Review from Scott F.
Fredericksburg, VA
Aikido in Fredericksburg is an amazing martial arts school. Teaching the principals of non-violence, respect, peace and harmony; this school is great for all age levels from 6-90.
Classes are taught by the head instructor and senior students. Classes are organized, fun, energizing and most importantly full of great lessons that can be used in every day life.
If you are looking for something different from the punching, kicking and Ultimate Fighting then the peaceful art of Aikido may be up your alley. The school is easy to get to and has several classes during the week. Fees are minimal for the lessons learned and the exercise you get.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Specialties
We teach and practice Aikido as it was taught by the founder of Aikido at the Iwama Dojo in Japan, which is the birthplace of the art. We have a fantastic new dojo and a cooperative group of students. We are a non-profit and hope you will come and benefit from Aikido training with us.
History
Established in 2004
The dojo is a successor to the Fredericksburg Aikido Club. Our chief instructor has 20 years of experience teaching Aikido.
Meet the Manager: Aviv G.
Aviv Goldsmith Sensei is the Chief Instructor of the Aikido in Fredericksburg, a 501(c)3 nonprofit educational corporation. Goldsmith Sensei was introduced to Aikido training in the mid 1970s at the New York Aikikai and in 1986 became a student of Wolfgang Baumgartner in Reno, Nevada. Aviv became Chief Instructor of the Reno Aikido Co-Op dojo in 1992 when Baumgartner Sensei left Nevada to return to his native Germany. Aviv continued to teach and train in Reno until early 2002 when he was recruited to move to Spotsylvania, Virginia at the invitation of the Fredericksburg Aikido Club.
Under Goldsmith's direction, Aikido in Fredericksburg has developed a world-class rural training center on 20 acres in Spotsylvania that is a resource for the international Aikido community.
