Wow Omg! I can't express how good this place isss! I live in glendale. My friend told me about this place. Its so far from me. But she & her family make the trip here just for all the delicious maniash's & lahmajuns. NOW I KNOW WHY! It is worth the drive.

All the lahmajuns(lebanese pizzas) I have tried here which a lot of places in glendale carry are nasty. So not worth buying. ughh! Butttt I am so impressed that everything I tried from my friend bringing me was so tasty & fresh I am salivating while writing this!!!

Lets start with the lahmajun-deliciously spiced & perfect moist & yummy! the dough was thin as it should be you can really taste the allspice in the seasoning. this truly was my ultimate favv. You know its good whenyou don't need to add anything to it like Labneh or yogurt or even lemon it was perfect as is!

The Zaatar manaish- delicious perfect combination of dried thyme, sesame seeds & other dried greens

The cheese= this was soo good poerfectly thin & the cheese taste like a combination of a tiny bit of egg with awaki cheese) Mmm

I can't thank my friend enough for introducing me to this place woww!

One of my favorite bakeries in the OC.
Everything is really, really fresh and hot. All the pastries smell home-made, the old way.
Definitely try the lahmajun which is kinda like a middle-eastern pizza (try the zatar lahmajun).
The service is extremely courteous and just makes your day.

WHY can't I have one of these up in Northern California? Seriously - am I relegated to only getting cheese bread when I visit family in Anaheim? Al Amir delights me and frustrates me at the same time! It's the forbidden fruit.

When we get together with a bunch of friends, we pick up food from here. They are always great. The food is quality, tastes good, and is reasonably priced.

It's light food that fits well into breakfast, work lunch and regular dinner.

My co-worker took me to this place back when it was at an older location.  I was so glad that when I went back to look for it that they had moved and did not close down.  Good thing they advertised it on a billboard to tell you that!

I absolutely love these Lebanese pizzas!  Every time I go, I have to order two.  The zaatar pizza is my favorite, which is a blend of spices that include oregano, basil and thyme.  It was the first time that I had zaatar ever and since then I always get it.

I also like the Kafta pizza which has a thin layer of ground meat pounded on top.  The pizzas are made fresh and they are absolutely delicious!  I wish it was closer tot me so I can go every day!

I've also ordered some to take home and they taste great if you pop them in the oven to heat up.  So yummy ... just thinking about it makes my mouth water!

My cousin told me about this place. Its pretty hidden and you would not think that this place serves pizza. Their sign doesn't say anything about pizza until you go in and read the menu. They mostly serve Arabic food but they have one menu item that is pizza. I love pizza and this place was a good find. I'm a vegetarian. I went with my cousin and my brother who are also vegetarians. We decided to get one regular veggie pizza just to try it out. The pizza is nice and crispy and their sauce is very savory. My kind of pizza.

I recommend this place if you're near by and craving some good pizza.

I still have yet to try their other menu items.

Food: Cheap and fantastic. You can pretty much order anything on the menu and rest assure that it's going to blow your face off with deliciousness. I'm also sure you can probably get good eats for $5 or under. I did it under $3.

Courtesy/Ambience: Needs work. Unsure when they close, we stayed in and ate what we had ordered. During that time, we saw several patrons come in, order, and take it to go...but they turned the lights off on us and sat and watched us eat. Not the greatest feeling in the world.

Super good - went with Rani N. and all the while I was skeptical I'd like "lebanese pizza" - but he changed my mind! Definitely try the simple 1.50 pizza... it's good with vegetables and used as a sandwich.

It threw me off that you pay at the end. It also threw me off how cheap the pizzas are...

Bottom line: try it out - either for breakfast or lunch. The pizza is awesome as a cold leftover, way better than Domino's or the Hut.

Went for a late Lunch , after driving back from UCLA stopped in Anaheim for the cheapest Gas on Brookhurst  street . Then was taken to Amirs  by my friend Myher.

This was a tasty oven roasted fresh pizza . The taste was awesome. They service is quick , the prices low and taste is the best in the west.

On the side fresh vegetables were served and all the healthy drinks are available here.

This is authentic  original  taste of food from Lebanon .
As good as it gets .

There are times when, what comes out of my mouth with the sweetest of intentions is mistaken for A-holeness. this is probably going to be one of those times.....

I tried letting this go but i couldn't. I love the pizza, safiha, zaatar, and whatever else i had here.. what is upsetting is their cheese and spinach calazone. It is such a disappointment. the problem with it is there's raw spinach inside, which warranties it its name and nothing else. This is not what a cheese and spinach calazone is supposed to taste like. you are supposed to put cooked, seasoned spinach in it. the same kind you'd have in a spinach pie/calazone, with lime, and god knows what else. that's what makes it good. but raw spinach.... it feels like grass. goats like grass. i don't. n if i liked grass/raw spinach, I'd stay at home n make a salad. i come here cus you guys bake n baking is magic. so stop this goat nonsense and bring on the magic!

Food is one of the best ways to tie us to our past, our heritage, and memories. With this in mind, enjoying my favorite Mana'eesh at Al Amir with friends and family is like teleporting myself back home to the Middle East. Maybe its the smell of toasted seasme seeds in the oven or my piping hot cup of tea filled with mint leaves. Whatever it is, I am so grateful for this place. If you have a restaurant in mind that does that for you then you know exactly what I mean.

Now, with all the mushy stuff out of the way...lemme tell you about the food. Al Amir serves traditional baked goods you'll find all over the middle east in countries such as Lebanon, Syria, Palestine and Jordan. The highlight of this bakery is Mana'eesh, which is similar to pizza topped with Za'tar (thyme), cheese, or ground meat.

At Al Amir, the Mana'eesh is simply the best. When compared to other bakeries around town, Al Amir's version is more flavorful and authentic.

They also have a variety of other baked items from spinach pies to pizzas. Simply put, there is no other bakery that can out match Al Amir.

DELICIOUS and FRESH. Came here with a friend who introduced me to this place. Prices are reasonable and great selection. Bread is fresh and crisp. I enjoy the pizzas with spinach or cheese. Ingredients are fresh. Made upon order. You cannot go wrong with this place. The pizzas are think crust and not greasy. Unfortunately Al Amir is a bit of a drive but definitely will be returning.

I think I'll dream about this place for the rest of my life. We grabbed two pizzas on the way to the airport, and I spent most of the flight back wishing we'd gotten two or three more. It smelled amazing when we walked in. The spices are unique (we got the zaatar and a sfeeha) and the crust is light, crispy with a bit of chewiness. For the two pizzas, we spent less than $10, including tip. Great to-go food.

This middle eastern bakery uses a brick oven to bake its pies. There is an assortment of 13 choices on the menu all under 5 dollars! The serving size for the price is a great deal. I had the zaater, cheese, sfeeha, and spinach triangles. They were all delicious! I would highly recommend the cheese.

I had been wanting to try this place for a long time, and because it was still open during Ramadan (I never realized how much a Muslim holy month could effect my regular rotation of restaurants) I finally tried it yesterday.

I am a huge fan of cheese pies, which they do have here, along with various other goodies from the oven. We got a Zatar with cheese, a "Calzone" with cheese, spinach, and mushrooms, a cheese and meat pizza, 6 mini spinach pies (triangle guys) and strained yogurt with bread. For two people. Our eyes were clearly bigger then our stomachs, we ordered way too much food.

The Zatar with cheese was good, the cheese pizza with the meat (it was beef) was excellent, I really liked the flavor of the meat, the calzone was good but a bit soggy because the spinach was fresh, the spinach pies had ok flavor but they were not quite fresh, and the strained yogurt (which included its own piece of bread) was awesome.

Seriously, that yogurt with the bread would have been a proper light lunch for one by itself, and it was only $1.95. That was the star of the show for me, and there is no arguing with the value-for-money quotient there.

Still, when it comes to Arab Bakeries in Anaheim, I prefer Forn Al Hara.

But Al Amir is still really good, and even though it is not quite on Brookhurst (It's up Ball Road about a half a block) I'm still putting it in my Brookhurst list because it might as well be.

Im not an expert in Middle Eastern food but DAMN! This place kicks ass. The service is great... very friendly. The food is excellent. David and I had the pizza with meat and cheese I think it was the Soujouk and cheese.. the spicier one and it was soooo tasty. The dough is completely fresh and soft.. just perfect.. The menu is simple. The food thoughtful..
We had 6 of the little beef and pine nuts pastries and it was fn awesome. Plus we had the sour cream and bread thing.. it was amazing too. This is a must to try for those that are craving something different yet extraordinary!!! I highly recommend it.. AND THE BEST THING IS.. IT'S RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM MY HOUSE AND I CAN WALK THERE!!!! WHY HAVE I NEVER GONE THERE!
Very inexpensive .. very tasty.. beautiful mix of flavors and textures.. AMAZING!

Delicious food.  I've been reading about Al Amir for a long time and finally made the drive from Torrance to give it a try.  We ordered to go and had the Zaatar/Cheese pizza, the Lahmbajeen pizza, the cheese turnover, and the spinach turnover.  They all tasted great but my favorite was probably the spinach turnover which had a rich, lemony flavor that was fantastic.  I have no idea whether or not these items taste "authentic" but I can say they not to be missed.  I will definitely be returning soon to this very welcoming and delicious spot in Anaheim.

The name is pretty misleading, I expected some "bakery" items (maybe some baklavvaaa ;D) but no cigar. DESPITE this unfortunate fact, this place is awesome.

We ordered pretty much everything on the menu (way too much for 3 people haha) but we could have been satisfied with a few things.

Everything was very flavorful and the bread was tender in all of the items. They use great cheese. The prices on the pizzas are excellent, on the pies, not as good but by no means expensive. I would definitely recommend ording lebneh or hommos or another sauce because you will NEED it to dip all the bread into.

The service was very friendly and so were the customers there. Although my family can't speak Arabic to save our lives people were trying ha.

I will definitely be back for my fix when I'm in Anaheim again, yalla weekend!

I went to check this place out finally after a long time of just thinking about going there. Lol. When I finally made it, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they offered a chipotle chicken type pizza that was not on the menu. I ordered that and the Zaatar, which I have decided I am not the biggest fan of, there or anywhere. Its too salty and sour, and its just not my thing. This is not Al Amir's fault though, as I havent found that I like Zaatar at any other place either.

The chicken chipotle pizza thing, though.... was delicious. The right amount of spice and cheese. The bread is soft and fresh. They arent stingy with the cheese. It was great. Cant wait to go back! Oh and its super cheap. And right down the street from my mom's house. What more can you ask for?

The bread is made fresh daily. "Our customers can taste the difference!" said he. And we could! The bread was thin but with a nice chew and crisp. No soggy pieces nor were there puddles of grease. The cashier was warm, helpful (with her recommendations and substitute suggestions) and oh so nice. And it was a quiet, casual place.

Three Mediterranean flatbreads and a large vegetable platter fed 3 girls perfectly.

Zaater $1.50: oregano, sesame seeds, olive oil. A little sour but with cheese ($2.25), it was just the right amount of salty and sour.

Soujouk $3.99: like rolled out sausage meet with a kick of spices. I'll try the kafta next time. I think it's similar but without spices, and it's cheaper by a dollar.

Large vegetable plate $3.50: a whole mess of green olives, pickles, mint leaves, sliced tomatoes and sliced cucumbers. They were so refreshing with each slice. We did as the server there explained and used the flatbread like a wrap, stuffing a bunch on top and then wrapping.

Al Amir Rocks! Thank you guys for re-opening it's been a long time since your other place closed down and have been craving your Zaatar for ever and a day. For all those who don't know... This is a middle eastern bakery that is appealing to the taste buds as well as the eyes. They make the dough fresh everyday and the Zaatar oh my godness the Zaater is Fresh and to die for (middle Eastern oregano) non like what you have ever had before. It's like being in Lebanon without flying out to Beruit.
Hands down the ambiance is great but the food is even better. See for yourself. I can go on and on about this place.... See you guys soon. Employees are very friendly.
Rockin Raffi Recommendations: Soujouk and cheese, Zaatar and just plain Cheese. Hope you all enjoy this I know I did..... shukran (thank you)

I walked into this place with a warm greeting and a smile by the workers! I've been here a few times and I am never disappointed. This restaurant has it all!

First the quality of the food is extraordinary. I always get the Soujouk and cheese, and both the meat and cheese is fresh. The ingredients is really what makes it taste so great! I can taste all the spices they mix into the food, which just shows how much they care about producing great quality food.

The workers are always smiling and very helpful with recommendations. If you are afraid to come in here for the first time, don't be! They will guide you through the menu and help you decide on something you will enjoy. I always get greeted when I come in and asked about my experience when I leave.

The restaurant itself is very clean and well kept. The atmosphere is very calming and peaceful. Having a clean restaurant illustrates to me that they take time to clean the whole place, eliminating my worries of food being made in a dirty kitchen.

The price is unbeatable! I can get full for under $8, and I'm a big guy! They don't try to rip you off which is one of the great things about Al Amir Bakery.

If you have never tried this place, you better start going!

I really don't see any downsides to this place. The service is great, the food is a great deal, and the food is fresh and tastes good. You can see them pull the food out of the oven after you order it. You can walk into this store with only a few dollars and leave feeling very satisfied.

The only real warning I would give about going here is to be wary of which drink you choose from the cooler if you are unfamiliar with the Arabic sodas. They can be a bit strange if you're not ready for it, like the non-alcoholic malt drink. The fruity and fizzy ones are great, though. But, that is only for the drinks. As far as the food goes, the quality is great and you can't go wrong.

What better place than this for my long awaited first review.  Alamir bakery takes the cake.

The area that this bakery is located in is dominated with amazing middle eastern cuisine, however, alamir takes it up a notch!  Delicious pizza-like finger food that you fold up and put in your mouth!   Its extremely clean, staff is friendly and food comes quick and hot!

My lady and I went for a quick bite before work, spent $10 and had more than enough food! If you're in the area and craving something quick,

I've been going to Al Amir Bakery since 2006, when it was near Brookhurst and Orange. Sadly, that location burned down. However, it's great to hear that they have a bigger and better location...and it's food that won't drain your wallet.

Every time that I come to Al Amir Bakery, I always get the lahmbajeen (I guess that's how you spell it?). It's a meaty pizza with ground lamb and tomatoes. It has a pretty rich taste and it's crispy because its fresh from the oven!

Al Amir is one great place to get Lebanese-style pizzas. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for quality food at reasonable prices!

Al Amir is a pretty decent Middle Eastern Bakery.  Zaater, #1 on the menu, and Labneh are the items to go with.  If you are eating Middle Eastern food for the first time, the flavors could be a bit strong, but it is still worth checking out.  They have very tasty bread as well.
Staff is friendly, and there are usually places open to sit and eat after ordering.  Not much in the way of decor or ambience, but the price and quality of food more than make up for that.

I've been meaning to come here for awhile and when our first Mediterranean choice wasn't open today, my boyfriend and I went here ;D

Walking in, there were about 4 other tables filled too, a good sign since the place was small.

Perused the picture menu for a little and then ordered at the counter.

We got the popular Zaater & Cheese pizza ($2.99) as well as the Kafta and had tomatoes and pickles wrapped in ($2.99 + $0.75 veggies)

Very decently priced and the food came out quick and hot.

Both pizzas/wraps tasted amazing with this red spice they had on the table which I'm guessing is saffron since it seems to be present at pretty much all Mediterranean restaurants.

The gooey cheese and the herbs on the pizza made the Zaater one very satisfying and comforting. The ground beef and the tangy-ness of the pickles/tomatoes was a nice switch of taste from the Zaater.

Awesome combination! And we were full after those 2 :D

Next time, we'll try the Egg & Cheese and Meat & Cheese! Yum!

We're from the central valley here for a short trip. The service and the food was awesome , fresh and affordable. The people very friendly, answered various questions about different shopping places.
    Highly recommended

Great place for a quick lunch. Must try these pizzas. Very flavorful and reasonably priced. I highly recommend it.
