Looking for someone to work on your home can be a daunting task. Sure you can do your research, look up reviews on Yelp, and hope for the best. But it's hard to tell how fairly you're being charged, and you never know who's going to show up at your door.
To sum up my experience, for blue collar work, Aaron provided white glove service.
I had Aaron clean out air ducts for two apartments in my building. For starters, he was super, super polite over the phone and responded promptly whenever I left him a message. I can't stress how relieving it is knowing you're working with someone that's prompt and responsive. It's a cure for a major headache without the pill.
What's more, the type of cleaning he provides is similar to other vendors in the Bay Area, but a lot cheaper. I shopped around a bit, and AJ Services was 10%-40% less than the competition.
Aaron was respectful of the premises. He even had booties to go over his shoes so he wouldn't dirty up the floor (when's the last time you've had a plumber or a guy from Comcast go that extra mile?). And with a friend visiting from out of town working from home, and my fiancé sleeping in after working the graveyard shift, it was great to have someone focused solely on his job, going through each step of the process in a methodical, timely fashion. Not there to make awkward conversation, or huffing and puffing and leaving a mess everywhere. In and out, period.
I only I wish AJ Services did more services than the ones they offered on their website. Plumbing, roofing, gardening... -

I was pleasantly pleased with the job that Aaron did in my home. We would always get lots of dust on our dark furniture even though the air filter seldom wouldn't get that dirty. Since he brushed and vacuumed our ducts very little dust now appears. He noticed a couple issues with the furnace causing the extra heat loss as well. He seemed very professional and polite. We also had the dryer vent cleaned which also had lost its hose clamp which he fixed. I definitely would use him again.

I am a landlord of a property in the Bay Area. My tenant told me they are nice guys and did a great job. Apparently, they go above and beyond what is required of them - Aaron even took a razor blade to clean out the louvers on the heater vents after a sloppy paint job that was recently done. The ducts had not been cleaned in a long time so they got a lot of junk out of there! They also gave us a great idea on how to make our particular heating system work more efficiently (we have a weird setup).
The price was great and they stuck to the quote they gave me over the phone.
I will definitely use them again! -

Arron did the dryer duct cleaning work very professionally in my house. He arrived on the very time he promised, and finished it within an hour as he estimated. He clean up all the working area, and I can see lint come out again in my coming use. He also answered all my questions and gave me good advice at same time.
As well as, the price is very reasonable.
I am super satisfied with work done! Definitely going to use his service again and again in future. -

Very professional and extremely courteous. they even wore something over their shoes to prevent any dirt/scuffing/whatever to your flooring. highly recommend these guys. as you can see from other reviews below mine, many are very happy with Aaron and team. i'm extremely satisfied with the vent cleaning and even the dryer.

Fair price and Aaron was professional, friendly and felt he was honest from day one when I asked for a quote an appt. He spent about 2-2.5 hrs in our home cleaning each vent and furnace. They were filthy and gave us some recommendations for our filters and heating issues in our home. *****My only dislike ***** was that under each vent that he worked on had a layer of dust and dirt after the cleaning probably from the vacuum itself or its hose (it was gross especially in my daughters rooms), so my recommendation is to cover whatever furniture or items you have underneath the vents before hand and you will still have to dust. I had to re-vacuum, mpp and dust those areas off. Next time Ill know what to do and expect.

My highest form of compliment is to write a review without trying to be funny or clever, just to write and get to the point.
Aaron deserves my highest compliment. He came over to my home to clear my dryer vents. He was punctual, professional, honest and thoughtful.his charges were reasonable and cheaper than other places I called. he has a calm confident but gentle demeanor about him. I have dealt with a lot of people who you have to size up and have second thoughts if they are telling you the truth. at no time did I feel the need to question his advice.
He even wears shoe covers to keep your home clean.
About his work: the plan was to clean from behind the dryer into the wall and up the ducts to the outside of the house. He said that he only got a handful of clogged material during his cleaning.he was able to figure out I had a roof mounted exhaust exit and the clog was up there . It sat on the top of 3 story roof, like over 40 feet high. He came prepared with a 28 foot ladder and was able to access my roof from my second story patio. While up there not only did he find the issue and cleaned and fixed it, but he also did a long overdue gutter clean up at a discount since he was already on the roof.
I can say without hesitation, if you are looking for air duct, dryer vent, gutter cleaning, there is no better choice than Aaron -

Very professional, punctual and good service. Aaron gave quote on phone that was accurate. They arrived on time (even called in to inform they'll be 10 min late due to traffic) explained everything clearly and completed the work as promised. I'm glad I called them - they found some issues with duct work and even suggested how to fix one minor problem myself. All in all, happy with their work and will surely do business with them again.

This is the first morning that I woke up without hearing pigeon noise on my chimney in about 4 years since I built my house. Thanks to AJ Services. They are professional, courteous, and got the job done. Rarely do I see good contractors like this. Aaron is well educated, well mannered, organized, and systematic. We need more contractors like this. Strongly recommended !

Another great find on Yelp. I've been putting off getting our heating ducts and dryer duct cleaned out for too long and am glad I found Aaron.
He was able to give me an accurate quote over the phone on a Monday and was at my house on time on Friday to take care of the work. Just as the other reviewers before me noted, Aaron was extremely professional, detail-oriented, honest, and communicated very well.
He gave a great post-job summary of the issues he encountered and provided solid recommendations. The work was completed as quoted and on schedule. It doesn't get any better than this, folks! -

I am very pleased with the work he did, he went above and beyond my expectations, down to wearing contractor booties! He even repaired things he found weren't up to par and didn't charge me! Aaron is amazing and incredibly professional! He came and cleaned the ducts and furnace. A few days later I was down in the garage and heard a funny noise coming from my furnace. Knowing that wasn't happening before I had the furnace cleaned, I called Aaron for help.
Not only did he show up THAT night, but he brought a co-worker and between the two of them figured out what the issue was and fixed it. Now THAT is excellent customer service!!!

AJ Services is amazing. Their care and customer service to our home was outstanding. They're very conscientious about cleanliness, and made sure we received HIGH quality service with our appointment.
EVERYONE needs to clean out their air ducts and vents periodically. Pros will say "annually." I'm not a pro so I don't know. But since we've lived in our 1950's home for 7 years without a cleaning, I'd say it was about time.
They came on Friday, right before an anticipated heat wave the following week. Cleaned out 10 vents, two bathroom vents, and the furnace. Every time I looked into the cold air return, I saw 'fuzzy' stuff. I thought it was just a lot of dust. To my SHOCK, some previous owner decided to line the interior of the cold air return with insulation. You know, that stuff that goes in the attic and makes you itchy if you touch it. The owner lined the INSIDE, not the outside of the vent which is what most sane individuals would do. And it's 'fuzziness' was due to years of built up dust that turned yellow insulation into black carpet. AAAUUUGGG!!!!!!
AJ Services got all up into the cold air return vent, and removed all the insulation while performing normal cleaning. Mind you, this would qualify for 'additional services' that other companies will charge for. AJ Services did it without even flinching. When he came back down from the ladder, it looked like he cleaned my fireplace, and not my furnace.
The next week, the heat wave came, and the AC worked with higher efficiency. Everything smelled better and is a lot cleaner. AJ Services even taught me which size filters to purchase and how to install them myself. I'm calling them again next year, because I like breathing right and not sneezing when the furnace + AC runs. -

I needed my dryer vent cleaned, so I checked Yelp and found A J Services had good reviews. I called and left a message. My call was returned pretty promptly, and we set up a time for Aaron to come out. He told me he might be able to come a little earlier, and that he would call me. He was true to his word, called and said he could come a little early. He arrived and set straight to work. He was personable, and did an excellent job. He cleaned out my dryer vent (including going up on the roof of my condo unit), and also cleaned the dryer itself. He did a better job than the people that came out a few years ago, and for a very fair price. I mentioned I had a new furnace and he checked the filter, and recommended something that would be better to use to catch dust and dirt. He told me where to go to get the filter, also. I will definitely use Aaron's services again when needed, and recommend him highly.

Aaron of Aj Services is top notch! Incredibly professional and informative. Responsive, responsible, and pleasant. Returned phone calls quickly. Made an appointment in a reasonable amount of time, although he is busy. He gave us a great deal of good advice as he scoured our heating ducts and furnace better than they'd been done 2 years ago by another company. He also cleaned our dryer vent. Now it works better than it has in years! I highly recommend AJ Services.

Aaron is great. He cleaned our air ducts this fall, and it was just such a pleasure to do business with him. His rates were low, he was professional, communicative, and just a nice guy. My only complaint is that he doesn't handle all kinds of other home repairs, because I'd like to hire him for about a million other jobs!

Aaron was all that the other yelpers said he would be. He actually came by the same day we called him because he was in the area doing another job. I had had a smoking dryer the day before which caused the smoke alarm to go off so I definitely needed someone to help us clean up the dryer lint fast. Our vent is about 20 feet long and so it is difficult to keep clean. He spent an hour here and was professional, knowledgeable and thorough, having to clean out the vent from the top to the output several times. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs help with their vents. And we used the yelper 10% discount!

It is not often that you hire someone who has your best interests as the priority rather than their profit. I called because of his glowing reviews. He was great. I hate birds. I would call him again in a heartbeat. He did a very nice job, was super courteous and knowledgeable. Prices were reasonable. His quote was right on the money, no hidden charges, no add-ons. Everything you read in the other reviews is true and then some.

I live in a 40 year old condo complex in Alameda. Aaron came to clean my dryer vent, he came (and yes, he put shoe covers on) and checked out the problem area and did not hesitate to climb up the roof assessing the situation.
He explained to me in detail the problem and proceeded to cleaning the dryer vent. Our condo got painted last year and the painters painted over the vent opening/flap so there was moisture built up for over a year which partly resulted to damaged dry wall in my laundry room - which is a fire hazard. He even wrote this down on the invoice he gave me.
I highly recommend him, he is professional, knowledgeable, honest and did good work. Actually, I've already told a few of my friends about him. -

His business card says Air Vent and Dryer Duct Cleaning, Pigeon and Bird Control, and Rain Gutter Cleaning, but I only contacted him regarding the HORRIBLE pigeon problem I had. He answered, asked a few questions, and was at my house within the same hour for a free estimate. His quote was good, and he got immediately to work. Within two hours of calling, the problem I'd been dealing with for two years was gone. He was courteous, professional, and I'd hire him again in a heart beat.

As experienced by other Yelpers, I was very happy with AJ's service. He started work and completed the work on time.
I have been having pigeons and gutter problems. At first, I thought I needed spikes everywhere but AJ suggested I only need spikes on one spot and sticky-feet glue on others. Not only does it look better but the suggestion also saved me money. I felt that he had my best interest in mind the whole time.
It is not easy to find a honest contractor but I am glad that I found AJ. I will definitely call him again if I needed anything. -

Aaron is very friendly and very professional. Before I contacted Aaron, I hired another company called 911 Remediation for air duct cleaning. I thought they would be good since they got good review on google. But it was really disappointing. The first time they were almost 2 hr late and I have to reschedule. The technicians are not knowledgeable and not very friendly, and it is really expensive (compared to that, Aaron gave very reasonable quote). Then I am looking for gutter cleaning and find Aaron has really good review here. I made appointment with Aaron and it is such a nice experience!
He came on time and explain things in detail, such as pigeon control, and let me make decision. The job was well done and he even glue some part of the roof. Afterward, he even help me check my furnace filter and gave me very helpful advices. He said different from other service providers who just use negative pressure, he will use tools that can go deep inside the duct to clean. I will look for him again next time for both gutter and air duct cleaning. -

I cannot recommend Aaron enough! I have had my vents cleaned before and was very disappointed. Aaron is fantastic! He works by himself, but is extremely efficient and clean! He is honest, does not overcharge and very professional. His prices are very reasonable. I will definitely have him back again.

We bought a new home, and it had multiple swallow nests, which were damaging the wood and stucco including bird droppings everywhere. After a few estimates, we contracted Aaron after finding him on Craigslist and based on positive Yelp reviews.
When the work was completed, we were very pleased with the results. He had the best solution using fine-mesh galvanized netting compared to other contractors with lexan sheets and fabric netting. In the absence of knowledge in bird control, we had to really rely on the contractors' expertise, and if we did not find Aaron, we would have had to rely on other inferior work/solutions. We felt fortunate with Aaron.
Aaron is a young man with his own business. I was impressed with his level of professionalism and honesty. I found his maturity beyond his years, and the high quality work he produced was an example of that. Furthermore, Aaron was very courteous and punctual. He was also responsive on the phone, email and via text. For any future air duct and gutter cleaning, I will be contacting Aaron.
If you have any bird control issues, air duct and gutter cleaning needs, do yourself a favor and contact Aaron. In the spirit of the five star rating on Yelp, Aaron is indeed "as good as it gets!" -

Based on a recommendation by a neighbor, I called AJ Services for air duct cleaning. Because of window veils and treatments, the vents were difficult to get to. Yet, Aaron accommodated my requests to take time and caution to make sure there is absolutely no damage around the vents. Furthermore, while working, my parents were visiting. Aaron and Andrew were very mindful of my parents presence and tried to minimize inconvenience their work might cause to my parents. I will call AJ Services for all future gutter cleaning, duct cleaning, and dryer duct cleaning as long as Aaron is available.

We had clogged gutters and Aaron came out to clean them for us today. I think it's a one man type of company and he's the owner. He was very knowledgable and professional though he was almost 1/2 an hour late for the appt. and he didn't call, so that's why I gave him 4 stars instead of 5. Otherwise, I thought he did a wonderful job cleaning our gutters and downspouts and installing these gutter pumps and gutter guards that I had bought. He was very patient because I was a bit picky about the gutter guards and he took the time to try them out on my gutters to see if I liked them and he tried to flatten them out so that it looked better. He also told us about some maintenance issues that he saw on our roof that we might want to watch out for in the future which I thought was really nice. I agree with another reviewer that he has a great attitude about his work. He's licensed and insured which gives me piece of mind. We are happy with the services we received and there is a 10% discount on his services if you mention his Yelp listing which is great! His prices are fair and reasonable and we would definitely use his services again.

Wow, what an excellent and professional service. Wish more people were like Aaron. He did a great job taking care of my pigeon problem in Dublin. His work is top notch, estimate was fair and reasonable. Glad I called. He took care of the problem less then 24 hours after calling him. Highly recommend them.

We used AJ Services today to clean the air duct system and Aaron and his associate did a great job. They even went above and beyond their job when they arrived at my house as my elderly neighbor was in need of being carried out of his home as he needed to be taken to the hospital but his wife couldn't carry him. They immediately went to help him and got him to the car safely so he could be rushed to the hospital. They then came back to my house to start the work and explained what they needed to do, asked me if I needed them to start anywhere special since I was working from home. They were very professional and informed me of minor details throughout the cleaning and educated me on what needed to be done. They finished the job and left everything clean and ready for me to enjoy my home. I do property management (which they didn't know) so I'll be requesting future quotes from them on other jobs as I was highly impressed with their professionalism. I also recommend them.

Aaron was top notch to deal with. Our gutters needed cleaning bad but I did not have what I needed to do the job. Spoke to Aaron on the phone and he was able to get us taken care of before the next rain came. Great communication and prompt response. Very highly recommended!
