AIA Bookstore has won over my heart! This is one of the best places in the city to find design books - all kinds of design:  interior, garden, graphic, architecture and landscape architecture. They also have a great selection of funky/unique items, stationary, cards, kids toys and books and jewerly that make PERFECT gifts for those hard to shop for friends! An added plus - after Thanksgiving, the basement is filled with FABULOUS ornaments and other holiday season decor - its great to get you in the holiday spirit! Shop on fellow designers and let those books inspire your creativity!!

This is one of my favorite shops in the entire city. AIA is the type of store to go to if you need to find a gift for someone and want something a bit more unique and design themed. You can find books on all different topics (product and interior design, architecture, art, culture, etc.) along with some sleek looking gadgets and toys. Most of the toys and gadgets are a bit expensive, but you probably won't find these things in many other stores around town.

The store also sells stationery, some personal organization goods, and greeting cards. The card selection (birthday, wedding, etc.) is a bit quirky and more original than the usual cheese dished by Hallmark, so be sure to peruse the cards when you are there.

During the Holiday season, the lower level is opened to sell Christmas and other holiday goodies. DEFINITELY check out the lower floor if you happen to visit during the holiday season, as you will see some really great Christmas decor.

I used to like this place, and now i don't. snooty, hipster sales-people can really turn a girl off. I used to enjoy coming here and buying $7 birthday cards, but after a recent experience I've decided that the rude and arrogant staff is not worth the trouble. I'll never spend my money here again.

My cousin is an interior design major and we happened to duck in this store for her to find a book for some class.

This store is sooooooooo awesome!  I only kept to the back of the 1st floor with TONS of architectural style books.  My cousin and I were in there for hours.  I find myself drooling over different types of rooms and decors I'd KILL to have.

This store is NOT cheap, but quality surpasses that!

I loves me some AIA. There are a few stores which keep me in the stiy, (or CITY, if you can type) This is one of them. The store is [pause] so cool. They have tons of books on design, architecture, arts and culture. Seasonally the downstairs is used as a holiday gift shop, selling x-mas cards for like 8 bucks a pop. And the front of the store packs all the kitchy useless design crap no one needs but loves to have! It's a great place to find a gift for someone you don't really care about or know well, like an estranged father or your podiatrist. So sweet!

The AIA (American Institute of Architects) Bookstore is everyone's favorites and always win some Best Of award.

This two-story shop is packed with funky gadgets, cool journals, modern kid toys, design coasters and even some home decor..

If you wander into the book part of the store, you'll probably pick up something like "50 of the coolest hotels" and stay for hours.

If you need a gift, pop in here and buy ergonomic salt & pepper shakers or one of the various other cool gifts.

Great bookstore focusing on design.  Also a wonderful place to buy gifts!  They have jewelry and home decor items as well as silly little tchotckes that will make your friends smile.   In every gift item, there is a focus on clever design.  I could spend hours browsing the small shop.  They also have some terrific stationery and cards.

I've passed this bookstore a lot, always confused by the fact that it doesn't seem to have a ton of books (@ least from the display).  It does have some travel books but I didn't get a chance to see what other genres they had.  This place has all the things you never knew you wanted, and fabulous gift ideas.   Definitely a store to visit, especially for the Christmas season!
