Long Beach, CA
Rita makes the best sandwiches in town! I used to come to Agoura Liquor when I worked in the area and would come here at least twice a week just for the deli. I happened to be in the area and came back after a few years and the sandwiches are still as good as they were back then! Consistency is key, and Rita and her crew do it right every time! My favorite is the hot Pastrami.

The smaller sandwiches are big enough to share, and the ingredients are fresh, but meh, nothing special. The turkey sandwich was generous, but the Italian sub was mostly bread, and the dressing was tasteless, a bit of a disappointment. There are three tables/umbrellas outside, and you can sit and eat there.
Two sandwiches, two sodas, and a bag of chips, just pennies less than $20? If Giamela's ever comes out this way, these guys are toast (pun intended)... -

Before hitting the beach I'll make a pit stop here for an occasional sammy n chips.
Upon entering the liquor store, walk straight to the back for deli sliced meats and cheeses, fresh breads, sandwiches made to order! Let them know if you like spicy-hot, they know how to pack pickles n peppers!
A thoughtful breath peppermint is included :P -
Review from Paul V.
I recently realized, having only lived here for a few months, that Agoura Hills is apparently some sort of Deli Mecca, and while Italia Deli & Bakery really stole my heart upon my first visit, I decided it wouldn't be fair for me to give it the title of "Best Deli in the Bubble" unless I'd properly surveyed the competition. The solution? Four Delis in two days. While Blue Table and Sub Contractor's had fallen short, I was particularly interested to see how the Delis were that were even closer to Italia, so I started off with Agoura Liquor.
Star 1 - How was the service and atmosphere?
Agoura Liquor (now renamed Agoura Liquor and Deli) has a surprisingly comfortable atmosphere when you take into consideration that they probably make a majority of their revenue selling booze. Comfortable outdoor seating compliments a well-lit and friendly interior, and the service I received at the deli in the back of the store was excellent. I had my sandwich in no more than three minutes and was able to watch it be constructed from start to finish. Star Granted.
Star 2 - How were the portions relative to the cost?
Alas! A sandwich under $10! With sandwiches from Italia, Sub Contractors, Blue Table and Agoura's Famous running into the double digits, I was relieved when the cost of my sandwich came in at $8.50. Granted, while the sandwich wasn't quite as large as Italia's $9 small sandwich, I'd watched as the Boar's Head ingredients were used and was pleased to see such quality and freshness. Star Granted.
Stars 3/4 - How was the food?
There can be no doubt: my sandwich was good. However, there is one small issue. While I watched the construction of my sandwich from start to finish, I couldn't help but realize that all of the ingredients used were Boar's Head, and while Boar's Head is absolute quality, you know where else I can get Boar's Head ingredients? At just about any supermarket in the country. So while $8.50 isn't a bad deal for a quality sandwich, how much would it have cost if I'd simply walked over to Ralph's or Vons and gotten the ingredients myself? $4.00 for a similarly sized sandwich? Less? Single Star Granted.
Star 5 - Would you eat it every day if you could?
Agoura Liquor makes a nice sandwich, but for less money and just a tad bit more time in the form of a visit to any grocery store, you too can make a sandwich of exactly the same taste and quality. The flavors here are universal, and because nothing at Agoura Liquor's deli is really unique to the location, I simply can't recommend going here over Italia Deli & Bakery less than half a mile away. No Star Granted. -

Simple sandwich shop in a liquor store, but done very well. I am a fan and go here often. Limited outdoor seating, but good for "to-go."

Disapointed in the food, I was upset when one bottle of wine I purchased was bad,

This place is tricky! From faraway there's hardly any hint of the deli stashed in the back of shop, it just looks like your regular old liquor store. But venture to the rear and you find a wee deli counter.
I've stopped here twice, specifically for deli sandwiches. Reminiscent of Rinadli's in El Segundo, the Italian sub was very very tasty and also quite large. You can order the plate, and it comes with sides and stuff, but to be honest the sandwich was filling enough.
We came in when there was absolutely no line, and the ladies at the counter literally made both our sandwiches in under 5 minutes. Because it's a liquor store, there are plenty of other snacks and a huge drink selection of course, all of which you pay for at the front check out. You can either eat your sandwich outside, they have a couple of tables, or take it with you.
If you're heading into the Santa Monica mountains, via Kanan, definitely stop here for your picnic essentials!!!!!! -

Not bad sandwiches, love the bread *its pretty addicting from the bakery next door.
Wish it was slightly cheaper or had more available vegetables but "A-ok"
Fast friendly service and quick turn around time.
Chairs and tables are available outside.... -

Pleasantly surprise of the quality of sandwiches. I didn't know what to expect from a liquer store deli. We had meatball and pastrami. The meatball was overloaded with meatballs, sauce and cheese. It was delish. The pastrami was ok, it could do better with more meat, & dressing.
I was in and out of there in under 10 mins.
There are outside tables overlooking the parking lot. Hey it's a liquer store... Not fancy. Great for a quick lunch when Jack in the Box is not looking too appealing.
I'll be back for that meatball sandwich. -

Absolutely fantastic Boar's Head sandwiches with the fresh bread from the bakery next door. Also, plenty of tasty adult and other beverages and snacks.

Great for a fast sandwich. Not quite as good as Italia deli, but still quite good. Unless you are into Togos, or Quiznos, this is one of the only places that makes a real sandwich.

AmaZing sandwiches, believe it or not! We have had almost everything and for the value it is really great. You can go to jack in the box and spend $8 on a combo of junk food, or the same amount on a huge sandwich for two with fresh and healthy ingredients. Give it one try and you'll love it.

Family owned and operated forever. GREAT service and smiles always. My go to place when off Kanan. They know my sandwich and make it right. Tried a variety of them and now even better that the son suggested to pops to use a better quality meat in Boar's Head. Way to upgrade the product where others look to downgrade. Bread is a key to a sandwich and they have fantastic rolls but want a rye or wheat slice... no problem Choice Choices choices. Get some chips and a tea while there too. FULL SERVICE! Regular Chicken Salad with extra mustard. Can I put 6 stars? ******

A decent Boars Head deli in the back that certainly beats out the fast food options at this exit. The sandwiches are big, you try splitin one.

Random sandwich shop in the back of the liquor store. They use bread from the bakery next door. I loved my pastrami sandwich.

Love this place. Friendly, all locals and great sandwiches. They recently updated their menu so I have to admit I havent tried much of it, but their turkey always hits the spot. Usually a very short wait... especially compared to italia deli which is my other favorite spot

Love this place! I hit it twice a week for my usual turkey bacon and swiss on a roll. The bread is great and always fresh. Fast, friendly, and very reasonable. Pay the extra .75 cents and get the sandwich "plate" (deli pickle, potato salad, pepperoncini, olives and a chocolate mint!). Delicious!

Boarshead deli in the back rocks!
Everyone in my office LOVES it, and its that good...a good deli (according to me) is defined by Boarshead meat and yummy homemade bread...this place has both!
