Dr. Devereux was recommended by my wife. Ever since I moved into town 6 years ago this has been my dentist. Very good location next to Ala Moana Center, they validate parking.
Sharon is my hygenist, she does a good job and even told me about sealant for my molars which I had done.
They are always busy to best to make an appointment in advance. -

I was looking for a dentist reasonably close to my neighborhood and, when playhawaii offered a deal for teeth cleaning at Ala Moana Dental Care, I suddenly had the perfect opportunity to try them out. Overall it was a good experience. Here's the scoop:
-they have validated parking; there are garage entrances on kapiolani as well as on the mall side of the building
-if you park in the building garage and take the elevator to the lobby, you will need to walk outside to find the entrance to their suite
-they have a very clean, modern reception area; while it's fish bowl like with all the glass, it still has a bit of the architectural digest feel to it
-the employees at the reception desk, the hygienist Lori and Dr. Devereux were all very nice
The end result? Lori was conscientious and did a nice job with the cleaning. Dr. Devereux gave my teeth a thorough inspection towards the end of the appointment, thus further confirming that the cavity creeps had not unexpectedly appeared. After only one visit, I'm not ready to give 5 stars but it definitely was a promising start! -

I really wanted to like this place! The office is very modern, everyone, including the dentists are very nice and they have convenient hours, open late and on Saturdays. However, I had a tooth extraction done there in January and I find myself in May still in pain. Maybe I should not have it scheduled on Friday the 13th!! So it might be my fault after all. I have been told that my tooth was difficult to remove, then I had a condition called "dry socket", that did not feel very good. After a couple of weeks taking strong painkillers it appeared that my mouth stopped constantly hurting for a while. Then suddenly the pain returned. I decided to check it out at a different dentist this time. After a set of x-rays, the new dentist asked me if the extraction was performed by a dentist... (Ummm, yeah, what, did he think I performed it myself?) Apparently the whole root was left in my jaw after the extraction, so the extraction was not complete and that what was now causing problems. So - off to an oral surgeon I go!
My verdict is - they are probably fine with routine procedures, but I would not trust them with more complicated things. Or I was just unlucky....Comment from David M. of Ala Moana Dental Care 5/3/2012

So happy I found this place;) I was referred by a friend. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, And dr deverauax was really nice, and very thorough, I will be going back, and reffering Honolulu dental to others!

Love this place I was so scared to go to the dentist and they made me feel so comfortable!! I had two root canals in a week...I won't lie it was a little painful but they did awesome work!!!! I recommend this dentist to everyone! Both Dr. Devereux and Dr. Matto are awesome!! =)

I am one of those black swans that does not mind the dentist...now when I am told I have a cavity that is a different game. Takes it from Baseball of which I am very familiar with to Cricket a touch out there.
I went in on 11-11-11, during the 'heat' of APEC. (side comment, the protesters were pathetic and boring, the lack of energy was disappointing). Okay, listen up ya'll...Sharon cleaned my teeth. She is AMAZING. Legit songs play in my head when I think about the thorough job she did. I am not bothered by pain to get a good cleaning, but she does not even prick you by accident. If I were you I would race down to this place and get Sharon to clean your teeth. AMAZING. She works M-F, no Saturdays for her! If I had it like her I would not either. She is an asset to the group, and SHE keeps me going back.
The front desk peeps are fabulous too! They are competent and helpful...and friendly. A fabulous combo.
I was able to see Dr. Matto. He is great, and I think he should be a Special Rec Dentist/Doc too. There was a possible cavity in my tooth, and he and his team made sure that it was not. Sealant never hurt onyone, but tooth decay always creates sad pandas.
All and all fanstastico. -

Dr. Devereux and the staff are extremely nice. They put me at ease, explaining every step of the procedure as he worked. Don't love going to the dentist, but if I must then I choose Dr. Devereux.

I am always a little fearful when it comes to dentists. The worst words that I can think of are "you got a cavity," followed by, "let's drill!" Fortunately, I have not heard that here.
I recently had to come to here because of a chipped tooth. I was really worried and Dr. Devereux and Dr. Matto responded promptly to my nighttime phone call on a Sunday! They listened and quickly gave me a temporary solution until they could see me on the very next morning in their offices.
Apparently, old fillings expand over time and this had caused my tooth to chip. I was so happy to be able to seen right away. My concerns were put to rest and I had a temporary crown put in. About two weeks later, I have my permanent crown in place. Dr. Devereux expertly did everything with minimal pain and competitive pricing.
Parking is in the same building as the office. The office can be found on the first floor and is very large compared to other dental offices. Free validation for parking with every visit.

Very Good Service, Unexpectedly Good Value.
I had been going to another dentist for years that I was relatively happy with, but I thought I'd give Ala Moana Dental Care a try because they are in walking distance from home.
I don't have dental insurance so I would typically pay about $175 for a cleaning, dentist check-up and an x-ray - which I thought was reasonable. I went in to Ala Moana Dental Care expecting to pay $49 for just a cleaning (which would have been a pretty good deal to me) and found out I get all 3 services for $49! I thought there had to be a catch but there wasn't - so far anyways :)
The staff was friendly and very efficient. Facilities were new and top-notch. I'd recommend it to anyone. This was only my first visit so I have no experience with their more advanced services. -

For the procedure that was done on June 21.
After having my 2 wisdom tooth pulled 5 days ago, my other tooth started hurting next. Ohhh.....the pain is unbearable that i called Ala Moana Dental Care and asked for an appointment on the same day. Right after work i went in for a root canal treatment with Dr. Matto who is an expert great dentist who stopped my pain. And even after the numbing medicine, I didn't feel any pain from the procedure. Dr Matto is a dentist angel sent from heaven for the people who are scared to go to the dentist, like me. My goodness, where else can you find a dental clinic that will accomodate you last minute, and will stay late at work to take care of patients.
Thank you Dr Matto and staff for helping me even you are busy. I am very greatful for your understanding, care and expertise. -

Dr. Devereux is currently managing my invisalign treatment and I'm very very pleased so far. I'm almost 1/4 of the way through, and I can already see the improvement in my teeth! The invisalign option is great since it's well..invisible...and they didn't even need to extract any teeth! He seems to really listen to what you want out of the process which is important, because I've been to dentists before that can be to focused on the technical aspects of the procedures vs what the patient actually wants. The practice offers a lot of cosmetic options as well as basic dentistry services.
The office is relaxing, spa-like and everyone of the staff members I've worked with have been very sweet and accommodating. I've had questions about my trays and Lots of parking available (just park at the mall next door or they can validate your parking in the building) and a convenient in-town location. -

I had Dr Devereaux do teeth whitening for my wife and I a while back. We were both very happy with the work done. The staff was friendly and helpful and seemed to be pretty knowledgeable with our questions about our procedure.
The office is very nice. My wife said to her it felt like being in a nice spa. Dr. Devereaux was great to work with and I will definitely use him again.
One caveat on the 5 star rating. I have only had work there done once, but the one time was as good as I can expect going to the dentist to be. -

As a malahini, I needed to find a good local dentist for a cleaning and proactive maintenance. I've seen the same dentist for over 30 years - (since I've had teeth) and was a little apprehensive of starting over with someone new.
The office is conveniently located on Kapiolani, there is ample parking and they kindly validate. I was warmly greeted by the front desk staff and seen promptly for my appointment.
The hygienist was friendly and personable and made me feel at ease. And she asking too many questions because that's just awkward when they're hands are in your mouth.
Oh and I didn't get that "you don't floss everyday!?!" guilt trip. Thank goodness.
Dr. Matto was highly professional, thorough and efficient. He's also very proactive and made suggestions to avoid future uncomfortable dental procedures.

I use to make every excuse not to go to the dentist until my tooth pain was too much for me to handle and that is when I have found Dr. Devereux and his wonderful team. They will go out of their way to make every visit stress free and pleasant.
Dr. Devereux is a perfectionist and he will make sure that every tooth he fixes will look perfect. He will explain in detail the pros/cons of various procedures. He uses the top of the line equipment and the latest technology. Most of all, he will make sure that you do not feel any discomfort throughout the procedure.
The folks at the front desk are excellent about scheduling appointments, following up with reminders, and making adjustments to fit my schedule.

The BEST dentist. This place is great. I was looking for a dentist closer to my work and not only were they closer they are a lot nicer too. The place looks and feels more like a spa than dental office and the staff is friendly and more importantly gentle. It think anyone would be hard pressed to find a better office.

What can I say I am a major dentist phobe, the thought of the dentist makes me want to throw up.My tooth cracked and I had no choice I had to get a root canal. Dr. Devereux was amazing I felt very little pain and was comfortable through the procedure. I would recomend them to anyone :)
