Let me preface this review by saying that Aiden Douglass is my uncle. All favoratism aside, I like a good massage and know what a good one is. Suffice it to say that I am a massage whore. I have had the pleasure of receiving several great massages from Aiden. If his work wasn't quality, I would not have continued to return over and over. I am a nurse and am hard on my body all day. All of that work and giving back to others takes its toll on you both physically and mentally.

The solution to that toll is a great massage like what I received from Aiden. He is very intuitive with what areas need work and exactly how much pressure to use. He takes his time and makes sure that the experience is exactly what you want to be as the client. If I still lived in the city, I would have continued to see Aiden on a profesional basis for massage, even though I am his nephew. If you are in the city and have the hankering for a great massage, definitely give Aiden a try.

Aiden is truly a master at what he does. I've been to see him a couple times (and the most recent was due to serious upper back pain/tension) and he has an amazing ability to hone in and work out the troubled areas unlike anyone I've ever been to. He even discovers areas that don't even feel problematic, that is until you feel him working out yet another knot. I've had many massages over the years and Aiden is in all likelihood the best therapist I've encountered. And he's super sweet as well.

I had overextended my left arm when helping a friend move, so I figured I would get a massage to work it out.  I needed to find someone who was available on my day off and wouldn't you know it, Aiden was.  When I read his bio, I wondered what trigger point therapy was and kind of hoped he didn't use it all too much (it sounded like it hurts).  So I made the appointment and hoped for the best.

What I received was the best therapeutic bodywork I've ever gotten.  He definitely knows how to use trigger point therapy properly and you can definitely tell that he's been doing this for a while.  He asked questions during the session to make sure I was okay.  The breathing techniques definitely helped work through the initial pain.

At the end of the session, I had regained range of motion and my left arm felt a whole lot better.  He also gave me some pointers on how I can correct certain things on my own.

I definitely recommend Aiden if you're in need of some therapeutic bodywork and don't mind hurting a little.

Aiden was a rare find for me, in my time of need: I was having blood circulation issues while in recovery from surgery when I found Aiden, who happened to be in my neighborhood, Bernal Heights.

Not only did Aiden skillfully treat my physical need for massage, but his massage practice is run so professionally in a relaxing -- and affordable -- atmosphere.

And since I make it my personal goal to find and support good independent businesses, I am pleased to have found Aiden Douglass, CMT!

Seriously, (especially if you live in Bernal) book a massage, today at http://www.aidenmassag...

I went to Aiden with a shoulder and neck problem from my baby sling (What a way to uphold a stereotype, right?) Anyhow, not only did he make room for me to come in right away, he really worked out the issue. Then he gave me a tennis ball and showed me how to continue to work out my shoulder throughout the day. Maybe this is not news to anyone out there, but it seriously rocked my world!

    Going back!

I rarely afford myself a massage.  Although I realize the benefits, it always seems like such a luxury.  Unfortunately for me, I suffer from headaches and a bad neck.  I usually go to the chiropractor for a quick fix, but often leave wanting more.

I decided to go the massage route this past week when both my neck and my head were in pain for a good week.  Aiden asked me to show up 10 minutes early for an intake (when was the last time you had an intake by a massage therapist?!). We sat down and discussed in detail what my goals were, how I was feeling, and a variety of other things.  After this, I couldn't wait to actually get the massage.

His room is really beautiful and instantly calming.

Here's the thing, I know what a good massage is.  I've had some of the best massages, despite my rarely getting them these days. They all have a routine, and I usually feel great afterward.

Aiden, yeah he has a routine, but he actually tailored a massage based on our intake.  He was obviously thinking about everything he was doing, but in a very intuitive way.  I could just tell he cared about each muscle and tendon my my back and neck.  He even walked me through some of it so I knew WHY he was doing what he was.  I had never had a massage like this.  It was therapeutic and totally relaxing.

I was really surprised that he's not a big shot massage therapist after we were done. I felt better than I had in days, and I can't wait till my next massage.  This is definitely a great option for not just relaxation, but actual physical therapy.

Bonus:  Aiden is one of the sweetest people I've met.

Awesome! My wife and I highly recommend Aiden for all things massage.

His ability to heal and relax the body with massage is amazing. I had tight muscle knots all over my back and legs. Aiden got them all out. My wife's neck was in major pain from months of breastfeeding. Aiden fixed everything.

If you need a top top quality body work, Aiden's your man.

I am a massage therapist myself. I have been looking for a local bodyworker who could do what I needed for me. i am an athlete and need a certain type of touch that is therapeutic but also calming so that I am able to relax my muscles to receive the work. I went to see Aiden yesterday with a number of issues. I am recovering from a torn tendon in my hip which has caused a lot of other deferred issues in my neck and back and legs. I won't say I feel a lot better today because I am sore from the work. But exactly the right kind of sore, the kind where I know I am healing and breaking up scar tissue.

    I will definitely be back!

first off, Aiden is a super super super nice guy. he was so nice that he offered chair massages at my community organization' s Fiesta event (Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center) and donated a big percentage of the proceeds back to us (i told you, he's nice). and the feedback that i got from people who were lucky enough to get the 15 minute massages is that he rocked it. so as a reward for the last few months of hard work (elections, lots of things happening in the neighborhood, etc. ), I booked myself an hour and a half with Mr. Douglass.

wheeeeee!!! not only was he able to identify all the tightly wound back muscles of mine, but he worked enough of it that the hip pain I had been suffering from (you go try going up and down stairs in the steep slopes of Bernal Heights doing precinct work and find out for yourself!) was effectively reduced.

needless to say, I booked myself another couple of sessions (at least) with Aiden to continue with my self care regimen. Thanks Aiden! see you soon! Oh, he works out of his home - a nice quaint cozy place. The massage room is private and separate and wasn't at all distracting.

I am also a bodyworker and was looking to receive a healing massage since it was a very long time since I got  a massage. Aiden knew intuitively just where to go, spend time and released certain muscles that had a grip on me. I could feel his energy work making it's course through my energy channels that were in need of movement. Aiden is truly talented and has the "gift." I highly recommend him, will definitely return and you can't beat his prices. He's a gentle but knowing soul. Glad to have found him.

I found Aiden when I was looking for regular massage therapy while training for a long distance triathlon.  Aiden worked with me session to session to identify what muscles needed the most work.  He has a broad range of techniques to draw on and the massage therapy he provided was key in keeping me healthy as the training volume got heavier leading up to the event.  He worked with me, asked questions and gave good tips for keeping muscles stretched and supple between sessions.  Highly recommend.

A very thoughtful and generous person. Not at all creepy, either. I admit, perhaps as an uptight east-coaster, that going to someone's home to get massaged can make me a bit nervous. Although it's a real homey home (elegant but personal), I felt very comfortable.

I appreciated that he really took me seriously and was interested in what I had going on (migraines and crooked shoulders from carrying books) and worked specifically on that, but also introduced other kinds of attention to areas I wasn't thinking of but that did need the work.

I also like that he was flexible & sensitive about intensity of pressure - I like a firm touch, but I know it's not for everyone and he seemed like he could accommodate different people well. He is chattier than some, but I found it soothing.

Also, he seems genuinely motivated to heal - taking time as necessary and offering wonderful neighborhood specials that saved this stressed-out kitty some stress, alongside the massage!

I had a really thorough and great massage from Aiden.  He definitely has the intuitive touch, as well as many techniques to offer.  I have a lot of injuries and am a bit picky about massages, but the massage I got worked out some difficult kinks and helped a lot more than some other massages I received.  I highly suggest his services!
