I read the reviews, and they are exactly right.  These guys know what they are doing, and gave me a great deal on a beautiful Pioneer head unit that integrates my iPhone and music.  My car was not the usual--an Audi--and they did a terrific job.

The knew exactly what was needed to make it fit and look like it was factory installed.  Saturn was helpful in narrowing down what would work for me, and Joe took a lot of time to explain exactly how the unit worked, and showed me how to use my iPhone with the head unit.  Joe was emphatic that I should come back if any issues come up.   I would never go anywhere else.   If you live on the west side, don't even bother with anyone else.

Purchased the yelp tint deal. They did a great job. They even hooked me up with making the tint strip darker after not liking the lighter one.

    I would recommend Al&Eds to a friend.

I was searching for another option. I was done with my FM transmitter that played songs from my iPod quietly, and with tons of interference. I was used to it, having used the same transmitter for four years... but enough was enough. Best Buy had cheaper prices, but Al & Ed's had a great Yelp presence and it was close to my new house.

The guys over there are great and definitely, as others have said, have customer service in mind. Call ahead to see if you need to schedule an appointment, but they're also pretty chill about having people show up with little issues that they can help with on the go. While I was waiting for my install (which only took about an hour and a half or around that), I watched them fix a couple little issues people had with various car parts or accessories, all with courtesy, tact, and professionalism.

I'm a pretty tough Yelp grader, since "As Good As It Gets" to me is a tough stamp to hand out. So one star remains out because I called around to several places before settling on Al's, and the price that they quoted me was definitely on the higher end or the highest end for what I was looking for, and I would caution you on that if money is tight.

However, I chose to go to Al & Ed's because I have some after-market items on my car that I assumed they'd be careful around. Also, when I got my car back, the power outlet wasn't re-attached properly, and when I went to use it, the plastic covering fell off and the entire outlet came out. Not that big of a deal, and when I called them and returned back the next day, they fixed it quickly and without charge, but still, I had to rearrange my schedule that day to return to the shop and it was something that I would have hoped they could have checked on before returning my car to me. But like I said, that's a small issue and one they handled well. Overall, my rating is if you have the cash and you want it done correctly and you like being treated well, head here.

I'd purchased an Alpine Ipod compatible stereo from these guys last year for my girlfriends birthday and I couldn't get the in-dash install part quite right.  I finally contacted Jeremiah at Al & Ed's and he said to come on in.  I was willing to pay to get the deck so it wouldn't slide out.  Lo and behold 10 minutes later it's done, the guys are nice as can be and they tell me it costs me nada!!!  I will continue doing business with them as they are the best!

I do all my stereo myself, I build boxes, wire speakers, amps, headunits, whatever it is stereo I do it. When it comes to tinting, alarm installs, or purchasing products thats where I need some help. At Al and Ed's Joe hooked me up on a new clifford alarm on my car and tinted my hatchback.  Prices cannot be beat for their customer service and their warranties.  If you're thinking about buying your speakers online because they are cheaper...think again, if you get them from Al n Eds and they blow up you can access your warranty through them for up to a year.
Anyways if you have some car questions head to al n eds! I don't go anywhere else.

************************************************** *************Living in the clients shoes. Making decisions as if they were for you. Do unto your neighbor, etc. Ok, its as simple as this. Joe, the mayor of this place, really knows how to remove client conflict. Customer service is less about when you buy something, and more about when there is a problem. I had a overhaul done on a motorcycle stereo, a difficult install at best, and for some reason, the speaker glue failed and one of the speakers tore loose, the amp got wet, everything frizzled, twizzled and sizzled.

So I  says to Joe" What should we do?" He said, " We? You mean me" I  am sorry to inconvenience you like this." Let me fix everything, install a new set of speakers, mount things differently and make sure this doesn't ever happen again" WOW.

And then when my buddy picked up the bike, it had been close to detailed. WOW again. I  would never go anywhere else and I  will go out of my way to send him business. Thanks Joe. And hey, when you open your own store, I  will send my peeps there. Chains stores will always be chain stores, but people never change.

Joe, keep doing what u are doing. TonyG

Spoke with Jeremiah, Joe and Sater regarding putting a Pioneer AVIC 130b Navigation system, XM antenna, and backup camera in my 1999 Mercedes CLK320 Convertible. They informed me of the price, time to install, along with the recommendation to upgrade my speakers and amp.  I originally felt I should hold off on the speakers and amp...but after listening to Jeremiah explain how the new speakers will blow the 1999 factory installed speakers away, using less energy from the more powerful amp..I was sold.  I am so glad I did. The system is beyond belief!

I am a Major Airline Pilot and very picky about anything affecting my mint condition Mercedes. They flawlessly installed everything in one day, then demo'd the phone pairing/bluetooth system, Pandora and the backup camera. The sound is 100 times better than before with zero distortion.

You may not know what product you need when you first call them, but these guys are real pros, and through their professional advice..you will find a solution.  I highly recommend Al and Ed's in Marina del Rey.

Not all Al & Ed's Auto Sound are created equal...and the Al & Ed's Auto Sound of Marina Del Rey rises above the rest with the help of Joe and Jeremiah!

Jeremiah and Joe of Al & Ed's Auto Sound of Marina Del Rey exceeded my expectations and resolved a stress-laden time-senstive situation with ease and at an affordable price.

My alarm on my 2000 Toyota 4Runner died and the dealer quoted me a price of $500 to install a new one! Not wanting to leave my car unprotected and pressed for time (my wife and I share a car) I told the dealer to go ahead and install it only later to be told that they no longer installed alarms in that model but they'd be happy to just remove it given that it was causing a bunch of other electrical problems in my car.

Stuck without an alarm and my car in the shop, I reached out to my trusted autobody shop guy who hesitantly pointed me to the Al & Ed's in West Hollywood stating that they were pricey but alarm installation was not something you wanted to leave up to non-professionals.  But when I saw their low rating in Yelp and read the reviews I was taken aback. Fortunately, I looked further down the list of Al & Ed's Auto Sounds and found this one just minutes away from my apartment in Mar Vista with a near 5 star-rating!

When I called, Jeremiah answered the phone and within minutes of discussing my situation he put my mind at ease. I picked up my car from the dealer and drove it straight to Al & Ed's of Marina Del Rey right before closing on a Friday.

As I walked in, I could tell right away these guys love what they do are a community-oriented and are totally professional business. Jeremiah introduced me to Joe who was just downright "neighborly". As Jeremiah set me up, I saw one of their guys uploading their most recent  videos to You Tube to help people learn about everything from window tinting and radio/GPS installations to to how to do things yourself! (http://www.youtube.com...)

My alarm was cleanly  installed and my car ready for pick-up by 10:30 the next day (Saturday). My wife picked up the car and they explained everything about the alarm to her and gave her a card with a number to call if she or I had any questions or if the alarm sensitivity needed to be adjusted.

All this for under $350 dollars!
Al & Ed's Autosound from Marina Del Rey has made a customer for life!
    Thanks guys!

Super clean installation that didn't take very long at all. When they were done both Joe and Jeremiah gave me a complete demo of the new head unit and helped to pair my phone via Bluetooth. As you can see I am one of many 5star reviews...if you're in the market for some new car audio gear, I highly recommend these guys. I will be going back for new speakers very soon!! Stopped in to Al & Ed's on Lincoln in Marina del Rey with my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee to finally replace the front Infinity speakers that sounded blown. Jeremiah quoted me the correct size speakers right away. Didn't have time for an install and wanted to get at least two other quotes. Other shops were wishy-washy and prices were comparable. Went back, bought the speakers and the guys installed them in 20 minutes. The old speakers were in fact totally blown out from age. I will be back to get rear speakers soon and window tint repair - excellent store, great attitudes, hard chargers in the shop - very highly recommended.

I was cruising down Lincoln Blvd and saw their number posted on their awning so I decided to write it down. I called them from my job which is nearby and asked them about their prices and time line for getting tints on my car. I had spoken to a Gentleman by the name of Joe who I assume was a manager, he answered all my questions and relieved my timeline concerns as-well. I got there around 4:30 and he had the guys start on my car right away, he assisted with picking out the darkness of the tints which best would fit my vehicle and also warned me about other dark shades that would attract to much attention and may receive tickets for. So i decided to go with what he had suggest and I couldn't be any happier with the decision,  it took less than 2hours which went by very fast! overall I'd suggest this to a friend or anyone for sure (which i already have) and their customer service was excellent, very helpful educated and customer service oriented and EXCELLENT PROFESSIONAL WORK!    Thanks guys!

Joe installed my JVC Double-DIN GPS unit, backup camera and bluetooth mic into my 2003 Honda CR-V and all I can say is I couldn't be happier.  I dropped it off at 10am and had it back by 4:30pm with a clean, professional and thoughtful installation.

Joe even took the time to walk me through all the features of my stereo system, even though I bought it somewhere else.

He showed me the wide range of the backup camera by standing behind me off to the side, really taking the time to make sure I understood the install from top to bottom.

He also reminded me to clip my car-seat back in place, since they had to move it slightly.

Essentially, for the reasonable price they charged me and the fact that drop off and pick up were without any waiting or drama, I could not be happier.  I will definitely be going to back to Joe next time I need work like this done!

Where to start . . . so the bottom line is my eight year old Chrysler 300C now has the ultimate A/V navigation system (Kenwood DNX9990HD) installed so flawlessly that you can't tell it wasn't a factory install. Even though this unit is the hottest thing and just came out they had it in stock and sold it to me way below list price. They had all the adapters to make it work with my car's existing steering wheel controls and amp. With all the extras I had them do like backup camera, extensive iPhone integration, and satellite radio, they still had it installed, configured, and drive tested in three hours. Then they spent plenty of time showing me how to use it. No attitude or sales pressure from these guys--just professionalism and attention to detail. Check out their YouTube channel "delreycustoms" and you can see examples of the type of install you're interested in. They also specialize in window tinting.

At best, incompetent; at worst, dishonest. I was having trouble with the stereo (on all inputs) in my 2006 Prius, which has the standard 4-speaker, non-premium setup with no factory sat/nav/cd changer/bluetooth. There was this horrible electronic screeching/staticky noise almost but not quite drowning out the sounds I was trying to hear. It started shortly after I had the car thoroughly detailed, so I thought there MIGHT be a connection. I called & spoke w Raymond, who said to bring it on in so he could check it out. He listened, then started taking up the mats in the back under the hatch. He told me very confidently, that it was absolutely caused by oversoaking of the rear deck, because the amp is under there behind the back seats, and I should bring it back after the weekend that was about to start so he could tear it down and confirm the problem.

    Um, no.

The basic setup in 06 (and likely others of a similar vintage) is NOT components. The amp is built in to the unit (upgraded factory units are JBL w CD changers--those components are all over the place, like under seats and such). NEVER under the rear deck in any case. I had to do some serious seeking before I found someone who actually knew (which, at the time, I did not...but I knew I didn't want to give someone a carte blanche to tear up my car on spec).  (If you happen to be looking for the hybrid battery, THAT is under the back deck on the passenger side of the car--you can see its vent between the top of the seatback & the door.)

To be fair, it is certainly possible, although highly unlikely, that he had never worked on a Prius before. That should be where the invaluable phrase, "I don't know, let me find out, " should enter the discussion with a straight shooter. Given that I did not hear those words, I come back to my incompetent/dishonest conclusion.

After traipsing around to various other places, I finally thought to ask a mechanic I trust for a recommendation. I was referred to Sergio @ Prodigy Sounds (310-930-4613) in Culver City. It's Saturday afternoon. Sergio looks, listens, makes a couple of calls, then pops my dash apart like it's Legos, pulls out the unit, puts the dash back together, and tells me he should have it repaired by next week, or find out if it needs replacing. Sat night, I remember I have an extended/extensive warranty on just about everything in the car...Sergio meets me Sunday afternoon, when he reinstalls the unit so I don't break anything on my way to a dealership (and THAT is a whole other story, finding a person to talk to @ a dealership who was interested in taking on what was pretty certainly warranty work, with no chance of upselling). Sergio charged me an embarrassingly small fee for his work and advice.

Anyway...I just cannot recommend Al & Ed's to anyone trying to diagnose a problem. I cannot comment on regular sales & installations, except to say, KNOW WHERE YOUR COMPONENTS GO so you can be sure the stuff you buy/bring really is where it should be and isn't something else entirely.

I went to Al & Ed's because I needed an iPhone adapter installed on the factory radio of my Acura TSX. My experience at this location was great; Joe was extremely helpful and friendly. He quoted me a price over the phone and honored that agreement when I went in for the installation, so there wasn't any upsell or "additional labor" which I greatly appreciated.

The installation took a little less than 2 hours and Joe showed me how to use my adapter with my factory stereo before I left. I had a quick and professional experience and would return to Joe at Al & Ed's again (provided that I don't have any issues down the line).

I came to AL & Ed's to have a backup camera installed. They were pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon that I stopped by. Joe, the store manager, greeted me and gave some quick pointers - saying I could save money and DIY. Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out the wiring (I'm not electrician) and made an appt for the following Saturday.

Joe and his guys made super quick work. I was in and out in less than an hour! I actually bought the camera and harness, so just needed some more technical hands (read: labor) which was very reasonable and professional.

The shop never tried to oversell me on other products and were very courteous. I couldn't be happier.

Overall for speed and straightforwardness 5 stars. Pricing 3 stars.

Now I'm in my final days before making the permanent move to the southeast. And there was just no way I was going to drive 2000 miles with only the factory radio in my jenky daewoo lanos. I mean I can only laugh at country music for so long.

And the real key here is that I know a thing or two about car audio from an ex, and I've had an ipod playing alpine radio waiting to be installed  for months. Since I know a thing or two about it, I've known what part I needed to just do the job myself (or thought it was simpler than it was) so I thought well heck I could just go down to Al & Ed's and pick it up. However! What I did not know was that the part I needed would require some wire soldering.

Now the guy helping me at AL & Eds was friendly, straightforward, fast and really patient with my lack of 'correct terminology'. He found the wiring stuff I was looking for, but also added that it might be a good idea to get the alpine bolted in, so that it would bounce around in the pocket. Of which he quoted me $125 for labor and parts. Now later I found out, I could have just bought a soldering iron, stuck the wires together, and duct taped the damn thing in. But in the end I'm happy that I paid them to do it for me, the daewoo is already jenky enough as it is.

They finished the job in about 45minutes, on a Saturday and there was literally no hassle or trying to sell me anything extra. I feel like this can be attributed to the fact that my job was extremely simple, I only needed one part and I had a semi-sense of what to ask in the first place. I always suggest doing research before going into a sales situation. The more you know the less they can enact their sneaky salesman tactics. Not that I think the dude at Al & eds was trying to do that at all. Also in the case of car audio, it's just a smart thing to do, because the mark up on labor (which half the time you can do yourself) and parts is one of the more outrageous of any business out there.

Now the trip east east will be much more tolerable, even if my speakers are scratchy!

I came to this Al and Ed's because of the great Yelp reviews.  I came in on a Saturday and got taken care of right away (luckily so, as people started coming in right after me).  I wanted to tint my car's windows as well as get a car alarm.  I mentioned the Yelp ad and got what I was looking for at a very fair price.  The guys working in the shop are knowledgeable and confident, telling me what kind of tint would look best and what kind alarm I needed.  They quoted me 4-5 hours but had my car done in about 3.  My car looks awesome and is well guarded.  I'm very happy and would recommend this shop.

Drop off car at 9:30. Walk to beach. Get some sun. Walk back less than two hours later and boom, my car has a new headunit.

Super friendly staff, fast (didn't even make an appointment) and good price ($95 for the install). I have to say that not having a bluetooth enabled headunit is barbaric. Inserting cds? Plugging in cables? Ha.

A few little touches would make it a 5 star experience, like setting the clock and cleaning around the shifter (you could tell where they pulled out the dash). You have to get picky after 4 stars.

All in, I'm incredibly happy and would highly recommend. Like another Yelper said, it's surprising to find this level of service from a chain audio shop which is why I almost didn't come here. The great reviews here changed my mind, and I'm glad. It actually turns out each Al and Eds is a independently run and I can tell you the Venice shop is a tight ship.

Had a groupon deal bluetooth system put in my car. Dealt with Joe. I got there on my appointed  time; he told me it would take about 2 to 3 hours...2 1/2 hours later, everything was done. He quickly showed me the in's and out's of the system. Very nice customer service and efficient service. Can't ask for anything more. Had a good experience here and wouldn't hesitate to come back. Thanks Joe.

I have been to Al & Ed's Auto Sound in Marina Del Rey 3 times, and have received excellent service all 3 times.  I had a problem with one of the adjustments that they made and when I called them they didn't hesitate to fix it for free.  Excellent customer service.  Very friendly, very knowledgeable.

Quick quality work. I lost the clicker for my Honda Accord and my alarm kept going off, locking up my car and making it un-drivable. I took it in, they assessed the problem and gave me solutions, all of them affordable and would have me out the door really fast. I was there at 4:15pm and out by 4:30pm. These guys are honest, straight-forward, no bull and all about quality work and customer service. Don't go anywhere else, go to Al and Eds.

You don't really find many businesses like Al and Ed's.  5 stars all around.  Highly recommended.  I've found my car audio guys.

I had an issue with Parrot Blue Tooth Kit which my mechanic could not fix even after taking $85 from me....I called Joe after reading the other yelp reviews.  He told me to come and down and as soon I got there he took a look at it.  Within 10 minutes he had diagnosed the problem (a busted part).  I happened to have a replacement unit with me.  Joe swapped out the replacement unit and I was out of there in 20 minutes with a working unit.  He even tested it with my phone to make sure everything worked before leaving.  The best part, Joe didn't charge me a dime.  All he asked was that next time I have an issue I give him a call and to recommend him.

We came late on a Saturday about 30 minutes before closing time and Joe helped us remove a stuck DVD from our DVD player quickly.  I thought we'd have to come back at a later time but he quickly unmounted the DVD player and made a practical recommendation "Don't use library DVDs in this player because the library DVDs have the extra label."   We had the car manufacturer's DVD player which was an auto load, non-tray type.  Good practical advice, as we never realized that the library label could cause the DVD to be thicker and harder to eject from the player.  Joe refused taking any payment but we had to pay him a little bit of cash for his kindness.  THANK YOU JOE!   You made our day with your quick actions and diagnosis.  My daughter is eternally grateful.

My experience was extraordinary. I'm fastidious about my car and was looking for a shop that was just as demanding as me. I found it in this store managed by Joe Shemula. I wanted everything to look as though it came from the factory. I care about the little things. For example I wanted to ensure that when the dash was reassembled all the panels were perfectly aligned as they were prior to this work. I went as far as saying they had an open checkbook to ensure it was perfect.

It was better than perfect and came in under the original estimate. The system is fully integrated and sounds awesome. My Lexus GX 470 may be seven years old but it feels like a brand new car today.

Went to Al& Eds Auto Sound for window tinting on my 2010 Honda Insight. It was great. Was greeted very friendly by Joe who took care of me. Told him what I wanted and he was right on it. It took about 2 hours to get it done. Thankfully I only live down the street from them so I was able to go home while it was there. I came back to get the car and LOVED it. It looks so nice. I would def recommend them to to others.

Great service. Knew about them for years, recently read through the Yelp reviews. All I needed to do was have the OEM stereo and speakers replaced in a very old car but they treated me well. Very friendly, and extremely great customer service. Very clean store. You just know they know what they are doing. A very pleasant experience. Highly recommended. A car lover's shop.
