Review from Maria S.
I'm not really into this kind of stuff, but I gotta admit, this store was pretty cool. My brother is a big collector of...well you name it. So when we walked into this place, he was in collection heaven. Place is well organized, has tons of stuff, and have a staff that are super nice and great to talk to. Books, graphic novels, records (yeah LPs and 45's) toys, cards, dolls, the list goes on and on. The back has a cool gaming room too.
I think you could take every store in the SF Bay Area, put them all together, and still not have a place as big as this. Ok, maybe that's exaggerating, but the place is huge! Wish I could transplant it in California. Good thing they do mail order though.
If you're ever in the Tri-Cities area, drop on in and enjoy the browsing. -

Board games, card games, toys (related to comics and pop culture-y stuff), collectibles, books, and yes, comics.
This store is huge. I was able to browse without having anyone rub up against me. HUGE plus. Have ya been to a game and comic store before? They tend to be cramped. I'm not the kinda girl who wants anyone rubbing against me unless they've been invited...and fortunately this layout doesn't invite that. It's so spacious you could run around in there.
I bought a card game called Wild Horses for my 5 year old 2nd cousin. It was $12.99. They had other favorites of mine such as Set and Pit, which always impresses me. Prices seemed fair, and I like the selection of used games as well. -

I go to Adventure Underground for the books and music. Great selection of used and new, vintage books, children's books, rare, and bonkers. :) They also have a vinyl selection that is nothing to scoff at.
It's hard for me to stay away for more than a week. The staff is STELLAR. -

Great little place we stop in once in a while to look for unique board games or unusual comic books. We recently watched the Jericho series on Netflix. They continued the story via comic books. I wanted to get them as a gift for christmas. Wasn't sure if they sould have them... sure enough they had all six! Great, friendly service!

I love their record collection. Where as it's not the biggest, they carry a lot of Indie records and the sort of music I like.
I think the game section here is vast and you could find the perfect board game here to fit your fancy.
The staff here is super helpful and nice.
Go here, buy a book, get a game, pet the dog, go home happy. -

After my go-to record store closed I went in here, and was pleasantly surprised to see that they had a growing collection! But this store has many more things. Different books (at great prices, mind you), comics, games, and odd little things. What I love about it is that my nerdy boyfriend can look at his comics, and I can ohh and ahhh over the records. Everytime I go in there, they have a ton more.
You are always greeted with a friendly smile and an offer to help. -

I was in Adventure Underground looking for a cool and collectible T-shirt so I took off my jacket and was about to set my big puffy coat down on the chair when the large, gray stuffed animal blinked at me and then stirred ever so slightly. I swear I nearly jumped out of my skin... I'm not usually so jumpy; maybe it was the drinks from Lee's Tahitian but how was I supposed to know that big gray dog sitting on the chair was real...
I ended up buying the Godzilla Tee with the Japanese rising sun behind him. Waay Kewl! -

I stopped by here to look for some games or something I could get a young kid for Christmas. This place is very diverse! If you took the time to look at everything, it would take at least a week and most of that would be going through the comics and graphic novels.
They also have vintage records, games, books, CDs, and yes the shaggy grey horse! Or was that a DOG? -

I heart bookstores and this one is fabulous. Their collection is gigantic - you can find just about anything here. And Corey is right about the games - what a great section!
I'm not really into comics or graphic novels but if I was, I would probably live here. An endless selection that is complete with pop culture items like T-shirts, action figures, posters and more. Then throw in CDs and records and what more could you want?
This place is like the Smithsonian - way more than you could possibly explore in one visit. So keep going back! -

Best new business to come to Richland in ages. This is the independently run store that I had dreamed of since I was a child. Books, comics, games, CDs, records, and gigantic friendly dogs. Had this place existed when I was 13, I would have probably lived there. Whenever I pass through the Tri-Cities these days, I always make sure to stop by for a few minutes... even if it's just to look around and sigh.
I love you Adventures Underground. Richland deserves a place like you, and I hope you stay around forever. -

So many people here have described it so well...I just wanted to add my vote:). This place is *wonderful.* I have never in my life seen so many shelves of graphic novels, and that's just PART of the store.
Bookworms, gamers, comic geeks...your sanctuary is here. -

Finally made it to one of the Uptown's coolest new places. This store has a hodge podge of cool things. While listening to unique music in the background, (I'm pretty sure they were playing They Might Be Giants---and this is the Tri-Cities!) one can browse their decent selection of new and used books. That's just the tip of the ice berg though.
If you're looking for card and board games (all games not "video"!), this place reins in spades. They have a selection of surprisingly cool used CDs (they must have a "cool-music vetting program"). They also have a selection of LPs as well. And if you like comics, this place has a huge section dedicated to the standards and hard to find ones. Or if you're "above that", they have a HUGE selection of graphic novels.
Oh yeah, there is also a big black & gray-haired dog sitting on one of the chairs as you walk in.Listed in: Richland's Uptown Joints

I've seen this place for months and have been meaning to go in, but didn't make it until last night. I struggled a bit with setting the categories, and I think that I made a decent choice. It's hard to pigeon-hole this place, since there are so many different things here.
First, I love that their hours are the same every day (10 to 8), because that's just easy for me to remember. Second, it's HUGE! They sell used books, comic books, new books, rare books, music, figureines (need a Godzilla?), art, and boardgames, among other things. This all includes the biggest graphic novel section that I've ever seen. Along with some of the most interesting categories that I've come across. If you want to know what they are, you'll have to go. To top it all off, their prices are very reasonable and affordable.
They've got a bunch of tables set up for people to play games right in the store. When I went in tonight, it was pretty happen' with a lot of nerds sitting around playing board games (NOTE: I say this in the most affectionate way possible--I *heart* you nerds!). -

Gahhhhhhh, I don't know what to say about this place.
It's amazing it's own little way. You are greeted by some grey, shaggy horse (some people say it's a dog, but with it's size, it has to be a horse). To the left, you see a set of people playing games. To the right you got some amazing books. Seriously check out the used books. I've found some super cool books published in the early twentieth century which are pretty bomb.
They also have an amazing selection of games, comic books and LP's. -

There is definitely some digging to be done in this store! From their CDs (which are a little outdated) to their record selection (AFI and Adam and the Ants and Aerosmith? Wow!) all the way to their one of a kind book selection, there is something to be found. You can never go wrong here!
They have a love able watch dog (or they used to. I've not been in to visit for a few weeks) who is always willing to be scratched behind the ears. The staff is friendly and helpful, always willing to stop and help you find what you're looking for.
The set up is a little odd, it's some times hard to find exactly what you're looking for. But how could you not love a book store with books like 'Meat Science Essays'?
I love AU, and they're always my first stop for low priced, great quality books. -

Ah, Adventures Underground... yet another weird and fabulously retro addition to the outlet mall. I checked out this place for the first time this summer and got hit with an amazing selection of manga and anime figurines--which are fantastic! This is anime nerd haven. They also have a section where people play games like Magic the Gathering and Mage Knight. Need a gift for a geeky friend? Adventures Underground is perfect. They also have a wide variety of comics, which I'm not particularily interested in, but they have tons of them.
I spent about an hour just navigating around, gocking at all the interesting books and junk. You can find stuff here that you can't find at Barnes and Nobles for sure.
Check it out if you're in the West Richland area and have an hour to kill. -

I've driven past this place a thousand times since moving to the Tri-Cities a year ago, and never thought to stop in because it didn't look like it would have much.
But I went in today for free comic book day and was pleasantly surprised to find they are actually a comic book mecca. The place was much larger than I thought, and it was filled with a great selection of graphic novels, comics, toys, card games, games, toys and much more.
I will be going back regularly now.
EDIT: 12/04/10
Just bought a new game (Cutthroat Caverns) yesterday and a nice book (Shrek) for the kids a few weeks ago too. I love this place. I've been going back every couple of weeks since I found this place. -

Lots and lots of books and space.
Had I remained here I would have begun a book club. I moved, tho' and the place has fillled with nicer rugs, friendly staff and even a couch and chairs.
Way to go! -

Any shop that has a big, shaggy, friendly dog is super cool in my book. We were directed here when looking for a Ouija Board for a birthday gift. Of course they had one. I think they have every board game ever made. They have a huge selection of really neat action figures from shows I've never heard of. This is the only place in the Tri-Cities to carry anything Tokidoki. They have tons of books, but not your mainstream variety. This is the kind of place the guys from The Big Bang Theory would hang, pretty neat!

Love this store. Tons of selection. Easy to navigate through the isles. People are lovely. Will order anything you need! There is a sub culture of fantasy gaming going on. A serious comic book crowd. It's just fun.
