I love this restaurant!
The raw beef Yukke appetizer has this amazing sauce I love to dip everything in and the Alex #2 roll is my favorite.
Also their tuna sashimi platter is fantastic, I have never had fresher sashimi!
Be careful of nickel-and dime charges (splitting a plate, lunch specials that are not really specials, or change-order fees) just ask your waitress how much it will be before you order something different than what's on the menu, but definitely go try this place, it is amazing.
Also for the dessert the bananas tempura is really really good!
They are opening a location in Brickell sometime, not sure when but I am looking forward to there being another location with perhaps easier parking and a little more space. -

Here's another review about how the Alex #2 Roll is a mouthgasm and a single tear just might emerge the moment you take your first bite.
(Just kidding, but there's a reason why over 60 reviews mention this delectable roll)
Akashi by Sunset Place has been there for as long as I can remember. It always amused me how it looked like a small Japanese hut more than a restaurant.
After about 10 trips to Akashi, I decided that it was worthy of four stars. Why four you say? Let me elaborate:
The food is amazing, there's no denying that. If you're a fan of Americanized Sushi or authentic sushi, this is the place for you.
The ambiance was a delightful surprise, I'm a big fan of black and blue (Tron colors, essentially) and I was pleased to see the blue lighting and the large aquarium in the back. I totally didn't expect that from what I saw outside.
Customer Service/Parking: Mehhh, this is the only reason why I knocked off one star. IF there's parking in the small lot next to Sunset, you still have to pay. There's no Akashi validation. I often find myself parking inside Sunset's garage, which I try to avoid. Customer service is also mehhh. Every time I go, the waiter/waitress is very rushed and inattentive. One time, we were somewhat scolded for not saying our party of three were paying separately earlier. I looked past that due to the environment and delicious food.
All in all, I do strongly recommend going.

Love this place.
The Alex 2 roll is one of the best sushi dishes I have ever had. The food is very fresh and the service gets better ever time. There is one in the Grove, but the original on South Dixie is really best one. -

Great Japanese food on a college student's budget.
Really, I love the Alex Roll # 2 and the sushi appetizers and delicious. I'm not going to say that this is the best sushi place in Miami because it isn't but it certainly is very good.
I recommend this place highly especially if you're looking for a chic but comfortable place to eat sushi, this is your place. -

This place has consistently great, high quality fish. The staff could be friendlier, but they usually like to get you in and out as quick as possible for their busy traffic. I could eat here every day, if only I could find parking.

Review from Philip B.
First time at Akashi tonight and enjoyed the food very much. However, the service was just so-so. First of all, this place is extremely small and cramped which I knew going in but it was still a bit of a shock upon walking in. The aquarium behind the sushi bar was awesome and the decor in the place is very cool as well.
To begin with, it took 5 minutes to even get a server or someone to come over and get a drink order. Also, all night the servers rushed us through the meal. I've worked in restaurants before so I know they need to turn tables over, but you still shouldn't overtly make the guest feel rushed. It was just annoying and rude if you ask me.
However, the food was top notch. We ordered the pork spring rolls, which I thought were dreadful. They were soggy and the sauce that came with them was flavorless. At least they weren't expensive. Next, we ordered 3 sushi rolls: (1) Alex Roll, (2) Dane #2 Roll, and (3) Mariano Roll. All three rolls were fantastic, but my favorite was the Dane #2 roll, mainly because it was loaded with tuna and cream cheese and I'm a sucker for both.
I'd come back again in the future, but I'd hope to not actually be rushed next time. -
Review from Lisa S.
Mmm akashi! This is my favorite place for sushi off the beach. The salmon sashimi is super fresh and they give you an entire plate full.
The Alex #2 roll is also delicious, be sure to ask for extra eel sauce.
Service is consistent and friendly. Parking can be annoying but we generally have luck from the parking fairies because there's always a meter open whenever I have pulled up to Akashi.
Can't wait to go back soon!Listed in: Miami Favorites

Akaski is the BEST SUSHI in Miami!
Food: A+
Outstanding sushi rolls!! Alex #2 is by far the best roll they have! EVERYTHING I have tried and eaten here has been PHENOMENAL!!
Service: C+
Service is always bad! When I say bad, I mean service is slow, not very friendly, and sometimes it's difficult to get ahold of your waiter. The place is tiny, you would think gettting a hold of your server would be easy... not with the Akashi service.
Ambiance: B
Akashi is literally a hole in the wall. If i didn't make reservations everytime I went, i would have waited anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and a half to be seated. Great place for college and up. No kids menu, small place with no room for kids to be rambunctious...This is not a kid friendly place and if you have kids and want to eat sushi, please do not come here. Also, if you are going during a busy time, Akashi is VERY LOUD! Sometimes it's hard to speak over the noise if you are sitting at a table of 4 or more. Great place to go on a date!
Although the service is lousy and the restaurant is extremly loud (during peak times), I will forever go to Akashi for sushi!! It is simply the best in Miami! -

Miami, FL
The only reason I knocked down a star is because of parking AND it's a little cramped. That being said, everything else was great! Service was wonderful and even though my boyfriend and I thought we were going to end up fainting because of the hunger we felt, food was in front of us pretty quickly.
We ordered Tuna and Salmon Sashimi and though it was my first time trying Sashimi I felt like I hadn't really lived till that yummy piece of tuna was in my mouth. I had the Alex #2, we shared a Dragon Roll, and he ate a Sunset Roll. Alex #2 was amazing but my taste has changed. Even though it was very good and I'm not taking anything away from it, I prefer now a less fattening sushi roll. Dragon Roll was just right and the Sunset Roll was very light and refreshing. All in all it was a good experience and though you might end up having to squeeze your butt through tables just to sit, trust me amigo/a, it is worth it! -

I have only gone to Akashi twice and the experiences were the same. There was nothing really memorable about the place that pops out and screams "WOW this is a great place". Their only bonus is the wide variety in their menu.
The down side to this place was the waiter that always seemed to be hiding from the main floor, the small space that they have for their guests to sit down, and their rolls were cut really thin so I couldn't really taste anything.
The people that I was with really enjoyed their food so maybe I just got unlucky with my experience. I might be back when Akashi is not so crowded and try some other rolls. -
Review from Meg H.
So I think Akashi's food is generally better then good, however there are a few things that bother me about this place. First of all, the parking isn't great. Not that it's great anywhere in South Miami however the pay lot behind it is always packed, and there is very little to no street parking.
Second complaint, the place is SO tiny. I wouldn't normally mind that but it really is cramped in there and I think it has a lot to do with the design. Third complaint, is that their rolls are AWESOME however they cut them so thin they just fall apart every time you pick one up- it's pretty frustrating.
Here's the thing...the rolls are actually really good. I know that some of my complaints are out of their control, but when it comes down to making a decision of where to go for Sushi in the SoMi and Gables area, they aren't really my first choice. -

I stopped by for lunch based on the Yelp review. I had the #1 -- six pieces of nigiri and a California roll. Pretty conservative order, bordering on lame, I know.
HOWEVER, I was really impressed. Everything was fresh and delicious, EVEN the krab stick! I know Cali rolls probably shouldn't even be considered sushi, but this one, though small, was really delicious. The krab nigiri was delicious. Also I had the obligatory salmon, tuna, yellowtail, shrimp, and white fish nigiri.
I'm looking forward to going back and being more adventurous. -

Move over Sushi Sake....Hellooooo Akashi! This place serves the most delectable rolls you've ever tasted hands down! The food is always fresh! The rolls are cut into perfect bite sizes - so if you are on a date, your mouth isn't stuffed beyond belief where you can't even get a word out!
Ambience: Nice, chic - they've remodeled the place so is more intimate friendly and well structured inside to fit better. In other words, more space. Get ready to wait - always always a line but soooo worth it. Orgasmic worth it lol
Rolls: Spider, Dragon (my favorite, I know so traditional), Phoenix Roll is awesome! Instead of rice, it's wrapped in a Crepe. Super innovative. And...of course Alex #2 ROCKS! It's like a Dragon + cream cheese inside + it is rolled in this crunchy substance that just tickles your mouth hehe
Price: $$ - Affordable - Average $10 per roll. Take out ok too if picnics suit you. -

Ok just so you all know I hate sushi & seafood as a whole, but I can now say I have found a roll that counter acts that statement and I thank Akashi for that.
I came to Akashi around 5pm on a Friday, and it was basically dead with the exception of a few other people. My friend who loves sushi forced me here knowingly that I hated sushi as a "last hope" kind of thing. He said "If you dont like this, then there's no hope for you" so I went with it. I liked the dim lighting and the fish tanks. The place is very narrow so I was thankful that it wasnt packed. I ordered Chicken Fried rice (delicious) as a safety precaution just in case I hated the roll, as my friend ordered The Alex #2. Food came out and I was excited to finally try this infamous roll everyone raged on about. Finally, I pop one in and it was love at first bite. It was perfect, the texture, taste, quality, and that crunch- soo good. In love with the prices, taste, and place, I paid less than 20 dollars and walked out a new me. A me that ate and liked sushi.
Akashi, I thank you for making me a lil more normal. Alex #2 you are #1 in my heart. -

We had the sunset roll and the vegetable roll with no rice. Both were very good and definitely recommended. It was good sushi worth going back for. We went before the crowd so there was no wait. If we had to wait in line during the peak times we probably would choose another restaurant. The sushi was definitely good, but the restaurant is small and crowded so not worth the wait. There is probably just as good sushi out there that you don't have to wait as long for just because it's a trendy restaurant to be seen at.

I come here all the time. It's a great place and the sushi is always fresh. Only downside is that it's kind of small so at times can get pretty loud. Other than that, service is good, food is good and fast when your in rush during lunch. Will definitely be going back!

It pains me to have to revise my review for Akashi and drop it down to 3 stars, because aside from Sushi Republic and Makoto, this is still my favorite Sushi place in Miami. But here i am, giving it 3 stars instead of 4!
So what happened?
Well, in a nutshell - SERVICE
The last three trips I've made to Akashi (and I go there atleast once or twice a week) the service has been awful. Flat out poor service. First you stand by the door for what seems like an eternity, just waiting for someone to seat you. Waiters look at you, but dont bother to say anything or assist you.
Then the waiter takes even longer to take your order! At one point we had been in the restaurant and seated for more than 20 min before anyone even took our drink order! It was shocking to me.
The group next to me got so restless and tired of waiting that they actually demanded someone take their order.
After they take your order, the food comes at a reasonable time, BUT, service all but vanishes from then out. The waiter almost never comes back to check on you or ask if we need anything else. They might visit you one time. Thats it.
I cant believe how awful the service has gotten here. It used to be so good! I still remember my very first visit, our waitress was so attentive, helpful and sweet.
I hope they improve their service soon. I don't like having to give them 3 stars for truly good sushi!Listed in: Best Sushi in Miami

Review from Alex H.
Ambiance: VERY Busy; limited space
Food: Good food
Drinks: Limited with focus on Asian alcohols
This is one of my go to places when it comes to Sushi. Always great service and always excellent quality. Biggest problem they have is their very limited seating options due to the small building space. In the last year, they rearranged the tables and seating to help accomodate a few extra tables, but that can only go so far when waits for large parties will be quite extensive if you don't plan ahead.
The sushi options are vast and they do not use MSG as one of their ingredients. Well worth the visit.
Bottom Line: Recommended -
Review from Caro d.
If you haven't had the fried rice here, you've never had great fried rice.
For the past 9 years I have used Akashi's fried rice as the golden standard to which I compare all other fried rice, and nothing else, not even fried rice in San Francisco's Chinatown, has even come close. I'm not going to speak to it's authenticity, but it _is_ incredibly tasty.
Any time near a traditional mealtime means Akashi's going to be packed, try calling ahead and making a reservation because there isn't much of a waiting area, the place is tiny, a literal hole in the wall - although it's much more chic now, after the renovation. The menus aren't even stained with soy sauce anymore, so it's definitely an improvement (I'm pretty sure the walls are still a little stained though, so watch out for that).
My favorite rolls are: Spider, Dragon, Alex #1 and Rob, but I've never met an Akashi roll I didn't like. -

Who the hell is this Alex and why are his rolls so acclaimed. I dont get it.
If you ever wondered what it feels like to stand on the corner of a heavy commuted corner of a street and get confused for a prostitute this is the place to be. Placed right smack in the middle of US1, it's a little hard to concentrate and enjoy your meal as you pray to little 8.5lb baby Jesus that a car doesn't ram into the restaurant and interrupt your meal.
Aside from that, the local is very nice. Theres an amazing saltwater aquarium that adds to the nice, youthful and energetic ambiance to this place.
And the food is great! Totally recommend this place! -
Review from Elyse W.
Okay, so I still haven't gotten over where this place is located (I'm still convinced a car's going to ram into the place any second) but I definitely had a better experience here last night.
Sat at the bar, watched fish and quick-fingered sushi chefs do their thing. Service was great and quick -- really can't complain.
I went with a friend who was shocked I thought Akashi was shit to the poop degree. So, she introduced me to the good stuff on their menu -- their white fish and jalapeno hand roll (perfectly crisp), tuna tartar (had an interesting kind of a chipotle type kick to it), and their night and day roll (one roll done two ways; one has eel making it sweet, the other has tuna making it savory...and clever) were all very un-shit to the poop degree. They were actually yum to the *can-we-order-another-one? * degree.
Well done Akashi, I won't roll my eyes when people tell me that they like you anymore.Listed in: Just go because its awesome

One fish, two fish. Raw fish, cooked fish.
Akashi is the home to the best roll I've had
You'll compare it to all else and make all else look bad.
You'll find it on the menu, It's called Alex #2.
It's great for those who want to try something new.
The crunch
The flavor
The taste
The texture
Everything is great about this
delightful adventure!
Newly renovated from the looks in the past
Though the service and the food continues to blast
one's sushi experience out into space
When you come back down to Earth
you'll think that it's laced
With drugs?
With MSG?
With something to lure you in
None of the above
but the taste must be a sin!

Review from Johnny L.
That's It! I've read enough reviews about the Alex #2 Roll damnit! Every other review on this place covers it, so I wanted to try something else...but I didn't.
Sorry guys. Hate to let you down. But if you seriously came to this place and didn't get the Alex #2 Roll, well you shouldn't have come at all. Though not entirely true, but the Alex #2 is one of the better rolls I've had in Miami. Akashi is still an excellent restaurant that serves up incredible food in the most cramp of places. I don't know how they made a restaurant out of a dark hallway, but it worked.
The service can be good at times, but they are usually busy running up and down. Make sure you flag them down if you want to order something. The menu is fairly large and the sushi menu is expansive. Their exotic sushi rolls all looked incredible, but reading all of the reviews led me to the Alex #2. I also got a Crab Salad Temaki (hand roll - Cone shaped sushi) and a chicken fried rice. I eat with my eyes.
I don't usually buy into hype, but this roll (Alex #2 - $11.00) is something extraordinary. It is a shrimp tempura roll with crab salad, avocado, cream cheese, spicy mayo, and tempura flakes. (There is also this incredibly sweet thin sauce on the bottom of the roll) I usually like sushi to be simple so that the flavors don't end up masking each other, but the blend of ingredients was wondrous. Accompany that meal with a bowl of their chicken fried rice ($3.75) and you have yourself a wonderful dinner for under $15. The chicken fried rice was just as great. Probably some of the better fried rice I've had in South Miami (and I'm Asian). The rice wasn't soggy or sticky and was wonderfully seasoned with tasty pieces of chicken. The bowl looks small but it does a number to your appetite. I also had a crab salad temaki, (as if I wasn't overly full by now) but it wasn't that great. It tasted good and all, but was pretty small and not worth the $4.25.
Overall, Akashi held up to the high expectations I had for it. Is it the best sushi I've ever had? No. But it's located fairly close to my house, and it's got wonderful food for good prices. I will definitely have to try other sushi rolls because they all look appetizing. Make sure you get a bowl of fried rice to go with your sushi and you won't leave hungry.
P.S. If you can't find metered parking, don't park at Sunset Place. They're a ripoff. Do yourself a favor. Go to the parking garage across the CVS tucked away behind Ra Sushi.Listed in: Best Places in Kendall, Sushi in SoFlo

Ahhh Akashi!
So I had some friends from out of town visiting and of course I had to work. I wanted to find something close to my work so we could go eat on my lunch break. I YELPed the are and finally decided on Akashi. Parking is an OK situation, it's located near Sunset Place. So there are meters everywhere. While approaching the place, I realized I had passed this place many times before and never thought to come in. Upon entry I noticed that it was very dark inside... and small. This place can get really busy as we were cramped in really close to people. But it's all good. This is the perfect place for a date. Low blue lights, the fish tank... it has a romantic ambience to it.
The menu is EXTENSIVE. I couldn't decide on anything so I took a gander at what our neighbors were eating. The girls next to us suggested the Alex #2 roll and said it's the best one. So we ordered 2 of those and 2 hot bagel rolls (playing it safe). We also had some noodles with chicken and I can't remember what it's called but my friend swallowed the meal whole. No chewing! So everything was delicious! So delicious, for the next week my office ordered out from there. The service was average. If this place was bigger they would probably prosper! Love it and will def return! -

This is my favorite place to go for Sushi in the entire Miami! Great fresh Sushi ....my favorite one is the Alex #2 roll. If you go to this restaurant you have to try this roll! They have good sushi, good rice and wine ....what else can you possibly want?
The only downfall in this restaurant is how small it is! It's literally 2 long extended booths to the right and to the left of the narrow location. You eat crammed and the wait is usually long if you go with parties bigger than two! A best time to go is during the week and it is still packed. However, so worth the wait! -
Review from Jor-El G.
Akashi is a tiny hidden little sushi gem that is sure to please the cravings of any sushi fanatic in a very delicious way. The Alex #2 roll is to die for and I had their plum wine which was was quite unique and tasty. Akashi is fair-price but definitely delivers in terms of flavor, presentation, and service. Great choice for an intimate dinner date.

Review from Anne G.
I really wanted to give them five stars, I wanted to be like yes best sushi dinner ever! But it wasn't, and its more like a 3.98.
Me and my honey came here for our anniversary dinner last night(his choosing Ive never been before), and I had read so many great reviews so I was up to coming! I was very very surprised how small it is, I kept thinking oh theres more restaurant through those doors, no no thats just the kitchen.
We arrived at about 8:45 and we were told 50minute wait. No big deal. Parking wasnt even an issue, we got into the metered parking lot, two girls were leaving, and they even gave use their parking pass that still had over an hour left on it! Hows that for the start to a good night?!
One reason they lost one star is service, the hostess clearly confused us with another couple, came to tell us a table was ready, then when she said the name we were like no thats not us. And teasing a hungry pregnant girl, you just dont do that!! Then we couldnt find the waitres for awhile for our bill. Another reason they lost the star is I just can't stand it when places charge for condiments, so annoying! But I still gave four stars despite that because they let me bring my tea from outside into the restaurant and even gave me a glass with ice to pour it into.(I assumed the wait was really going to be an hour so we went to cvs and bought me an ice tea for some sugar in my system, I dont normally bring my own beverage to places)
On to the food! We ordered the 'Alex 2' roll which Ive read so much about and my bf mentioned it as well, so I was like all right gotta try this! To be honest, I was a little disappointed, its so hyped up, and it was good, just not amazing as I hoped. We also ordered the 'Tempura bagel roll' which he and I were in agreement was much better then the 'Alex 2' roll was. And a small salad at the start of dinner, their ginger dressing is easily the best ginger dressing Ive had in any Japanese restaurant. Hands down! We were going to order more food, but they give you so many pieces of sushi, even splitting that I was completely stuffed and my bf was full as well! So a dinner for two with an Ichiban and appetizer for $27 before tip is a very very good deal! Especially since I offered to pay for dinner earlier in the day lol!
I will come back when I can have sashimi because my bf kept telling me their sashimi is awesome, and Lord knows Ive been dying for some tuna sashimi!Listed in: asian fare

man Akashi has great sushi. it's so perfect i can hardly stand it!!! but i have to reiterate how much the service SUCKS!
i came recently and it was not packed (unusual for Akashi) and the service was STILL slow and very cold. the staff does not make you feel welcome at all!!
oh, and apparently they charge you if you want a side of eel sauce. i was surprised when the bill came b/c i've never been charged for eel sauce in other places. it would have been nice if the waitress would have said something about it.
i feel like writing to the owners of Akashi and recommending that their staff read Countess Luann's book "Class With The Countess". maybe they can learn a lesson or two on etiquette.

This place is probably the BEST place in Miami to have sushi. I am a big fan of their 'Caliente' roll, it's what I order when i am really hungry as it's actually a 'filling' roll. The roll sizes here are perfect and they are also well stuffed.
Other notables:
The Beef Negimaki
Vegetable Spring Rolls
Spicy Tuna Roll
Also, the service here is always on it! -
Review from Y P.
Miami, FL
I hate that I'm given this place five stars. The service was extremely below par. And I absolutely could not stand the hostess. The place was cramped and tiny. BUT, the rolls were some of the best I have ever tasted. And that is enough to get the five stars from me. I know, reviews on Yelp should not be only based on food but overall experience instead, but these rolls were so delicious, they sort of made the bad parts of my experience forgettable and forgivable and. I would sort of compare it to a dysfunctional relationship where you have horrible moments with a girl but the good moments are so great, you don't even care about how bad the bad ones were.
If you come here, you HAVE to get the Alex Roll #2. I can honestly say this is the best roll I have ever tasted. I know that everyone raves about this roll on their reviews but it is rightfully so. I also recommend the Part Time Roll, which is almost as delicious. To drink I had a cold green tea, which to me was absolute perfection.
The small size of the place seemed bad to me at first because it got a little loud and I had to wait for a long time but once I sat down, I realized that it sort of added to the experience and made things seem a bit more authentic. I really wish they worked on the service though. It was absolutely horrible. But for once, this one flaw won't keep me from coming back, like it might at other restaurants.Listed in: Best Thing I Ever Ate…

When am I returning? That's the thought that comes to mind as I begin to write this...along with: wow that was some good sushi! What's the name of what I had? I'll be damned if I remember... it probably had crab and there were crunchies on top. The place is VERY small and the service was slow...I went on a Sunday. The tastiness of the food is enough to make me return.

Everything was "bleh"
We started with miso soup. bland.
Stir fry chicken. The chicken was dry and overcooked. The veggies were good. Not enough sauce. Had to add soy sauce for some flavor.
California Eel Roll. Tasted old with an aftertaste.
Overall, very mediocre. Still looking for a great sushi restaurant in South Miami. Certainly not found here. -

I come here all the time with friends! I love the way they re-decorated everything. It has a great atmosphere. They staff is pretty average in service but then again it is always super super super packed. They do the best that they can.
The food is fantastic. I recommend the south miami roll and the alex #2 roll.
The chirashi is delicious and the presentation is beautiful. The tartar is wonderful in flavor and they add just the right amount of ponzu sauce to give it that really tangy flavor.
For what you get with the food the prices are very nice. Everything there is pretty affordable but on the pricier side of affordable for a college student :)
I highly recommend this place if you're in the South Miami area. Just get there early. Its a pretty small place that gets full very fast. -

Cozy, dark and inviting little spot.
Must order items: tuna tartare, sashimi appetizer, Alex #2 roll, South Miami roll, fried rice, hot sake & Saporro
Parking is mostly street/metered parking so keep coins handy. Otherwise, you can park in the Sunset Place garage.
Staff is fantastic and you will frequently find the owner working behind the sushi bar, preparing your food. This is a sign of great food quality.
Do it.
It's the best.Listed in: Who says 'you always get what…, Miami's Musts!!!

Miami, FL
I have heard and read many great reviews for this place. I have eaten here one or two times, and cannot bring myself to like it - why? because the place is really small and closed in. There is not a single window and it is very dark, thus, my claustrophobia kicks in big time.
If you're claustrophobic and/or don't like small and dark places I recommend you avoid this place and go to many of the other great sushi restaurants in Miami.
Unfortunately, I can't comment on the food b/c I've never been able to enjoy it due to the discomfort.Listed in: Warning Warning Warning, Sushi

Miami, FL
Came here for lunch a few days ago with the BF. and really enjoyed my first time at Akashi. We quickly found parking in the metered parking lot across the street. Had we come for dinner, I'm sure there would've been no parking available and we would've been stuck parking in the Sunset Place garage, and paying way way too much money. So, I definitely recommend coming for lunch.
Upon entering it looks like a really long walkway with tables on either side. The walls look like they're illuminated and at the end of the walkway there's a fish tank and the sushi bar. I felt like I was on a runway.
Being seated took a while. There was no hostess and no sign saying to seat ourselves, so I just awkwardly stood there until someone finally acknowledged my existence and pointed to a table.
To start, we ordered the gyoza appetizer, which was delish. It looks like a fried empanada with pork inside. I'm really not describing it as good as it tastes. The BF ordered Kani-Su, which basically looks like a regular sushi roll (filled with crabstick, avocado & masago), except it's rolled in cucumber and topped with a sweet rice sauce. Even though I HATE cucumbers and want them nowhere near my sushi, this was actually pretty tasty and definitely worth trying. Don't know if I'd order it again for myself, but would not mind sharing.
The BF ordered the South Miami roll (salmon, crabstick, cream cheese, avocado, cucumber, spicy mayo & masago), while I went for the Alex #2 roll (shrimp tempura, crab salad, masago & cream cheese - topped with avocado, spicy mayo, eel sauce & "crunchies.")
The prices were pretty standard for Miami sushi fare, and the service was good too.
