WOW! I came across this sweet vintage store find on a sunny afternoon in the Mission. I was actually on my way to score some rad sidewalk sales but the awesome vintage Mickey mouse men's tee drew me in from across the street.
LET ME TELL YOU, I may regret giving away my new secret vintage shopping find, but the prices are so reasonable here. It's clean, uber stylish, and supremely awesome. I saw a plethora of authentic vintage tees for prices like $19???!!!! I even saw a taupe cowboy suede fringe on the yoke men's jacket for $70. Serious????!!!!! I am not dreaming here. This is total secret men's fashion haven.
Not only was I impressed with the authenticity of the vintage jewelry, tee's, aztec sweaters, and suede/leather jackets, but who I believe to be the owner made a very kind gesture with a claw ring-- YOU NEED TO SHOP HERE PEOPLE. I am definitely going to stop by on the weekend again!
Thank you, After Life for being so rad and I will support the small business owners of SF! -

This is not a run of the mill recycled clothing shop. This place is awesome, beautifully arranged, easy to maneuver and find things at really reasonable prices! I had to do a double take that some of the items weren't new as they are showcased so well.

Gosh, I just love this place so much.
I love that they take really fabulous, one of a kind vintage pieces and then re-vamp them so they have a more updated fit and finish. The prices are affordable and everything is uniquely pretty. I always find something I love when I come in here.
The jewelry is also gorgeous and locally made, and the really cute employees play good music and are sweet and helpful.
My favorite store in SF so far.Listed in: Just the Loveliest of Things

My boyfriend scored an awesome slim fit Varsity Jacket and navy Pendleton Pea Coat here. The pricing on their vintage clothing is more than reasonable, considering their owners/buyers hand select items still with long wear on them and can be turned into something relevant today.
So glad we discovered this place during our trek through the mission. My only hope is that I find something for myself next time ... Thanks Afterlife for making vintage shopping so easy! -

Vintage, well-maintained, well-kept, awesomeness. I kind of need to avoid this place because I always want to spend more money than I should. But, what the heck, live a little right? Shop, spend, enjoy. It all goes back into the SF economy anyhow. Buy local. Support local. Be local.

Vintage clothes & shoes & purses + non-vintage clothes + non-vintage jewelry
an already sorted through Goodwill/Ebay that leaves you with a perfectly refined selection of boots/shoes, bags, leather coats, sunglasses, tees to choose from.... my favorite vintage shop in the Mission for everyday clothes
there is also a case of non-vintage jewelry by local designers and the store owner herself. For local handmade jewelry, I found it to be affordable at around $65-75 for a necklace or earrings. really unique stuff -

Where do I start... Great location, awesome hours (noon-8pm), vinyl pressings, art openings, good music, comedy shows, cool clothes, amazing jewelry by local designers, and super cute ladies. Not just some wannabe hipster store in the mission; but a poignant boutique with many types of genuine & inspiring flare. I'm headed over there next week to pick up some jewelry I've wanted for a while now.

This is the place where you spend $28 on a pair of Mickey Mouse sunglasses, then tell everyone you found them at the Goodwill for a dollar. (Or better, have had them since the '80s.)
You know, 'found' fashion that has already been found for you.
My husband bought a striped Wonder Years sweater that I adore for around $30.
Some of the vintage tees break three figures. -

Just wanted to say that the owner contacted me and apologized and said he would exchange the shoes, even though they don't normally do that. Thanks guys!

Went shopping here to kill some time before hitting Dolores Park with friends; it happened to be on the day when it was so warm out that the sweater combination I had on wasn't really helped me on my brisk walk on Valencia. So I stopped inside and checked out their revamped blouses and found a great floral and black blouse that was perfect; it is made with a lightweight material with breathed easily. So I tried it and it was perfect. I made a great purchase! I love Afterlife; they never failed me. Was hoping to see Danielle, the store owner but she wasn't in.

I love the idea, but perhaps because of the re-vamping process this place had probably the smallest selection of everywhere we went. Some nice looking shoes, and a neat jacket (had it not been so bulky in the arms). That was all I even wanted to try on though, let along finding anything in my size. I might peek in some time down the road, but I think I'll probably keep walking.

Found this shop on by chance walking V-street one weekday afternoon. Fairly nondescript and could easily be missed...but once inside, man..what a jewel. Careful, hand-picked, vintage items in fantastic shape and in some cases, meticulously restore to their glory. The prices for these pieces are far beyond reasonable. Picked up a dynamite 60's Pendleton (one of their specialties) in my my size (XL!), a gas station attendants jacket and a blue alpaca sweater - all for well below a hundred bucks. Well worth a visit.

i'm a HUGE fan of this boutique. they carry well-priced, well-curated vintage clothing (mixed in with some newer labels) along with the work of one of my favorite jewelry designers: adoura demode (http://www.adoura.com). in fact, if i understand correctly, the artist behind adoura is also the owner of the shop and she seems like such a lovely person. she helped me and my mother once while we were shopping there, and was so patient about letting us try on every piece of jewelry and ask about prices and just generally demand a fair amount of attention. everyone i've met who works there has been quite nice, which is a key part of a five star rating for me. love this place!

They recently participated in my fashion show and contributed in a large way! They have some incredible gems and their vintage collections are amazing. Men's tees are pretty awesome and one of a kind. Check out the pictures and review from the fashion show on http://theavant-gardis....

New to the Valencia corridor, Afterlife Boutique sells "refurbished" vintage clothes for ladies and gents, and jewelery. Browsed the store yesterday and was impressed with the selection, and quality of the clothes. Moderate price-point, but for how well edited the store is, and how pristine all the garments were, it seems like you could find great deals for some really special pieces, and never have to worry about hiding a broken zipper, stain, or torn seam (though this can lead to clever and industrious use of accessories). Alas, I left empty handed, because it's vintage the skirt or dress you love never seems to be in your size, but that just makes finding your next wardrobe item all the more special when you do come across it--voila, clothing epiphany! I was particularly taken with the jewelry, and will definitely go back to pick up some of their interesting, ruggedly beautiful necklaces and earrings. The layout isn't too cluttered, nor too sparse. Usually I don't have the patience or inclination to shop vintage (I have vague memories of my high school friend taking me to Value Village, where she would find arm fulls of clothes which made her look both hot and cool, while I would spend the time wandering the aisles, wondering where that smell was coming from and leave empty handed), but for all the reasons above I'll make note of this place for future shopping, sure to get me out of a Powell St. rut.
