National City, CA
never had a problem with them. i actualy never went to this location but i have spoke with a agent there that seems like he hated his job but overall. the rates have been wonderful, when i call the rep is always friendly and nice. they close on the weekend which sucks but when you have an accident you call you insurance directly. i have been with them one year now and have full coverage. but again i have never been into there office here

This company sucks - as well as Mercury Insurance. I just got dumped for making another claim. I guess 3 claims in 7 yrs is one too many for them even though they screwed me over on every claim.
They doubled my deductible from $500 to $1000 after paying about $1500 on claim #1. Mold was involved and they hardly covered anything! My entire bathroom was gutted because of the idiot upstairs from me and out of about $6k in damage - my insurance paid for $1500 and then gave me the choice of increasing my premium by a substantial amount OR doubling my deductible from $500 to $1000!! I had to go with the higher deductible since I had to figure out a way to make my bathroom usable.
They paid about $1400 on claim #2 which was a joke because all of my lower cabinets had to be gutted (idiots upstairs again) and instead of replacing the 30 yr old cabinets, they paid me to repair them! What kind of moron would put money into 30 yr old cabinets? Didn't make sense. I have to spend $15k to remodel my kitchen and my insurance came through with a fraction of it! My kitchen has been destroyed since Dec 2007 while I save to remodel.
Now I have a new claim in Feb 2009 which is the responsibility of the HOA (although they are fighting it). The gutter was hanging away from the building over my patio (two stories up) and when it rained, a waterfall was coming down onto my patio and yet they claim my drains were the reason for the flood. My insurance company finally has to cough up a little cash ($8500) and I just got a letter that they are dumping me now!!!
What really gets to me is that every claim could have been collected by the subjugation dept. if they made any kind of effort. They didn't because the amount of money wasn't high enough and now I'm the one paying... What a bunch of crap. Now I have to find a company that will cover me and probably pay super high premiums. I have no choice since I'm putting all this money into my place and water has not been my friend :( -

Pretty decent with car insurance but the people that do the renters/homeowners insurance suck. To get a hold of them or make any changes is like pulling teeth. They transfer you around to a bunch of people and then by the time you get someone they tell you that they will call you back. Then, they call you back at weird hours and you have to start over and give all your info again... I will finish out this 6 months then i'm trying somewhere else because their customer service is crap.

I heard about AIS on the radio like most people in San Diego have. I went to their website to get a quote, and they got back to me right away. I went down to their Mission Valley location which was very close to my office. The girl who helped me was able to get me a good deal. Their prices were cheaper by quite a bit than any other I priced out. They broker your insurance needs out to other companies, so there is something like a $75 fee for that, but it is included in your monthly fee, so it's spread out, and you don't really notice it. Even with that fee, it was still a cheaper monthly payment than other places I tried. They had my insurance set up that same day, and we were on our way. I ended up being brokered out to Mercury Insurance, who I have also had a good experience with. I was pleased with the fact that AIS seemed to have many different relationships with insurance companies, so I felt like I was getting something that was a good fit for me.
