Give this place some love! They're relatively new, having only opened up within the past year. Al Kebab is hands-down the best Middle Eastern place in the Groton/Mystic area! Prices are great (~$10 an entree) and the portions are reasonably-sized -- not big, not small. The hummus platter is fantastic, but a little short on the pita. You can ask for more. The kebabs are nicely marinated and very flavorful. The steak is done on the medium rare side to preserve flavor, which is amazing. Thumbs up! I'm glad to see them in the area and I'd like to see them really take off!
Atmosphere is no-frills, and the waitress was a bit nervous and confused, but maybe she's new. Forgive her.
There are places in New Haven that also do kebabs, which are fantastic, and not just pretty good, but if you're in the area and can't afford the drive, this is definitely worth your while. The prices are definitely cheaper here as well.
Other specials they have are $1 draft nights and 10% off EB/Pfizer/military. They have Sam Adams on tap for ~$4 each, and a full bar. Pretty awesome. -

Update-
I took my Mother for Mother's Day, after all, this was the lady who raised me on good food :-)
The food as usual was very good, and we received excellent service.
I'm a big lamb fan, but I tried something different, the mixed kabob platter.
The chicken was Outstanding ! the kefkakabob was great also.

Friendly.
Light.
Refreshing.
Flavorful.
Those are the words I would chose to describe this place. Right now this little restaurant is in its "I think I can" phase and I really hope it turns out it could. Their heart is in the right place in that they want to make good food, want make people happy, and in both cases they are certainly doing it. Their only handicap may be the location but with a little word of mouth and continuing positive reviews, location will not be an issue.
