Love this place!  Ajisen is the kind of eatery that you wouldn't necessarily go out of your way to eat at, but when you are in the vicinity it is that reliable staple that you can always count on for a good meal.  For a food court, the quality and flavor is bomb; and for Century City, the amount of food you get for around $10 is much better value than what you'll find elsewhere.  I work in the area and always look forward to getting my ramen fix, especially on cold days where nothing is better than a big, steaming hot, spicy bowl of soup :)  I've had the ajisen ramen, vegetable ramen, spicy beef ramen, curry beef ramen, and spicy pork ramen and all are solid, but the spicy beef and spicy pork are my favorites.  The meat is always tender and the broth flavorful, and combined with the noodles and veggies, soooo satisfying!

Admittedly, I have yet to try the famous Daikokuya, so maybe my standard for comparison is a little different.  But I've had a LOT of good noodle soups in my day, and Ajisen hasn't let me down so far.

The two star really says it all. Meh...

For two bowls of ramen for me and my friend... $19.00+ (nothing else).
The taste was alright, but nothing like the other ramens I've had. In fact this was probably the worst one. "

I ordered the spicy pork ramen. My mistake. There was barely any spicy pork in the ramen. It had about the equivalent amount of spicy pork as you would get in an instant bowl noodle. The char siu (pork) was too tough, I ended up not even eating it. The broth is also very salty. Spaghetti noodles? Ugh..

    Ramen rank: C/D

    Flavor: C
    Presentation: C
    Noodles: D
    Value: D

    Advise for management:
Check the quality of the Char Siu before putting it in a customer's ramen.
Check the broth before putting in a customer's ramen.

    Pros: Customer service was great.

I wanted to like this place so badly.

I had the pork rib ramen and my friend had the spicy beef ramen (mild).  There are two things that make ramen stand apart from your ordinary soup noodle: the broth and the noodle.  Ajisen Ramen, I'm afraid, missed the mark on both those things.  The broth for both our ramens was bland.  Granted, my uncultured friend requested a spicy broth mild, that's still no excuse for the broth to lack any flavor.  The noodle was an even bigger disappointment.  It reminded me of noodles used for spaghetti.  I don't think I need to say more about that.

In all fairness, the pork was very tender and tasty.  I also ordered their milk tea (without boba since they were out) and it was tasty and sweetened to perfection (I tend to like my milk teas pretty sweet).

This place is located in a food court, so my expectations weren't all that high.  The service is fast enough and the portions are huge (for a food court).  You can even see them make your Ramen.

Honestly, the reason I ordered Ramen over Panda Express or a burger was because I really like bowls they have on display...

So I teetered back to our table when our bowls were complete (balancing 2 ramen bowls and 2 drinks was both a physical and mental challenge).  I got the beef bowl.  Pretty tasty.  Not too salty.  There was flavor, but I would have liked more.  The meat was fresh and lean.

I left the table full and satisfied, but if I'm not craving noodles, I may just head to one of the other places in the food court as this one doesn't leave me with a craving.

Ramen for ~$9, ordered the spicy pork... came with 3 juicy tender slices of pork, spiced ground meat (pork again?!), seaweed, half ( SIGH ) a salted egg which was NOT SOFT, and other typical toppings... just FYI the bowl is so heavy to carry!!  Must mean good value.  Broth is super good even though I didn't want to finish all of it (oily and heavy and salty = bloat!) so the bf helped me after his burger -__- but anyways, help yourselves to sriracha (don't be too greedy with it or else it'll kill the actual *ramen* flavor).  Noodles are perfectly curly and tasty.  Ajisen is a GOTTA TRY!!

    Ramen? Yes please!

    Ajisen? No thanks, sadly.

Ordered the chicken ramen, as it looked delicious on display. But oh my - did the bottle of vegetable oil leak into my ramen? You could see a film of oil layering the top of my dish. How disgusting.

It's evident that they didn't give it a stir before plopping it in my bowl. All the flavouring (pepper, etc.) was at the bottom.

The chicken lacked any sort of flavor, which is a shame, since I was given a ton of meat.

Won't ever return. For $8.50 + tax, I expected something decent.

    It was awful.

    C'mon, let's be real here.  It's a small ramen kiosk...at the mall.

This isn't a restaurant where you sit down and little ladies come with trays and there is some older ramen chef slaving over a pot of steaming broth...  it's a stand...in the mall food court...to the left of Baha Fresh.

For the immediate surrounding businesses in the middle of Century City for those of us who are on an hour lunch break before heading back into the office, Ajisen is a nice option for cold windy days.  If you don't feel like the typical mall food fare, it's nice to know you have somewhere to go that offers hot noodle soup.

    Is it organic? No.
Is it made by scratch every day?  Probably not.
Will you need to add a little sriacha to your broth?  Most likely. ( I do every time)
But guess what?  This isn't Little Tokyo or K-Town.  This is in a food court...at the mall... which is situated in the middle of a bunch of business buildings.

The food is good.  Nothing amazing.  But it's nice to have the option if you want it.

Yum! This was my second time at this chain, and my first experience wasn't that special but the second time's the charm! We got the curry beef ramen, and it was delicious. The beef and the noodle were great quality and the curry taste in the broth was amazing. It was filling and satisfying, but like Miguel R. said below, it's kind of expensive to eat here. I'll take his suggestion and try Daikokuya on my next ramen expedition!

There's not much to say about the service here except the ramen may take about 5-10 minutes to be ready. And it's in a food court, so there's plenty of seating!

This is my favorite Ramen place.  The broth is thick and rich.  They give a lot of meat and vegetables, so it's not just Ramen and broth.  It's a bit on the pricey side, given that it's Century City, but I can't complain.

I know health nuts frown upon excessive consumption of sodium but when I'm presented with a big hot bowl of salty noodle-y goodness...I just can't refuse!!

I think Santouka has been touted as the best ramen in LA but I actually preferred Ajisen's spicy pork ramen that I enjoyed tonight to the Santouka's classic salt ramen.  The broth was whiter, which meant more pork fat and flavor, and the meat was more tender.  Ippudo still has the best noodles, hands down, but Ajisen's held their own.  Ramen purists may not like the abundant slivers of boiled cabbage but I appreciated the extra veggies.

As a self-proclaimed ramen lover, I'm definitely a fan of Ajisen Ramen.  I also love the promise of shopping bliss that awaits me after I'm done slurping up every last noodle.  If you're at the Century City Mall, definitely stop by the food court and get yourself a bowl!

Good review by Katie B.? Made this place a must try! :]

I don't know how I've been to Westfield Century City SO many times and failed to see that they had a food court here. Total. Idiot. Well, better late than never. It's been chilly in LA recently so my friend and I thought ramen would hit the spot.

    Our order:
    Spicy Beef Ramen
    Chicken Ramen

    Our tips:
    - "Spicy" isn't that spicy at all if you like hot foods
    - The broth in both dishes was tasty
    - The noodles weren't the best, my friend said it looked like "packaged noodles"
    - First time trying chicken ramen and it was delicious here!
    - We didn't have space but for dessert they also have flavored shaved/snow ice

It was a cold Friday night. The hot steaming noodles and broth was calling me to eat it but I went my way to puruse through the rest of the food court. I ended up coming back to have Ajisen Ramen. Definitely wasn't disappointed. I had the premium pork ramen which was very tender.

It's amazing that the food court ramen can taste better than the other ramen restaurant in Westwood. It is definitely much more flavorful. However, boo for teasing me with shaved ice and not actually having it. They only serve shaved ice during the summer =(

I was sick and desperate.  I wanted ramen and I didn't want to drive.  Ajisen was a last resort.  I suppose it wasn't bad for food court food but my standards are a little higher than that.

The Premium Pork Ramen wasn't worth the premium.  The pork was cold and not tender.  The soup had some weird cabbage that didn't belong.  The noodles had no texture. Overall, it was not good.

The people-watching was terrible as well.  All I saw was a bunch of out-of-town tourists eating Panda Express all around me. Wonderful...

All I can say is I can't believe I didn't try this place sooner. I wasn't expecting such good ramen from a food court. I've only been there once but this place has been added to my "regulars" list for my weekly lunch rotation.

My friend recommended the spicy pork ramen and it was amazing. I love spicy food but most so-called "spicy" dishes usually aren't spicy enough for me. This place surprised me. It was spicy to me which means it might be too spicy for some. This dish had a little of everything to make it simply perfect. It had spinach, half a hard boiled egg, sliced pork cutlet, ground pork, ramen, picked radish, and amazing spicy broth. Top it off with a taro milk tea slush with boba and you have the perfect blend of spicy and sweet.

I can't wait to go back here again.

Ajisen Ramen was a very pleasant surprise for me this past Friday night. I was waiting for my friends to meet me to watch a movie in Century City, and decided to check out the food court. I was so happy that I was greeted by a sign that said AJISEN RAMEN because I also happened to be starving!

Really good thing about this little spot? The ramen came out with a quickness!! The wait took less than 5 minutes, and the restaurant was pretty crowded too! Not only did it come out fast, it tasted really good. It still doesn't beat Daikokuya for me, but this is probably the next best thing when it comes to decent ramen for me.

The first three hours of parking in this shopping center is free! With that being said, I don't think there's anything stopping me from eating here at least once a week after work. This spot is awesome, and I really wish I found out about it earlier.

For a food court ramen place...Ajisen is exceptional. NOMNOMNOM!

Really, not bad, especially since this is located in the food court of Century City.

Their broth is pretty decent & they do add good amount of ingredients for you to. Service isn't too friendly, but fast (I can see it as an nice option for those who work around the mall). Their drinks were also pretty good.

My only complaint? Their noodles. I really didn't like the noodle they used in the ramen.. but like I said, overall this place is not bad.

For being a mall Ramen place, its decent.  But definitely doesn't compare to the  many other legit ramen places in the area (Ramen Yamadaya, Santouka, etc..)

The pork in their Ajisen ramen is like the pork you get at Niyija market, not sure how to describe it, but its a lot more salty than the other places.  The noodles are good, and the broth is just okay.  The broth lacked the depth of flavor you get from places that really take their time in making sure the broth has the full pork bone flavor from hours of slow cooking.

One more thing, the egg that comes with the ramen is fully cooked, not the half-cooked kind you get at Yamadaya or Daikokuya like I'd prefer it to be.

I would only come here again if I was already at the Century City mall and was craving ramen.

Ohhh how I love this place. The fast food of ramen! It's so delicious. I've tried the veggie soup (in the meat broth), the kimchi soup, and the spicy pork ramen (I get the spicy pork on the side...I can't handle all of it!). I think the egg is my favorite part - don't forget to get one if it's not included in your soup!

Ajisen is located in the Century City mall food court with it cornucopia of excellent options.
I had the spicy pork for lunch and overall it was tasty and a little spicy and would be 4 stars but after returning to my desk I had an unending urge to drink copious amounts of water. I didn't notice it while eating but I would love someone to tell me how much sodium is in that soup, I'm guessing 5 kabillion milligrams. Seriously I felt like I was crossing the sahara but when I looked up, I was still my office.

I LOVE AJISEN! The first time I've tried it was the one by Rowland heights! My bf and I wanted ajisen and saw that there was one in century city. So instead of driving all the way to Rowland heights we came to the one in Santa monica. First of all, the cashier, she's an Hispanic chubby girl that had attitude while she was taking our order like she didn't wanna be there and talking to us like we were stupid when we would ask a question and she would slam her finger or her pen when she would put in the order and literally she wouldn't even hardly listen to us while we're ordering because we had to repeat everything to her!! Very bad customer service! But the food was good as always!

I consider myself  a bit of a ramen connoisseur and I have to say
I am satisfied. I have had better, but for a ramen restaurant to be opened in a mall like century city my expectations weren't very high but they exceeded them-above and beyond.  The prices are very fair considering the quality. The broth had a very nice consistency, the noodles were cooked to perfection and I really enjoy the beef they use. This is my top choice for ramen if I don't feel like making my microwavable favorites.

Everytime I eat in the Century City Westfield food court since Ajisen's opened, I can't help but choose Ajisen.

My friends and I are ramen connoisseurs.  Jamie C. likes Ajisen the best; usually Daikokuya is the clear winner.  I don't agree with Jamie C., but I can't deny that Ajisen is good.
Typical price for ramen anywhere -- even for Daikokuya or Shinsengumi, with about the same portion...  but that says a lot compared to the more pricey options in the rest of the food court.  I came once with Michelle N. who ordered a tempura combo at the Kichi Grill that just opened up which ended up costing $11 and had less food!

As a purist -- I usually order either the Ajisen ramen for ~$9 or the Premium Pork ramen for a little more.  None of that extra flavoring for me!  The broth is pretty good, and I'm always content after a ramen craving.  Not too salty like Santouka in the Mitsuwa markets can be.

Best thing -- in terms of being in a food court -- is that you have those buzzer coaster things that alert you when your food is done.  This way, you can hover over people as they finish their food to grab a seat WITHOUT holding a tray of food.

$9.25 for pork ramen and $3.45 for honey green tea.... EXPENSIVE!!!!

Ramen should not cost more than $8!!!!

Came here today with the ArmaNaco (another ramenaholic) and my BF for lunch at the Century City Westfield mall. Loretta C. let me know about the Ajisen ramen chain after she read my reviews on my ramen list.

Two things come to mind that went against my experience eating Ajisen ramen. 1. it is a chain and 2. I would be eating it in food courts.

I tried to put those things out of my mind and got into line. The first thing I noticed is they are EXPENSIVE. Even the price of the ramen bowl itself (before paying for extra toppings) at Shinsengumi isn't this expensive. The lines are not too bad and they give you one of those vibrating thingies to let you know when your order is ready. The area where you pick up your food is kind of narrow for maneuvering and I wonder how many accidents have happened there haha!

The broth is almost as good as Daikokuya's broth and that is saying a lot!!!! The broth at Ajisen does not have as much of a kick as the broth at Daikokuya. I'm not sure if it is the lesser amount of soy sauce or pork flavor or both. The ramen noodles are much better than Honda Ya and Orochon but they are not as firm as those at Daikokuya and Shinsengumi. It is important to note that even though the noodles are not very firm they don't have that Maruchan feel and taste to them either! The pork is thinly sliced and tasty but some pieces were a bit dry and it is definitely not melting in your mouth quality as at Daikokuya. They are very stingy with their toppings here :( No bamboo shoots, no ginger, no hard boiled egg - just cabbage and green onions. Worst of all the meal is not filling. However, it is important to note that only Daikokuya serves a bowl that I have been unable to finish several times.

The honey green tea tastes funky! It tastes like some Japanese soaps smell.... I did not really like it and boy was it expensive! The cup is medium sized.

Overall I am impressed that ramen in a food court and from a chain can taste so good! That's quite a feat. I would give them more points if they were not so really really ridiculously expensive here!

    PREMIUM PORK RAMEN $10.15
broth - delish! especially after we added some chili oil
        noodles - perfectly cooked
pork - tasted a lot like jok bal (pig feet) thinly sliced but very good
toppings - so stingy!!! with cabbage and green onions.. it would've
been so much better with more of those.. :O

'Twas yummy.. but so expensive for ramen!
    I know it's cuz they're in a food court.. :P
(I haven't tried that many Japanese ramens..
only the spicy Korean ones that cost like $0.75 each @ the markets.. lol)

    I x3 noodles~

I only eat here because its the only noodle soup I can get in Century City during lunch.

Ajisen is pretty mediocre if you compare it Shinsengumi and Santouka. But nonetheless it hits the spot when you want soupy warm goodness during lunch.

I usually get the Spicy Pork Ramen because it has both ground pork and those delicious chashu pork slices and a spicy broth.

I hate ramen.  My husband loves it.  So that's a tough place to start.

We stumbled upon Ajisen when it had just opened in the Century City mall's food court.  We had just recently had a series of bad ramen experiences, the most recent being at a shi shi pop up restaurant.  My issue is consistently not enough protein.  And I'm not looking for a pound of flesh, here.  Just a reasonable four or five ounces of meat!  When my husband saw Ajisen, he looked at me with puppy dog eyes and I said, "Fine, I'll give ramen ONE MORE SHOT."  And I have to say that I'm glad I did.

I ordered the Premium Pork and it was quite delicious, especially for mall food.  The broth was warm, rich and comforting.  The noodles were delicate and perfectly cooked.  The pork was flavorful and they gave me a reasonable portion of it.  I do wish they added more cabbage to the mix, but that's really my only complaint, and it's not a complaint.  I enjoyed my meal as it was.  Also, free refills on soda!  Yay!

I am by no means a ramen expert (see opening line), but I'm grateful that Ajisen popped up just when I was about to write it off completely.  My husband thanks you, Ajisen, because there's more ramen in our future thanks to you!

Tucked away in the corner of the food court by the Century City mall's food court lies Ajisen Ramen.

Which oddly enough, it is a Chinese based chain that sells (Japanese) Ramen. Scratch your head and move on - no big deal. This is a great place to grab some food before/after watching movie or during one's shopping day. Prices are reasonable, they accept credit and they also serve decent boba.

They have a decently sized menu with pictures to aid in your decision making process. So make your order, get your buzzer and wait patiently as you try to find somewhere to sit nearby.
I chose the Pork Ribs ramen this day and was pretty pleased w/it. There was a lot of fat to eat around, but no biggie to me. My friend ordered the seafood ramen. The broth in each are different (as it should be) and wasn't too salty.
I kinda wish that you could select the size instead of just one large bowl, but oh well.

I give it 3.5 stars, I want to round up due to convenience of this location, but my friend's order came out wrong TWICE so they only get 3 from me this time. I will give them another shot though.

Ramen is a comfort food to refresh the soul and energize the mind at all hours of the day or night. Discovering Ajisen Ramen in the Food Court at Westfield Century City was a welcome option for a quick pre-movie dinner.  As many of my friends know, I'm a third-degree Rameniac with an incurable desire to eat ramen anytime & anywhere.

Makes me think of the intro song to Animaniacs sung by Yakko, Wakko, and Dot ...

    It's time for Ra-men-i-acs
And we're hungry to the max
So just sit back and relax
    You'll slurp till you collapse
    We're Ra-men-i-acs

Ok, that was silly... at least it was better than dropping in a Flock of Seagulls (1982) reference with "I ramen, I ramen so far away. I just ramen, I ramen all night and day. I couldn't get away ..."

I opted for the Premium Pork Ramen with Extra Spicy Add-in.  Fairly standard broth and noodles were topped by a huge portion of thinly sliced pork.  The spice ($1.75 extra) really helped the soup a lot.  A decent option for an addict desperately in need of a ramen hit.

Tender Pork Ribs Ramen was Olivia's choice. It's the same base noodles and broth except has super soft (and gooey) Pork Ribs.  Didn't seem like a low-fat option at all, but she enjoyed it.  Not really special, but definitely A-OK.

Ajisen Ramen is a convenient Century City ramen dealer when you've just got to have noodles to pacify a ramen addiction.

For a food court ramen store, I had very little expectations from Ajisen. However, my first bowl of  premium pork ramen was pretty amazing. The flavors were there and I ranked it pretty high on my list of top ramen shops on the west side. Fast forward to 1 year later and I am now a very disappointed patron.

I stopped by the store today for a quick meal and ordered a Shoyu Ramen and was disappointed in the quality of the meal. First, the broth was on the salty side and made it hard for me to consume. My egg tasted like its been overcooked/refrigerated because it was rubbery! Lastly, my noodles were not cooked properly because they were still stuck together! Out of all the things that I was expecting to go wrong, I didn't think they could mess up the noodles. I don't think I will be returning to Ajisen anytime soon...

    Dry and tasteless.

No, I'm not talking about my sense of humor (or lack thereof).  I'm talking about the "special" pork ramen.

Really, for $10, I would expect fatty pork belly with a rich and creamy broth.  Instead, I got thinly sliced, dried out pork jerky sitting in a bland soup.  Ok, I guess the menu didn't actually SAY it was pork belly or tonkotsu ramen, but still, the pork really could have been a lot better.

The noodles were just ok.  Not much koshi to them and a little clumped together, like they just came out of a package or the refrigerator.

All in all, not the best ramen by any stretch of the imagination.  However, considering it is in a food court, this is among one of the better options compared to a lot of other malls.

Tip: Premium Pork, Spicy Pork, Pork ribs Ramen

solid 3 stars. There are definitely better ramen spots but for a mall food court (century city mall), its not bad. Its a decent lunch option when you dont want baja fresh or panda express.

Make sure to order a hard boiled egg if your ramen doesn't come with one. Its a nice touch to the ramen. Also add some of the spicy seasoning to your bowl to add a nice kick (its not that spicy).

Since ramen is usually a pork based soup, most pork dishes would go well. The premium, spicy pork and pork ribs are all winners. If you dont like tendon/cartilage, stay away from the pork ribs.

This place is okay, its nice because its in a food court and the food took only about 10 minutes to come out so its good if you are in a hurry!  I got the Ajisen ramen for about $8-9 and the broth was average, there wasn't much flavor to it.  The noodles were good and the pork slices in it were decent, but to me ramen is all about the broth and I wasn't impressed.

Also, make sure you ask for water when you pick up your ramen.  I asked for water (and I KNOW I said glass of water) before I paid and they gave me bottled water (and charged me for it - since you pay first and pick up later).  This was probably my fault for not double taking when she charged me $11 but still a little shady.

Sometimes when it's true love, and it's over, you try to find a replacement for it, and no matter how you try, you can't even get past first base without comparing it to true love... and that's an awful feeling, that you won't recapture that bliss.

That's been my Ramen experience in LA. I had Orochon and was wow'ed, and since then I've tried every other Ramen place I can find, and nothing comes close. It was fine... tasty... and close to home... but it wasn't love. Just a one night stand.

I'd say 3.5 stars, but I'm rounding up.
The ramen is good and the portion is big.  The staff is really friendly and she gave me her opinion on some of the ramens.  She told me not to get the beef curry ramen, but rather the beef ramen, so I did.
The ramen broth is very salty, which probably should be toned down a bit.  The beef is also fatty around the edges, which makes it unenjoyable.  The noodles are great and it's a big portion, I just wish the beef was more lean.
