Stopped in here on our way home. We were in Salem for a concert. If this place was near my house, it's the type of place I would frequent often. The servers were so friendly!! Outstanding service and the guy sitting next to us was so funny. This place was surprisingly huge!! It looked like a hole in the wall.. But wow.
We had breakfast. DH had the steaks and eggs which was the special and I had my two eggs and hash browns. Delish!! Food/ drinks were cheap!! Awesome place. Glad I checked in here so I can remember to come back when I'm in the area again. Again, awesome, awesome service. Thanks again!! -

In town for West Coast Haunters Convention recently and hit AJ's on Saturday night.
Didn't eat, but we sure drank! The place was very accommodating to the mass of costumed party people with quick service, good sound system and a nice outdoor area.
Kudos's AJ's for putting us up, we'll be back again next year. -

This is a good dive bar, as was evidenced by a couple dozen people here at the tail end of the lunch hour. It would have rated four stars had it not been for the almost unforgivable gap in their condiment line-up. All bars/taverns in which French Fries are served must have Malt Vinegar! It's a given! Why is Salem/Keizer behind the curve on this? My server, Crystal, to her credit, tried to comply with my request. She brought me Balsamic Vinegar. I explained the difference. OK. This is only one of my two small bitches. The other is my perennial gripe about processed lunch meat. Enough said on that. What I had was their Cheeseburger and Skinny French Fry lunch special. ($6!) It was a 1/3 lb patty with American Cheese, Tomato, Lettuce, Special Burger Sauce and a half dozen crisp Dill Pickle Slices. It was very good. The French Fries were perfectly crisp, as ordered, and could not be improved upon. The mix of people enjoying their fare was a full spectrum of working humanity from laborers to business people and everyone in between. I like this. I also want to mention that they have a great looking Beefy dinner menu that I really want to try sometime. I love places like this. I recommend it, but bring your own Malt Vinegar. I'm buying a bottle tomorrow to keep in my car!
