This is the best bar I have ever been to! if your ever in Monroe Louisiana you have to make it here. The company and Miss. Nell (Owner) will always bring you back here!!

Who would think locals hang out at the airport bar?? In Monroe, Louisiana they do! It could be because they serve the best Long Island Ice Teas anywhere around!
Listed in: Best of North Louisiana

Known to us as the Airport Lounge, this is the jewel of the Ouachita River valley. The front door is quilted pleather and you look out over the runways at MLU. From Nell's Airport Lounge one can interact with ArkLaMiss locals and interlopers alike.
Go here for huge Long Island ice teas and internet jukebox whose catalog includes rap and metal selections. It is missing 2live and Amon Amarth, but had Geto Boys and Mastodon, so I wouldn't really call it a loss.
I really, really like this place - some good memories were created here. Too bad they don't have T-shirts any more. -

I somehwat concur with Michael's reveiw, given that I am from that part of La. as well. The place is a dive for sure, not what you will find in any other airport in the US. Growing up there, we used to go all the time for the stiff drinks and because we were bored and looking at the 3 planes that land a night was a time killer.
Now we visit every Thanksgiving and Christmas immediately after we land to ease the jetlag. Its timeless and familiar, but not a crown jewel. -

The Airport Lounge is moving... out of the airport. The last day of business in the airport terminal is Saturday January 8, 2011. They will be reopening under a new name, Nell's Airport Lounge. Located at the intersection of 3rd and Bres in the Garden District. The new location is larger, has twice the capacity, a larger bar, new pool tables and a patio. Future plans include live bands, an expanded patio and food offerings.
