They have such a great selection of organic and natural foods. They even have take and bake Mochi...Whole Foods doesn't even keep this stocked! All the best options and a great selection of Micro Brews. I am SO glad this place is my closest corner store.
Not to be high maintenance or anything, but they also have the types of gas pumps that allow you to let go of the handle and have the fill lever held open...many local Soquel/Capitola gas stations took these off in the past year so you have to stand there and hold the lever. -

This is my most recent FAB FIND in the area. The gas station on the outside is deceiving as it does not show the inside which has great stuff. Incense, good beer selection, organic produce (I believe), toys for the beach, they even had a knock off of my hounds tooth fedora.

I love this market! It's quaint, but has a lot to offer. They carry lots of local items and ethnic food that's hard to find in SC. The staff is so kind and helpful! My friends from San Francisco thought I was crazy when I took then to a gas station for lunch, but were very impressed with the chicken burrito and falafel wrap.

Best Chicken Shwarma!!
I stopped in to check out the new grocery store out of curiosity while getting fuel. Inside I found a huge variety of ethnic foods, most of which I have to travel to San Jose to get. It is amazing how much good stuff they have in there. There were some excellent curry sauces that my family enjoyed immensely. They also have a huge and interesting variety of cheese, meat, coffee, tea, ice cream, produce, baked goods, spices, and chocolate.
So I went back, this time out of my way, to get there. Who would be running the grill/deli counter but the the most likable fellow: Thier! He is a chef rock-star in my book, and I would often go to his last restaurant for burgers, falafel and chicken shwarmas. I hope he makes more rice pudding.
This place has something for everyone. I would skip 41st to shop here. -

I love you Aj's for the following 5 reasons:
1)You always have green Kombucha
2) When I a want to pump gas and get a burger I can count on you.
3) When I forget to buy certain veggies I can run down the street and you have my back
4)You carry amazing steaks
5) Oh yeah, your chip selection is on point
Please do not be fooled by this gas, food combo. I know it sounds a bit "sketchy" however, its everything you can ask for and more.... -

Best Burgers!
-Jalapeno burger is nice & spicy w/ the jalapeno's & siracha mixed right into the patty.
-Mushroom burger is loaded w/ sauteed mushrooms & grilled onions.
-Onion Rings & Fries are delicious & the small size feeds two.
We always phone in our order & pick it up to go. Service is always super friendly. Who woulda thought a gas station would serve such "to die for" burgers?! Love this place!! -

I've only been here once since they remodeled, but everything in the deli/ meat counter looked awesome and the Philly Cheesesteak was out of this world! Friendly staff and a great selection of products. This is the best gas station store, ever.

Great local corner store. Friendly, convenient, clean, good variety, fresh local produce and wonderful meat counter/deli. I highly recommend the breakfast burritos, hamburgers and hot pastrami sandwich.
P.S. Also has the best drive-thru car wash in the area! -

I got a sandwich here and was very disappointed. For the price it should have been a lot better. They're all served on cheap hot dog type buns and over all it was just very unappetizing. When I got home I made a real sandwich...Other than that, the people at the register are always nice and I like the stores selection. I also like how they sell those little individual bites of cheese. Yum.

I love the Mexican salad in the deli case when you first walk in. Big enough for two....
Bummed that they stopped having Tri-Tip sandwiches during the week, now only served on Saturday's, starting at noon. -

I love AJS! For one, they hire great people. Secondly, I love that I can find a bunch of diverse foods. It's a great place to stop in while on a bike ride down soquel.

I never thought I'd be a regular shopper at a gas station! This place is clean, reasonably priced and has some rockin' hamburgers. My usual purchases range from the freshlly made dolmas, milk, mochi, bread, fresh strawberries from the Cabrillo Farm to gyros and fresh meats. Service is friendly and efficient. Highly recommend AJ's for its meat market and other fresh goodies. They even have Starz cupcakes.

Best gas station on Earth. I love this place. Their food is so good, and priced well. Great service too. Only qualm: can't get cash back and I wish they sold lottery tickets.

AJ's is a definite "Must Visit" in Soquel... the specialty foods and produce are fantastic. Be sure to visit the grill for some of the best burgers, wraps and sandos in the county. Fries and rings are unreal... wine selection is a deep and priced right... 5+ stars

Uh...good bye 7-11, hello AJ's. This is the first health food mini mart I've seen. Forget an item at Whole Foods? No problem, just stop by at AJ's and I'm sure you will find it. And If you said I would be ordering food from the grille at a gas station, I'd say you were nuts or taking some questionable "medication". But, as you have it, a trusted friend raved about the food here. I had a burger and fries and it was good. I saw a greek salad with grilled salmon and that was impressive. I believe the owner is middle eastern. He also serves up chicken wraps, flafels, and gyros.

Just wanted to add another great review for AJ's. Perfect 1-stop shopping for a quick and delicious meal. I can be in and out of here in 5 minutes with fresh fish or meat, organic veggies, a Gianna's pie or cookies and can cook up a simple and healthy meal in no time at home. Their Greek salads with grilled fish are also super tasty and, as everyone says, you feel good supporting these folks because they are so nice and helpful.

this is a great gas station and store. they have an awesome meat market, gourmet groceries that aren't overpriced as well as regular groceries. they have bulk bins, fresh sandwiches and other food. i come here primarily for my Starbucks Doubleshots and yogurt covered pretzels from the bulk bins. they staff are always nice, the store is always clean and their meats and organic produce are very reasonable. in a bind i will run to AJ's for lettuce and veggies for my guinea pigs.

Well this is the little market that could. Not only can you gas up and grab some groceries, they added a deli , serve burgers, gyros and falafels. I trip out that I can get one of the best gyros and falafels in the county at a gas station/mini market !?! . The groceries are not over priced, they have a nice Tasty Bite selection, Mariani's ice cream, fresh produce and nice selection of cold Lagunitas as well of other good beer. Good work AJ"s crew!
