This place has a cool 50's vibe. Been here twice, both times about 9 am. The food is good..both times I had an omelet with home fries and toast. First time it was the mediterranean omelet which I enjoyed. The second time was chorico which was just ok. Both times waitresses were nice...but second time she seemed kinda busy and forgot my hot sauce which I ended up getting myself. Good place for breakfast...not the best place in the world but definitely not the worst. No real complaints here. This place is worth a try at least once.

Ah, Al Mac's... What a love hate relationship I have with you. On one hand, your quick service and simple plates are a blessing, especially in the early morning, when well-intentioned kitchen adventures have the potential to rapidly devolve into an incident involving the fire department.
On the other, enjoying your food requires wearing the culinary version of beer goggles.
Allow me to elaborate. A tasty omelet requires more than cooked eggs and cheese with fillings hastily thrown in. We know that between your typical customer (i.e., me) and sheer volume, circumstance might dictate that your plates adopt this as the norm, but a sober diner expects a bit more than a cooked egg folded over watery innards.
Call me picky, I dare you.
Because the corned beef and hash tasted like it was dug up from the belly of a salt mine. It was undercooked and appeared to have pink bits of brain matter under its tough exterior. The Strawberry Milk should be renamed Milk with Pink Food Coloring.
But your prices? They reflect the quality of your food. No complaints there.
Your hours? In keeping with mine.
It is sometimes best to summarize conflicting emotions in verse:
Your bread is from Wal-Mart,
And water comes from the tap.
Your Corned Beef and Hash?
Well it tastes like crap.
But when I am drunk,
Or too stoned to cook.
I will fancy your place
And faults there overlook.Listed in: Breakfast Adventures

I've pretty much only been here around 3-4am after a Friday or Saturday night out. Let's face it, post-bar diner breakfast is a magical thing.
Really cheap food (you are in Fall River, what do you expect?)
There is a cop stationed there at least during the post-bar hours. Last time I was there, some trashy drunk people were in a yelling match with the cop who was telling them to chill out. It was great. Free entertainment! -

Pulling up in the parking lot Al Mac's looks like an old fashioned diner right out of the 1950s. Stepping inside you get the same feel. There's a long counter at the front where you can watch the cook prepare meals, or sit at one of the booths along the windows. It felt a little greasy/dirty inside but I didn't think twice about it considering how old the diner was anyways. That's what you should expect when you're stepping back in time to eat.
Apparently this place is open pretty late after all the bars get out and seems to be a hot spot for late night food. I was only there at 10am so unfortunately i didn't get to see the night time sights.
Food was cheap, I just had the belgium waffle. Friends tried the hamburgers and fries. Service was a little slow considering there seemed to only be two waitresses in the entire place. Cheap, good prices. -

Al Mac's is Fall River's "Cheers" of diners. It's got this fantastic 50's style to it that stands apart from all other surrounds establishments. When you walk in, you're surrounded by people from all walks of life. Many familiar but some seemingly strange and alien. Most tables have a mini juke box filled with chart topping hits like Elton John's "Candle in the wind" and Gloria Estefan's "Rhythm is gonna get you".
You will likely be greeted by waitresses from the days of yore. They will be slow and hair lipped but friendly.
The food isn't exceedingly good but definitely not on the bad side of the fence.
The prices are about as cheap as you're gonna find but the experience will be priceless. -

This place is legit. Greasy diner, breakfast all day served with a side of chourico and a whopping heartburn hangover. Go at 2 in the morning to people watch. If you want to look local, ask for a coffee milk. This vanilla laden treat comes from mixing whole milk with a heaping tablespoon of coffee extract from the Autocrat factory in Lincoln RI - the only such manufacturer of its kind in the world. Fall River local flavor is coffee milk. Try it and spread the gospel.

A late night savior. Being a weekend warrior at 2-3AM sometimes...Hey I am hungry...cooking for myself not a reasonable option at the moment. Cheap fare..good eats...your typical diner. Al Mac's is a Fall River landmark. The service....good to decent. The food all around good and satisfying portions. Great for breakfast or for lunch. If you stumble in at 2-3AM, as long as your money is green and you can compose yourself there is no problem. Just watch for the kind officer who mans the late night watch on the 24hr weekends.

I love Al Macs. It's an awesome 50's diner right off the highway, perfect for those late drunk nights. It's pretty cheap too... ten bucks, and your good for a huge breakfast. I love the mini juke boxes at the tables. Tons of old back in the day songs to choose from. Just thinking of it makes me crave some pancakes and home fries. I can't wait until my next drunk night. =)

What a dump. we stopped in after a funeral and i ordered turkey dinner (it ws 10 bucks so i thought it would be good) not at all the turkey was cold and tastless, the stuffing tasted like it was made 3 weeks ago, the place was dirty and even the server looked trashy. needless to say i will not be stopping in here ever
