My experience with Alameda Scooters was great.
From the 1st phone call with Elizabeth, I knew I was going to be listened to in terms of what I needed to purchase. My old scooter had just been totaled by a car (while parked) and I was pretty sad.
I ended up getting a Fly 150 La Vie and it has treated me very well so far.
In the 1st two weeks I got the scooter, it was unfortunately vandalized and Wayne was amazing and helped me get it back to its brand new state for a very small charge. He even came to SF to pick up and drop off the scooter and was very understanding of my disappointment and dismay.
Wayne and Elizabeth are very personable and they were committed to me being happy with my purchase. They stand behind their product 100 percent.
Definitely a great place ! -

I have been thinking about buying a scooter for a couple of years...when the price of gas goes up I am all about getting a scooter, and when the price of gas comes down I mellow out a bit on the idea of buying a scooter. Well, I finally bit the bullet and did it! I think having a new scooter shop here in my town (Alameda) was the clincher. It made it too easy!
Wayne and Elizabeth are the owners, and the nicest, most patient people. They really take the time to show you all of the specifics of the scooter, and talked TO you and not over your head. There was no assumption that I must know something about these things. One of the best things was that there is no hard sell. You get a lot of information and answers to all of your questions, and no hard sell after that. I went back a couple of times, and they were just as patient each time. The scooters they carry are great and they sell themselves!
Of course i needed to have the red scooter with the red helmet! They just got some different models today, and they are more guy friendly. A guy would look really good on one of them. I loved my red one and the retro look it had. Maybe not as cool for a guy.
The paperwork is all done for you, including DMV stuff, so I don't have to deal with DMV for the license plate and whatever. They take care of it all. I also can take my scooter to Alameda Scooters to have any service work done on it, and it is all done right on the premises.
This is my first day of being a scooter owner...I can't wait until tomorrow to practice on my new toy. -

DO NOT BUY A SCOOTER HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the douchebag guy told me there was a year parts and service on my scooter i bought a couple months ago, then when my scooter broke after less than 2000 miles, i find out that he doesnt even work on the scooters he sells. he puts me on the phone with the owner of the scooter company who tells me i have to take it to get fixed to THE OTHER ALAMEDA SCOOTER PLACE called SCOOTER IMPORTERS (go there instead, they are really nice guys, and have a million times better selection) -

Great service, and affordable prices. Really nice people, too. I wish they had more "stuff" - y'know, like helmets, jackets and locks that I could waste my money on while I was there. Easy to find location. With advance notice, you could drop your bike off for service, go tool around Alameda, and pick up the bike later that afternoon.

My mom decided to buy a scooter to counter the high gas prices and to use for her local Alameda travel. She visited Alameda Scooters a couple times before deciding on a scooter to purchase. During each visit the staff was more than happy to answer all of her questions and help her to pick out the scooter that was right for her. She is now the proud owner of a cute bright red scooter that you can find her on cruising the streets of A-town!

Great service, good selection and competitive pricing. I'm not at all a scooter kind of guy, I really don't know how they work or what qualities would be good in one. But after meeting Wayne and Elizabeth, I feel that I've been put on the right path. They were really helpful in telling me and my girlfriend what to look for with our needs in mind. We left with a scooter that day, and they even took us out to make sure we knew how to get home on the thing without bodily harm (we only live a few blocks away).

I've been begging my wife to let me ride again for 28 years. with the price of gas at $4.35 my pleading paid off. I was allowed to have scooter, not motorcycle by all mean but at least i am once again on two wheel. I looked around a few dealers around the bay area and many hours on the web i decided to do my purchase with a local business. Elizabeth and Wayne are such good people, I feel good to give them my business. I had the scooter for about 2 months. 1100 miles later, i loved every moment that I am on the bike. Been on the freeway a few times but I don't these 150cc bike do well on high speed. 60+mph. (it is fast enough. a little un-sturdy at high speed. Any thing below 50 mph rides like a dream. Service is great from Wayne. no complaint.

Sooo, i have had my scooter for about a year now and I have not been good about taking care of it, my bad. I called to set up a service appointment and left a message but never got a call back. I called again and they blew me off. The guy at the shop had a bad attitude and wasn't willing to work with me on getting it serviced. The scoot is sitting in my garage still in need of service and I have to find somewhere to take it. i was planning on looking at bigger scooters or maybe a small motorcycle while I got my scooter serviced but I never got to that point. They were good for buying the scooter but super bad for service.

My sister came here to purchase an electric scooter/moped for my nephew's birthday. He picked out the one he wanted and she went and paid for it. They (Alameda Scooters) then proceeded to have her fill out forms regarding DMV which prompted her to ask what these forms were for. They then proceeded to tell her about liability for accidents (which he is 16 y/o...who thought this would be like buying an actual motorcycle??). She then told them that she would have to think about it. She returned to the store a couple of days later to ask for a refund. They told her that she wouldn't be able to get all of her money back because some of the money went to DMV fees (which she wasn't aware of). Our question is how do you pay fees on something that you don't have?? How does someone sell you something without telling you all of the information when they know it's for a 16 y/o? Maybe other Alamedians don't mind co-signing for scooters for their 16 y/o when they could just get them a car. Maybe they just needed the sale. But they didn't get one.

I bought a scooter from Alameda scooter a week ago. I'm very satisfied with their service. I never owned or operated a scooter or motercycle before and Wayne was really great at answering my questions. I had a lot of silly questions since I'm a novice rider and Wayne was very patient and helpfull. I would highly recomend them.
I bought a 250 ssr scooter and I'm really having a blast on it. I've even taken it out on the freeway a couple of times. This scooter is amazing, I still can't believe that I got such a great and versitle scooter for such a low price. I'm really going to be saving a lot of money on gas. -

All I can say is that they are honest and never recommend service that is not required. Love them!!! Bought another helmet there and the prices are fantastic. Thank you and stay in Alameda.
