Aesop's rules. Everything I've had there has been fantastic. Okay, that's a tiny fib, but a juicy lucy is a hard thing to get right. Especially because that's not their specialty.

Usually, my mom and I split a Reuben. It's so damn tasty. I am drooling right now. Like, not a drip of drool, but oodles--the whole Pavlov's dog shebang and everything.

The lady that is always working must be part of the family that owns the joint. She's so sweet and personable. Very Minnesotan hospitality! She has let me sample the porker before and it's excellent. So yummy and decadent! The soup is great too. I really want to try the frozen pizzas too. They look good.

    In short:
-The restaurant is kind of run-down, but to me that shows they would rather give their food a little more time than fixing up the place.
-The service is always incredible and the employees really care.
-The Reuben and porker are awesome. So is basically everything else.
-It's a pretty cheap lunch, too. The sandwiches are giant!

If you're looking for a cheap, quick and friendly spot to stop for lunch (they even have some outdoor tables setup) Aesops is worth a try.

I stopped by for lunch and tried the cubano and the smoked turkey sandwich. The cubano was pretty good but the turkey was really dry and not very easy to choke down. They should definitely have some sauce with it or have it in some tasty juices. Most sandwiches seem to come on tasty ciabatta bread along with a side of (good) coleslaw and baked beans.

Even if you don't get your order to go it still comes in a styrofoam clam-shell box which I'm not a fan of; wish they look into a more environmentally friendly option.

I also tried a piece of their carrot cake which I'm not sure if they made it in house or not but it was very average.

One thing that was way above average however, was their friendly service. They have that down. Everyone there was incredibly friendly especially the nice lady taking orders and working the register.

Since the prices are so reasonable and because everyone is so friendly I'll be back to try a couple other things out.

Not impressed.  This place is for delivery and pick up only.  There are 3-4 very small tables where 2-3 people per table could sit.  Arrived at 11:30 am for lunch.  Did not leave with food until 12:10 pm.  They were busy, but seemed to get orders confused.

I have no idea what was in the middle of the Juicy Lucy, but it was not cheese.  It was gray (same color as the hamburger), slimy and looked like it was meat fat.  It tasted gross.  I was able to scoop it out and finish the burger.  A friend also had a Juicy Lucy with the same experience.  And, to top it all off, a third friend went with us and she ended up with a long blond hair in her food that could not have been hers.

Based on my experience, I will not be returning and I strongly suggest others not to go.

I had never heard of them until the Crowd Cut special promotion - then a friend of mine and I decided to give them a try for dinner. I was shocked by their good pricing. Our lip smackingly great/tender falling off the bone ribs, potatoes, and french bread cost just $6.95 and then a slice of cheescake brought the total to under $10.
They had a variety of large "salads" for just $3.25, and take-n-bake pizza's for $5something.
The lady that took our order was super nice/friendly and made me want to come back again.
So I quick logged back into Crowd Cut and bought a couple more gift certificates for lunch again in the future :)

I'm definitely checking them out again - and recommend them to someone looking for great tasting food. Though it's not a traditional "sit and order" type of restaurant, they do have a dining area and outdoor seating.

I had crowdcut coupons, but I'm considering going back here even though I've run out.

The price is good, the food is good.  With my $10 voucher, I usually got a juicy lucy (which comes with two sides), some deviled eggs, and a piece of cake.  That's a good deal even without a coupon.  The only bad thing is it's a little far away for me...

Aesop's has done the catering for Oakdale Gun Club's picnic for many years now and always does a perfect job.
They provide grilled steaks, bbq chicken and cold salads. They have a trailer that comes decked out for the grilling and serving.
Every year I look forward to this event and Aesop's never fails to impress.
    Great catering!!

Home cookin! Great place if you love meat and classic mid-west food.
Try the "Porker" pulled pork sandwhich, sooo good. Great lunches, friendly, fast and good prices. Limited seating.

My brother lives in a house on this block and I've stopped by here when I'm at his place. They are only open from 11-6 on Monday through Friday, but it isn't a bad place to stop in for lunch if you work nearby. Even if you work in the government buildings on the North side of Downtown St. Paul, you could make it in for lunch. It's probably an 8 minute drive from University and Lafayette. However, they do a lot of deliveries. I've never had them delivered, so I can't comment on the service.

They make all kinds of deli type sandwiches, but their specialty is BBQ sandwiches. They barbecue really good ribs and a pulled pork sandwich, among other things. Their sandwiches are going to run you about $6 a piece.

You can also buy uncooked and seasoned BBQ to bring home and cook yourself. I've brought home a rack of ribs before and they are awesome. I don't think that they are as good as Big Daddy's, but still highly recommended. Much better hours than Big Daddy's as well.

It's mainly a take out place.  I think they have 2-3 tables inside and 3 tables outside, weather permitting.

This is my fav lunch spot around, I would be a regular if I didn't work so far away.  Great Philly, the Porker is amazing, and the specials never dissapoint.  There is often a line out the door in the summer.  Everyone there is friendly and they really value their customers.  Order there Super Bowl Platter, it is a great selection at the best price around!

Don't overlook or drive-by this wonderful Deli or their Dinner Restaurant.  It is well worth the trip to the Dale and  Front area in Saint Paul.  Their Appetizers, Sandwiches and Entrees are impossible to beat especially for the price.   They also cater dinners/box lunches etc.  The Ribs and Pulled Pork are especially great!  They also have a dinner restaurant in the B-Dale Club at 2100 N. Dale Street Roseville.  My Favorite is the All you Can Eat Menu; Ribs which are awesome, chicken, The Porker, Tennessee Tacos (Great), Porker Wraps, Tacos, Chicken Wings, Burgers, Fries, Baked beans, Mac & Cheese and even Cole Slaw. They have great choices on their main menu even a $3.95 basket menu, and there is even a bar. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!  Try it you like it!  Believe me..... You will like it!
