I am a home owner with 3 AC units, all of which are really old. Needless to say, we awoke early one morning to a hot bedroom. Since its the end of August, and 100 degrees outside, fixing the AC is something we want done, today.
I called 2 of the "big name" companies that advertise heavily in the area and they were booked and soonest appointment I could get was 2 days out, or alternatively, for a additional fee, they would make an appointment after hours. Instead, I surfed google and found Affordable AC Services nearby. Called them around 8am and they made a same day appointment.
The technician Ricky had diagnosed the problem in less than 15 minutes, showing and explaining the failed parts to me. He gave me a choice, and all the facts I needed to weigh the options. Option 1 was to repair the old condenser, he had the parts in the truck. Option 2, was to replace the unit with a newer more efficient one. Repair parts and labor were about 25% of the cost of the new install. In my case, the new unit was the better option for long term savings, but I was worried that it couldn't be replaced same day... I was wrong!
The new unit was procured, installed and running before 6pm same day.
I am not an expert, but I know enough about mechanics, electronics, and thermodynamics to tell when someone is bullsh**ting me... everything Ricky did and said passed my BS detector. I liked doing business with Affordable AC because I felt like they were honest, knowledgeable, and fair priced. Inevitably with 3 Ac units, sooner or later there will be issues, when it does, I will be calling this guy back.
