As an ex-dancer, a runner and over 50, I was recently not feeling 100% physically.  Little aches/pains, etc.  I just finished a 10-series with Al and I am so grateful!  He is an awesome rolfer!  I feel that I am stronger, more centered, standing straighter and feeling more "free" in my body.  Not only does he have a kind and generous spirit, he is clearly skilled in this type of work.
5 + stars to be sure!  What a treat.
    Thank you, Al!!!

I can't say enough about this man.  I have searched for 6 years to find a Rolfer in LA.  When I came across Al Fielder at Christmas time I was so excited.  I called and he immediately called me back.  We set up our first session and then we just kept going.  I felt like a million dollars every time I walked out of his place.  He is involved in how your body is feeling and attends to any discomforts and pains as to make you feel normal again.   He is professional on all levels and is accommodating if you have a busy schedule.  His place is very clean and he is just a Godsend to have.  I am getting ready to start again and I just finished my first series.  He can't be compared to anyone else and I have been to many places in search for exactly what he does.  Thank you Al for your miraculous hands.

I'm still trying to get used to not being in constant pain - it's foreign to me!  After only 5 sessions with Al (I wish I could do more), my hips have freed up.  Muscles are waking up after slumbering underneath layers and layers of tightness and knots.  I too am an ex-dancer, but I still take ballet classes, and I had gotten used to always being in pain, especially hips and groin.  But Al, with his knowledgeable hands has helped me infinitely.  I will definitely be returning to Al for maintenance.  I highly recommend him for anyone with chronic pain, who's tried everything else, and is sincere about finding a solution.

Not just 5 stars, but 5 STARS! A "retired" dancer, I was invited to once again dance and to choreograph a little over a year ago. My body had shifted somewhat south of north (how'd that happen?), so put myself on a regime to lose some weight and become fit again for this gig. In the process of recovering myself, I noted how inflexible and tight this once very flexible and loose body had become, so turned to Al Fielder upon the recommendation of a friend.

Wow...work with Al transcends every massage I've ever received, transporting the immediate feel good of prior massages to therapeutic and long lasting muscle relief. Not only does my entire body feel better than it has in many years, my flexibility has returned and even my posture has improved. You'll find Al easy going and respectful. And you'll find yourself immediately confident that he is an expert at his craft.

Do yourself a favor and call this guy up. I did a 10 series with Al a few months ago and am still feeling the benefits. My yoga postures have all improved dramatically. My body awareness has improved dramatically. A few of the sessions were pretty intense but I felt like I was able to release some emotions I have been holding onto for a long time. From day one Al was trustworthy, professional and obviously very talented in his craft. On the business side he has it together as well. He would always text the day before appointments to remind next day appointments, and when it was necessary to reschedule he was extremely flexible and understanding, never charging anything more than what is set up from the beginning. Awesome guy. Great results.

    This guys is awesome!!

Nothing against Chiros or Massage Therapists (I have def had my share of both.. and they both do different stuff).. but in terms of LASTING benefits nothing beats Rolfing, or Al!

The guy is very warm and friendly and will customize a Rolfing session according to your needs.

Highly recommended if you practice Yoga or do some type of sport as it helped me achieve my perfect "Downward Dog" -- heels all the way on the floor in only my 4th session!!

I've been practicing Yoga on and off for 6 freaking years and still couldn't do it and then 4 weeks into getting rolfed... BHAM!

Yeah it could be a little intense, but it is def worth it.  Al told me that he adjusts to the individual and since I am used to getting hard massages I kind of liked the intense feeling that rolfing gave me.

Anyway hope this review helps. I am new to yelp, so I thought I would contribute as I have not seen too many Rolfing posts!

If there were more than 5 stars Al would get them!  I have already recommended him to everyone I know who has ever considered Rolfing (and to a few that haven't).  This is the real deal folks - if you are looking for something to get you back to center through a professional who not only knows his stuff but is warm, caring and a "healer" in the true sense of the word, do yourselves a favor and give Al a call!

Before recent significant life changes, I was a very active and healthy person.  But things have been sliding the wrong way over the last couple of years and middle age is approaching.  I finally decided to pull the Rolfing trigger after years of thinking about it; I'm sure glad I did.  After going through the 10 sessions I feel like I've given my body the support it needs to face my second half in the healthiest way possible.  The rest is up to me.

I'm sure I'll go in for the occasional tune up, as needed, and will look forward to working with Al on this on-going project of physical health.  if you're thinking about it, make an initial appointment with Al - it will be clear that you're in the right place!

    Thanks Al!!

I had a car accident in March and I tried everything, chiropractic, massage and NOTHING helped until I had my first session with Al.  The difference after one session with Al was remarkable. I continued to see him every week for 6 weeks and I can't believe how great I feel, better than before the accident!!

I'm hooked, he's the greatest! Not to mention a truly wonderful human being!!

I've been to a number of massage therapists in my life but never felt a lasting effect.  In fact, I felt quite the opposite: a momentary sublime followed by tension that returns. I researched a number of rolfers in Los Angeles, and I was instantly attracted to working with Al.  Our sessions together have produced huge benefits in my body and mind; i fell greater ease and balance as well as connectivity.  Al has also helped me work on my way of walking, improving my day-to-day postural alignment. I sincerely recommend working with Al if you are interested in your structural health.

thought that people should know that Al is a Certified Rolfer. Many people who perform rolfing are not certified as a Rolfer and it can be misleading.

After going to Al, I could care less what type of rolfer he was, because he was just so good, but i thought this might help someone who wanted to get rolfed by a certified rolfer.

Just got home from my first ever rolfing session with Al. I have had massages before but they never really got rid of the soreness and chronic tension that I hold as a ballet dancer and instructor. Al was quick to point out my upper spine misalignment (which I didn't tell him about but have been working on correcting it myself in class) and focused in on that area. It has never felt this loose and lengthened before! My body feels amazing now and I can't wait to go back to see Al.
