FOREST HILLS, NY
Waiter was great. BF choose a beer, not available, choose another beer, not available...finally decided on a glass of wine. Manager comped the drink for the inconvenience. Beer selection is limited but good quality. No cocktail menu available but waiter gave a few suggestions and I went with the Blueberry fizz Martini, pretty good could have been stronger.
On to the food....
Bread basket was ok, butter was cold
Apps-
Keftedes-GREAT, like a perfectly crispy potato pancake but made with zucchini and carrots and some other stuff. Came with a dill dip. Order came with 3, enough to share with at least 2 people.
Onion soup-lots of cheese, onions, great flavor.
Entrees-
Hanger Steak-asked for it medium/rare and it was cooked PERFECTLY. Came with mashed potatoes and haricot vert and baby carrots (only 1 carrot on the plate). BF really enjoyed.
Chicken-juicy and cooked the way chicken should be cooked. The skin was garlicky and full of flavor, came with broccoli and mashed potatoes.
Used a coupon that I got on http://restaurant.com so it wasn't too expensive, without it bill would have been around $85
We will return, great service, great atmosphere, jazzy music in the background. There is a tv over the bar that had a basketball game on but didn't take away from the nice setting of the restaurant.
Also they have a $35 prix-fixe menu that I think is a good deal and would come back to try. -

There's a reason for all of the poor reviews of this place. I've been here twice. The first visit was poor but not poor enough for me to slam it on yelp. The second. well ...
Similar to other reviews, we saw a manager type guy walking around. However, he ONLY tried to assess tables where the patrons had a penis. If you were a party of two or more girls which is always a party, he wouldn't even look at you; odd. We waited at least 15 minutes for a menu which we only received after asking for one; same deal for:
*bread
*water
*refills of water
*my soda
*silverware, yes I said silverware
*salt and pepper
Anything you need required trying to dodge in front of a waiter.
My friend had the steak. She said it sucked. I'm still in PTSD mode from the last slaughter house video my vegan friend posted on facebook so I opted for the fish. It arrived with NO sides. I assumed it came with a potato or something but nope! Though at that point, I didn't care, I still inquired. I was told that the sauce acts as a side b/c there was a TINY bit of potato in the sauce. One could talk about saving pennies over dollars but why get lost in semantics?
The salads were decent.
The bathroom was disgusting. If you have virgin eyes, I warn you to look away now. The male urinal is located directly adjacent to squatting position from the toilet. Being that I'm a squatter, I was directly eye level from the urinal which was covered with strands of hair. Yes, that hair. Since the service took forever, I used the bathroom twice and at the second visit, it still hadn't been cleaned. 36. for a steak that sucked and you can't clean a bathroom?
Forest Hills really doesn't have anything to offer, other than outrageous million dollar homes but my guess is that those people cook a lot. Any other place on this strip would be better. -

Not impressed at all. I have been to several 'high end' steak houses and this did not even compare. I ordered the skirt steak (medium) with the chimichurri sauce. It was cooked well and did it have much flavor at all. The garlic mash potatoes were alright, but nothing to write home about. The steak sauce made the meal edible.
The appetizers that we ordered were the best part of the meal. We got a salad which was pretty good and a decent size. Also ordered the baked clams which were very tasty. Would not go back again. -

Decided to try this place out on Easter night after church. It looks great, new with nice decor. That's the only good thing I can say about this place. We were seated by a nice hostess right away upon entering(I guess that's another good thing, especially in New York.) We waited for someone, anyone, to come to the table for 10-15 minutes just to greet us and take our drink order. The restaurant is one big room so it's easy to see all the wait staff and the guy in the suit walking around who I figured to be the manager. Our drinks arrived in a reasonable amount of time. When our waiter brought our drinks we ordered both an appetizer and our entrees. We proceeded to wait for 40 minutes without any food arriving. During that time I watched wait staff and the manager walk around serving other tables and congregating at the bar to socialize amongst one another. At one point the sun was in my eyes. It was so blinding I had my hand up to shield my eyes from the sun, as did other patrons in the restaurant, and I was trying to get our waiter or the manager's attention. We decided to take it upon ourselves to get up and move to another table in the corner of the restaurant away from the sun. A female server, whose table I suppose we took, approached us asking if we had moved from the bar. We told her we had moved from the table across the room because of the sun. She seemed less than thrilled and never bothered to mention it to our server or the manager.
I must say, it was more than amusing to see the look on the waiter's face when he finally realized we had left our table. Priceless. He was dumbfounded. Dumb being the key word. Our waiter was a completely incompetent idiot. I waved him down and let him know that we were still waiting on our appetizer, fried calamari. He assured us he would check on it and never returned. Another 15 minutes later I was so disgusted we decided to leave. Our waiter was at the bar flirting with one of his coworkers, and the manager was across the street, smoking a cigarette, talking on the phone, in plain view. Really?
I had had enough. I wanted out before the food arrived. Two tables next to us had now complained about the food and I did wan't to stick around to see what was in store for us. We finished our drinks and approached our waiter at the bar to pay. He was totally shocked when we told him we wanted to leave. His first response was, "Your food hasn't come out yet?" Really? It's your job to bring the food, right? And you obviously haven't brought it to us yet, right? Idiot! Then he proceeds to ask if we would like the food to go? Hilarious!! What nerve! Once again, idiot! We declined and thought it a good idea to interrupt the manager across the street to give him a heads up on our experience.
Since this story is already long and you already get the point I will just say this. The manager was just as big an idiot as the server. He explained that he had received complaints about our server in the past and that he was brought on three months prior to "turn things around" at the restaurant.
Epic fail!
At no point did the manager offer us any incentive to return. No business card. No free drink, appetizer, nothing. Not that I wanted anything, but isn't that a manager's typical last ditch effort to make things right?
Anyway, we went three doors down to a Thai restaurant and had an amazing meal. -

The hubby and I decided to give this place a try since our last visit in 2009 when they opened. We figured that surely by now, they would have perfected their menu and their steaks... but, alas, it seems they still haven't gotten it right. The place itself is swanky and dim, perfect for some wine with that special someone. The bread sets high expectations as you await your meal but sure enough, yelpers do not lie. The NY Strip Steak aged for 28 days was below mediocre and for a $36 price tag, it could have at least been warm and tender. I lucked out with the special, a delicious fish with tomatoes, however, let's be honest... this place has problems if their fish outshines their steaks. It's a steakhouse for goodness sakes!
Overall, if you want a better steak, step on over to Santa Fe a few doors down and save yourself some $$. -

West New York, NJ
A steakhouse in name only... even with reservations there was confusion about who we were and where we were to seat (it shouldn't take two people asking the same questions several times). The menus were missing pages, the waiter was not trained properly (he tried hard but basics such bringing the entire order without having to be reminded of missing side dishes or that beer should be served with a glass). The Caprese Salad was mundane, I get better moz than what they had, the oysters were fresh but insipid and came with cocktail sauce and nothing else. The steaks were OK, certainly not worth the price. Overall I give it 2 stars because the steaks were not bad, just OK, but they should change their name, its misleading to call this a steakhouse at Open Table.

We went to aged in the evening, it was warm and welcoming. The waiter was really friendly. I had lamb chops, my gosh those stuff are good. The presentation was excellent. It was a nice light meal. The mashed potatoes will leave your taste buds satisfied. With regards to the dessert, it was so good. Again the presentation was awesome. My only suggestion would be to put more emphasis on the decor. Yes, the name is Aged. But, I think that will put the food and the interior design on par. The Lamb chops are the way to go for first time visitors.

I am writing regarding my New Year's Eve experience . . . or lack thereof at this restaurant.
My husband and I have have enjoyed eating here before and on New Year's Eve, we decided to stop in on the off chance that there might be a table available even though we didn't have a reservation.
When we arrived, a server (not the usual hostess) told us that she had a table available for a walk in. We were thrilled and began to follow her behind the curtain and into the restaurant when the hostess stopped us. She said it was nice to see us again and asked if we had a reservation. When we said "no" she rolled her eyes and said "oooooh! let me calculate your wait time if we can even accomodate you . . ." The server clearly pointed to an open table on the hostess seating chart on the computer and the hostess replied "You know we're overbooked, there are already 2 reservations that have been waiting at the bar for 30 minutes!"
The hostess asked us to step into the dining room and wait while she sorted things out, this is next to impossible in this restaurant as every inch of space is taken up by the bar and tables so we said we'd wait outside . . . needless to say, after 45 minutes, of waiting/discussing our other options we went elsewhere. The hostess never did calculate that wait time for us.
Newsflash aged . . . this is not Manhattan . . . I'll gladly pay for good food, but overbooking on a holiday and a rude hostess is not excuseable.1 Previous Review: Show all »

We headed to Aged tonight, Mister being in the mood for a nice piece of meat- and who am I to say no? What Mister wants, Mister gets. I called for a table for 2 @7:30 and was pleased they were able to accomodate us on a Friday evening.
I had a yummy glass of Malbec and Mister had a Belgian beer In a bottle) but abstained from ordering the Spinach salad, which I really wanted, because the portion would be too big; I opted instead to watch Mister enjoy his New England Clam Chowder, while visions of a 10 oz Filet Mignon, cooked medium rare, danced in my head.
I'm glad I didn't get that salad because our steaks arrived, cooked to perfection (Mister likes his medium) along with sides of Sautéed Spinach and perfectly crisp Hash Browns- once again, we made the Clean Plate Club without difficulty. Scott our waiter, who recommended Mister's beer and our sides, also recommended we try their Warm Apple Tart a la Mode- YUM!
Was our memorable experience an anomaly? I don't know what to think; I've read the numerous negative Yelp reviews and had girded myself for something similar but it never happened. I'm just glad ours was a wonderful experience because we'll head back to Aged, for sure. -

Where do I begin. The baked clams were terrible and sandy. Very sandy. The ceasar salad that my bf ate was plain and a little too anchovyish. My steak was rare and I wanted medium. It was chewy and had no flavor. He ordered mac n cheese which tasted and looked like it came straight out of a velveeta box. Actually no, it wasnt as good as velveeta, more like kraft. You know with that powdered cheese, yeah that bad. The chimmichurri sauce lacked that garlicy vinegar taste that im used to when eating at a quality restaurant. The "aged" steaksauce was not their recipe. Who do they think theyre fooling? It was bbq sauce mixed with A1. Prices were way too much for that crap that they call food. My bf could make a better steak with his eyes closed. Save ur money and run for ur life when u see this restaurant.

This Thanksgiving, I skipped the traditional Turkey for crunchy tuna, sea bass and fra diavlo.
What a perfect date place. I fell instantly in love with the warm, cozy, romantic interior. It's one of those places that makes you want to sit and talk for hours over wine and bite.
Everything was cooked to perfection. The tuna had a perfect sear.
I had the fra diavlo which was a mix of clams, mussels, shrimp and calamari over pasta. The sauce was light but my pasta was just a bit overcooked.
The sea bass was divine - BUT the sweet maple-syrupy glaze was so over powering you couldn't have more than a few bites without feeling confused. Were you eating fish or pancakes? -

Came here for my husband's birthday dinner and it wasn't too bad. I would have given this place another star except the waiter service was a little crappy.
For appetizers, we ordered the Baked Clams. The sauce was a little buttery but I like butter so it was to my liking. For our entrees, I ordered Fra Diavolo and my husband ordered 22 oz. Rib-Eye Steak with Sauteed Broccoli. I usually like my Fra Diavolo to be spicy but I totally forgot to tell the waiter when ordering. To my surprise the Fra Diavolo was actually a little spicy and not to tomato. Loved it! Husband loved the steak and broccoli.
All in all I say dinner was pretty good. We enjoyed it minus the waiters ignoring us. -

If Yelp issued a yearbook, the quote I would want people to associate my name/face with would be "when in Rome, do as the Romans do."
How I wish I applied that rule to my experience at Aged ... a steakhouse, after all. I unfortunately ordered the jambalaya (obviously, I'm still mourning the lost of Mardi Gras on Austin St) which basically was a chicken, sausage and shrimp dish in tomato soup over white rice for $22. As you can probably tell, I was a little remorseful over my meal option.
I was fortunate enough to have dined with people that did go by the "when in Rome" rule and ordered steaks. I was even more fortunate that I dined with people that shared, resulting in a privileged bite of the filet mignon from my bff. The filet mignion was just simply buttery and cooked to medium rare perfection!
Lesson learned: Eat steak at a steak house. Everything else is a distraction. -

Forest Hills, NY
Let me preface this by saying that my wife and I visited Aged with a deep hope that we'd like it, despite what all these reviews said. I mean, it looks nice from the outside and seems to be consistently busy. They must be doing something right...?
No.
The general consensus on Yelp is that the service is poor but the food is decent. Our experience was the exact opposite - while not stellar, our waiter was attentive and helpful... we received our food in a timely fashion and were checked up on to ensure that our meal was going ok. And that brings me to my next point.
My wife's Fra Diavolo was decent. The pasta wasn't cooked al dente but the sauce had some nice flavor to it, and it came with some unusually large prawns amongst the other seafood. I'm glad we had this, because it took the restaurant three tries to get my NY Strip correct. And that's a shame because hey your restaurant name is Aged and your specialty is supposed to be steaks.
Upon receiving my steak, I cut it in the middle and found it was brown all the way through (I had ordered medium rare). I called the waiter over and he agreed that it needed to be sent back. About 10 minutes later, the waiter returned with a steak that had the exact same cut down the middle - I thought to myself, there's no way that they brought my same steak back to me. I was right - for some reason, they saw fit to cook an overcooked steak some more. The third time, I got a new steak red and cold through the middle... so we just finished my wife's pasta, and I packed up the steak to take home, where I threw it on a pan and cooked it properly. I shouldn't have to do that with a $10 steak, much less a $30+ one.
Just so we're clear, the one star I gave is for the service. -

Fresh Meadows, NY
Overpriced and nothing was good
my friend and I were drawn to this restaurant because of the trendy looking sign and outdoor seating.
we sat outside, and decided that we were not sure of the menu, as it looked rather crappy yet oh so expensive and we decided to share an appetizer and an entree and if we were hungry and the food was good, we were planning to order more.
We shared a crabcake which was ~alright~. on a bed of seaweed salad, and then surrounded by some kind of creamy tartar sauce like sauce.. it was disappointing and definitely a stupid combination. Not what I want in a crabcake.. one or the other man... pick one.
Ordered the seabass upon the reccomendation of the server, after he obviously suggested the most expensive menu item ( such a turn off) and then we told him we were not in the mood for beef, he kindly suggested the most expensive seafood item.
The seabass dish was surrounded essentially by maple syrup and was honest to god one of the most inedible concoctions I've ever seen be served in an actual restaurant. ( I went to Culinary School and I'm not even sure I've seen something so dumb put on a plate before)
Someone here is trying to get creative with the food. lately, i see so many restaurants trying to format themselves as highend/chefy type places. Lets get something clear, Not everyone who holds a saute pan is a CHEF and putting 2 obscure and unlikely items in a dish does not a haute cuisine restaurant make. essentially picking ingredients out of an "ingredient hat" and just throwing them together is getting pretty old with me and Aged was just another one of those places. Whoever is in this kitchen, I hope you are reading this and that you change your game up because you sir, are failing.
thoughtless, amateurish and the staff are just a bunch of young kids and definitely dont give a rats ass about the restaurant. Hostess misunderstood our request to sit outside ( understandably - "can we sit outside?" is pretty confusing) and made us stand on the street for like 5 minutes while there were several (it was late) open tables available outside. When I realized she was collaborating on getting a table ready for us inside... i asked again.. this time more slowly, " Can we sit outside?" she replies "oh! you wanna sit outside?" alas,,,another 5 minutes standing on the sidewalk like jackasses, and we were brought to an outside table.
the waiter actually told us when we asked him what his favorite dessert there was, he told us to go across the street to Marthas Country Bakery. and we did. -

I live down the street from this place and have been coming here since it first opened. The quality of the food and service has drastically decreased since it first opened. My most recent experience here was extremely disappointing and I would recommend people to spend their money somewhere else. The management was obviously struggling to attain customers. They have a C restaurant grade which speaks for itself. I ordered a martini from the bar and it was one of the worst drinks I've ever had in my life. The food tasted old and wasn't even cooked correctly. It might have been microwaved. I will never come back here and I recommend that everyone should stay away from this place.

Came here for Sunday brunch on a full stomach and was hesitant to order their Steak and Eggs since I was so full, but the steak was surprisingly tender and flavorful that I finished the entire steak, and ate all four eggs they gave me on the side. The home fries tasted like hotel breakfast home fries, soggy and orange. But this place gives you a free cocktail (mimosa or bloody mary) AND coffee and tea with your brunch entree.
What a great deal!!! I would totally come here again! -

Like many of the places in Forest Hills, this place also has city prices in Queens. The steak was good, but service, not so much. $35 for the pre-fixe isn't a bad deal, and the short ribs app? That should have been an entree with the amount of food provided. It was a huge pile of meat ontop of mashed potatoes. After that... I was full. Forget about the main course.

I'm really disappointed in Aged. I thought we had a really good thing going...but, as it turns out, it has an average rating of 2.5 stars for a reason.
This past Friday, I stopped in with four others for happy hour. Unfortunately, there were no seats at the bar, so I asked whether we could be seated for happy hour. After some deliberation, the host, a waiter, and what appeared to be a manager, came over to us and said that happy hour applied only to seating at the bar and that on Friday and Saturday they had a strict policy that in order to be seated, parties must spend a minimum of $100. I explained to the manager that the policy was absurd, that we were going to leave, thus spending $0 and, although my boyfriend and i come often, we would never return. He said, "That's fine, good bye."
Quite unbelievable, if you ask me. Our party walked down the street and spent over $200 at another establishment that kindly welcomed our business with no restrictions.Listed in: don't do it, just don't., You All Know How Much I Like…, It's Happy Hour!

Review from Mike K.
I went to Aged for Father's Day dinner this evening. I'd meant to Yelp a few more places before getting to this one, but I had such an atrocious experience that I had to get this review out as soon as possible.
Part of me is feeling schadenfreude while writing this - this meal was so bad; I'm enjoying reviewing this restaurant so the world - I count the world among my readership :P - can see how awful it is - but more than anything I feel crummy. I had a terrible meal and that makes me sad.
Before I went I briefly scanned over the reviews and saw that several Yelpers had noted that the service was really slow. Although I walked in with an open mind they really lived up to their reputation; it took them over 10 minutes to bring out our beer (in the bottle!).
When the waiter finally took our order I asked for the spicy wings to start, but he replied that the wings were the only item they had run out of. Ok, no problem, instead I'll have the short ribs.
One hippopotamus, two hippopotamus, three hippopotamus...
...ten thousand three hundred seventy nine hippopotamus...
30 minutes later when they finally served the appetizers, our waiter put down my parents' and said "I'll be right back with your coconut shrimp and"
Cutting him off before he could finish, I reminded him that "I ordered the ribs."
"Oh, sorry, we're out of those."
I have a tendency to unconsciously wear my feelings on my face but tonight was completely intentional. I was trying to convey my irritation to the waiter, but he didn't seem to pick up on any of it. Instead he asked me if I'd like another appetizer. Not wanting to hold up the meal any longer than it was already taking - or willing to wait another 30 minutes for an appetizer that may or may not have existed - I declined.
My parents had the crispy tuna - wrapped in nori and barely seared - which was alright and the spinach salad - goat cheese, walnuts, raspberry vinaigrette - which was fine too.
Mercifully after they removed our plates it only took 15 minutes to get our steaks out. My dad and I both ordered the strip done medium, which was served on the bone. New York strip is my default steak so I've eaten a lot of them and this is the first time I've seen one on the bone, which was the first signal that something was wrong. My dad rightly pointed out that it's disingenuous to bill it as a 16 oz. steak on the menu without specifying that it's bone-in, since the cut of meat would be less than 16 oz.
The last time I went to a steakhouse I had a bad experience where my steak was overcooked, so this time I decided cut into the thickest part of the meat before eating it. Sure enough, my spidey sense had not failed me as my steak came out just barely pink in the very center. I took a bite to try it out, but it tasted liked it looked - medium-well and overdone. Of course the waiter had come by to ask how everything was before I'd even had a chance to try the steak, so I had to wait before I could flag him down to send it back.
I think this is the first time I've sent something back to the kitchen and I really don't feel good about it, but I didn't want to muddle through a crappy meal and pout about it if it was something that could be fixed in short order.
We ordered garlic mashed potatoes, creamed spinach and crispy cauliflower - under the appetizer list - as sides, and I'd hoped to keep busy with these while they redid my steak, but they took away my plate, which would have made eating them quite awkward. For what it's worth the potatoes were good, the creamed spinach was much too creamy or cheesy, garlicky and thin to be good (it's like the spinach was there to only give the dish color, not flavor or texture) and although I didn't try the cauliflower (it's one of the few things I don't like), my dad mentioned that it wasn't crispy, which I confirmed by poking it with my fork.
My grandmother had the hanger steak, which was also overdone, and I managed to stave off hunger by having some green beans from her plate that were cooked with enough salt and butter to make them taste good, but my overall impression was that they were too greasy and heavy. My dad's steak was cooked properly, but he wasn't impressed with the quality of the meat, and my mom was ok with her kobe burger (it was too lean and dry for me).
The waiter returned with a new steak after 15 minutes and, much like before, I proceeded to cut into the center to test the meat before digging in. This time instead of grilling almost all the juiciness out of it, the kitchen had sent back a steak that was deep red in the center, completely rare (moo!). Disgusted and dejected, I sent it back to the kitchen once more.

...Aptly named given our experience. We came here on a whim during brunch last Sunday and were seated right away. We were all completely famished after our son's basketball practice and ready to eat....so we put in an order of calamari which came within a reasonable amount of time. It was tasty an a large enough portion to share amongst a family of 4...Then the food came...well, everyone's accept mine. My son loved his burger and the fries were seriously delicious...I mean really good ( i had to sneak one since i was still waiting) My husband's eggs florentine on the other hand was more like hard boiled eggs with spinach on a soggy muffin. I mean the eggs were poached beyond recognition! So i convinced him to just ask them to remake it....I was still waiting for my steak and eggs afterall. eventually, the eggs florentine reappears and still no steak and eggs! My husband decides to jusr return his florentine and i cacelled my order ( the kids were almost done so it just didnt make sense.
The server told us that they would comp everything and apologized profusely which was very nice but we were ready to go.
Based on the way they remedied the situation and those amazing french fries, we will probably give them another go... -

They have a snotty pretentious attitude... which they have NO REASON to have... Im sorry, you aren't BLT in midtown (who is, by the way, WAY better AND more friendly)... You are Aged in Forest Hills, Queens.
Get over yourself.
You steak... needs SALT.
I think the chef accidentally put 2x the amount in the french onion soup and none on the steak...
In all fairness... the steak had a great char... the fish was amazing.
Tried their crunchy tuna appetizer which was actually quite good.
The drinks were pretty watered down and they took FOREVER to come.
Now, Im fair to bartenders... I know its tough to meet everyone's needs... but the restaurant wasn't even BUSY... 6 tables max... and 3 people at the bar...
Was quite entertained by the hostess and her overstuffed bra... which accidentally seemed to shift itself sometime during early in the evening and left her lopsided most of the evening without her noticing...
So... in finishing...
Do yourself a favor... go next door to Cabana... -

The staff was so rude, that I decided to leave before I even ordered!
My friend and I came here on a Friday afternoon. The restaurant was practically empty. Because we had come to Forest Hills to go shopping and not to attend a ball, we were wearing jeans. I think that's what made the staff decide that they didn't want us there. The hostess was so rude, and nasty. Her attitude totally conveyed that we were not wanted here. Next, we had the audacity to not order any alcohol! Again, Friday afternoon...we were not looking to party like that, just to have some steak or a burger. The waitress looked at us as if we were aliens and told the manager who was walking by that we were not going to have any drinks! the manager proceeded to give us a dirty look!!!
I decided that my Aged experience would end there. My friend and I grabbed out shopping bags and decided on Thai food instead. -

Update: We have returned again recently and were pleasantly surprised at an improvement in service. I'll bump this up from 1 to 3 Stars.

we visited aged the other night to give it one more chance. we went there last year, and were not impressed by the food or service. however, we were in the mood for trying something different that night, so aged it was! boy, was that a mistake.
the minute we arrived, we were forced to wait in the tiny entry area where the hostess was standing. at this point, in a normal restaurant, we should have been greeted and made welcome. instead, we ended up standing there for a good 7 minutes before she even acknowledged us. she was too busy arguing with a customer. this would be okay, if she at least said, "sorry, be with you in a minute". just before she said anything to us, the manager walks in completely discombubulated, and literally knocked me to the side and might as well have walked right through me. no apologies, no "excuse me", nothing. finally, the hostess tells us it will be 15 min. before we can get our table, so we decide to wait at the bar. boy, was that another mistake.
we sit at the bar and the first thing that happens is an angry waiter comes over to complain to the bartenders about his tip. he did not do this under his breath whatsoever. the whole restaurant could hear him and i'll quote him: "this b*tch didn't even give me....she only left me..." he was clearly not happy with his tip and made sure everyone knew. what a friendly environment so far!!
immediately after that, the initial argument that was happening between the hostess, manager and customer escalated into a hostile screaming match for all customers to witness. the manager was pacing back and forth and even called the cops to come! we found out from the bartender (who seemed to be the only normal person in the place) that they were arguing over a $50 gift certificate. the customer thought it was good for a year, and the mananger was telling him that it was only good for 6 months. any rational manager would immediately grant the customer's wish and be done with it. no, this manager decided to let the issue escalate into a shouting match in front all of his patrons and even let the police come. whatever happened to "the customer is always right"?
meanwhile at this point, we're wondering why the hell we're even still here. so we decided to down our drinks and leave. at this point, the dumb hostess comes over to us and says in a very unfriendly, terse tone: "your table is ready. pay your tab here". we then were to sure to let her know that we would no longer need that table.
i mean really?!! what would ramsay say about this?!?! so on to moca we went to enjoy a nice dining experience and where the environment was friendly, and most importantly, non-threatening.
so if you haven't guessed already, we will never be going back to aged, and we hope you will take advice and not go also. we cannot wait until this "restaurant" changes management.
number one "tip" for Aged. Fire your inept management and pray that things improve. -

Went there for my two year anniversary since this was the restaurant we had gone to for our six month. Although the baked clams were amazing and the skirt steak was cooked well, the chimichuri sauce they paired it with was not very pleasing. I've had that sauce at other restaurants and this did not do well in comparison. My fiances steak and short rib was delicious. For our six month the food was just as delicious including this amazing tomato soup they offered as a special which was no longer available. Saddening since that was one of the main reasons Aged had staid in my mind as a restaurant to return to. This time around as good as the food was there was nothing memorable, just good food. The service started off good but the quality declined through out the night including texting and huddling towards the end.

First off i'm gonna say that I'm a pretty happy-go-lucky person and easy to please. Aged can be a great place to be but I feel a few things could be worked at.
I went to have a nice meal with my two roommates. The atmosphere was great and they served my favorite Lindemans beer. (A+ for that!) It's a smaller restaurant with one main room. So you can see why it's confusing that your server is not very attentive. Everything looked great on the menu and we had several appetizers and entrees to try an array of items. Plus we had a few of their cocktails which were all lovely. I just don't really get why it took so long for our drinks and food to come out. I understand cocktailing and serving so i sympathize with servers but it was a little extreme.
Regardless the food and drinks were great. I would just recommend coming with no time restraints. We did and we had a lovely time. -

I met an old friend here for happy hour. Our bartender looks like Joshua Jackson and at the time, we referred to him as" the other guy, not that Van der beek guy"! He was cool and provided excellent service. We both ordered wine and enjoying the elegant ambiance.
We ordered from the bar menu, the marinated steak tips and coconut shrimp. Steak tips were served on mini buns with mozzarella on top with a side of perfectly fried onion rings. This dish was really delish. This would make me come back and try an aged steak! The coconut shrimp was disappointing, parts of the fried breading was was burnt.
Also, we ordered desserts. I got the chocolate lava cake and she got the apple tart with ice cream. The chocolate lava cake was okay, nothing special. Overall, this is a great bar in FH. I recommend the bar to meet old friends and that blind date. I agree with previous reviews that this place is pricey. I would try a steak here next time. -

Ate here a few months ago. Was hesitant at first after reading all the negative reviews, but I've been wanting to try this place since they opened.
Wait was very long, and the place was very crowded. The tables are also very close to each other so it's a little cramped.
But the food was exellent. As a steak lover, I thought their steak was excellent. It wasn't like the typical American steak. More of a steak with slight Indian spice (found out later that the owner is Indian).
I also recommend the chicken skewers from the appetizers and the creme brule is top notch.
Overall, I had a good experience there, and I wouldn't mind going back to try some more steak. -

I made a visit to Aged last October.
Aged has a very unique and nice atmosphere. It is a relatively dim restaurant. Aged has a full bar and a pretty good selection of alcohol.
The food was decent. The food was not the best I've ever had. Because Aged is relatively "pricey," I was expecting more from the food.
As far as customer service is concerned, the waiter was not the most attentive. The manager/supervisor whom was there the night I went, was attentive. It appeared as if I was getting more attention from the manager than the waiter who was assigned to my table.
Aged is good for a romantic date, but not the best for a romantic date. If you are an individual who is easily satisfied when it comes to the taste of your food, then I would recommend it. If you are looking for something more creative and/or flavorful, I would suggest trying elsewhere. -

like most other reviewers and native forest hillers, i walked into aged with high hopes (from months of anticipation) and low expectations (from reading the reviews below). i stopped in the other night for a drink, to feel the place out and check out the menu. while the decor is on par with other steakhouses, it's nothing more original than what i've seen at places like quality meats on w. 58th. the prices are certainly on par with places like ruth's chris, wolfgang's and other of manhattan's most well-known steakhouses! while our bartender was genuinely friendly, she didn't know how to mix a simple drink, convincing me and my would-be dining partner that we didn't want to risk ordering the food.
aged has been open for a while now, and i'm wondering if it's worth another look-see. -

I have wanted to eat at Aged since it opened. I am a big fan of austin street and this place always caught my eye. After reading some yelp reviews, I was hesitant to try it. BUT, Im glad I did ! I had the Filet mignon- deish ! Garlic mashed potatoes, so so good. Wine, good of corse. lol I think this place is a nice little addition to the restaurants on/near austin street. If you want a nice steak dinner, I would recommend it.
Oh, and check out the candles on the tables. Realest looking fake candles I have ever seen. :)
