

Love that the meat is served quickly and on a checkered paper (very auto shop chic) covered tray. I found a container of sauce and went outside armed with some spicy jalapenos and moist wipes, which I knew would be a necessity.

The ribs were juicy, tender, with lots of meat and just enough fat to provide the taste that makes BBQ ribs so addictive. Slathered a bit of sauce on the rib, yummy!  The beans were unique in that they didn't taste like they came out of a can, like so many other BBQ joints, these were cooked fresh and not goopy (slightly more soupy in consistency), they had a tinge of pork in them with a hint of berry (raspberry perhaps?) and not too sweet.

Overall a great experience for barbeque - nothing fancy but good solid smoked ribs. Awesome ribs.

Best BBQ in the city. I always get the chopped brisket. Also, the best baked beans I've ever had. They have a unique ingredient that I can't quite pinpoint, but I think it's apple sauce. Whatever it is, it WORKS!

i am writing this review in comparison with Wilson's bbq just a couple miles away.  i had them both within a few days of each other while in the area.

had bbq ribs and sliced brisket.  albert g's has incredible smoke flavor.  however, the sauce is not good at all.  i hate to say this, but it's on par with a mcrib - sorry.  luckily we went to wilson's first and had left over sauce to use for albert g's.  they were average for tenderness.  the baked beans are decent, but not as good as wilson's.  potato salad is better than wilson's.  if you eat your ribs dry, you can't go wrong with the flavor of albert g's, but they are only average for tenderness.  the best flavor in dry bbq i've ever had.

what keeps albert g's in the mix of good bbq is the smoke taste.  it's very good, very strong and goes down to the bone.

with all of this said, wilson's is better (5 stars from me).  overall.  see my review for wilson's, too for more details on what makes wilsons so good.

This was my first stop upon moving to Tulsa.  Albert G's is in a converted gas station... it's small, really small.  I liked the food quite a bit & the portions are quite big.  The sauce was a little sweet for my taste, but I haven't had enough bbq from here to really speak for everyone else.
