Ahn has shaped and waxed my eyebrows only twice but I am hooked. During my first visit she explained everything she was doing with my crazy brows and gave me some great pointers.

I have short fine eyelashes. Eyelashes that you would have to squint to find that they exist. And I am obsessed with long pretty eyelashes. So I bought one of those "Groupon Now" from Ahn Beauty and got my eyelashes done by Liz, who works at Ahn.
Despite getting eyelash extensions at a discounted price from Groupon, Liz did an amazing and natural job with my eyelash extensions. She had me lay down in her reclined chair, while she wore supermagnified glasses and she worked her magic. She was soothing, gentle and relaxing. Most of the time, I didn't even feel her put the eyelashes on me. When I was done in about an hour, I had beautiful, natural looking eyelash extensions on me.
Within a week, my eyelash extensions started falling off of my eyelashes. I texted Liz and she put me in within a day to see her. We realized that since my eyelashes are thin and fine, they couldn't support the extensions. So Liz helped reapply new lashes, and adjusted the way the glue adhered to my lashes, and redid everything, with no extra charge. I was willing to pay her, but she refused and insisted that my lashes were supposed to last longer and it wouldn't be right to make me pay for it. She even ordered thinner (and lighter) eyelash extensions so she will have it in hand next time I come in. That is amazing and generous. What great service.
Liz also recommended a serum to help my lashes grow longer and thicker, which I have been using and it's been working. I think I'm going to give my eyelashes a break from extensions but the next time I come in for extensions, I will for sure go back to her. I highly recommend Liz to anyone who wants a great eyelash extension experience. -

I got a facial from Janina here for the first time after hearing about it on bloomspot and getting a coupon. Janina is really great! She even gave me a sample of the clay mask, and I'm excited to try it out at home later! My skin felt really great after the facial, and Janina was great to talk to.
I also really liked that she told me about the products she was using, but she didn't push me to buy anything afterwards (always makes me feel uncomfortable at other salons, because I'll buy if I want to). I'm definitely going to come here again! -

I've been a loyal customer of Ahn's for many years and in my opinion, she is hands down the BEST esthetician and make-up artist! She is an expert in eyebrow shaping and will give you the best shape for your face. Technically, anyone can wax your eyebrows...but what she provides is her artistic talent in grooming your eyebrows to properly frame your face.
She is also an expert in Brazilian waxing. In general, the procedure can be uncomfortable - especially when you don't get them done regularly but Ahn is very reassuring and she talks you through the process. She is very quick and thorough. The procedure is relatively painless (well, depending on your pain tolerance of course). I've been to other places which have hurt a heck of a lot more.
Her facials are amazing and I love her products. Since she started taking care of my skin, I've seen a vast improvement in my skin tone and I have little to no more breakouts! Ahn has vast knowledge in skin care and helps put together a beauty plan to help me maintain younger looking skin.
And last but not least, Ahn is an extremely talented make-up artist. She enhances your natural beauty without making you look "fake" or "not yourself". She also provides make-up tutorials if you're like me and have no talent when it comes to putting on make-up! : ) She taught me the very basics in putting on make-up for the workday.
Overall, anytime I see Ahn for the variety of services she provides, I always have a wonderful experience. The office is a wonderful oasis and it's beautifully decorated. The waiting area is very comfortable and she always has current magazines to read to entertain you while you wait (which isn't even that long). There is fresh water and teas should you want any refreshments. Some mention the business is in an office building...true but I don't necessarily believe that's a bad thing. It's a nice little escape from the busy world and the surrounding area is very quiet. There is a lot of free parking in front of the building so that's another plus. What are you waiting for, book your appointment and give Ahn Skin & Beauty a try...you won't regret it! : ) -

Great little salon, beautifully decorated and they make you feel very welcome. Ahn did a 2-layer peel and lamprobe on my brown spots. I'm used to doing peels and can tell you this one was excellent. Ahn did a thorough application and after about 5 days, I have glowy skin with smaller pores...and my wrinkles are softer! The lamprobe took care of my large brown spots. I'll be back!

It took me 8 months to find Ahn after trying different people around town.
Taking care of my skin and appearance is a top priority because my profession requires me to appear on television around the country weekly. It's tough these days with HD cameras (and almost everyone has a big screen television) where your face appears so big and clear.
Ahn has been keeping my face looking healthy and vibrant for almost three years now. She's kind, professional, and great at what she does. She also has the best products! Lots of "must haves." -

This place is GREAT! I called around to see where I could get a quick eyebrow clean-up and many places were closed or booked. I wanted to get it done today and not wait.
When I called, they were really nice, not snotty, like other places I had called wanting to just do a "walk-in". While they didn't have walk-in, they were able to book me an appointment within 2 hours.
I saw Theresa, who did an amazing job! She asked me questions about my skin care or problems before doing anything. She really took the time to check out the shape and find out what I was really looking for. I've been in SD for almost a year now, getting my brows messed up every time. I have FINALLY found a place I can go to, and Theresa is my girl!
They are located in an office building, so that might throw some people off, but it's worth the hunt to find them! You won't be disappointed with Theresa when you go. -

Had my first Brazilian wax this past weekend with Janina. I was very nervous about getting the service but saw a great deal on Bloomspot and even greater reviews here on yelp so I decided to go for it. It was as painful as I had imagined but Janina was awesome, super professional and made the service fast and as comfortable as it could be! She was very knowledgeable about what she was doing and made sure I had all the info I needed for after care. I've already booked my next appointment with her and I'm considering going back for additional services. I would definitely recommend this place, and Janina, to all my girlfriends.

After reading all the good reviews, I decided to get my FIRST Brazilian wax here. I purchased a deal from one of those websites, so it was only $25. I can handle pain fairly well & I hadn't heard any too awful stories.. so I wasn't really nervous .. but holy cow .. I don't think I was prepared enough! No matter what anyone says, it WILL hurt! But Ahn is a good conversationalist & will keep you talking & will stop when the pain is too much.
The only CON is that afterwards, I saw quite a few sparse hairs .. but I was still satisfied with everything because I understood that she couldn't possibly get out every hair. BUT after my 2nd brazilian experience elsewhere (Viva Brazil), I realized that it was possible! -

The 1st time I went to Ahn Skin & Beauty was about a year ago and I was very impressed with the staff! They all where very professional and gave me such a wonderful experience that ive been going back ever since! There prices are VERY RESONABLE and the services are VERY PROFESSIONAL! Ahn has her own product line as well as make up line and her products have transformed my face! my skin is softer, clearer and i dont ever plan on going to any other spa!!!!

I have never had a facial before and I'll tell you: when I first walked in I thought the place was adorable then when I met my esthetician i thought she was even more adorable, Janina not only has done skincare for me but now does all my waxing! she's very professional, fast and efficient and i would trust no one else doing my Brazilian waxing :)

I've be going to Ahn for about 9 yrs and I've already warned her that she better never retire because I will track her down! I was referred to her after my sister noticed how the last aesthetician I tried had left my eyebrows looking like little rainbows. Before my mishaps, yes there was more than one; she was reluctant on referring her because she thought we'd be left with the same brow shape. Of course that was not the case because Ahn shapes your brows according to your face. And thankfully after my last catastrophe, yes I'm that anal about my eyebrows, Ahn was able to shape them perfectly. After that, I have been a loyal client and only trust her to shape my eyebrows.
I also have my bikini wax with Ahn. It's always a bit awkward stripping down but Ahn makes you feel comfortable and distracts you with stories that make you laugh rather than cry from the bikini waxing anguish. Plus, I love that she uses a sensitive wax so the pain is a lot less! I learned this after I proclaimed that I was proud of myself because I was very tolerant now-a-days and Ahn one who never loses a beat quickly chimed in "It's the new wax not you". Oh. Either way I was proud!
Lastly, I have to say I love Dee! Six months ago I went to Dee for my first spa facial and I loved it! I see her about once or twice a month and I have to say its super relaxing and most importantly I see improvements in my skin. As with Ahn I know I will be with Dee for many years to come. -

I bought a coupon for waxing at AHN and I was very disappointed with the service. While it was a lovely atmosphere and the staff were professional the bikini waxing was probably one of the worst I have ever had. It was incomplete, with large patches of hair left unattended. It also left me unable to comfortably wear a bathing suit, as some of the skin was very raw and irritated. I have never had a reaction such as this after a bikini wax. I did have my eyebrows waxed and those turned out much better.

I've been serviced by both Ahn & Cheryl. They are very professional and know what is best for my skin. I am completely satisfied with their services and fully comfortable to go to them again. Ahn has been doing this for years and I completely trust her with what my skin needs.

First of all, don't judge this place by the exterior. It's in an office building and not a really nice one at that. But the salon/spa is nicely decorated and has a calming, zen-like feeling. I saw Theresa and she made me very comfortable in an uncomfortable situaltion. I'm a fan. She was super nice and friendly and made me feel OK about everything. Thanks Theresa! I had the best facial with Ahn. I bought a Groupon for a 60 minute facial for $30...can't beat that.
Her techniques were thorough and she is very knowledgeable about skin. Totally relaxing. So much so I fell asleep. I went 2 times and am sad to say I have no more coupons. It's ok, well worth the money..I'll go back anyways, even if it means paying full price.. -

Cheryl rocks. She was so patient and sweet, on top of being technically awesome. I changed my mind about a few things throughout our trial run, and I felt totally comfortable doing so. She's very good at helping you go for a look that will be enough to look good in pictures, but is not too much so that you feel like you're not yourself. :-)
I would recommend Cheryl to anyone who wants a fresh, natural, and striking look for an event. -

After looking at some other reviews on Yelp, I was really hesitant about going to this place. I purchased a $20 Brazilian wax coupon from localtwist (another one of those group coupon sites) months ago, and was really putting off my visit. If I didn't use it by the end of this month, my coupon was gonna go to waste...so I finally just booked an appointment.
The odds that this was going to be a good experience were stacked against me. Why? 1) this was my first Brazilian, 2) apparently I was going to be doing it during a more "sensitive time of the month", and 3) some yelpers reported that going here resulted in a painful and regretful experience.
I took an ibuprofen and headed over to the Mission Valley area. The aesthetician who would be doing the service was Theresa. She was super friendly, and when I admitted that it was my first time, she promised she would take good care of me. She did just that! She made me feel really comfortable, minimized any awkwardness, and surprisingly, I felt very little pain during the entire process-- then again, maybe it was just the ibuprofen working. However, I really think I can attribute my comfort to Theresa's experience and professionalism. Either way, it went completely fine, despite my initial worry...No ripped skin, no bruises, none of those horror stories that I've heard before. She did a good job, gave me recommendations for taking care of the area, and sent me out on my way..well, not without me booking my next appointment with her again. -

Definitely going back. I bought a $50 for $25 certificate and decided to get a brazilian wax. I'm very particular and have had several waxes before since I work in a spa. Janina was amazing and the wax lasted forever! She was very friendly and kind and literally got every hair! I get my waxes at a very good discount at work but would rather pay to go here :)

I went here last year to get my first brazillian done based upon the positive reviews here on yelp.
Their customer service was amazing. The receptionist, I believe is Ahn's daughter, was very friendly and helpful. Since it was my first time getting a brazillian, I wasnt sure about how long my hair length should be inorder to get an good clean wax done. After calling and expressing my concerns, the receptionist, who was also on vacation, was quick and efficient. She wasg able to answer my concerns and was easily able to reschedule me in order for my hair to grow long enough.
On the day of, I had no problem finding the area, and no problem finding parking.
Ahn's shop is beautifully decorated, and she proudly told me she had done it herself. The room had a very warm and inviting vibe, which calmed down my nerves.
While waiting, I sat and chatted with the receptionist, who put me at ease, telling me the wax wasnt as bad as people make it out to be.
A few mins later, Ahn emerged from the back with a client who was thanking her and just saying positive things about the service she had done. That made me feel even less worried.
Ahn introduced herself and took me to the back room. Throughout the waxing, she was quick and got every little bit in every nook and cranny. I think what made it easier was that while she was doing this, she led me through it step by step and talked about her self and asked me questions to put me at ease.
The only negative thing I didnt like was how the lock on the door was broken. I'd be mortified if someone had barged in while I was bare assed on the table getting my pubes ripped off. To solve this problem, Ahn put a hamper in front of the door. I dont think that did much. That didnt ease my mind at all.
I did love the job Ahn did though. She used a hard wax. It was quick and clean, and I had no ingrowns after.
The price was a bit high, but I think I would go back. Hopefully by then, the lock on the door would be fixed. -

Cheryl is absolutely awesome! She made me look beautiful on my wedding day. I had different ideas, and was really stressed out about achieving my look, but Cheryl took care of me. My pictures turned out great! I would recommend her to any bride. Additionally, she is sweet and extremely patient. She also made my mother look gorgeous!!!

I purchased a $30 Reader's Steal deal for a one-hour customized spa facial (original price $80) and was able to book my appointment the day before the offer expired. (I had forgotten about it until the last minute.) For some reason, the phone number listed on the deal's site was Ahn's actual cell number and I accidentally caught her while she was out of town, but she was nice and told me to call the actual business number at (619) 542-0420 to book my appointment since she didn't have her appointment book with her. After reading a recent review here on Yelp about not being able to get a hold of anyone I was scared that the same thing would happen to me when no one answered the phone. But I went ahead and left a message and two days later the receptionist called me back. She was very polite over the phone and I was able to book my facial with Ahn, no problems.
This was my first time going to Ahn Skin & Beauty and I didn't expect to find it located in an office building. There's a big lot in front so I didn't have trouble finding parking. Her business (#300) is listed in the lobby along with all the others. When I got to the third floor and it felt like I was walking to a doctor's/dentist's office. However once I opened the door to the spa, it then felt like I was inside a makeup store since there was makeup displayed on shelves and tables. I didn't realize Ahn had her own brand of makeup. There was no receptionist at the time so I just sat down and waited since I was a bit early for my 1:45 appointment. Ahn had just finished up with a client and came out right on time to greet me, introduce herself, and shake my hand.
She then led me to one of the rooms and told me to undress to however I felt comfortable and put on this white terry-cloth knee-length tube-top dress which was a bit big on me but still comfortable. When I laid down there was a soft blanket that she told me to go under, and it felt like I was getting ready to go to bed! Relaxing meditation-type music was playing in the background and it definitely helped me to relax while I was waiting for her to come back in the room.
This was my first time getting a spa facial and I honestly didn't know what to expect. Ahn seemed very knowledgeable and answered my specific skin questions and gave me good tips as well. She's also very personable with a sense of humor and she likes to get to know her clients. I appreciate how she explained step-by-step what she was doing and what she was putting on my face. She made sure to ask if I was allergic to pineapple or papaya (which I'm not) before she started the cleansing/exfoliating. Then came the steam clean, where she put a moist hot towel all over my face to force the pores to come out. The extraction (of black & whiteheads) wasn't too bad; it just made my eyes water but I was able to handle it. Next she applied a mud mask. While it was setting, the best part was the neck & shoulder massage. Ahn asked how I like my massages, seeing if I was sensitive or a deep-tissue kind of person. I told her I was a bit sensitive so she applied mild to moderate pressure, which was perfect. I'm not sure how long the massage was but it seemed like forever! Not only did she massage my neck and shoulders, she gave a lot of attention to my upper back as well. At the end after she had cleaned off my mud mask, she applied a nice-smelling sunscreen lotion in case I was going to be out in the sun. She even gave a mini-massage on my forehead and temples as she was applying the lotion. I definitely felt super relaxed and didn't want to get up!
I really wanted to give this place 5 stars because it was almost perfect BUT my room's door was missing its latch! While I was changing it was slightly ajar, so I had to change right in front of it just in case. Hopefully they fix that soon!
I gave Ahn a good tip because she made my first spa facial experience a great one. I loved how my face felt as soft and smooth as a baby's bottom! For $30 I certainly got way more than I paid for! Plus she gave me a free mud mask sample to take home and try. I signed up for their e-mail list to be notified about any upcoming deals and will for sure be coming back.

I have been going to Ahn for years and will not let ANYONE else touch my eyebrows. She is fast and efficient and shapes to your face. No super-thin over-waxed brows here!
Ahn customizes facials to your skin type and understands the needs of sensitive or acne prone skin.
I am not the best brazilian wax client and have been known to yell or throw out a few profanities and Ahn is great at distracting me and getting the job done as quickly as possible :)
I recently got married and Edith did the hair and makeup for my entire bridal party. She did a fabulous job!!! I had a very diverse bridal party and she did a great job working with everyone's features making them look their best. My mom even loved her makeup and she is someone that doesn't like to get her makeup done.
She met with me to do a consult and made suggestions about different looks but most importantly, she listened to what I wanted and didn't try to push anything on me.

I just had my first Brazilian with Ahn. A recommendation from a friend at work. Ahn was great, she made me feel comfortable. I'm not going to lie, it was painful, but not unbearable. She worked quick, and explained everything. Her office is clean, and has a nice vibe, very professional, nice deco as well. As soon as I walked in it gave me a sense of calm. Ahn is the absolute BEST at what she does! I have been a loyal patron for almost 10 years and I recommend her to everyone. She is extremely detail oriented when it comes to waxing, and takes the time to make sure her work is perfect. I happily drive down from North County because no one is better than Ahn. I made the mistake of trying a place close to home for convenience once - don't do it, just go to Ahn.
Ahn has also helped me with several skin issues over the years. She has the greatest products and treatments and will figure out the perfect solution for your skin. She will make you glow :)
