I have been a patient at Akasha Center for Integrative Medicine for almost three years and continue to be amazed at the level of medical expertise, the breadth of disciplines represented, and most importantly, the deep care that is offered to each patient. I have never even HEARD of a medical practice that operates with such excellence. Dr. DeMello and his entire staff of doctors and practitioners make me feel like an incredibly important person, and my confidence in their every recommendation and procedure is utmost.
The supplements that have been recommended to me have been very helpful in creating optimal health. I am totally impressed with the high quality of the products. I give Dr. DeMello, Akasha Center for Integrative Medicine, and Akasha Naturals a FIVE STAR rating.
If health is important to you, I recommend that you make Akasha your choice for primary care.

I first started visiting Dr. Edison De Mello about 16 years ago. Edison was my therapist and so it was bitter sweet when I found out that he was moving on to practice medicine, as I thought it would mean less time with him, but it made sense. I knew that Edison truly believed and understood that body and mind were connected and that he could best serve people as a doctor of both.
I can't tell you how much Edison has helped me, first as a therapist and as a doctor. It is safe to say, I would not be where I am today - married, healthy and happy - if it weren't for the care I received and continue to receive from Edison. Though he moved on to practice medicine, if I needed to see him as a therapist, he always made time for me and to this day, I feel like I can always depend on him to be there to help with any problem.
If you're looking for a smart, caring and kind doctor who understands the interconnection of mind and body and won't treat you like a number, I can assure you that there is no better choice than Dr. Edison De Mello. -

Akasha center is run by an an incredible Doctor by the name of Edison De Mello. The entire facility is devoted to full body, mind, and soul well being. The lighting is soft, fountains are running, coy pond in the front - the place is an oasis of healing energy. It is not an in and out facility. When you go, the doctors sit down with you and listen carefully to what is going on. There is also the wonderful feeling that they DO want to savethe patient money. I highly recommend the Akasha center For Integrative Medicine - they care about their patients, and I depend on them.

Seriously, if you want more than 15 minutes with a gp who appears distracted, this is the place for you. I'm so pleased with how much time, concern and general kindness that the whole staff gave me. And as a macrobiotic vegan they speak my language. I couldn't be happier.

Although I've lived in the States for 10 years, I've only recently developed a relationship with a primary care physician, namely Dr Myles Spar at Akasha. I can't say enough in praise of Dr Spar. He has gone beyond any expectation I may have had to be available for me to get to the bottom of my ailment. He has been immensely caring and generous and I'm truly humbled to have him as my doctor.
I can't praise Dr Spar highly enough,nor all of the Akasha staff, and have no hesitation recommending him to anyone. -

The Akasha Center is a sanctuary for wellness. Both my husband & I have been patients for many years, all the Doctors are so caring, you really feel heard & taken care of whatever issues you are going thru.
They work with you not only to resolve current health issues but they create a personalized wellness plan to insure you have a roadmap to optimium health.
After experiencing the exceptional care at Akasha we are spoiled for any place else. And where else can you find medical doctors, acupunture, massage, naturopathy, psychotherapy & meditation all under one roof.
I can't recommend it highly enough, if you are looking for Doctors that practice integrative medicine this is the place for you! -

I am so thankful to have found the Akasha Center. I had put off for awhile going to the doctor out of fear. Dr. De Mello helps you feel comfortable and safe. The last time I was in I thanked him for all he was doing to help people. He really takes his time with you, addressing all questions and concerns. I also have seen Dr. Qiao, Dr. Ney and Dr. Desai. They all are caring, patient and helpful. The center is a beautiful space, calming and homey. There are welcoming, pleasant people at the desk, to make you feel at home, offering tea and a warm smile. I highly recommend the Akasha Center. It's one of those places you want to take all of your friends and family with you to experience such wonderful attention and care. This is a safe space to step through the fears of addressing health concerns.

Dr. Maggie Ney at Akasha Center is a wonderful doctor. I had a terrible PMS for a long time but didn't want to take birth control pills, so I went to see her.
She took time to listen to me and she gave me some dietary recommendation and homeopathy and herbal supplements. For the first time in a long time, I had a very easy pre-menstrual time. Not only that, I am experiencing improvement in my energy. I began exercising again, and I feel like I finally got my life back.
She is not only knowledgeable but also very caring.
I'm so glad I found her (I actually read some reviews on Yelp before I went to see her), and I trust other people can benefit greatly from her service. -

Dr Ney changed my life. It sounds extreme, but it is true. After decades of suffering from serious stomach issues, including Crohns Disease, I was desperate to find a better answer than the heavy medications prescribed by my gastroenterologist.
I found The Akasha Center and from our first meeting Dr. Ney began to evaluate me from a broad based perspective. She created a health and hormone program that has been effective in bringing me back the ability to live my life again.
On Dr. Ney's suggestion I have also been seeing Monika for Japanese acupuncture. I was a bit skeptical at first thinking it seemed a bit "new-age" for me, but I was amazed by the results.
Both of these women are at the top of their profession. I have been impressed by their abilities and touched by their humanity-Sometimes all too rare qualities in our healthcare professionals. I HIGHLY recommend The Akasha Center to anyone! -

What is it about doctors and hair stylists in LA? They're a dime a dozen, but finding a good one is like trying to find a needle in a haystack!
Justin is right on point. In my opinion, Dr. Myles Spar is their greatest asset. I started going to Dr. Spar a few years ago at another office. He left, I lost track of him, but eventually found him here and am so glad I did.
Akasha essentially combines eastern and western medicine for a greater result on your path to wellness. It's located in a cute little bungalow in Santa Monica and feels more like a spa than a doctor's office. The entire staff is really helpful, efficient and genuine - something that is a novelty in most doctor's offices.

This office is like no other 'medical' office. The practitioners are all so warm and caring. I love the fact that they blend eastern and western medicine...you truly receive amazing, compassionate and complete care at the akasha center.

Dr. Maggie Ney at The Akasha Centre healed me completely from my Cervical Dysplasia Stage 11 NATURALLY - no Leep, no cone biopsy or any other crazy method your offered/pushed to have by Medical Doctors...although having the Escharotic Treatment takes more time and effort it was so worth it to have to peace of mind that you've done what's best for your body and allowed it to essentially heal itself. Dr Ney's positivity & kind nature really makes you feel at ease throughout what can be a very emotional and stressful time for any woman, she's a fantastic Doctor and after 4 months working with her I feel better than I ever have and will continue to go to her with any issue's I may have. The Akasha Center really is a wonderful place - 5 stars isn't enough in my opinion...

The Akasha Center is a sanctuary dedicated to health and healing. Just walking into the courtyard I already feel nourished! I recently came down with severe bronchitis just before I needed to teach a four-day yoga teacher training. The support I received from Dr. de Mello and everyone at Akasha helped me recover rapidly and fully. It was amazing! I'm so grateful to be able to recommend Akasha to my friends and students and to know they'll be cared for with insight, skill and compassion.

It doesn't get much better than Akasha for your health. I consider Akasha so essential that I pay out of pocket for things that would be covered by my HMO at my "other" doctor. The level of care doesn't even compare - Dr. DeAndrea was who drew me in and I've stayed. Dr. Maggie Ney is now my primary doctor and she is incredible. How many doctors actually care about who you are? Or prescribe yoga and hikes (along with more conventional things). Outstanding care and a commitment to my wellness keep me coming back.
