5/5!
Al Sultan is a must for any fan of Middle-Eastern Cuisine.
First off, the staff and owner are extremely friendly and can help you pick out something you'd enjoy if you're never had Middle-Eastern Cuisine.
My recommendation would have to be chicken shawarma. The chicken is so tender, and the amount size is ridiculous!
The baba and hummus are amazing as well. And don't forget their grape leaves!
Al Sultan is all around a great restaurant. -

Craving middle Eastern cuisine, you'll be happy you stopped here.
Although the neighborhood isn't the grandest, the food here is excellent and the service couldn't be better.
We were seated right away in a booth near a window. Lots of windows and light in this restaurant. Light music playing a few other tables enjoying their lunch. Great menu with lots to choose from and moderate pricing. The server quickly took our beverage order, offered lemon with our waters and dropped off a small plate LOADED with pickled turnips and peppers. My sister was thrilled with the overflowing picked turnips, not my thing but I think I spotted her eyes rolling back in her head and a sigh of pleasure escape her lips.
We ordered the Moujadara ($8.95) and the Falefel Plate ($7.95), which we found out was enough for four people! The Moujadara was excellent but we were surprised it was more rice than lentils. The Falefel was deliciously crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked inside, seasoned perfect with 6 pieces and a yogurt sauce on the side.
We also split a hommous plate. The hommous was the perfect consistency. Let's not forget there was soup and salad included with our entree's. We both selected the Fattoush salad and it was AMAZING. Dressing was light, toasted pita was crispy and the portion was large.
We used many carry out box's and were glad to do so, it meant more for later! -

This is my coworkers and my go-to Middle Eastern restaurant. Admittedly, the only thing I've ever had there is chicken fatoosh, but that's because it's my favorite and it's yummy. Their hummus is pretty good too and the prices are reasonable. We are always greeted by the owner and the wait staff is usually attentive and friendly.
The only problem we ever had was when we ordered for a large group and we told them we needed an order of chicken that had not touched bread (the person needed gluten free meal). They served her meal on a pita in a box labeled "no bread," so when we took it back, we were told she didn't have to eat it. We thought that was an odd response, they made it right in the end. -

We thought the food was just OK.
The salad clearly came from a bag as it had the familiar taste and usual bagged salad cabbage added to it. The pitas were not fresh and were served in sandwich bags. The lamb was overcooked and dry.
Most notable was the hummus and chicken shish tawook - really flavorful.
The building looks like it was a greasy diner type of place before. The interior is cheap looking and they could really do without the dust collecting silk flower vases on the tables. The service was really great, our waitress was friendly and attentive. -

I grabbed a quick lunch before heading to the airport, service was fast, friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. Hummus & falafel plate with a side tabbouleh salad was way more than I could eat but the flavors were phenomenal. Hummus was like nothing I've had before, almost buttery in its consistency and flavorful but not overwhelming. Just perfect.

Pricey, but the amount they give you is alot. The salad is very flavoraful. I got the beef kabob. Meat was cooked the way I'd liked it. Plenty of rice, but the rice wasn't so great. I was a bit disgusted to find a 1/2 inch coarse hair in btw the purple radish thing, that I didn't eat. Otherwise, it was okay.

While it might look like a little hole in the wall place, you'll be very surprised. The food is amazing, and a heck of a lot better than some of the Middle Eastern places you'll find in Dearborn.
The owner is always there, and greets everyone. The staff is very attentive, and we love going there.
Their hummus is the best! The Sultan Special for 2 is the way to go. Tons of food, including leftovers.
Big named restaurants can not even compare! -

I love al sultan. I usually get takeout from there, and the service is always great, my order is always correct, and the food never fails. They have my favorite hummus in the area, and I love the falafel. Everyone who likes middle eastern food should try this place. Quality Noms.

We go here at least once a week, the food is great, but its the staff I love. The owners are always there, the wait staff is very friendly and helpful. The food has great and full of flavor. It comes quick. My 3 year old loves this place, she has to have her own hummus.

This place is great! THE BEST BABAGANUSH IN TOWN. I have tried other places and no one can compare to Al Sultan. You can get good hummus anywhere but great Baba is a find. The service is friendly and it always seem like the owner is there. It is by far my favorite.
