I wasn't aware of the low Yelp reviews for this restaurant when I came upon it for lunch with some family members...but we had a great experience.  There were six of us, hungry at 11:30pm on a Tuesday.  There aren't a ton of great restaurants in this area (which is kind of a surprise).

The decor wasn't much to speak of...and the restaurant room was a little chilly on a cold day, but the service was fine...friendly and competent.  And the food was outstanding.  It was fresh and hot, and all very delicious.  My aunt had the soup of the day...asparagus and shrimp, as well as a salmon special that she enjoyed.  My uncle's chicken parm with spaghetti was a heaping portion that he devoured.  I loved my rigatoni with meatsauce.  And even the two who ordered chicken paninis were very happy.

We even got a free tiramisu for dessert from the very nice staff members, AFTER we'd paid our bill.

Not many options in this area for lunch and it's saving grace is that you can get a glass of wine with your meal.

Avocado with chicken salad and Chicken Cesar salad both just OK.  Chicken was dry and flavorless but glass of white wine made it go down just a lil bit easier!

Be careful the bartender told me what my final cost was, when I asked her to please give me a paper bill found out I had been overcharged for my salad and an 18% tip added to the cost.  It was only two of us at the bar having lunch!!!

    Sneaky , sneaky, sneaky.

I think I will only return for their happy hour drink special. Go before the sun goes down as it gets a little....sketchy, sketchy, sketchy!

I'm only giving this place 4 stars because I came here for a birthday party a month ago. Easy to find small venue. The DJ was definitely on point that Friday Night but unfortunately it gets way too crowded. I mix of ages ( late 20's- 50's here and there). I cant judge the food or drinks but the place itself not so bad. I had an amazing time but I think it was because I was there with the right crowd. Its free for ladies all night Friday by the way.

So this review is for the only food item I've ever had in Albella's....the garlic knots.  I've picked up an order maybe 4 times in the 4 years I've been working in the neighborhood.  They are pretty good.  Soft.  Chewy.  Garlicky.  They hit the spot.  My only complaint towards them is the price.  $2.25 for 6 garlic knots is a bit steep.  When I first picked up an order of these I think they were $1.50 for 6... I get it though... the economy is suffering so the price of garlic knots must rise.  For the one-time-a-year I pick up an order I can handle the $2.25 but I still won't be making a habit of stopping at Albella's.

So, I'm expecting a fancy italian restaurant when I walk in BUT I get a creepy, not so clean, no waiter experience, LOUD salsa music.  Waited for about 5-10 minutes, no waiter so we walk over to the bar, oh sorry you have to place your order at the bar.  Really???  I left!  No thanks!  Btw it was 7:30pm.

Steer clear - the food produced by this hell hole is not fit for human consumption.  Would you believe they tried to pass off thinly pounded slices of beef (looked, tasted, and fell apart like flank steak) for veal?  They actually think people won't notice?  What a despicable way to try to save some bucks.

Unremarkable pizza. Nothing special. Generic Italian but the interior is a bit more elegant/cozy that Corte Cafe that's around the corner. Jeez Luis, how come there isn't any good dining options around City Hall for lunch? I guess most people bring their lunch? Or maybe I am just not well acquainted with the area...HELP
