Great service from all the staff - front desk, assistants, and the dentist.
Very modern and clean.
The best dentist I have ever been to! -
Review from Erica H.
I'm not a person who dislikes the dentist. I actually LOVE getting my teeth cleaned and don't mind fingers in my mouth and conversations being held with said things still in my mouth. But I sure loved my visit to this dentist today.
I called to set up a new patient visit and it was a breeze. They took some information over the phone and Sophia was very pleasant and eager to answer my questions. I was able to pick from a good selection of appointments, but the times are pretty standard. They don't have saturday or many super late appointments. I knew this ahead of time from their website. I was sent an email confirmation, along with texts regarding my appointment. Unlike a previous Yelper, I got a reminder via email 3 days before my appointment asking me to confirm it. Then I got a text 48 before, and on the morning of.
When I arrived, I was greeted and checked in very fast. They took me back to do xrays and such, and that is when I filled out new patient information. On a computer! It was nice to see that they aren't wasting a bunch of paper doing that stuff. I had my xrays done, and the tech got a list of my concerns for the doctor to go over. Unlike other places I have been to, Dr. Kollia came to see me BEFORE my cleaning. She discussed my issues and actually explained to me why I was having those. They didn't push a bunch of stuff on me when I told them that I wasn't going to be able to afford their reccomendations at the moment.
My cleaning was spectacular. I love the fact that they use that cool water jet/pressure wash style of cleaning your teeth. It's super gentle and fast.
Basically, this place makes it really pleasant to drool on a stranger. I am actually excited to go back! -

This office has all the "cool technology" but is hungry for your money....
I had heard great things about this place but have definitely been disappointed. Sad to say that I honestly feel that I have been suckered for believing all things they said I NEEDED. I guess this is my fault for thinking that all dental facilities are open for the health of their patients and not the sales. :(
I was told that I NEEDED a $200 bottle of floride on top of all the other fancy products they sold ( that are not covered by any insurance) I got the floride and the "free trays". They made me these trays and then gave me a root canal. After the root canal the trays no longer fit. When I brought this up to the dental assistant she pretty much ignored the idea of making me new trays for free. Nice- so now I have a $200 bottle of floride with trays that won't fit.
Also WARNING! They call the DAY BEFORE your appointment and if you want to reschedule they charge you $50. What is the point of the confirmation call if they plan on charging you regardless? I called and asked if there was anyway this could be changed without a fee or even another time for that day. They pretty much gave me the hand. As I couldn't reschedule my work meeting - I called them back and told them I was very upset about this situation and didn't understand the point of a confirmation call if they were planning on charging regardless and that I am done with this dental office. The front desk lady told me "that's fine- goodluck." and that was the end of the call......SHOCKED....i had to pass this story on to the rest of the office because I could NOT believe their customer service.
I then later received the bill for the cancellation fee. I also saw that they charged my insurance for the procedure. I don't know if that is legal for charging insurance for something they didn't do?
Bottom line- Don't be fooled by what they tell you.
There are plenty of other Dentist in the city that will be real with you :) -

I have no complaints about the dentist and technicians at Aesthetica. They do a good job. However, the whole experience goes downhill after I have to interact with the receptionist (the older woman). She makes comments that really grate on you. If you ask for a list of charges, she likes to point out how the office is paperless and how their estimates are good. Sure, it may be paperless, but as the customer, if I ask for a receipt, it shouldn't be a chore to print one out, ESPECIALLY when you've charged me incorrectly MULTIPLE times on different occasions. I also don't have the most fantastic insurance in the world; it is completely unnecessary to make snide remarks.

I guess yelp filtered my original long review on the root canal and crown work I had done. I guess they think I'm a robot for providing a lengthy personal review (which they suggest to do in the instructions here) - funny that.
I had a follow up cleaning today that I scheduled after the major work described in my previous review so I could also get a new mouth guard made for ice hockey.
I met Jamie, the dental hygienist who would clean my teeth. It has not been long since the new crowns I had done but she took a few more pictures as a reference before cleaning. Jamie then used some sort of water jet, micro power washer or something to start the cleaning. This greatly reduced, not eliminate, the need for traditional scraping which I thoroughly appreciated. I had never seen such a tool before, much gentler than previous experiences. The cleaning was pretty quick, routine and comfortable as we joked about Seattle weather and traffic. Dr. Kollia stopped in to say hello, check out the new crowns and to give a "Go UConn!" cheer after the basketball championships (My wife's family is from Connecticut, huge UCONN fans!) Jamie took some more pictures to make sure nothing was missed to document the cleaning.
Danielle, Dr. Kollia's assistant from the previous visit then came in to take impressions for my new mouth guard, always a less than thrilling experience for me with trays of what she described as "cake batter" tasting thick goop. The actual impressions were over in a few minutes, the prep took longer, but I'm not convinced it's cake batter. Danielle then did a fluoride treatment on my newly up to snuff teeth which consisted of painting on some sticky paste of some sort then I was ready to go. Another positive experience with a great group of people. Maybe Yelp will believe me someday.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Review from Faith Y.
From a girl who avoids going to a dentist like a pro, this review means something awesome must be afoot. How much do I hate the dentist? So much that I swear I haven't had the same one more than once or twice. I figure if don't hear about cavities, they must not exist. Yes, I'm 5.
The moment I stepped in here, I knew it wasn't the stark, cold dentistry offices of yore. The receptionist greeted me by name, happily snapped my photo via webcam and from then on, it was technology central. Maybe it's from a severe lack of regular visits but I had no idea that their machines have advanced so much!
Things that made me ooo and ahhh ... at a freaking dentist office:
- FREE custom-molded whitening trays for new patients. Yes. Please.
- Digital X-Rays that took quick snapshots of every tooth, my mouth was on a full runway show and they immediately showed up on screen
- Dental folks who actually explain all the photos and steps they're going through in layman's terms
- And an uber bubbly Greek dentist who's won a slew of accolades and put me at ease in a jiffy
Boy, did my research pay off. I think I might be sold on visiting the dentist ... at least twice a year now. That's a small miracle. -

This was the most fabulous dental experience I have ever had in my life. If you don't absolutely love Dr. Kolla, you must hate life! She is amazing! She really cares about your teeth and makes you feel extremely good about yourself.
Aesthetica does an amazing job, and they really do their best to make you feel comfortable! I feel so motivated to take care of my teeth!
People who have written bad reviews about the cost need to ask ahead of time to make sure. But what they did that I liked (and no other doctor has ever done for me), was they printed out a sheet and told me ahead of time how much everything was going to cost, which with my insurance was $0.
I opted for the special toothpaste and the fluoride treatment because I want to take preventative steps with my teeth. There was NO pressure.
If you want beautiful teeth, free whitening and a really pleasurable experience there is no better place than Aesthetica! -

My whole family has become new patients here within a week because this operation is so above par! The staff, technology and process was entirely high caliber and above anything I have experienced before in the dentist chair.
I'm really impressed and excited to be so educated on what is going on in my own mouth. I have the ability to make informed decisions about what we do moving forward. Gold star, Aesthetica! -

I just went to another dentist because my insurance changed.
He got two other doctors opinions because I told him that Aesthetica told me I had several (like 12) cavities and I had only gotten the top right filled so far. He said I had one effing cavity, the only one that I said was visible and the reason I went to Aesthetica in the first place. They hadn't even gotten to fixing that one yet. He said the "surface cavities" that they said that I had were beige stains on my teeth and that he wouldn't dream of drilling. I didn't even have any trouble areas to "watch" for future cavities.
He pretty much said 2 other dentists agree I got ripped off. I was taken advantage of because I hadn't been to the dentist in 10 years. They even told me I NEEDED this 600 dollar night guard that I totally didn't NEED.
I think they pay for all their fancy machines by ripping you off! DONT GO HERE!!!
Update: It is pretty sad that the business owner has to come on the internet and refute so many people claiming being ripped off. I still resent this place, like YEARS later. Read the "filtered reviews" if you can, as well. So many people have been ripped off at this place. and YEARS and several dentists opinions later, I still have NO cavities.. I think this place is all gimmick. Offering Starbucks cards to people who bring in new patients?Comment from Lori H. of Aesthetica Contemporary Dentistry 2/25/2010

Thank you, Dr. Kollia! I LOVE IT HERE!!!! After going to the same dentist office for over 30yrs, my new insurance dictated that I go someplace else. I put it off for so long because of my fear of trying a total stranger and trusting them with my issues of sensitivity, as well as my demands for cosmetic perfection on a budget. My teeth have always been my best feature (luckily, since I love to smile). Not only were my concerns about permanent solutions to areas of sensitivity met. all of my cosmetic concerns were treated as just as important and justifiable. The office has extremely knowledgable and friendly staff, state of the "art" equipment (seriously, you should see it), and they take my insurance (Tricare/Army) when my dentist of 32yrs refused. I have always loved my dentist, but I have to say.....I believe he has permanently been replaced. In all sincerity, I'm actually looking forward to going to the dentist now! I am moving 35 miles away in a couple weeks, but I will be coming back to THIS office for my dental from now on. Totally worth it to be taken care of like this. Did I mention they do free whitening for their patients? AND there's a $50 GC if you mention Yelp?!?! I'll have to post pictures after my pearly whites are polished.

I walked in to an office with a friendly staff; they told me that I needed to get my x-rays taken. (I agree they do have the newest technology that I have seen.) Dr. Kollia was very kind woman and I figured everything was going great! They told me that I had one cavity and that I would need a deep cleaning. Thinking that was what they called all their cleanings I agreed, knowing that my insurance covers initial xrays and cleaning. The doctor left and had another woman come and tell me that a deep cleaning meant that they would have to numb half of my mouth and only do one side that visit? What?! Not only that but a "deep cleaning" would end up costing me $145 for one side and $185 for the other AFTER insurance.... With ONE cavity?! What? When I refused they came back and reduced the price, $136/$59. I did not know I had to negotiate at the dentist. When I refused and tried to get basic cleaning, I could then hear them whispering in the back - as I sat there alone - awkward - the woman that took my xrays then came out and told me - they could not do a regular cleaning after all - just a deep cleaning. It was 4ish, I was there alone, I have NEVER had to pay that much - my insurance is GREAT - I said..No. I will go elsewhere for a better price - I kept ALL the paper work - with all the different prices to show the next dentist. After I said no, she said okay went to the back... I sat there wondering ... should I leave? Do I leave...Uhhh?? Finally I got up and left, no one was around or at the front desk - or anywhere.
This was in March, I wanted to write about it but I didn't... till insurance called.. I did not have not get xrays since I had them a year ago - fine, probably my fault since I did not remember - but $105 dollars later - it made me yelp my first bad review.
Bartering Prices at a Dentist Office - No, Thank You.
Below is a comment from the owner - I am not trying to be misleading - I have both "Proposed Treatment Plan" papers for the same "deep cleaning" service - not "basic". The quotes ARE different. I used the wrong word - negotiate. As far as the x-ray price goes- i had explained the situation. I am excited that I will NOT recieve the bill my insurance claimed I owed to Aesthetica for $105. :) - As far as leaving - I am not sure how long you have to wait in a chair... to even write about it on yelp - believe me - it was long enough.Comment from Lori H. of Aesthetica Contemporary Dentistry 5/20/2011

This place is top notch! All the staff are super friendly and genuine.
A little too friendly......At first I was kinda weirded out how they knew my voice when I called and looked so excited to see me for the 3rd time in a week. Slowly, I realized that they actually care about their patients and we just aren't walking dollars signs.
I have severe anxiety about dentist visits and Novocaine never really seemed to work. Dr. Kollia was extremely patient and always made me feel calm.
The office is full of neat little cutting edge dentist gadgets! If they had a gizmodo for dentistry, this place would be top ranking! -

It has been FOREVER since I've been to a dentist. I finally got around to making an appointment based on recommendation from a coworker.
What a pleasant (for a dentist visit) experience!
A friendly greeting as I walked through the front door, less than 5 minutes of waiting prior to my appointment, extremely friendly service for the nearly 2.5 hours I was there, and technology enabled dentistry at its finest. Explanations were clear and concise and they were happy to answer any and all questions I had.
Thank you Melody, Dr. Kollia, Synthia, Olga, Lori and Sophie for making my return to dentistry much more comfortable and pleasant than I expected. -

Dr. Kollia, Olga, and the whole crew here have done a great job of patching up my temperamental little chompers, which have suffered some in recent years due to grinding damage (not to mention, I believe, an inferior former dentist!). No one yearns to go to the dentist, but the positive attitudes here are really what make the place different and worth returning to. They really listen to your questions and concerns, and they don't do things like desert you forever in the chair with drool pooling on your bib and tiny voices in your head asking "..WHY??"
They also do crowns on-site. If you've experienced the cruel torture that is the ill-fitting temporary, you'll know this is great news. Their devices are really top-notch. and they will tell you how they work and involve you in the process too instead of just treating you like another mouth to drill!
Put it this way--Dr. Kollia is the first dentist I've ever had in my life who successfully inspired me to floss every day. I now feel gross if I don't. No foolin. -

A friend referred me to Aesthetica a little over a year ago, and I've been EXTREMELY happy with my experiences thus far. Evy is a phenomenal dentist. She's incredibly friendly and funny, and her positive energy actually makes going to the dentist not only tolerable, but, yes, even enjoyable.
The office is bright and clean with inviting colors and some nice contemporary art pieces. I also really liked how Aesthetica is totally decked out with high-tech equipment--they can even take live pictures of your teeth so you can see "before and after" pictures during cleanings or see pictures while they're drilling cavities. If that doesn't convince you to start flossing nothing will. -

So to start with, getting a appointment was very easy and the receptionist greeted me pleasantly over the phone and sounded very friendly.
So I actually showed up a week early to my appointment and to my dismay they said they'd see what they could do for me. This ended up including taking my x-rays, filling out my patient file, taking numerous pictures with their high-tech equipment. (Very modern.) They finished with a cleaning and a consultation for work to come and their payment plan is very versatile.
The whole time Dr. Kollia and her staff assured me that I was welcomed and didn't make me feel like the nuisance I could have been. They're a new dentistry but they're totally awesome and I will continue to come to them for all my dental needs. -

Since I have found Aesthetica, going to the dentist has been an ENJOYABLE experience. I know that they all genuinely care about the health of my teeth and I love the fact that it's an all woman dental office. You'll never find a better dentist or staff.

Aesthetica is an awesome, technologically advanced dental practice. A coworker recommended them and I'm glad he did. I'm actually sitting in the lobby as they are making my porcelain inlays. They make porcelain inlays and crowns on site which is extremely convenient. This is a very modern, state of the art dental practice.

I am an area Periodontist (gum treatment and dental implants) that has had an opportunity to work with Dr. Kollia several times treating patients. I can say I have been impressed with her excellent clinical skills, but also with the dental IQ of the patients visiting my office following referral from hers. A great sign that they are receiving a great education from their dental team.
I would let Dr. Kollia and her team treat my dental needs anytime! -

Absolutely the best experience I've ever had with a dentist office. Everyone is super freindly.
I set up an appointment because of some tooth pain that I was having. Not only did they take care of the problem, but they were extremely flexible about payment terms and about scheduling.
They really treat you like a human being, and not merely a set of teeth that needs to floss more. -

This place is great!! I enjoy going to the dentist now!! Dr. Kollia is the best dentist I have ever gone to. I wish I had her as my dentist as a child because she is so patient and so nice. She also knows what she's doing! The staff is also great and helpful!! I would recommend this place to anyone!!

Cannot recommend them enough!! I called in yesterday as a new patient with dental concerns, and they got me in that day. The office is lovely and clearly features the most up to date technology. The dental assistant (Sofia, I believe) was very courteous and helpful. Dr. Kollia is amazing! I have never met such a kind, caring and obviously talented dentist. She examined my teeth, and then explained my treatment plan to me. She was not condescending and truly made me feel like she wanted to help. The office was willing to work with me and potentially offer a payment plan to assist with my financial situation (rare for a dental office). I do not like going to the dentist, but I felt very good about my experience at Aesthetica. I would strongly recommend this office to anyone, and look forward to going there for many years to come. Do not be deterred by the negative review below. Given the experience I had, I cannot imagine that the information provided by that individual is indeed accurate.

Aesthetica has the friendliest staff and dentists that I have ever met. The receptionist was very eager to fit an appointment into my schedule and even called my insurance to figure out the billing process for me (before I came into the office and while I was in the office considering different options). The hygienist was very knowledgeable and thorough. The x-ray services and the entire office were very modern. Dr. Kollia was very friendly, skilled, and thorough. This was the most pleasant and painless dentist visit that I have ever had.

I am so impressed with Aesthetica! They are the most professional, thorough, modern and friendly dental place I've ever been. I initially made an appointment there because of their offering of free dental whitening for life, pretty amazing deal. :-) The receptionist/office manager was so friendly and amazingly helpful in booking my appointment around my complex schedule, she really went out of her way to ensure i could get in when I needed to. The dental hygienist was very knowledgeable, and easy to chat with. Dr Kollia was really professional, personable and seemed very up to date with modern dental procedures. In examining my teeth, Dr Kollia convinced me to have a few of my older silver fillings redone, and I'm very glad she did. It turned out that I had deep cavities growing under all of them! Seeing the difference in the digital pictures of them, that they took to show me both before and after she fixed them, was amazing. I have a beautiful perfect set of teeth now. :-) I really couldn't be happier with the work they did. I'm also a huge fan of this mouth guard thing that they used when doing my fillings, it very comfortably both held my mouth open and with this flap thing created a barrier to my throat so that no gross dental fluids went down it. My least favorite part of going to the dentist has always been the having to hold my mouth stretched open for so long as it gets so sore. Now I'm looking forward to going to the dentist! :-)
