Review from Claire Z.

Best Japanese cuisine in Colo Springs. My family and I had the rainbow and caterpillar roll, alongside tempura vegetables and udon noodles. Unlike most Japanese places, this food was fresh and prepared skillfully. You know you've gone to a good sushi joint when you don't need to dip your sushi in soy sauce-- BIGGEST OFFENSE! It was as if my family and I were back in Japan, BTW, I was born and raised there. This place is the closest thing to it, especially without paying a butt load. Domo arigato!

We went for lunch yesterday. It wasn't our first time at Akasaka, but I had forgotten how wonderful it is. I love the decor. It makes you feel like you're in a comfy, but true japanese restaurant. The food was great. I had an Udon soup, my husband had a combination lunch plate, his brother got a noodle dish, and my daughter got a "kid's meal", which is a mini version of the adult combo with real foods, not the "kid foods" you get at other restaurants. They also brought my daughter (2yrs) a bowl of rice to keep her hunger at bay before we even ordered. Great service. The prices were great, too. Don't know how it could get any better. :D
