Literally, one of the best hours of my life.  We booked a flight for our honeymoon, the staff was great, the place is super cute, they do a safety briefing, and then get you on the helicopter.  You're whisked up and away immediately, unlike the scary hopper flight that we took to Maui from Oahu.  It was amazing and as close to the feeling of flying that I'd like to get.

The views were breathtaking and you get so much closer to amazing waterfalls and views than you'd ever be able to get on foot or by car.   We even saw whales when we were over the ocean and the pilot was able to steer us around to hover around them.

If you go to Maui and do one thing, this is it.  And if you ever take a helicopter tour, Maui is where to do it.  Pricey, but sooo worth it!

We took the 45 min tour of west Maui and Molokai. It was amazing, a must for every visitor. Personally though, my husband or I couldn't have taken any longer than it was. He gets car sick, so I guess in this cause helicopter sick? Anyways our pilot was Dave, he was very informative.

    What to expect-
-You must pay for parking. I think we paid $4 for 1.5 hours.
    - they weight you at time of Check in.
    - you are unable to take your purse, I put mine in the trunk of the car. Your just allowed your cameras. I took my iPhone but put it on airplane mode.
    - you have a safety debriefing and you have to put on these phanny pack looking things, inflatable life vests, and they must be worn the whole trip.
-you are unable to pick your seat, preselected for you I'm assuming due to weight.
    - total of 7 people in helicopter including the pilot.
    - wear headphones but only the pilot can communicate to you but you can't communicate back through the headset.
    - some of our pictures didn't turn out to well due to the way the window bubbles out and the windows seem kinda dark.
    - once ride is over you can buy DVD and photo. The DVD and photo combo was $50 cash, cc $64.99. Just the picture was $20. They show you the picture before hand. We bought the picture but it obviously wasnt good quality. Very grainy and ours had lines running through it, maybe the ink was low?
    - at the end you are able to sign your pilots guess book and give a gratuity if you want.
    - the staff is very very friendly. They make you feel very welcome and at ease.

I would definitely recommend Air Maui to anyone

We scheduled the West Maui & Molokai trip.  Staff were all great.  The landscape was beautiful. Weather was great so we were able to see everything.  We enjoyed the amazing waterfalls and beaches from a different view point.    A little expensive and of course you will want to purchase the DVD of your ride.  My only complaint was regarding the DVD.  We were not told in advance that the DVD was $10 cheaper if you paid in cash and one of the cameras was dirty so lots of spots in our DVD.  The trip was definitely amazing. One more item off our bucket list.

We signed up for the complete island trip but were diverted to West Maui/Molokai due to weather. The views were amazing and it was a cool experience, but a bit overpriced for what it was. Motion sickness was a bit of an issue as well, so maybe pick up some Dramamine before you go.

On the plus side, we didn't die in a fiery crash like the Blue Hawaiian tour that left right after us, so thanks pilot Thomas!

Kath set us up well, and when we got on board with Dylan,  I knew this would be a great time! Excellent visuals, beautiful tunes, and interesting stories kept us all very relaxed. Just enough subtle humor thrown in by our pilot. I had only been one one helicopter ride before this one (on Kauai)' and this tour was far more entertaining and enjoyable. Highly recommend the #2 tour of West Maui and over to Molokai, then back over to Mau,i thru the canyons,  then back to the heliport. Beautiful!

We got a certificate for this tour from Costco for 27% off or something and it was worth every penny. We opted for the 45-minute West Maui tour as we heard the views were more spectacular on the west side of the island.

The views from the helicopter were indeed spectacular and as someone prone to motion-sickness, our pilot/tour guide made the entire ride comfortable and smooth. I could not believe how close we got to the waterfalls and how stunning the views were above the untouched rainforests, the crystal clear water, the massively high seacliffs and the green, lush mountains. Our pilot was super friendly, made sure everyone in the helicopter got a good view/pictures and did not bore us with the usual facts. I would highly recommend this tour!

The staff in the office are also super friendly and accommodating.

I signed up for the #4 tour with two friends to go see Haleakala, West Maui, and Molokai for over $300 per person (tax included).

Unfortunately the pilot decided conditions were poor and cut out Haleakala, which I had been really excited to see.
They offered to reschedule but couldn't promise it'd be any better later. We agreed to go, along with 3 other passengers.

The seats were very comfortable and our pilot Thomas was knowledgable and fun! He got us very close to waterfalls and cliffs.

The ride was an hour long, and 45 minutes in I got motion sickness and wished the ride had been shorter.

Two hours later we heard a competitor's helicopter (Blue Hawaii) crashed on the same route we had done, with 4 fatalities.

Thank God and thank Thomas it didn't happen to us! I dont know if I'll go on a helicopter ride ever again after such a close call.

I will never do anything this amazing for the rest of my life.  A sure bucket list event!  From Thomas the pilot to Oli the cocker spaniel, the staff were extremely hospitable.  The views the Molokai cliffs and valleys were gorgeous and helicopter  is the only way to see them.  Pricey, but worth it if you can afford it.

**TOUR GUIDE OR COMEDIAN FOR $500+**

We arrived half an hour early as suggested.

We booked the 60-65 min COMPLETE ISLAND tour for $265 EACH. The most expensive thing we've ever done on the island. Prices were better on their website.

Note the word TOUR. Not STAND-UP COMEDY HOUR.

Al, our helicopter tour guide, provided our island tour. Originally, we were supposed to have Janette, but that did not go through. Al was cool. But then the corny jokes kicked in.

Ryan and I kept shooting furtive glances at each other after every corny joke. We wanted a proper helicopter tour with historical references and details about the island, minus the jokes and the I-Guess-I-Have-To-Pretend-Laughs.

We realized that a 45 MIN tour would have been ideal instead of the 60 MIN one. I was feeling queasy after 45 MIN.

The helicopter tour was *OK*, I was not THAT impressed, especially after experiencing a helicopter tour of Kauai. We did see waterfalls, blue water, and some tree tops.

    But was it worth it?

    For us, no.

NOT RECOMMEND to those who have motion sickness, cheap bastards, and those who have already been on a helicopter tour in Kauai (no comparison, dude).

    Pretty impressive!!
a little costly if u don't go with a deal. We got almost 60% deal for attending a timeshare presentation.
Try the Haleakala and Hana trip instead of Molokai . If you go to Molokai u will spend half of ur time over the ocean, which u will anyway when u fly  to/from Maui. Having said that we got some really cool pics of whales from top. So my advice, don't go to Molokai unless it's whale season.

    Take motion sickness pill.

CD arrived in a day or 2. Pretty quick.

WOW! This was probably my favorite tourist thing I did in Maui only because how many people can say they saw a view of the islands from  atop the sky???!!! Pretty badass if you ask me!

I did the tour of North/Northeast Maui and Moloka'i. We had a 2:30pm appointment and we didn't have to wait a minute more. the people at Air Maui were on time with getting us into the helicopter, very nice and informed us on safety precautions. Our flight was about 45 minutes long and it was well worth the money. I think helicopter tours usually push away people because its so pricey but you're definitely missing out!

They personalize your tour by talking to you saying "To your right Amy, you'll see the xyz" So that gave it more of a personal touch. I got some awesome pictures of Maui, the ocean breaks and the oh so abundant green mountains along with the waterfalls that were everywhere on Moloka'i. Our pilot was SOOOO knowledgeable about everything she pointed out to us that it made the trip feel well worth it.  just wish our pilot got a little bit closer to the waterfalls, that would have been really cool.

At the end of the tour you can purchase the video that they recorded of your tour plus you get a free poster :) The location is right next to the airport so its not too hard to find, just follow your map. I would definitely ride Air Maui again because of their customer service and great tours they give :)

Our helicopter ride was awesome!  Our pilot, Jeanette gave us an amazing 45 minute tour around the island.  She made the ride so smooth.  My 2 friends that went with me- this was their first helicopter ride and they had no problems with queasiness.  Our pilot was also very personable with us by using our names to point things out.  I felt like we knew each other for years.  Jeanette was very good about pointing things out to us.  We saw waterfalls, a blow hole, labyrinth and also we flew above a double circle rainbow!  Where else would I be able to do this?

Overall, I would recommend Air Maui if you're looking for a great tour of the islands!

It took me a while to find this place but after reading reviews all over the internet, we decided to do it.  I'm soo afraid of heights but this ride wasn't bad at all.  The whole time I felt safe and comfortable especially since the helicopter was much larger than the Magnum P.I. helicopters I thought we'd be flying on.  Our pilot was "Captain Kirk" and he made the experience memorable with all his corny jokes.  His jokes were a little corny but he found a way to incorporate everyone on board.

There were three people in the back and my boyfriend and I sat in the front next to the pilot.  There was suppose to be four people behind us but the two older couples lied about their weight so one of the husbands had to get on a different flight.  It was kinda funny..The people sitting in the back didn't seem to enjoy the trip as much as we did probably because of the view.  Sitting in the front you can see everything but in the back you're kind of squished together and you barely have room to take pictures.

We were also lucky because we signed up for the cheapest tour which was called "Maui Lite".  The night before our trip they advised us that we were upgraded to the 1 hour tour since they could only get a group of 6 together for that flight.  We saved ourselves about $200 bucks and we were able to see the west side of Maui along with Molokai.   So instead of just being a half hour tour, our tour was about an hour long.   The views at Molokai were sooo pretty and we got to take pictures of the waterfalls and the beaches.

We ended up purchasing the DVD of our trip for $40 bucks since we were sitting in the front.  I understand why the people sitting behind us didn't wanna buy it since only the people sitting in the front were visible on the video.  Overall, I highly recommend "Captain Kirk" and Maui Air if you're looking for helicopter rides that are reasonably priced.

One of the highlights of our trip to Maui.  My husband and I lucked out and got to sit up front next to the pilot.  The family of three that got squished in the back didn't get so lucky, so it's partly a gamble.  While I'm sure their views were nice, they couldn't have rivaled our views from up front.  Our pilot was professional and had a nice, soothing demeanor.  We saw waterfalls, old fishing traps, the westside and eastside of the island.  Well worth the money.  Leave most stuff behind at the hotel.  You're pretty much only allowed to take your camera, wallet, and sunglasses on the helicopter with you.  The only reason it doesn't get five stars is that our trip started about 30 minutes later than we were scheduled to take off but the views were worth it.

Air Maui boasts a perfect safety record and their pilots have about 10,000 hours of flight time under their belt. Safety is #1 when you are dangling 1500 feet in the air! The aircraft they fly are A-stars and they are the industry standard for stable and reliable aircrafts. That being said, we booked the West Maui/Molokai 60 minute tour. Captain Kirk whisked us away to give us a tour of some amazing waterfalls and scenery that very few get to experience. He was friendly, very knowledgeable of the local area, entertaining and SAFE!! Thank you Air Maui and Captain Kirk, may you live long and prosper!

My husband and I toured Maui and Molokai during our honeymoon with Tom as our pilot. We choose this tour, because we were driving Hana, so we wanted to fly over something we had not seen. The scenery was beautiful, and our pilot was fun. We saw the waterfall from Jurassic Park, and the backside of Molokai, which was my favorite, because it was unusual scenery, and incredibly beautiful. It was an amazing tour, and I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. The only downside is that we asked in advance for a front seat, but did not get it. We requested the left side if we couldn't have the front, and we did get that.

I was pretty scared before I take the tour, but it's so stable and safe. The view was great. We took the 45 minutes tour of Hana and Haleakala. Got to take the pictures of the top of the Haleakala, beach, Hana Pools, waterfalls...overall experience was great. I did feel a little bit dizzy at the end, so might have to take some motion sickness pills before you get on it. Our pilot is very professional and he made the trip so smooth! No bumpy moment at all! GREAT!

We really enjoyed our tour, although I did get a little queasy and I don't have a weak stomach so Dramamine might be a good bet! We did the 30 minute tour of Maloka'i and I think that was plenty. We got a good price through Expedia($250 out the door for both of us) and the company was very reputable, safe, good service, etc.
