I've got a beautiful Zenith radio inherited from my grandparents and I wanted to make it functional.  Many happy memories listening to that, especially Giant's games.

This is the only place in the Bay Area I found who could fix it for me.  I've begged him to stay alive for a very long time.  He's only 90 and we should give him hundreds of accolades and dollars.

If you've got an old radio, this is your very competent and knowledgeable master in his craft.

I took my old RCA Victor Radio to Mr. Wentzel so he can do his handy work. Walking into his shop , is like going back in time. He has been there since 1950 9 years longer than I have been alive! He is  nice and polite and eager to share his stories and his knowledge, I wish there were more shops like this in town. This is truly one of those mom and pop shops. I wish him all the luck and i hope he is training someone to continue , when he no longer can. I salute John Wentzel!
Drop by and see for yourself.

I went here last week to see if Mr. Wentzel could repair an old vintage KLH radio of mine.  Unfortunately the store has been closed for well over a year now.  I called the business phone number which still works and the gentleman who answered was quite helpful and directed me to a friend of his who could do the work.  Apparently he's selling the antique radios he has in his inventory if anyone is interested.  I was only able to look through the window but it looks like all tube radios from the 30's to the 50's.
