Great, relaxed atmosphere! Wonderful service! Over 800 flavors of coffee for the tasting! Tables galore, couch & even chess set! Early hours but thats good in my book!

Is this the fanciest coffee shop you'll set foot into? Nope. If you're used to a place with swanky jazz music, lightning fast wi-fi, and hipster clientele, Alaska Klondike Coffee Co. is not your place.
Alaska Klondike is a down home, mom and pop kind of coffee shop. Nothing too fancy; just a few tables, and if I remember correctly, a sofa or two.
I grew up in North County, and 16 year old Stephanie used to come here all the time to study, hang with friends, or simply feel like a fancy-pants-latte-sipping adult.
10 years later, I still get a little twinge of nostalgia everytime I make the trek into NoCo and see Alaska Klondike still standing.
It's not the fanciest coffee shop around, but there's a reason it's survived for 15+ years.
If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a visit.Listed in: NoCo Loco!

Review from Aimee K.
I wandered out to the Hazelwood/Florissant area this afternoon because tonight is my grandpa's annual corned beef & cabbage dinner that is NOT to be missed by a single grandchild. The dinner doesn't happen until later, so what I did I do in the meantime? Naturally, I used my Yelp app to search for a locally owned coffee shop, and much to my pleasant surprise I found one local place out of a million Starbucks & Bread Co's.
I was a little weary when I pulled up because it's a little rough looking (the entire strip center is a little rough looking), but I trusted Elizabeth S's one-liner review and made my way inside. It's really unlike any coffee shop I've seen before, and I had to laugh at the random washing machine right inside the door with newspapers on top. (?) To get to the register you walk through a row of little popcorn makers that are for sale, as well as loads of "gourmet syrups". I really have no idea what they would even be used for on a normal basis. Not pancake syrup, the kind of syrup you make snowcones with. Again, just super confused but onward I go...
The menu signs are all homemade and you can tell someone worked really hard at it, which I of course love. The man behind the register popped out and I ordered a hot chocolate (my body can't take more coffee today.) I then asked him if they had wireless internet, and he said yes but it's FIVE DOLLARS! Whaaaaaaat?!?! I'll give you a second to process that...
Okay, obviously I appeared shocked and he told me that the good thing is once I have it, I have it forever, so I "can pull up outside in the middle of the night and use it if I want to." I don't plan on doing that anytime soon, and I paid the stupid five dollars because I had to get work done and it was too snowy to drive anywhere else. He told me his shop is a one-man operation, and the internet costs him a fortune to keep up. But five bucks? That's one expensive provider...
Three stars because the hot chocolate was very, very good. Homemade whipped cream and a bunch of different chocolates melted together. I'm not in the area very much so I don't think I'll be here again, but if you want local coffee in an area of mostly chains, this is your place.Listed in: Mostly So-So
