This was the first time I've ever used professional movers and, after hearing horror stories from friends, I was a bit hesitant. Wendell and Terry shattered every stereotype, however, and were fantastic! They were friendly, fast, thorough, and didn't break anything. They did the whole move in about 3 hours. I paid $85 an hour (not sure what going rate is) and, since they provide wardrobe boxes for free, I didn't have to worry about packing those few last minute items that didn't fit in any of the boxes.
I'd definitely recommend them to anyone doing a move out here in LA. -

The worst part about moving is just that: MOVING! I can handle packing, and I can handle unpacking, but when it comes to hauling large pieces of furniture in the heat of summer, it becomes a larger task than you anticipated.
We got the lowest rate for a local move: $89/hour for a minimum of 3 hours. This included 2 people, a huge truck with a bobtail, and unlimited use of clothing/wardrobe boxes (this is EXTREMELY handy when you have clothes on the hanger). Our two helpers (I only remember Chris) were very professional, polite, and fast! They did a quick survey of what they were going to move, organized the move, and moved everything into the truck in 1 hour and 30 minutes (This is a load of a 2 bedrm apt), and unloaded everything in the same amount of time. Note that they charge double during transportation. So if they drive for 30 minutes, they will charge you for 1 hour. I appreciate that they told me this upfront. There were NO HIDDEN fees whatsoever. They made moving a breeze!
I'm extremely happy with their service, and I would absolutely enlist their services the next time I move. On their website they boast having been in business since the 1980s, and all their movers are licensed. I only have great things to say about Affordable Moving! -

I used these guys back in 2008 to move my parents within Orange County. The movers arrived on time, were polite and professional, and started work immediately. The quote was fairly accurate, though my parents stashed more stuff in their garage than I knew to tell OC Movers about, so it ended up taking a second trip to finish everything.
When I got the total due, they had added a charge for the last half of a round trip from the new place to the old due to the extra stuff. I ended up calling the company and picking apart this charge and they agreed to waive it because they are very nice people that understood the circumstances.
I was really impressed with their customer service overall, and I would highly recommend them even though the cost is just a touch on the high side for moving services at $85 for two movers and $115 for three (I recently moved myself within the Bay Area, where cost of living is higher, and movers here were less than $100 for three movers). But I still think that this company is a great option for Orange County, and I already have another appointment with them in a few weeks to move my parents again... -

Front desk friendly and helpful. Movers came early in the 12-5pm time frame given. Two movers worked fast and accurately. One dropped the washer and refused to wait for other mover to help despite being asked repeatedly. Left 2 stains in carpet - front desk helped make up for the stains by taking a little off the bill. Lesson learned about covering areas that I desire to keep clean; these guys and I'm sure - are being paid to be fast, not clean. In the end, if it wasn't new carpet, not a big deal.

These guys were incredible!!! If you are moving than you should not go to anyone else other than Affordable Moving and Storage. I hired a 3 man crew to help me move from South Orange County to Pasadena. Terry and his crew got the job done in 6.5 hours and they were extremely nice and good with all of my stuff. I would definitely hire them again.

I have moved many times over the last 20 years and finally bought a house. I decided to hire movers for the first time. I was nervous about it because of horror stories i have heard. After much research, I decided to give Affordable moving a shot. Daniel served me. He was very professional and friendly. The movers showed up right on time amd they wasted no time getting to work. They worked feverishly and got my move done faster than i thought possible. The crew respected my belongings and everything arrived to my house in great condition. The crew was friendly and courteous. They did not nickle and dime me and my movimg costs were lower then i expcted. I was impressed and i would be happy to recommend them to anyone.
