I've worked by Hobby for several years and always bemoaned the lack of good lunch options that weren't taquerias and taco trucks. Fortunately, leaves all of those places in the rearview mirror.
If you only come once, get the muffaleta. That is, unless you're Joey Chestnut or you bring some friends, get a portion of the muffaleta, as the whole is about a foot in diameter. This may be the best muffaleta I have ever had, and maybe even the one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. The bread is hot and slightly crunchy, the meat and the tapenade all tasty.
If you come back, you can't go wrong with any of their po-boys or pastas, especially the spaghetti and meatballs or lasagna, which are made fresh every day.
Next time you fly out of Hobby, I highly recommend getting there a little early and stopping by what is now my go-to lunch spot.

Unbelievable sandwiches. I grew up in Jersey and this right in line with A deli up there. The meatball Parm was great. Trips to the airport will never be the same. Don't pass this place by if you want an amazing hero

I had the opportunity to dine at Airport Deli before my flight, and it was the perfect send off to my trip to Italy. It truly is one of those gems you can't wait to share with others. For starters, the setting is very traditional. As soon as you enter, your hit with an intoxicating sent of fresh bread and pasta.
Another reason I come to this place is because the service is great. During my first few occasions to the deli I was greeted by the owner (A gentle individual that is well humored).
Now, to the food. In a nutshell, everything was perfect, from the appetizers to the entrees. I started with the deviled eggs, which were perfectly cook and seasoned. Then moved on to the entree, which I alternate between the homemade lasagna and the muffaletta. I can't cannot emphasize this part enough, THE FOOD IS FRESH, and not frozen. This makes all the difference when you are eating Italian food.
I come back to Airport Deli every time I have a yearning to be back in Italy. -

WOW! I found a reason to truly enjoy driving friends to the airport!
I am a fan of checking out small deli's and restaurants that thrive on what I would call "niche" routes (e.g. off the highway between major cities). As i do not live in the area, Airport Italian Deli falls in that category for me.
Airport Italian Deli has super fresh food made daily, which you can immediately tell on your first bite. We tried the muffaletta and the homemade lasagna. The muffaletta had a TON of meat and the olive dressing was amazing. I just had a bite of the lasagna (because I was so full off the sandwich), and it was definitely amazing and could rival any Italian restaurant.
The guy behind the counter was pretty cool too which definitely lent itself to great service.
I will definitely be back to try some of their other stuff (meatball sandwich and other homemade items). I am looking forward to the next time I go to Hobby Airport! -

Nice little deli. I really like the Muffuletta; it's huge. Decent prices and friendly service. If you are near Hobby airport, check it out.

First off this Bhavik P. guy is a moron for giving this place only 4 stars. It deserves a lot more.
The moment I walked in, I felt like I was back in Austin, in a mom n pop deli. I had their Pastrami, and it was just beyond this world so I had to go back and try another one!! I chose the Muffaletta and words just can't describe the flavors that were in dancing around in my mouth. Their delicious homemade brownies, were the perfect ending to the perfect meal!! I've become a regular going twice, sometimes 3 times a week.
They will also make you an amazing vege sub (even though its not on the menu) for those of you who dont eat meat as well. That's how nice and friendly the owners are. Oh, and the guy's an AC Milan fan which was the icing on the cake for me. -

I'm so glad I checked yelp and found this place. I had the original muffaletta heated up. I got the 1/3 size version and deeply regretted it after the first bite, I could have eaten MUCH more of that delicious sandwich! I guess it was just as well, since I had space for the tiramisu! Can't wait to come back to Houston, this will be my go-to when staying here. YUM!!!

Found this little hole in the wall gem through Yelp & now I eat lunch there at least once a week. The lasagna is soooo good! Havent ventured off into the sandwiches yet but maybe when I get tired of the lasagna. the staff is super friendly & if you're predictable like me, they'll know your order by your 3rd visit. Everything is extremely fresh & delicious here so dont let the less than desireable location deter you from trying them out!

The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is good and filling, and an excellent value. After reading a couple reviews, I thought I give this place a whirl. This place is your classic Mom/Pop shop it's not small as I imagined it to be. It was pretty roomy. Great, fresh food. Will definitely go back for some more.

My personal favorites are the muffalata and po boi for lunch, lasagna if your looking for something heavier at dinner time. They also make a killer Blt. I always try to stop by when im in the area, A+

Nice little mom-and-pop place off the beaten track. Food made fresh daily. Excellent muffaletti, excellent reuben sandwich, and great homemade desserts.
