I agreed to go zip lining even though I was pretty nervous about it but I didn't want to seem like a wimp. I guess in my head I was thinking zip lining was a rope tied between two trees while a holding a bandanna straddling the line and you zip down it. Okay, that's a little exaggerated but I expected something more primitive. Obviously, I'm not an outdoorsy person.
The whole zip lining contraption looked safe and it put some of my nerves at ease. However, once we got to the first tree station and it was my turn to go I was excited and nervous again.. my heart was beating out of my chest. Then I jumped off the platform. When I got to the next platform I was enjoying the rush of adrenaline and I was thinking, "I want to go faster on the next one."
There are about 5/6 different zip lines that we went on. Each line I wanted to go faster or go down with no hands and on the last zip line that I went on I was hanging upside down. I had so much fun!
The day that I went it was raining and really cold. On one of the platforms we chilled out for a bit (no pun intended) and the group was served some kind of tea that, I think, was brewed with Sitka Spruce. It was a nice way to warm up in the middle of the tour.
Beautiful scenery too. -

I HAD SOOOOO MUCH FUN! I'm hoping to go again before the tourist season is over.
My guides were awesome and I was a little nervous at first but they were very professional while being very friendly. I always felt safe. I was a freebie (a perk of being in the industry) but if I had paid, it would've been well worth the money.
They provide rain jackets for you to protect you from moisture and tree sap. They also lock your things up for you while you're zipping around.
Make sure you tip your guides! They work very hard to ensure everyone feels safe and happy and I think every person should give them at least $20. I tipped $60. -
