Update 1-1-11
So I am staying here for a second time because I didn't want to pay out the nose for NYE so i looked this place up again since the last time wasn't that bad.
Any hotel will have these same reviews. ive seen the grand californian reviews saying its dirty or customer service sucks and how much is it? anywhere 200$-400$ a night. are people expecting gold plated sheets? i looked up Alamo again because it is cheap and clean. i say give it a shot if you don't like it you will only be out 60$ not 400$

Room: Your standard room with bathroom, table, small fridge and microwave, the A/C works great, but the bathtub leaks like no other, one guy said that he showers in jail are better, i wouldn't know, but i could imagine it is. but the room is clean thats a bonus!1 Previous Review: Show all »

Worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The place is a dive. It looks nice from the outside, but once your in it is horrible. I stayed here on May 18-19th. The first problem started with the look of the outside area of the rooms, It looks dirty. The key wouldn't work at first had to keep trying 5-6 times.
Once in the room the you noticed the queen beds really look like full size. The furniture looks like it is from the 70's. The air condition is mounted near the ceiling and blows the air up instead of down. Next there was at least half inch gaps on all sides of the AC unit. I literally could see outside.
The carpet is dirty please wear slippers. There were iron stains on the carpet. I took a shower walked around a few minutes and put my foot on the tub and there was a big black foot print. The microwave and Tv are outdated. The TV was broken on the sides.
The door safety lock didn't work, so we had to place a chair behind the door. The bathroom was the most disgusting area. The toilet paper dispenser didn't roll at all, I mean it didn't roll. You had to go over under and back over to get your paper. The shower rod was bent and cracked. The towl holders were bent. The faucet doesn't fit the sink, because it barely makes it into the bowl. Every screw used in outlets were rusted. There were ants all over the bathroom and previous dead bugs smashed. It looked like someone lost a caulking war in the bathroom.
The towels were like sandpaper. If you crack the bathroom window anyone can see you, because you are facing the front. There was no privacy.
The pool is small and only 4.5 feet deep. The first thing we did was look for bed bugs. I would have rather slept in the van then this place. Oh they have two ice machines and only one works. I would keep your food in the car. -

List of things that were not cool at this "inn":
1. Only 1 out of 3 lamps worked
2. Fleas, Ants and earwig like creatures inhabited the room
3. Toilet did not flush consistently
4. Hair dryer did not work
5. Room keys did not work (had to go to the front desk 3 times to have them fixed)
6. Window in bathroom did not lock let alone have a screen on it, big enough for a person to squeeze through
7. Drawer in room was completely shattered, splintered exposed wood stuck far enough out to trip on and leave many splinters
8. Air conditioner shut off randomly (not an option for auto)
9. Staff did nothing to compensate us or make us feel cared for (0 customer service)
Room #215 sucked! And the staff were lame. -

Minus 5 stars, and I've had time to "get over" my stay
I wouldn't stay for free or if someone paid me.
One word to discernible my stay-HORRIFIC
This place is delapitated, everything is old,and in disrepair inside and out.
-The smell in the room is rank!
-Bugs, spiders, everywhere, even in the Bed sheets.
-Toilet cracked, leaking and does not flush, I had to repair it so I could use it!
-Bathroom is completely unhealthy/unsanitary missing floor tiles, unpainted wall patches, mold and flaking paint around the shower, window and toilet.
-I had cold showers, like I was visiting a third world country. I love camping and bathing in the river, but REALLY!!!
-Awfull stains on carpet
-Mattreses stink, are stained, broken down and look to be from 60's or 70's no exaggeration. Pillows are indescribable.
-The building is old and not well built which is ok, walls are thin, floors squeak and are loose, this is fine w me but I'm a heavy sleeper.
-Furnishings are rediculas, falling apart, two of the three lamps don't work.
-A room reservation for three, two queen beds. NOT! We ended up with two double beds, two wash cloths, three very small bath towels, amenities are a joke.
-Room door and bathroom window will not lock, some people may have a hard time shutting the room door. It needs to be forced shut causing a loud slam which shakes the entire wall. I have been hearing other guests dealing with the same issue.
-walk ways are terribly stained, failing and exterior siding and trim boards are rotten, cracked and falling appart, nails are sticking out and unpainted.
Some of these things don't bother me so much but I feel it's important to share my experience so that you readers have a accurate description of the overall state of this place.
My general feeling as a guest is that I am very unimportant, I am of no value since I've already paid in full. The young lady at the front desk has been there for three days, day and night. Not sure what the story there is but there is no way she is working less than 18 hour days and it shows. Not very welcoming, nothing even close to a smile, Facebook and her cell phone are much more important than the guests. Don't mean to bag on her, she is obviously a hard worker and needs some time off, there was effort put forth on her part, she did respond to our requests. Call for your own Taxi at this place. House keepers were very sweet, hardworking and professional. The state of this place is not their fault, they do a great job at "putting lipstick on a pig" It's sad when there is obviously money spent on the front of the building (what can be seen from the street) as well as daily maintenance but the areas that cant be seen from the street and the rooms haven't seen any attention whatsoever in many, many years. I feel like I've been duped in a way, definitely a case of false advertising.
I'm a very simple man and not overly picky. I have had my share of bad experiences in shabby hotels. I have always been able to shrug it off and think of the experience as an adventure, make the best of it, laugh it off. Not this time, I'm sick to my stomach about this experience.
Do not reccommend a stay here, I would have rather stayed in another city and rented a car or gladly paid for a taxi ride to the convention center. The bad reviews are dead on and the possative ones have to be fake. -

Well you get what you pay for, the room was okay for what we paid for it, but what really upset me is that we left our camera there, we noticed we did not have it once we reached home and remembered we left it on the counter in the room, we called right away and the clerk was evasive and first stated that she had to wait for the maid to come in? then when we called back she stated "oh we left the room dirty and she just cleaned it??" she stated that the maid did not see anything? What a LIAR first of all hotels do not leave a room dirty on a weekend, it is EASTER weekend + spring break? they want to rent those rooms! the camera is not what is important its the pictures! they are all lost, to the person who took the camera this does not mean anything but to us those pictures are priceless as there are pictures of my grandpa with his whole family we were all in a different country and all of together at once we will never have this again. I will never stay at place where there motto is STEALING this only makes me think when we leave the room I am sure they snoop thru our things do they take things from that too? I gave it a one star because they don't allow less.

Pretty much my go-to hotels for weekend stays at Disneyland. Very close to the park, and close to the Anaheim Transit stop that takes you up to the font gate if you don't feel like walking. The hotel is dated and the rooms are not "nice" by any means.. but for $50/night on weekend, you can't beat it!

You do get what you pay for. The man and I decided to do Disneyland for his birthday and wanted it on the cheap. We stayed 3 nights and only paid $50 a night. Not bad.
None of the rooms were dirty. I say none, because we saw the inside of three rooms.
Originally we were only booked to spend 2 nights, but the desk clerk said that we would be able to stay 3 nights if we moved on the second night because that would be over booking them.
We agreed because that would be our only option.
We lugged all of our stuff to the third floor to find out it was a 2 double bed room. When we only needed one bed we could save the hassle of moving if they had a room open.
They changed our room to a single bed room on the ground floor. When I opened the door there was a huge carpet cleaning machine on the floor and the standard table and chairs were on the bed!
One of the maids went to the office to change our room for us. And a grounds keeper helped us move our luggage to the room next door.
It saved us from having to move on that third night. The room did smell like baby powder, but at least it didn't smell like baby shit. The shower was clean and I thought the water pressure was decent. I got clean!
Oh yeah, we watched Shark Week on the Discovery Channel! -

Ahaha. Hahaha. I am lying in bed right now at this so-called "inn" and I am nottttttt happy. Some form of bugs in the fridge, rock hard beds, scummy bathtub, no chain-lock on the door, poor lighting, and ancient television.
PLUS, we overheard a conversation between a guest and the front desk employee. Basically, the guest's toilet has been clogged for three days, and yesterday a plumber came out but didn't fix it, and when he asked for a refund or a room change, the front-desk employee shrugged him off and said something like, "Well, we paid for the plumber. There's nothing I can do for you."

I paid under $100 for two nights for this place. It provided the following: a bed to sleep on and running water.
The beds were hard. We saw a tiny spider crawling on our pillows on one night. The bathroom had a weird smell and the water in the shower was leaking. The towels were nice and scratchy. But as I said, it's purpose was used and it was cheap. Definitely be staying at the resorts just for it being so close to the park and of course a place that we can truly relax in.Listed in: Travel Adventures

Having been a flight attendant for many years I have stayed in hundreds of hotels, from 5 star resorts to 1 star shady motels. This was by far the WORST motel I have ever been to. My boyfriend and I were on a budget so we booked this through Orbitz for $40. We also had our dog with us and it appeared to be the only hotel within our price range that would accept pets in the area.
I realize that at $40 a night there isn't too much to expect but there is a certain standard of cleanliness and decency that is to be expected anywhere you stay no matter the cost.
The first room we were given smelled so strongly of cleaning product that our eyes were burning. Even my boyfriend was complaining and he's typically a laid back guy about things like that. We think it may have been coming out of the ancient air conditioner. The bed was rock hard and the fridge/microwave were unplugged upon arrival. This should be a red flag to anyone checking into a hotel room. If the fridge is unplugged, the motel is trying to save money and that looks incredibly cheap. The toilet seat was cracked in half and propped against the bathroom wall. The shower had so much mold you could tell it used to be a different color.
We decided to change rooms when the door didn't appear to lock correctly and didn't have any sort of dead bolt or chain lock. It was disappointing because right outside our door was a tree and a little grassy area perfect for our dog's potty breaks. It would have been a great room.
So we were switched to a second floor to a room that smelled better but still like an old used up motel room. It had an even older air conditioner but the thing actually worked pretty well. The door/locking system to this room was the exact same and we really didn't feel like dealing with it so we opted to press a chair up under the handle for the night. Anyone with a key to our room (be it shady motel worker, housekeeper or guest given our room by mistake) could have walked right in. This is absolutely unacceptable.
The soaps and lotions were cheap and old. The towels were so old they had begun to ball up after so many washings and they felt like sandpaper. We slept with only the sheet on the bed, not wanting to touch the filthy comforter or tan colored blanket. The pillows were old and misshapen.
Their standard bed sizes are 2 doubles (full) or 1 double. Instead of the normal 2 doubles or 1 King of just about every other hotel in existence. You have to pay $10 extra to get a King room. We did that. So we ended up paying way too much for a room worth about $15/night. If that even.
The thing that perhaps baffled us the most was in every room they had two stupid "paintings" of the same ship. Not even two different ships or a nice flower painting. They literally had two identical paintings hanging on the wall in each room. But that's not all. One of our paintings was very crooked and screwed to the wall like that. Such an obvious sign that whoever owns this place doesn't care the least bit. It's such an insult to the guest to sleep in a room where the painting on the wall is hung and SECURED completely crooked.
Terrible place. Oh and don't ask for a late checkout, it'll cost you extra for each hour you are there past 11am. -

CON: Cramped room (the queen bed takes up about half the area, real talk). Outdated environment (i.e. fridge, microwave, television, A/C). Squeeky bed. Weak sink faucet water pressure.
PRO: Cheap. A couple blocks from Disneyland. Outdated items work. Strong shower water pressure. Toilet has a "Sanitized for your protection" sign, for reassurance =)
SUMMARY: Recommended for up to two-people parties, MAX (for single rooms), who STRONGLY value an "I just need a place to sleep" mentality. -

I realize we paid under 70 bucks per night for this place. However under amenities, I did not see broken air unit, peeled paint, dirty carpets oh yeah and a Dead Cockroach in our bathroom on day 2. Very unhelpful staff will never stay here again.

My boyfriend and I went to Disneyland for the weekend and we wanted to skimp on the hotel so we would have more cash for the park. This place was the cheapest within walking distance, and I guess the room about matched what we paid for it. I don't have any grimey horror stories for you; the room was clean enough. But man, there was a strong perfume in there, like baby powder only a million times stronger, and the window wouldn't open so we kind of had to deal with the stifling odor. At least it didn't smell like death though.
There was a tiny pool we didn't get the chance to check out, not much luxury going on in this place but it was within a few blocks of the park which was fantastic. The beds and towels were a bit stiff, and the staff was polite enough. If you're looking for the cheapest place to stay this would be it, but for a bit more money I bet one could do a lot better. -

Yes, I paid a total of 105 dollars including tax to stay here for 2 nights, but would I do it again? NO! This place has definitely taught me a lesson in being frugal. This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The room was super small and the carpet was extremely soiled. I didn't even feel safe walking on the carpet with socks on. I had my shoes on the whole time. The bedding was extremely outdated and the linens were off white, probably from years of use. The bath towels are made for midgets and looked dirty, so we actually went to Walmart to buy our own. The microwave, fridge and tv are probably older than I am. The bathroom door was missing half its paint job and the tub was grimey. Needless to say, we ended up checking out early and leaving. You get what you pay for, but this was not worth it at all.

This is definitely a place to stay if you are on a budget. Good for what you pay for. Service by the staff is friendly and was helpful in giving us tips on where to go. If you are planning on going to Disneyland or elsewhere... it is super convenient and walking distance to all the nearby attractions.

OMG, I think this was one of my worst stays EVER at a hotel! I would never recommend this place to my worse enemy! We have a large family and was looking for something close to Disneyland at a reasonable price and this place was horrible! When we arrived in our room it was 2a and we were ready to sleep asap so that we could get some rest before our 1st day in Disneyland. Well as I laid down in bed I noticed that there were several water spots from leaks on the ceiling and at one corner of the ceiling there was a HUGE mold infestation. We called the front desk and was told that we could switch rooms the next day, so we called it a night and went to bed. When I got up to shower the next morning the water pressure was so STRONG that it felt like I was in a pressure washer then the tub would not drain quick enough. As I showered the tun would keep at least 3 inches of water in it. The carpets were horribly dirty, the beds were like sleeping on cement slabs, it was just a horrible experience! I couldn't believe that a hotel this run down could be this close to Disneyland! Do not stay at this hotel, no matter how cheap it is! They also offer free Wi-Fi but the signal is so poor that you can't stay connected to the internet!
