Great place -- amazing look and food.  Nice to actually be able to get a curry that's spicy for once!

The Thai food here is obviously not going to be as good as what I had in California so I wasn't going to be blown away. However, for Montgomery, it's passable. Their noodle dishes really outshine their rice dishes. The portions aren't that big and for two people, we had to order three and that adds up to about $30. If you come here and have no idea about Thai food, order any noodle dish and you'll be fine. If you can't handle spicy, ask for it to be nonspicy and they'll take care of that for you.

Other reviewers here are the right about the prices. The service here is alright although our waiter was constantly distracted by the television and I literally had to wave at him to come to our table even though I was sitting in front of the television. That part was really annoying.

The environment and set-up is really pretty so don't let the outside fool you. It has the Thai feel to it. The food comes out fast so you won't have to wait long either.

There isn't a whole lot of Thai restaurants around Montgomery that I know of.  I went to try this place out and the prices were a bit high.  I ordered Phad Thai and it was around $10.  I wouldn't really mind the price but the portion they gave was so small so it wasn't worth $10.  The Phad Thai didn't even fill me up to be honest.  The taste isn't as great as I expected.  The noodles they used was some transparent kind so it was different.  I expected the usual noodles that people always use when making Phad Thai.

I don't hate this place because I love food.  So before you go be sure to consider the price, portion, and the taste.

The food is delicious.  The best Thai food I've ever had has been at Ala Thai.  I generally ordered either pad thai or panang noodles, both with chicken, with spring rolls (absolutely transcendent) and a Thai tea.  The food has never, ever disappointed me.  Sadly, the old (original) location on Federal Drive is no longer open; Ala Thai expanded and opened two new locations in Montgomery.  Something got lost in translation when they moved their Federal Drive location to the Ann Street location, unfortunately.  The food is still as divine, but the service and atmosphere went *way* downhill (hence 4/5 stars).  I hope it's just growing pains and that they get their front of the house back up to the same level as their kitchen has consistently been at... which is superb.
