    Thanks albert!
I moved to town 2 months ago and spent a week checking online and in stores for a mattress which is of good quality and of course for a price I can handle.
At first i was a little suspicious about all this yelpers' five star reviews for a place called Aladdin rugs? Hmm.. Is it a real mattress store?
After a week sleeping on the floor I finally took off to albert't store, and it turned out he sold me a brand new in plastic beautiful Siemens for 300 bucks! The mattress was soooo nice and heavy ,since i don't have a car Albert helped me delivered it with his own suv during his store hour, omg, what can I say, the mattress is better than those six, seven hundred dollars ones I checked out.
I love my mattress! Thanks albert!

I actually came twice; the first time I came around 4pm, door was locked, mattresses outside, no one answering the phone listed on here. Hm, ok try again tomorrow.

Drive over around 2pm: door locked again! As I walked back to my car, a friendly looking grandpa-of-sorts parked in a gold SUV waves me over and asks me in a French accent if I was trying to get into the store. AHHH this must be the famous ALBERT!!! He's just as friendly as everyone describes on here and let me lie on mattresses on the sidewalk. It is a tiny store, but I'd rather come here and have to choose from two great mattresses instead of a store full of crappy ones that aren't right for me.
If at first you don't succeed, keep trying, it's worth it!!! Look for the gold SUV or call his cell.

UPDATE** I tried to help my friend get a mattress after loving mine, but since she's coming from San Mateo, I had to do more planning. We both called his cell and waited a few hours. Nothing. Frustrating. Minus star. Oh Albert, how you make us work for it.

Albert is not French as someone wrote here: he comes from Morocco, and this is the reason why you can talk to him even in French. It was a wonderful experience yesterday in his shop! We needed a Cal King size bed and decided to go there because of the yelpers' five star reviews. We just moved from Italy and we had no idea of the market of mattresses here in the US, but we knew that we needed something good and cheap. There, we found everything: Cal King size mattress, and spring boxes for 350$. You will try the mattresses on the street - that is a little bit strange but works - and then, Albert and his sons can help you put everything on your truck.
This is good! Thank you Albert!

Albert the owner deserves each and every star that's been given him so far. I was moving from the Outer Richmond to the SOMA area, but needed a new bed. I had resigned myself to looking at deals from Costco, and convinced myself I was okay with that. I even considered going to Keetsa/other mattress stores.

Until Vincent K. told me that Steve H. had bought his mattress, box spring, and bed frame from Aladdin Rugs down the street for $300 or so. Passing by this corner spot often, I never thought twice about peeking in to see what the rugs looked like because in all honesty - when was I ever going to need a Persian rug? But times were tough for Aladdin Rugs, so Albert shifted his business model to sell mattresses. He said the change (along with his great customer service and glowing reviews on "The Yelp") saved his business and is where the majority of his money comes from.

Sure, if you're looking for your lifetime bed, maybe this isn't your cup of tea. But if you're like me and wanted a good, solid bed that wasn't just resting on limp IKEA planks, then come here. Albert lets you lay down on the mattress, inside or out of the store, feel around, and try others. He even shows you a range of beds depending on the how firm or plush you want your bed. It can be hit or miss, however, depending on his supply the day you go. I'd recommend coming over a period of times if you want to make a more thoughtful decision; if you aren't super picky, you should be able to secure a mattress in one visit.

My friend and I both bought beds on the same day. We each paid $350 in cash (but you can also pay with credit card), and Albert included a metal bed frame along with our queen-sized mattresses/box springs. He even helped us load up our truck because, in his words, "when I see money, I get STRONGER!"

What's more is that he's honest and trustworthy. I looked at a bed that someone had staked a claim on, but hadn't paid for it yet. Albert told me that if the guy didn't come back in 2 hours he would let me try it out, but he said he didn't feel right letting me buy it before then (the guy eventually came back, btw).

He should change the PLUOY sticker on his window to "People Love ME On Yelp!"

If you're looking for the best deal in town for a mattress, this will be IT! I saw how high the ratings were and I had to see it myself and Albert definitely delivered.

I knew that I wanted a Queen with a pillow top, plush with a firm underside. It's quite a request (and I was also testing his selection) and he had a brand new plastic wrapped Sealy World Class pillow top plush with firm interior. He quoted me $350... and was so confident that it would be the lowest price that when I said that I wanted to shop around his reply was "no problem, in act I have Sleep Train on speed dial if you'd like to call them..." I googled the exact mattress and the best price online was $800 not including sales tax!

I said I only had $300 cash and he replied that he'd throw in the metal frame ($50 value) and box spring for free if I paid $350 cash and that he'd omit the sales tax saving me an addition 9.25%.

All in all, I got about $1000 worth of a top end mattress, box spring, and metal frame for $350. I can't say how awesome of an experience this was.

    Albert is amazing!

Read the reviews online and had to see the place for myself. To my surprise it was all everyone said and more! Needed a full bed for $300, but what I got was a queen! This man is the best, pay in cash and he will spare you the sales tax. This place is truly one of a kind and I recommend you get your new bed here!!

    I love love love Albert!

I bought my first mattress from him 4 years ago when I first came to SF that I still sleep on to this day, because it's pretty much the best. It's a Queen Serta pillow top that I got with the box spring and frame for an insane price.

And last week my bf and I got a King size mattress that Albert is holding for us til this weekend, since we couldn't arrange delivery on the spot. It's an amazing mattress and a superb deal! I am super excited.

    Yay for Aladdin!

We just moved into a new apartment that has +1500 square feet of wood floors.  Needless to say, we are in the market for rugs.  In particular, we've been struggling to find a rug for our little girl's room -- purple shag.

There are a lot of rug stores in SF, but not a lot of purple shag rugs!  After looking online at probably 10,000 rugs, going to maybe 10 other stores in SF, we finally made our way out to Clement.  Maybe we got lucky, but within 5 minutes we found exactly what we were looking for -- a 9 x 6 rug for $175.  Definitely a good price, since the lowest we could find at most other places was $400-500.  Plus this is a Shaw Disney rug, so it is a quality rug.

I would suggest if you are looking for low cost rugs to also check out IKEA, Target, and Home Depot.  The selection is not large at any of these, but we did get a decent  5 x 8 at Home Depot for $65.

Plus, the owner carried the rug to our car and loaded it for us.  Great service!

    This place rocks.

We walked in, and told him we wanted a queen size bed.  He told us we could get a full set for 200, 300, or 500.  We got the best one, the $500 deal, which included a Sealy BeautyRest pillow top mattress with a Stern and Foster box spring and a bed frame.  All were brand new, and just what we wanted.

The man at the store put the mattresses (that are all wrapped in plastic) onto the sidewalk, and we layed down on them to test them out.

This man is very nice, and I LOVE OUR NEW BED!!!  i slept so well last night, and I am very happy with our purchase.

I recommend this place to anyone in the market for a new bed!!!

I found this place through the positive local reviews on Yelp, and it totally lived up to the billing (thanks!). My wife and I had looked at many other places for rugs, but either the design or the price was wrong for us.

Within 10 minutes, we had found the perfect rug - a wool, machine-woven, 8 x 11 for around $400 (probably about 50% of what it would be in a different store), and the owner folded it and helped me get it into a civic. When I was going to pay, I realized I had forgotten my wallet at home - so he just let me leave with the rug in the car on my word to come back. Of course I did, but - wow.

Truly 5 stars for the deal and the service.

I found a great mattress here for a good price!

From reading the other Yelp reviews, I knew I had to call ahead to find out if the shop owner (Albert) would be there.  The phone number listed on Yelp is for the actual store, which he may or may not pick up if he is there.  (He's the only one running the store, so he could be with other customers or anywhere else.)  If you could obtain his cell phone number (listed on the door), then you could reach him more easily.

His store is tiny and unassuming, mostly filled with various oriental rugs.  I told him I was looking for a mattress, and he took me to the side of the store, where he had two garages stuffed with mattresses. All of the mattresses are floor models that he obtains from other stores, but he does have some brand new mattresses that were simply leftover from other stores' inventories.  I wasn't quite satisfied with the selection that he showed me, so he he told me that he had another store about a mile east from there.  Since I didn't have a car, he ended up driving me over to the other store, and showed me the selection there.  I ended up with a brand new full-sized pillowtop with boxspring and bedframe for $425.

Cash is recommended for payment.  Credit cards are accepted, but with an extra 10% charge.

As for delivery, I think the general policy is that you have to arrange for it yourself.  However, my original delivery plan fell through, but Albert offered the help of his friend for $30, and he was able to deliver within a couple of hours that I requested.  His friend (completely unaffiliated with Aladdin Rugs) was super friendly and had helpful general tips for me about my furniture.

It's been an overall fantastic experience.  This should be your first stop for a mattress!

I will vouch for this place as well.

Like many others, I had just moved to the city and was looking for an affordable, sufficiently comfortable mattress.  I was a little surprised by and maybe skeptical of the overwhelmingly positive reviews on Yelp but tried my luck nonetheless.

Albert was great and his delivery friend also helped to fix the bed frame I had haplessly put together.  It's a nice way to support an independent business and get a quality, affordable mattress in the process.

Albert is incredibly nice and easy to deal with. I kept having to change the time I was going to pick up the mattress due to a mover snafu (on a Sunday, when he's usually closed!) and he was very amenable.

Not just that, but I got a comfortable $500 full mattress for $250 including the boxspring and frame!!

    Albert is the best!

Thanks, Yelp!  I got my mattress (nicknamed "The Cloud") from Albert due to all of the good reviews.  So glad I did!  Why I'm such a fan:

    1)  Really great and honest customer service (I told him that I'd gone to the Macy's outlet in Union City and he told me that if I could get a mattress cheaper there, I should do it!).

    2)  Unbeatable prices - you can't beat them with a bat.

    3)  Unique experience - yes, it was kooky to be lying on a mattress in the middle of the sidewalk as people walked by with their family, dogs, etc...but it was also very memorable and entertaining.

    Thanks, Albert!

Like a hummingbird or a helicopter, this place can fly in place.  It hovers and hovers, and like a hummingbird one can miss it without a close peer in the right spot, but like a helicopter it can blow you away with the force of its deals...

The mattress I got here is worth more than I paid for it, and the gentle sleep it allows gives me the calm of a hummingbird and the ferociousness of a helicopter...

The owner, I forget his name, even strapped my newly-bought, show-room mattress onto the top of his car, and drove it to my apartment.  Lovely man, he was.

For those budgeting, t is nice to not worry about how to get a mattress...this is how you get your mattress.  Hop onto your hummingbird, and copter on over, you won't be disappointed.

(PS I have no comment on his carpets, but I bet they are magic)

Great service, very sweet man! He even offered to let us bring home the 2 rugs we were debating between, choose one when we got home, and then bring back the one we did not want. We ended up bringing home one, looks great in our house. We won't be returning it. He helped us put our new rug in the car. Great selections, too. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because he said the rug is made of wool, but looks, feels synthetic, not like wool. Other than that, we are very pleased with our purchase and will go back again in the future.

This place is awesome!  The mattresses are incredibly inexpensive and the owner is highly quirky.  The guy basically has a bunch of mattresses in a couple different storage closets.  The mattresses are samples from department stores that he's somehow managed to acquire.  When you want to try out a mattress he just plops them down on the sidewalk and you try them out.  I ended up getting a quality queen size mattress and box spring for $250.

Please don't go anywhere else if looking for a Mattress or Rug.  This store offers the greatest personal customer service and lowest prices.

Albert has the lowest prices on name-brand 100% awesome Matresses and rugs. I just picked up a Cal-King Tempurpedic-style matress and box spring for $500. Retail for the same mattress in a store on Geary is $1399.

It was pretty awesome pulling out mattresses onto the Clement St. sidewalk and trying them out. I *surprisingly* didn't feel uncomfortable at all, but that was probably due to the comfort of the mattress.

I'm tellin' ya, if you're looking for a new fine rug or mattress, check this place first; It'll be your only stop.

I'm not really going to say anything that hasn't already been said about this business, but felt compelled to give my 2 cents worth because of the overall enjoyable experience (as well as the fact that I like to make my opinion known come hell or high water).

I found Aladdin thanks to the always helpful, if not sometimes quirky Yelp community and I am so glad that I did.  I had done a little shopping around and really couldn't believe how much other businesses were charging for rugs.  Not only does Albert have a very comprehensive selection, but his prices are reasonable, if not downright inexpensive.  I hesitate to use the word cheap because I don't want people to think that it reflects on the quality of the rugs - they are top-notch.

Albert took the time to show me his entire selection and even offered to let me take a couple rugs home to compare in my apartment.  When I got home, I realized that one of the runners was a little shorter than what I needed (my mistake, not Albert's), and he said that I could exchange it for a longer one, or if I couldn't find one to my liking, he would refund the cost of the initial rug.

Too often, it seems like customer service has become an after-thought and a dying art.  It's nice to see that there are still people out there who still believe this to be a tenet of doing good business.  I will definitely come back for all my rug needs as well as refer anybody who is in the market for one.  Kudos to you, Albert!

    Ok so here's the dilio:

1- you need to get this guy's cell number meaning he isn't always at the store.  He lives a couple blocks away but he's not always at home either so by the time I looked for parking, parked, and walked over there it was a good 20 minutes.  I called him to find out he was gone for the night. Bummer.  His cell phone number is on the door so I would suggest pulling up, getting his number, and calling him BEFORE you look for parking.

2- They are not "brand new" mattresses.  I asked him where he gets them and he says they are previous floor displays.  So although no one has slept on them before, many, repeat many people have touched, laid on them, whatever.

3- Prices depend on what type of mattress you get. I just told him I wanted the cheapest Queen he had which he said would be $200.

4- there is NO delivery.  BUT he was super nice and helped me strap my mattress on my jetta.  It worked out fine.

I looked at every mattress place on Geary and the cheapest was $300 and the mattress looked horrible.  I ended up with a Sealy firm mattress and some random boxspring (not all his boxspring/mattress match!).  I'm happy but the reason for the 3 stars is the inconvenience of having him not always at the store and the fact that I still get kinda weirded out when I think that many people have sampled this mattress before.

Oh also, on the Clemente side of his store are a bunch of garages.  Those are where he keeps the mattresses.

We were in the market for some rugs for our house.  We found Aladdin via a trusty Yelp search.  I agree with what everyone said here!  Albert has the best prices in town for rugs.  The rugs are all Italian made and the quality is comparable to what you will find at other high end furniture stores.

Albert took the time to help us out and he even checked his stockroom to see if there was anything we liked.  Who would have thought that that little store is stuffed with merchandise!

I do have to say that Albert offered old fashioned customer service.  We were undecided on the dining room rug because we weren't sure what size worked. Albert offered to loan the rug to us to try out on our dining room for FREE (yes, no payment, no downpayment.  We can give it back after we tried it out)!  Now that's a deal!

Thanks to Yelpers, I found Aladdin Rugs!! He happened to be at lunch when my boyfriend and I showed up, but he returned very quickly when I gave him a call. When we told him we were debating between two very different rugs he offered to let us take both home and bring back whichever we didn't want. I couldn't have asked for more -- he was extremely friendly and helpful, and I'm ecstatic with the rug we brought home! We got a brand new, 8'x11', beautiful wool rug for less than half the price we would have paid elsewhere.

Will definitely be coming back for any rug (or mattress) needs!

I dropped in one day for a new mattress after reading the reviews on Yelp.  I was looking for a full size set.  Unfortunately he did not have anything in stock, but took my number.  2 days later he gave me a call - he gets new shipments very often.  It seems like his source is Macy's trying to get rid of old inventory.
The price was fantastic and the mattress quality was top notch.  Much cheaper than going into some sleazy place like sleeptrain and paying triple . . .
I would not hesitate to go again and will be back soon for a queen set.

Gotta concur with pretty much everyone else -- Albert is awesome, as is his store. That said, its kind of a crapshoot what you'll find. He has no website or set inventory, so it really depends on the day which rugs he has in stock. We found two we really liked -- good quality and best prices around. Bottom line -- if money is a primary concern, but you still want a decent rug, Albert is your guy. Bring cash to get the best deal.

My son just bought a mattress and box spring for $250.....unbelievable pricing.  When we first walked up I thought there's no way we'll be buying a bed from what appears to be a hole in the wall. Then we met the owner Albert who made the bed buying experience so easy.  He has beautiful top brand &  quality beds/mattresses. Albert is the best and you can't find a better bargain for a brand new bed.  He is very honest too.

After my purchase here a few weeks ago, I am still excited and happy with Aladdin. Over ten years of living in the outer richmond, I never even thought about going to Aladdin's until Yelp. Moving to a new place, I was desperately looking for a cool cheap rug to complement my new living space. Stepped inside the store and I was amazed at how busy Albert was. I give him 2 stars for his supreme multitasking skills: handling one group of guys asking about prices on a mattress; another three guys putting a mattress in their car, and one couple looking at rugs. Plus me: an open minded girl hoping to find her future living room shag here. I was doubtful until I spotted a wool shagged red 5x8 rug hidden in the mess. Albert let me know there are multiple colors and sizes. I ask to see a white version of this beautiful  rug and he brought a new one down in less than five minutes. As the smart yelper I am, I ask if I can get the price lower (read that he bargains hehe) and he quickly lowered the price by $30 if I paid in cash. I was sold!!!! He also helped me put the 5x8 in my car. Weeks later, I found a similar worser quality rug at Walmart for a higher price. I was sooo happy I made my purchase at Aladdins! Definitely  a GO TO place for Rugs.

    2 stars - multitasking skills
    1 star - customer service
    1 star- quality rugs
    1 star- cheap cheap cheap!

I have never written a review for anything before but after getting my mattress today I had to.

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A MATTRESS GO AND SEE ALBERT.  He is the nicest man in the world and has good mattresses at great prices.  I am a student and had been looking for a full size mattress for about 3 weeks.  I had finally given up when I saw his store on YELP last night and went down there today.  I now have a new bed, with boxspring, for 175.  And its a very good mattress.  Trust me, I've seen a lot over the last month.  He gets them from Macy's and sells them for a great price.

If you or anyone you know is looking for a mattress, go to Aladdin first.  Call before you go, because he is extremely nice and often helps people take their purchases to their home, but will return timely.

I didn't know there were still people this nice in the world.  Go and see him.
