I used to come here often with my co-workers after working a swing shift. We'd only come on weekdays, so the parking and bowling alley was pretty empty.
The prices to bowl are pretty inexpensive, and so are the prices to rent shoes. I like the fact that they are open until 2am and that they have a full bar (complete with service to your bowling lane!) and food available until late night hours.
The pizza was delicious! And the drinks were reasonably priced. Service was excellent and friendly as well.
The bowling alley appeared very up to date and modern with their computerized scoring system and it was clean, including their restrooms.
I also came here a while ago for lunch. The service at their restaurant was excellent and fast. The food was yummy as well. -

This was first time at Aiea Bowl (I know what you're thinking, 'where the hell have I been this whole time?!' That's another issue, soo...) and I met with a homegirl here for lunch on a weekday. The restaurant is up front as soon as you enter. It's a little cramped, but they've got the tables set-up where there's enough room to move around. There's booths surrounding the tables. And the bowling alleys are located right behind the restaurant area. It's a tad noisy, that's because of the bowling & the restaurant does get packed. As for the food, it's how I rated it "A-OK". I ordered the portobello mushroom burger. The burger was pretty big and tasty, but nothing outstanding. I can say that I've had better, or I've made better for that matter. It came with this super skinny fries which reminded me of those country potato sticks (can't remember the name!). Not a fan of those. 'Cause to me they felt like a bed for the burger, like how a bed of shredded cabbage would be for teriyaki beef?
Anyway, I may come back just to try out other items on their menu just not anytime soon. Honestly, I came outta that place like I wasn't really missing anything this whole time -

Man this place is always busy but its okay. They have cool things like college nights and ladies night where its free for college students and ladies to bowl for free. The only thing that sucks is that it is usually a two hour wait. I really dont like going here because its always theres tons of local people here. And its usually super crowded.
If you want to go bowling then go during a time when its not busy. Then its not bad. -

What can I say that's not already been said? I love Aiea bowl! I take my three year-old at least once a month for bowling fun and whenever I'm in the Aiea/Pearl City area. I also make it point to stop here for a few delectable desserts I can't seem to take my mind off of. It's a fatal attraction kinda thing, seriously!!
The Pumpkin crunch cake- is out of this world!!! I often purchase several slices when I visit just for myself to last me a couple days...trust me, your taste buds will be in extacy after the first bite!
Okay, right, bowling. We've got bowling here too. I find the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. They are quick to offer different bowling features for the little ones. Additionally, I find the alley and restaurant To be clean; I can't quite say the same thing for other bowling establishments across the isle.
All in all, always a great time here and great food, desserts, etc.
I'm a fan:) -
Review from Kelly J.
Oh my dear! The oxtail soup was YUMMY. I do have to warn you that the broth is EXTREMELY rich. The menu advertises that the broth is simmered for 2 days. The soup is served with rice (white OR brown), a ponzu dipping sauce, ginger and cilantro. You can have ramen for an additional cost.
Now I don't normally use ginger with my soups (Yes, self proclaimed mainlander transport here) but I found the broth to be so rich that the ginger and or the ponzu sauce was actually a nice way to cut through the soup. The oxtails were FATTUH. My co workers were working hard to not eat the fat, but I picked my bones clean of everything. YUM.
$14 is a tad pricey for lunch, but I can only imagine that the average person can only consume the soup once in awhile. I can still feel the satisfaction of the soup coating my tummy a couple days later!
The mixed plate looked pretty good. The burger we ordered to go seemed alright. Fries were good. And as of my last review, I have confirmed that the food I had at my company party was catered by the restaurant, so the furikake ahi was delicious. Too bad I was so full or else I would have tried their baked goods. I've tried their pumpkin crunch before. The desserts are quite pricey! Eat at your own risk of addiction.
They have the bar and serve beer. Alright selection for a local place. Will be back when I have the room to consume their yummy rich oxtail soup again!Listed in: Lunchtime! In & Around West…

Gosh this chic is not one to throw out 5 stars but I hemmed and hawed and could not figure out a reason to dock them any stars. This place is pretty out of sight! If you are going to bowl (and who doesn't love to bowl??) this is THE premier spot to get your ball on.
This alley is clean and well lit. Everything is maintained quite nicely, including the bathrooms. Equipment (balls, shoes, etc.) is well maintained and you aren't crawling out of your skin when you have to put a pair of communal shoes on your pretty little peds. They are clean and free of funk (always a plus). I love cosmic bowling! It is kind of like a nice fusion of your 80's childhood (complete with fluorescent accents) and a modern day club. Who doesn't love to ball with bootie music bumping? I know I eat that shizznit up. Seriously though it is always a good time.
What really throws this hip bowling center over the top? THE ALLEY of course!! No no no, not the well maintained lanes (and that they are) it is their insane in the membrane eatery!!!! OMG we come here just for the food (see my restaurant review). A bowling alley with gourmet eats...does it get better than that? Um no it does not. This place is the bomb! -

I walked in thinking that I would be bowling. Wrong. There was what seemed like a new employee behind the counter, she was very nice. She kept checking with what I am guessing is her supervisor. She continued to ask what was available, how long the wait would be.
Together they were not able to provide any useful information to me. All I received was nothing is available, and there is no telling how long I would have to wait. I felt like the supervisor did not care at all if I did business here or not.
I went back the next week because I wasn't able to find an available lane ANYWHERE else. I was actually able to bowl. It was a miracle. -

5 star for Aiea Bowl! I'd probably say I won't bowl any place else but AIEA BOWL! the place is perfect for parties, reunions, specially work team building.
Ambiance: well of course it has bowling lanes and bowling balls but in addition the lil cafe restaurant made a huge difference that added some class to the place. Also the place is clean and organize, the bathroom is seriously a winner! to be honest I have a thing a bout bathrooms, LOL! bathrooms gotta be nice! and AIEA BOWL bathroom is nice bathroom, it has that island style, i was actually surprised that it has a tree inside and real plants on the sink area. Very tidy and Very trendy place.
outfit is casual of couse and don't forget your socks ^__^
Price:$$ moderate.
Staff: very friendly and helpful.
Overall recommend to all human race! and Aliens hehe! love love love this place! guarantee will cheer up anyone! -

Had the fish and a combo kalbi and chicken. The fish was decent, not fishy at all. Could of used a little more sauce, maybe on the side. The Kalbi was mediocre. Would probably not order it again. The portion for it was tiny also. The chicken was probably the best, after all it's what they're famous for. Moist, but a little heavy on the batter. Service was a bit slow and sketchy as it is a bowling alley after all.

Came here one night with a bunch of my friends where ladies got in for free; I think it was a thursday? The inside was dark with neon lights glowing from the alley, it was pretty nice. They were trying to go for that "cluby" feel with ladies going around taking orders for drinks and the music blasting and people dancing. It was really fun and quite full with different parties at their lanes. You can tell that they are trying to attract the younger crowd since not most bowling alleys are like this haha. Overall, a good place to have fun with friends.Listed in: Yelp 365 Challenge

Place is great but parking really sucks. Came here for a friends 30th birthday party on Saturday night. It was packed! Wanted food, had to do takeout since the dining area was full. Food took long and it wasn't worth the wait. We ordered kalbi and fried noodles. The kabli was regular like any other restaurant. The fried noodles were tasty and properly portioned for the amount I paid. The line to the bar was always long. Great drink prices! $3 bud light platinum and they ran out! All in all it was a good night.

Put on your pretty panties and socks cuz they'll glow at cosmic bowling!!!! I love Aiea bowl because It's super cheap and they always have deals and specials on certain nights....there's free college night, free ladies night, etc. Just make sure you call ahead to see that there isn't league bowling going on.
Lines can get long and the wait gets pretty ridiculous for a lane on busy nights....no worries though, The Alley restaurant is DEEEE-LICIOUS! So put your name down for a lane, sit down and eat your face....then go throw some balls and work it off :) -

I love Aiea Bowl!
A diner with drinks and dessert, small arcade area, vending machines, and extremely cool lanes help make the Aiea Bowl experience a delightful one. It is great to see Aiea Bowl reinvent itself throughout the years, I feel that it is growing with me as I am getting older. However, I do hope the bathrooms at Aiea Bowl will change with the times as well.
The place is kid-friendly, but can easily be turned into a 21+ venue with a change in lighting, music, and other simple things. -

Apparently one of the best places to get oxtail soup in Oahu is at a bowling alley. Who knew?
You can seriously get your grub on at this place..generous portions and reasonable prices. They don't mess around when it comes to the menu - much more diverse offerings than I've seen at some other standalone restaurants (furikake ahi, loco moco, alley fried noodles, Nathan's hotdog(?) and of course the oxtail soup). Don't forget to try the lemon crunch cake or Mama Miya's if you're feeling chocolately inclined.
Also conveniently located, should you aspire to bowl a game afterward. -

Ordered take out today, didn't know there was a take out window. Oops! Went inside first, then was told about the window.
Had the mix plate boneless kalbi w/ furikake ahi, toss salad and white rice. Winnahs! My gf had the boneless kalbi w/ tasty chicken, mac salad and white rice. Also very good. They do have four benches outside if you can't wait and have to eat it right there. So that's what we did! Ha!
Always good! Highly recommend! You gotta try their desserts too! -

People have said "the food is good here for bowling food." I think they can just stop at "the food is good." They seriously had the best spicy shrimp bowl that i have ever had. I tried the pizza as well and it was really good. There was some beef with onion dish that was delicious. The prices were also affordable.
Bowling itself was super fun and I can't wait to go back to this place. -

Inter-Business Counsel hosted their semesterly Welcome Back Bash at Aiea Bowl. Rented out the whole place. Cherry!
The Good:
* Overall it's clean.
* Diner in the Bowling Alley!
* Bartenders are friendly :)
* There are light balls (10pounds) but you have to fight for it!
* Their system is easy to use :)
The Bad:
* Bathroom is pretty dirts
* The shoes aren't all that clean looking, but what do you expect right?
The Weird:
* The guy manning the door and giving the actual bracelet was a fkin d!ck!!!!!!!!!!!! He yelled at me like four times last night, and all I wanted to do was to go outside to give the people their tickets so they can get in. Fricken chill yo. -
Review from Ryan M.
Lot's of people come here to eat, not bowl because they have some good food. Today i was one of those people. Got the ox tail soup, tasty chicken, garlic fries, and a lemon crunch cake.
Ox tail soup - has a bolder taste than your traditional ox tail soup. The broth is dark and has a strong flavor of 5 spice and star anise, there are red dates or (jujubes). A heavy Chinese hand was made in making this broth you might not care for it if you don't like that chinese parsley taste. They give you ponzu sauce to dip the ox tails in, i didn't really care for that combination so i just stuck to eating it with the shoyu and ginger. Over all good, just different.
Tasty chicken was tasty, its kinda similar to garlic chicken but not as garlicky. Deep fried crispy and then dipped in sauce. I found myself eating the crispiest part (the skin). Its really crispy but they still manage to keep the chicken tender inside.
Garlic fries - Really garlicky, thinner cut fries and really crispy too. Disclaimer, REALLY GARLICKY, you're gonna have dragon breath, garlicky. Hope you like garlic!
Lemon crunch cake was really good! The cake was similar to Japanese castella cake, subtly sweet, dense, and moist. The layers of lemon between are also not too sweet, not too tart and with the crunchies on top?! Wow a great creation.
they also have a hollowed out wheel of parmigiano reggiano which they toss your pasta in table side when you order it. Pretty neat presentation, the smell wafts thru the restaurant if you're near that thing.
(kinda stinky in my opinion)
I could see how this would be a great place to hang out and bowl, its a great change from your normal bowling ally fare, of nachos, hot dog, hamburger, ect. -
Review from Tracy S.
Memory definitely did not serve me right about Aiea Bowl last Friday night. It's been literally years since I've bowled these lanes. Their revamped decor wonderfully replaced the memory of their used-to-be rundown look of a time prior.
Objective: Cosmic bowling for 15 people on a Friday night.
Impossible? I think not. Preparation is key.
Approach: 1. Call at least a week in advance to reserve 3 lanes.
This ensures that your reservation will be called
first (~9:30pm after the leagues are done).
2. Pay $25 per lane as a deposit to hold the
reservation.
3. Have the majority of the group arrive at 9:30pm.
Execution: Our reservation was called at 9:40pm and we
picked up our bowling shoes for ~$3 a pair.
We played for 3 hours at $25 per hour per lane.
I never scored past a 120, but Ryan S. shot
past all of us with a high of ~270. DAYUM!
Our 3-hour mark arrived and our game
automatically shut down. Time flies when
you're having fun.
Footnotes: We ordered garlic fries, spicy chicken (~$10),
tasty chicken (~$10), and lots of alcohol. We
put in our food order, paid, and waited until
our names were announced overhead (even
a drunk me couldn't have missed the
announcement) to pick up our food. The bar
is pretty strict. If you want to buy a friend more
drinks, they need to be present with you,
otherwise you can only pick up one drink in a
reasonable time.
We ate our food and drank our beer with our left hand and bowled with our right (vice versa for the lefties). What a fun night and venue. -
Review from Arynn I.
Wow so it's been a while since I've been here!
When the hell did bowling become so expensive!!! I do not remember paying "by the hour" for bowling...but who knows?
Anyhoo, I give the 4 stars because of the food....I mean, bowling is fun...but it costs too much. Whatever happened to one price for "all-you-can-bowl"cosmic bowling? Ugh, maybe that's a mainland thing.
But anyways, I originally came out "just for the food" because my friends said this place was good...not to mention there was a bunch of people from work that came out too. Well, I love me some edamame and sadly I've been craving it everyday since I've been back in Hawaii. So like my mission to eat every type of shave ice there is, I decided to try every restaurant's edamame.
The alley edamame is slightly spicy and saucy. I can't really describe the flavors that were in my mouth but I was soooo enjoying it I ate almost the whole bowl on my own. A definite value for price! If you want to share, there's plenty for everyone. Unfortunately for my friends, when it comes to edamame I can be a little selfish but I also didn't really eat anything else here.
Ok. Hang on. now I got this craving for edamame so I'm going to cook some...
***15 minutes later****
Finishing my review with my edamame..yum...boiled it with special spices and then added garlic, worchestershire sauce, shoyu, a little bit of liquid smoke and more spices...delish...Sorry. back to the review.
If you are planning on cosmic bowling and you want a lane, please make sure you make the deposit and reservation ahead of time..then you don't sit around drinking beer until they call your name for a lane. With a group of friend (or in my case, co-workers) this place is a bunch of fun...Whether you are here to drink and eat or bowl and drink and eat, I can guarantee it's a good time...Also during our cosmic experience, there was a dj spinning out some fun musice to dance to while you eat and drink and bowl.
I cannot wait until our next visit!

Bowling, meh. Food...o yeah. My second experience at the Alley and I have yet to be disappointed.
I go for the pizza and drag friends along too. It has to be some of the best pizza in the area. Tasty sauce. Nice crust that's not too chewy or too hard with an excellent savory flavor. Fresh toppings. Mmmm. If you're a foodie bowler you just might be in nirvana.

Ladies bowl free on Thursdays!!!
I believe it's from 10pm-2am. Make sure you go early and I mean super early like 5pm to put your name down. I think this is a great idea!...well great for women. LOL! Ladies bowl for free, they turn off the lights, play some music and sometimes they even have a dj from a radio station there. He plays games and gives out prizes.
Another good thing is the food. I love eating the tasty chicken and the garlic fries. Yummy! And if you're into drinking...they have waitresses walking around...normally in some skimpy outfit "wink wink" taking orders.
The reason for 4 stars...If you don't put your name down early...you probably won't get a lane or you'll get one but super duper late. -

I came here with a big group of family (about 20 people), so we took 3 lanes. God bless the staff for being patient with my family, getting our shoe sizes was a head ache lol.
Open bowling beings at 9PM, but I suggest coming in early to reserve lanes, we came at 8PM and we had no problem waiting for a lane.
The staff was very friendly and patient, definitely coming back. -

To do list:
-if you are going on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, or Saturday make sure you make reservations hours in advance. (Bowling starts at 9:00pm if you try to walk in at 9:00 and bowl you might not even get a lane)
-bring socks, you don't want to buy them
-make sure someone has an ID so they will let you have your lane.
-I would say bring quarters for Street fighter but the machine has been broken for a month -

This should be a 4 star review. Really nice alley and we had a blast. Why the 2 star? The lady at the counter was not very friendly and actually rude. - one star. Also they were very very slow and wasted 20 min of my day. Although there lanes open they took forever. I have no idea why. wasting my time one more star.
Food is great. Really wish there service was better. -

I have eaten at Aiea Bowl before and enjoyed every dish but I have to say I was disappointed this last time by the serving size of the fried noodles and the crunchy fries. Although the restaurant was clean, the cakes in the glass display were huge and looked delicious, and the service good, when our food arrived to the table I thought the fried noodles was a totally different dish. It was served in a small saimin bowl and only 3/4 full, unlike the photo in the menu on a flat plate piled high. I really thought it was the condiments for the oxtail soup we ordered. The crunchy fries looked very different from the menu as well, shoe string instead of regular fries, but my mom liked them anyway.
Make no mistake, the food is very tasty at Aiea Bowl but I feel some dishes were misrepresented. Also, to me the dishes are on the pricey side. I don't mind paying a little more if the servings are big as advertised in the menu, but to pay almost $8 for a small bowl of fried noodles, that's no deal. -

Went to Aiea Bowl for breakfast this morning and was again bumped into fiends which as really nice. The menu is long and full, traditional and local favorites.
Wife had the Bacon, Eggs, Rice and Toast which she said was plentiful, I had the Oxtail and Ginger for breakfast das da bomb. What was evenmore than nice, we walked up the cashier and he said our friends paid for the tab.
So our breakfast budget was Chocolate Insanity Cake, sure the Lemon Crunch is their specialty, as is every other cakes and desserts they have but...The chocolate cake was moist ono and mediumly dense, the frosting was perfectly delectable, but I was wondering what was those chucky bumps on the top hidding under the frosting, One bite had let me know it was 3/4" chucks of chocolate brownies hidding under their. Dang.........Now that was one ono chocolate cake, BEST I have had.
oh yeah......Tanks eh Carrick, Kenny and Duane! -

Hawaii doesn't have a ton of options for bowling alleys, so Aiea Bowl has been a frequent hangout since I was a kid. However, as I got older, I came to realize that the real reason you come here isn't to go bowling - it's for the food.
As far as the bowling goes, it's an average bowling experience all around from the prices to the plain decor. The food however is much better than you would expect at a bowling alley. It's a little on the expensive side for plate lunch style food, but still worth it. My favorite is of course the loco moco and the mix plate. Mix plate is great for when I'm feeling indecisive as I can get a little of two different items. Try the tasty chicken, it really is tasty! -

Held my son's 8th birthday party there this past Saturday. It was my first time there so wasn't quite sure what to expect. Overall, good experience and would definitely go back.
Pros:
- Great communication from the event coordination team. I called and worked with Josie who was very knowledgeable and prompt.
- The gal who helped us on the day was very attentive.
- They made a cute birthday sign for my son at our reserved tables.
- They put our party at the end so we weren't in the middle of the crowd.
- They allowed us to bring in our own cake (we had to also provide our own plates).
Cons:
- Our party location was right by the vending machines and bathrooms so other bowlers were walking in and out of our area.
- Parking is limited.
- Party package is kind of expensive.
Tips:
- Check out their website first to review their party packages.
- If you're looking for light bowling balls, ask the front desk. They keep the 6 lbs ones there.
- The bumpers are only for children under the age of 8.
- Saturdays mid-day are super crowded.
I would definitely go back and would like to try the Alley restaurant. We only had pepperoni pizza with our party package so didn't get a chance to eat anything else. -

I came here on a Friday night after the very successful Yelp event here the same week! Cosmic bowling for two was about 45$, which included shoes, and an lb of edamame (kinda soggy)was 6$. Diet coke was $3, wtf? There was an actual DJ spinning with all the UV lights on for 'cosmic' bowling, and everyone there had a great vibe and was super friendly. Ages ranged from family children to a senior church group, with a surprising number of 20-40 year olds out as well!
Facilities are in good shape, WAY better than the last bowling alley I've been to about 4 or 5 years ago where the facilities looked straight out of the 70's. Plenty of TVs and video animated scorekeeping to keep even the kids entertained.
They have a full bar there but this is a great option for a no-alcohol-required night out!
The main restaurant closes at 9:30 or 10 but the bowling goes on until 2, so if you are here for their world famous food make sure you don't get here at 10:05 like me and counting on the furikake salad for your dinner. They do serve a late-night snacks menu with things like fries, edamame, kalbi, etc. -

Good place to bowl, with amazing food selection, and a full bar. During the day time its more for club bowling, but night time there are different themes and the alley turns into a socializing place to go with friends and have a good time. Fridays and Saturdays are always crowded if you dont go early it would be very hard to get lanes. You can reserve lanes 2 days in advance to make sure you are guaranteed lanes.

Went there to experience my 1st Tasty Tuesday and was very pleased w/ the outcome. The five course set meal was as delicious as I thought it would be (from dining there before) and the presentation was awesome. I especially loved the heart of Romaine Caesar w/ it's interesting presentation, and the braised short ribs, as the meat was "fall of the bone" tender and very tasty. But what really surprised me, especially after viewing pictures of previous Tasty Tuesdays and thinking the portions were a little on the small side, is that after the delicious dinner and just 2 beers, I was pleasantly stuffed. Oh and btw the service was quick and friendly as always. Can't wait to try next month's Tasty Tuesday :)

Finally came here with a group of 6 on a Thursday afternoon for lunch and an afternoon bowl! We arrived at 12:30p and there were 2 tables of 4 available, so we split one of the tables and turned the 2 tables of 4 into a table of 6 and a table of 2. The waitress suggested the Tasty Chicken, Oxtail Soup, Mix plate...so we got a couple of mix plates with hapa rice, a portabello mushroom sandwich with fries, furikake tuna sandwich with fries, furikake salmon bowl with brown rice. The food was actually really good, although may be a little pricier for a lunch. We also tried their pumpkin crunch and lemon cake slices for dessert!
Great lunch was followed by 2 games of bowling. We got lanes 1 and 2, farther away from the middle so that we could be a little louder! It was great that everything was computerized! They have 6, 7, and 8 pound balls at the cash register, so ask for your weight when you get your shoes.
A fun afternoon!!! I bet it's really fun at night for cosmic bowling!!! :) -

Hella expensive, hella busy, but dammit... the pumpkin crunch pie is SO GOOD!
Also tried the oxtail soup, it was decent. Lots of meat but lacking a bit in the flavor department. Garlic fries are winnah, though.
Giving these guys 4 stars mainly because of the faaabulous pumpkin crunch pie. Makes having to hunt for parking worth it.
