Orange, CA
Fresh food, great prices and lovely people. The Decor is not my favorite, but it is original and at least not a serial boring decor from a chain location. I love how the sell a few Arabic groceries and I really enjoy the food. Highly recommend this place. My favorite is the Zaatar & Labneh Pizza and the Fattoush Salad. The cheese pizza is awesome just bread and tasty cheese.

Review from Jenn T.
I came here for a quick lunch with a friend the other day not really expecting much, but oh my goodness I was blown away.
I ordered the cheese "pizza" and the falafel. The "pizza" as I'm going to call it was delicious. It was extremely simple, garlicy cheese and parsley on top of fresh baked dough, but it totally hit the spot. As for the falafel, I loved it as well, and I'm not normally a huge fan of falafel. Unlike some places, it wasn't soft, the balls were actually really fresh and crisp.
The man working a the front counter was so sweet and answered all my questions and was super patient with me as I changed my order a thousand times, so great service here as well.
The only reason I deducted a star is the ambiance and the way the ordering is set up. You go to the front to order- don't pay- sit down -they bring you your food- then you eat and go pay. I ate my food and almost walked out the door before I realized that I hadn't paid yet!
Either way, I totally recommend AL Sanabel if you're in the mood for Lebanese food in OC! I'l be back to try the zatar and cheese -

I was looking for a good chicken kebab plate with some grilled veggies and rice. Although my meal was not exactly on the menu, he modified the Chicken TAWOOK (chicken kebab), with no hummus, no salad and replace with grilled veggies. It comes with 2 middle eastern pita's.
- the chicken has a hint of garlic in the marinade
- so fricken GOOD!!!!
The owner/front counter guy was nice, he gave me two little almond cake desserts (FREE). :)
You get to drink hot tea (for free) while you wait. -

I have been to this place many times now on the course of 4 years.
This place is average in it's built and inside environment or may be below average. I am mostly a fan of the great customer service that I get each time I go there. You can count on a warm welcoming greeting the moment you set your foot in. They can also exceed your expectations in the short amount of time that it takes them to prepare your order and deliver it nice, fresh, and hot in mere 7-10 minutes. They take good care about making sure the restaurant is nice and clean, and clear your table once you are done with your meal. Today, I made a big order to go as well, and the owner served us the Basbusa desert as compliment and courtesy of the restaurant which was nice and well appreciated!
I believe it is worth mentioning here, the order that I made to go, was handled in a way that highly impressed me. It took only 15 minutes to complete the order, and when I opened the big boxes back home after almost 8 hours, I found each item was individually wrapped in paper in a venting box, and was so nice, fresh, and dry as you would love to see. It was hard to believe! It is very rare that you would see this happen in other similar places, trust me, I have been there!
I agree with other reviews, this is a great place to go to, enjoy a decent meal for a reasonable price, in a warm Arabic-style restaurant and take an order to go and enjoy later. -

I was craving for Mediterranean/Lebanese food and live in Anaheim. I am so used to going to my favorite spot in Long Beach, but didn't want to make that drive. So my sister recommended this place.
The food hit the spot. I'm going to say it's more 3.5 stars only because it wasn't as good as my fave place. It's decent. The food is still good. It's worth it if you're in the area.
It's a small little restaurant. Seems family owned. Doesn't look anything like a bakery, but there are items on the menu that could be bakery like items. It's clean. Very simple. You order your food at the counter and someone will bring it to you.
I need to go back and try different things. -

I absolutely love this place. I went there today after about a year or 2. I don't know why I waited so long to come back!!! I always order the pita with cheese and either chicken or spinach. Today I introduced my boyfriend and he ordered the falafal plate. Both dishes were delicious. The prices are so low and the food is fresh and tasty. Next time I will order the garlic chicken plate or the kabobs... I'm looking forward to going back!

There's quite a few "bakeries" around the area that start with "Al" so don't get confused!
First, this isn't a really a bakery. Sure they have some sweet baked goods, but it's more directed at their pizzas.
There are similar bakeries nearby but due to the later closing hours of this location, I prefer this one.
I wasn't too hungry so we ordered 2 pies- the Zaatar and Labneh ($1.99) and the #12 ($2.99) I forget the name of #12 but it was ground beef with spices topped with more beef and pickles.
I liked the meat one better than Labneh because of the flavor explosion!
Completely affordable and delicious.
If we were hungry, my bf and I could share 3 pizzas and be full.
Excellent! Next time will try the cheesier and eggier varieties. -

I found this place because of Yelp and boy was it a find. My friend and I came here to find something other than Zankou chicken. We both saw the garlic chicken and ordered it. The food did not disappoint. The chicken was soft and perfectly seasoned. the Humus was good and the salad was crisp... You really cannot say anything bad about this place.
The second time i came I ordered a spinach pizza and a chicken and cheese pizza. I must admit I expected a bigger pizza. They were given to me rolled up like a gyro since I was ordering it to go. Either way the pizzas were good but the chicken was just a bit stale for my taste.
Since I am a fan of both the pizza and the chicken I do plan on returning here and ordering more pizzas and more fantastic dishes! -

When you date vegetarians you have to be on the lookout for places with options beyond french fries. About half of the selections are veggie dishes.
This place has all kinds of options under $2. Plus it's such an exotic oasis in the middle of suburban Anaheim... ladies with hijabs and dudes... uh wearing whatever they want. It's fun. -

Good food, but the guy at the counter does not know a thing about customer service. The space is open and airy for the most part, but the hallway/bathroom need some immediate housekeeping. Not sure if I'll be back, even if the food is good. Customer service is so important and so many times overlooked!

I'm really impressed with Sanabel. I just got done watching a high school musical rendition of Evita and I was starving like Eva Peron on her last leg. Ok maybe I shouldn't be talking about the late Evita, but seriously...starving. There wasn't much around, but luckily with our trusty Yelp app, we were able to find Sanabel. Closing in 15 minutes, we rushed down there and placed our to-go order. They were really nice about us coming in right before they closed to order some grub.
I got the combination plate with the chicken and beef. Being a big meat eater, I really really impressed they were able to whip this up for me on such short notice. I really loved the beef and the hummus. It was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I know this place is known for their Arabic pizza, so you can count on me coming back to this place to get my fix.
I love it when I find these places on a whim. Check it out! -
Review from Sadia C.
Anytime I want inexpensive arabic food without the long wait, I come to this place. It's located in a plaza with Dream Hookah Lounge, Sizzlers, etc. Food is always delicious. Service is mixed, sometimes great and sometimes okay. They have a large selection of arabic style pizza which is the main reason for my visit. Topping include chicken, seasoned ground beef, zaatar (yummy arabic seasoning) sprinkled over cheese. MMMMM! Their chicken tawook is the bomb. The chicken is super moist and flavorful. It always comes out piping hot :) grab some pita bread with the chicken and you're set. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Anaheim, CA
As far as manakeesh sandwiches go, there is no shortage of choices on Brookhurst Street in Anaheim. But regardless of who you ask, it seems as though Sanabel is the undisputed favorite. The place is clean and the food is delicious. I have tried nearly everything on the menu, and always left full and happy. The "mashawi," or bbq plates, are not always cooked the same way, so if you are picky about the texture of your meat, it could be a hit or miss.
The manakeesh on the other hand are always consistent, baked just right, with the perfect amount of toppings. Those with a craving for spicy should try the sojo' (spicy sausage) and egg, or the lahmbajeen (spiced ground lamb) and cheese. Or you can go for a simple cheese or zaatar. If you decide to visit this place, try to go on a Saturday or Sunday, when Ibrahim Hammoud is there. You will be greeted with a friendly face and he will most definitely take care of you. -
Review from Jen B.
A-a-a-mazing! We ordered the sphiha traboulsia pie, fasoulié (green beans in tomato sauce), cheese and zaatar pie, and one of their gorgeous sesame crusted Arabic breads ($1) Freshly baked unbelievably, heavenly, good pies! I am dreaming of the cheese and zaatar pie as I sit here! *drool*
A cheap and delicious meal! Go here!!! -

I guess we were on our "Lebanese Food Day Marathon" or something because after having breakfast on Zait & Zaatar (a few blocks away) we decided to get lunch here.
The food here in comparison was much better, in terms of selection, quality, and taste.
The service was amazing -- the man taking our order was super friendly and really nice. It did not take that long to make the food and the servings were very generous.
I could see why this place was so busy when we went, as their prices and food are both tremendous.
Definitely would go back here in a heartbeat! -

I've only had the spinach pie and zattar pizza here and both are really good. Spinach Pie is only a dollar and it is delicious. They forget to warm up the pies sometimes (especially on takeout orders), so make sure you warm up the pie before you eat it. Zattar pizza is really good too, but it tends to get hard if you don't eat it fresh.
Service is really good..Listed in: Anaheim, CA, Mediterranean Food

I get the feeling this is where the locals who know this type of food go because it's not as flashy and modern as Zait and Zataar up the street. The food here is wonderfully flavored, fresh, and feels healthy!
The restaurant is clean, well lit, and welcoming.
Food wise, I really like the babaganoush here. It reminds me of the one made at Dallas' Fadis Cafe which is worth the flight. The "pizzas" were very good as was the grilled chicken plate. -

Fantastic Lebanese food! Simple, traditional and full of flavor.
Try the cheese and egg sfiha and the kibe. Just delicious. -

Not bad, not bad at all!
If you're going to be ordering a dozen or more zaatar I'd definitely recommend calling in your order and then going to pick it up. When they say "it'll be about 20 minutes," they mean it!
Their dough is delicious, but doesn't reheat well. Let's face it though, zaatar should be eaten fresh and hot.
You can eat here, or take your order to go, but either way you're going to enjoy the hand-made deliciousness. They're pretty generous with the zaatar,
My only complaint is that the cheese & zaatar isn't very cheesy. Otherwise, I'll be back the next time I'm in town! -

I was craving Arabic pizza again so we came back for breakfast. This time I ordered the ones we got last time plus something different. The kafta and the spinach and cheese pizza were new -- and omg it was so good I think next time I'll skip the lahmbiajin and go straight to the kafta instead!! The spinach and cheese was also very flavorful with just the right amount of saltiness to it. Spinach is not cooked but sprinkled atop the pizza.
Totally delicious and highly satisfying!!! I can't get enough of this place!Listed in: My SoCal Faves (OC)

If you haven't had sphihas before you're really missing out. OC Weekly was where I discovered this delicious creations which can be aptly described as a thin pita-pizza style crust with meat, cheese, vegetable, or even za'atar toppings.
If you're really hungry than this isn't the place to come as the sphihas run between $1-3 and arent' really substantial. They also have other combination plates with kefta kebabs and other meats. They also sell Turkish Delight here and my friend picked grabbed a box for a friend. Other than this area of Little Arabia in Anaheim, I haven't found anywhere that sells sphihas. Any of you find a place like this closer to LA let me know! -

This is not a bakery! This is a breakfast and lunch establishment for Middle Easterners, and a lunch haven for the rest of you!
You could never go and there and wished you could have ordered everything. Serves what I like to call Lebanese/Syrian Breakfast Pies, but these "pies" are not just for breakfast!!
Over 20 different combos of cheeses, ground beef, zaatar (thyme herb), Labneh (Solid Yougurt) baked on a pizza-like small pies.
Taste as good as back home! If you are on Brookhurst St, you have to try this place. very moderate pricing, fulfilling and wholesome ! -

This place is cheap. I ordered the Zaatar and Cheese, the chicken, the Tomato and cheese pizza and a sesame baked dessert. I wish I could say I liked this place. The bread was good. But the taste of the toppings is really an acquired taste and I eat some weird things. I really wish I liked it.
Everyone else took a bite and thought it was gross. The dessert had an "interesting" smell. I tried a bit, it was interesting. No one else would eat any I ended up throwing it away.
I really wish I liked it. The counter girl was helpful, the place is dark but clean and spacious. I will give this place a second try maybe for their meat dishes I can imagine how that might be good. -

oh man, am so full!
clean place. good prices. Because my stomach is so full, am having a hard time trying to convince myself to type "yummy food." Ok...here it comes... the food was yummy. Well, it was until I had the chicken and cheese pie...I didn like that one. I disliked how the manakeesh dough was too thin n a bit soggy.
overall, it was ok. -

My review is for the chicken kabob wrap...order that if you want a shawarma. It was great : the bread was soft, the chicken was tender and flavorful, good pickles, tomatoes, right amount of sauce etc.
The beef shawarma was tough and bland tasting, don't get that, just order the chicken kabob sandwich or their pizza dishes. -

Best mana2eesh in southern california, hands down...if this place was more suitable for kicking back for a few hours with friends and smoking argeeleh, i would give it 9 stars. but as far as food goes, top notch mana2eesh, they stick to what they know and they do it better than the rest. Al Amir is a close 2nd place but Sanabel definitely takes the prize.

There's a lot of competition in this area for good Arab bakeries. This one isn't as overdone as Victory just a block or so away, but it is unmatched for quality zatar. I could live on the zatar with cheese dipped in baba ghanoush. Their prices are right, too: two people can easily eat their fill for under $15.

I love this place, when I first moved to the area this was the first place I visited frequently. I have dragged most of my friends and family here and all of them have wanted to come back. The spinach pie is one of the better things to eat in the area and the zaatar and tomatoes makes me hungry just thinking about it. Also the prices are ridiculously low, you could easily leave here stuffed and still have leftovers and have spent less than 7 dollars.

Good stuff! This was my first exposure to Arab food, and I was quite pleased. The restaurant is a bit tacky in terms of decor and such- i.e. the chairs inexplicably have coffee cup images on their backs while as far as I can tell, coffee is not a prominent feature of the establishment, but the service is quick, and the food is tasty and cheap. I have had other Arab food since I visited here, and this was definitely better.

Great food. This place has wonderful Manaeesh. They are a labanese pizza like dishes. Much better than a pizza though even though I love Pizza. You will enjoy the food there tremendously. The atmosphere is very simple, so don't expect too much. You can also take home some, refreigrate them and warm them up the next day or two in the over and they taste fantastic. Enjoy the food..
