George, Brian and their crew did an excellent and professional job with our recent foundation upgrade. They were very punctual and thorough from beginning to end. We couldn't recommend them more highly

We have done a lot of work over the years and this is one of my husband's favorite contractors. We always trust them and he is extremely honest and knowledgeable.
If you need foundation work done I would not hestiate to use Alameda Structural.
They came to us highly referred and we have been extremely happy with the team there. -

It's nice to see that there are still good, honest businesses out there that care about their customers and the work they do.
This business is amazing! George is great and all his employees are phenomenal. I can't sing their praises enough.
Anyone that owns property that needs foundation work, these are the people to go to. They bust some serious ass!
Having your foundation completely re-done is not cheap and quite the undertaking. But, I feel like I got more than my money's worth and the construction crew worked like a well oiled machine.
They were extremely efficient and knowledgeable. Everyone was very professional and hard working.
If I had to do it all over again, I would not hesitate in working with Alameda Structural.
Pass it on.... -

I just finished a seismic retrofit with Alameda Structural. Great service and response to all needs. If you have a question or concern George gets back to you immediately. His subcontractors were great as well. I had some extra painting and sheetrock work done.
The men that worked on my home were extremely polite, hard workers, quite knowledgeable. And dog friendly!
the only caveat, their "finish" work is ok. They are best at the non pretty work. -

Structural work is never fun; it has to be done, but you're not left with anything to enjoy. I learned of this company through our realtor, and I'm glad I accepted their bid. They started the job early, finished early, always left the place clean, and explained all that they did. I was concerned that the work called for would damage a tree, and they went out of their way to make sure this didn't happen: they went to the structural engineer to see if they could eliminate a pier, and then deducted this from the price.

Review from Barbara B.
Berkeley, CA
We just finished having Alameda Structural replace part of our North Berkeley house foundation, and upgrade basement drainage and earthquake retrofit. We were new to this and anxious about it.. They were very reassuring and did a fabulous timely job, for a reasonable price. The owner, George Walton, and the job foreperson, Chris, went way beyond customary practice in responding to our questions, and making sure we were satisfied. George is a "no-nonsense" guy with a heart of gold. He has decades of experience, and it shows, in his ability to see what the job requires, and in the quality of the work done. We definitely would use them again, and we Highly Recommend.

You won't find a better contractor for your foundation. This outfit is very professional. The owner George is straight forward and completes the project as needed and solves the unknown problems without changing his bid. All his subcontractors as well as his men are polite and courteous. They minimized any disruptions to me and my family as well as to the integrity of the house. Best of all you are assigned a project manager, that keeps you informed daily about what's taking place and if I had any preferences when there was an option to. My project manager was Brian Bouchard and it was impossible to tell if he was working for the company or working for me. What a great feeling in knowing that someone was watching out for your interests as well . In addition to the foundation, I had them do some work on a time and material basis and it ended up saving me some money compared to other bids for the termite repair. What a pleasure considering how stressful a job like this can be.
LOOK NO FURTHER THEY ARE THE BEST! -
Review from Diane R.
San Leandro, CA
My husband and I recently purchased an 1865 built victorian in San Leandro. For as much as the house had been redone, it was still on a brick foundation. There was no way we were willing to risk our dream home on that foundation while living in the land of earthquakes, so we decided to get the foundation done. Yeah, it was a scary thought for us but the price we would pay if we lost our home was far greater than the cost of a new foundation.
I called several places for quotes and knew in speaking to George (the owner) of Alameda Structural on the phone and seeing reviews online that I had found the right company. George came out and did an inspection and gave me a price right away. Honestly, it was not the lowest price I had gotten but it certainly was nowhere near the highest. There was something about talking to George though that made me know this was "the guy" for the job and that it would be worth the extra money.
George gave me several long pages of references and I did call quite a few. A lot of them had been from jobs he had done years and years ago, which is what I wanted. I was concerned with how the work had held up over time. I spoke to three of the references and each one, years later, still raved about the quality of the work performed. They also each stated that the work was completed on time and the price met the original quote. I also noticed that each person was very happy to speak with me, which told me a lot about the impression that Alameda Structural had made.
Alameda Structural just completed their job at our house this week and we are thrilled. The quality is excellent. The workers were very professional and courteous. The job site was kept very clean. The forman, Brian, always kept me informed of everything.
As if all of this were not enough, the best thing I can say about them actually came from the building inspector who told me "You can sleep well at night. These guys did a fabulous job."
And for those of you who are "freaked out" over your house being lifted, I can tell you that my house is huge and old and I expected lots of cracking. I only had two cracks appear. Actually, I consider it to be only one because the second one is on a joint seam that was already very awkward. So really, I consider it to be no cracking.
I could not ask for better. I recommend these guys without reservations. They take pride in their work and show great integrity. -

After many unreturned calls for a request an estimate for a crack in the foundation over 2 months, George finally told me over the phone that he isn't interested in projects less than $25,000. He would be happy to come out and do a "foundation assessment" for $200. He will return your call right away if your project is $25k or more.
