This is my favorite thrift shop in the Houston area! I always seem to find great clothes at pretty good prices. Sometimes I will see something I like, but realize it is way over priced. In those cases, I put it back because I know I will find other great finds at better prices.

The place is very clean and well organized. I never leave empty handed!

The only con is that the neighborhood is seedy, so it isnt very good to go after dark. Other than that, 2 thumbs up!

We've been going to this place for over ten years now. We love it! This place is a warehouse full of mostly decently priced used clothing and home decor and furniture. Every time we go we leave with a few things. You have to spend some time searching through the racks, but you can find some brand name stuff, and occasionally with the original tags still on. They sort first by mens/womens/kids, then by type (short sleeve, etc.), then by size. There are rows of skirts, dresses, jackets, shirts, jeans. The shoes aren't the hot items; some of them look very used. The purses are hit or miss. Furniture is the same way. But the clothing always proves fruitful. And if the prices weren't cheap enough, they do have half off certain marked colors or letters, every day. Don't expect good customer service here, though. There's never anyone on the floor to help if you need it, but do you really need it at a place where you are just flipping through racks of random stuff? I'm not sure they could be helpful if the employees were trying. Heads up: keep your purse on you at all times. My mother's purse was stolen here when she turned from her basket one day. This has happened once in ten years though, so I don't judge the place as unsafe.

Bottom line: it's worth the trip, but expect to root for the good stuff through the muck.

Pasadena is full of great thrift stores--and the Alamo Thrift Store is one of them! You can find cool lamps, great dining sets, mid century retro furniture, wonderful luggage sets here on a lucky day. The store also features a large selection of clothing.
