Review from Leslie F.
Tucson, AZ
Yelp is such an interesting place. :-)
I received a call on my cell number (obviously ACP's new management were able to track down enough facts for them to get my number)... asking if I had left a review on Yelp. I was stunned that a company would cross this line. A letter, an email would all be acceptable... a phone call based on a yelp review...really? stalker much?
One question you may ask yourself is why I waited 6 years to post a review. 1) Yelp wasn't around back then and 2) the systematic failure of ownership was so terrible that it was worth sharing.
I know that when things go spectacularly wrong... it is a time for the owner/management to shine and turn it around. After my house was set on fire (big flames up the wall), I alerted the namesake of the company. He was angry. He clearly yelled at the fail plumber who did the work. This fail plumber had indicated that I should NOT tell Al what had happened. This put me in a no-win situation.
I was uncomfortable having the bad plumber back in my house, and told Al this. He told me that there was nothing he could do about changing the plumber. This was dishonest, since he had a whole fleet of plumbers to choose from, or he could have pushed our job back until a plumber was available. We were not given any options. I was uncomfortable having the bad plumber back in my house since I had 'tattled" on him against his wishes. If ACP was concerned about 100% satisfaction, they should have swapped plumbers. duh.
The bad plumber was not knowledgeable. After the installation, we had to replace o rings and various seals that were pinched because the guy didn't know what he was doing. He scratched the lid of my new toilet seat when setting his tools on it... not that big of a deal ....but really? A week after the guy set my wall on fire... he came and soldered the sink in and didn't have fire protection or a fire extinguisher this time either. If AL was concerned about safety, professionalism... he would have insured that his personnel are properly trained and have proper equipment. At least the second time around (ffs).
So, it's great that the new management is concerned about bad reviews. If the namesake of the company had personally written or concerned himself 1/4 of how much the new management has... this review wouldn't have been relevant. If the namesake of the company had called me (rather than Rob 6 years later) asking what he could do to take the bad taste out of my mouth... the review may never have been written. If the namesake of the company had been concerned about 100% satisfaction, honesty, professionalism, knowledgeable staff and safety... as the new management says they are... this review wouldn't have been written.
But, Al didn't care, he stuck us with a fail plumber, we paid the bill... we got what we got... and the truth aired itself 6 years later when there is a forum to let people know about really good and really scary companies.Listed in: Worst of Tucson

Review from Brad H.
Tucson, AZ
***WARNING*** This company is a SCAM company.
We called them out to have the kitchen drain unstopped. He couldn't do it. Said there was more of a problem in that the pipe came to a "T" and after working on it for two hours he couldn't navigate his snake to clear it out. He said there was a more serious problem and pulled out his book of services and charges, called his superior at the office, and was advised to tell us that my landlord tear out the cabinets, sink, and wall to get to this "problem"--all for $2200!!! Right. We got another plumber out and he had it unstopped within 20 minutes total time. That includes the time it took for him to take his snake out, set it up, and run it. He said the actual time it took to get it unstopped was about 11 minutes.
They would not refund their charge of $165 or return my landlord's check. The plumber wanted to meet my landlord somewhere and "swap checks." Shady. She instead called the owner and said she would be down to get her check. When she arrived, he already deposited the check. They gave her a refund of $65. I can understand a service call fee, but they should refund her $100. They didn't unstop the drain after all.
