I was visiting Miami for business and staying in the Doral area. I usually stay in this area and have hit up pretty much all the restaurants in the area.

Had never been to Ajiacos though and was pleasantly surprised. The food was really good. I haven't had a lot of Colombian food experiences but Ive had darn good tampiquenas @ Mexican restaurants and I know this Colombian Churrasco I ordered was bomb! (the two dishes are basically the same meat cut) The meat wad delicious and perfectly seasoned. Had it with maduros (sweet plantains sautéd in butter) and rice. I also had some empanadas as appetizers and these were delicious! The jugos here are good.

Only reason why I wouldn't give this place mote stars is because it was dead. Maybe I got there too early.

The service was very good though. I'm definitely making this a regular stop on my visits to Miami.

Worst colombian restaurant! The food is bad, the service blows. The waiter was wearing a Bluetooth device the whole time, when I asked for anything no matter who I asked they had the worst attitude, did I forget to mentioned I was the only one in the restaurant. The soap dispenser was empty, which means the employees dont wash their hands when they use the bathroom. If youre in the area and are looking for colombian food dont go here, I recommend driving a couple of blocks down to Mondongos at least the service is way better and they look a lot cleaner.

    What.A.Fucking.Nightmare.

SO, my boyfriend and I were hungry for real food (rice, chicken, etc.) at around 10PM on a Saturday night. Driving around Doral, we passed by Ajiacos and decided to give it a try since we knew it was open later than usual. This place is located on the left side of the Sedano's shopping center.

The second we parked and got off the car, we were overwhelmed by really loud spanish music, coming from the back (or outside area) of the restaurant. We walked in, however, only to see that the inside was empty (compared to outside) and it was nice and (kind of) quiet :) just how I like it when I'm trying to have a nice dinner. OR SO I THOUGH :|

We went in there, I ordered breaded chicken breast with rice and french fries, my boyfriend ordered grilled chicken with rice and sweet plantains. It was OK. Nothing special. Monserrate is like a thousand four hundred and sixty seven times better. Just sayin'.

Anywho, 15 minutes into being in there (it was freezing by the way), I started to become extremely nervous as I saw....A DJ. Yes, a real life DJ, in the corner of the restaurant with his entire set, about to start playing. I wanted to fucking shoot myself.

Mind you, there was a huge screen on the wall playing music videos (already slightly louder than I'd prefer) AND there were like 4 men on the mini stage in the corner, fixing microphones and saying (1,2,1,1,2,2) like every 5 fucking seconds for the entire time we were in there. So you throw that ^^^ in with a DJ playing pieces of (annoying: reggaeton, house music) songs, extremely loud, and what do you get? A person who is NEVER coming back in there again. It was horrible. I mean, it was beyond horrible. They then decided to turn off the lights. At that point, I wanted to contemplate suicide. That on top of the fact that the waiter was a total idiot who we had to waive our hands and practically scream (you couldn't hear yourself think), everytime we wanted to get his attention.

I'm sorry for the rant, but this place pissed me off so bad. Please, avoid this as much as possible. Unless you're a 40+ person who likes loud annoying spanish music with terrible service. I saw so many older ladies dressed like skanks... oh FUN.

The food wasn't everything i expected and the service was terrible even though there were only like three tables being occupied at the time of my visit.

Our area is saturated with delicious restaurants to choose from, yet when a new Colombian restaurant opens I will be one of the first in line.  I was NOT disappointed. The restaurant decor is delightful, very typical and the wait staff friendly.

The grilled fish was DELICIOUS, and I was surprised at how big my companions fried "Mojarra" was.  The prices are  a very good value per dish (the typical Chicken, potato, & corn soup "Ajiaco" is $5.95).

They also informed us that on Friday and Saturdays they are open until 3AM, so for the late night diners its a real treat.

I really can't wait to go again.

Depending on your love of Mexican oldies you might love or hate this place. This is a nice place to karaoke on thursday nights if you like spanish music. They also have reasonably priced drinks. The music isn't overly loud and the DJ tries to mix in decent music. Beware: the place gets packed of 40 year old lady-groups who drink too much and sing too loud, but it's a blast. I highly recommend going and giving the mic a try!

The decoration and food don't disappoint either. I loved their tequenos and flan. I recommend both. I don't recommend their ceviche, though. go to a Peruvian place if you want good ceviche. They also have live band son the weekends, so check them out. It's the perfect place for a girl's night out, latin style.

My coworker lives around Doral area and she suggest us to go to this restaurant on a Friday after work happy hour.  Their drinks special is really good price, mojito is only $4.95. I only try the mojito but some of my coworkers try other drinks. They said it was so-so. So stick with the mojito.

Food was very good and the price is very reasonable. I had a churricos steak. it was only $14.95 and a big skit steaks.
I sure will go back again.

Quite a misnomer... how do you grill and Ajiaco ???
They did a great job with the decor took a failing rotelli's and retooled into an authentic colombian restaurant - the only thing they didnt fix was the AC - bring a sweater or ask for an outside table or you will freeze. It has a lively atmosphere and on weekends the place turns into a party. The food is quite good and authentic- you would wonder why it shows for sale in the MLS ... hmmmm

I am lowering my rating to this place because quality of food is not consistent , maybe they have changed the chef because in my last visits food was not as good as earlier visits, empanadas were not fresh, Frijoles and chicharron were not good at all. This restaurant is located in a shopping plaza in the Doral area. I'm Colombian and I've tried almost every single Colombian restaurant in the miami area, well, I'll review this one as the best one in miami, the place is nice, staff is friendly and quality of food is really good, Empanadas are very good, and the aji served with them is really good too.The bandeja paisa is great, very good flavor, best colombian red beans in miami, beef is tender and flavorful, food really tastes like  the one you had in Colombia The atmosphere on weekends changes, they have a show on fridays and weekends, live musicians, a guy playing guitar with great colombian and spanish music.
