My friend and I brought our boys (age ranges between 8-10) to Adventure Landing on Sunday morning.  We arrived just at opening and were the first people there.  Adventure Landing was offering half price on all their activities (laser tag, golf, go-karts, batting cage).  It was nice to be able to do all the activities without any lines.  Realizing from other comments on the age of this park, we were very happy with the condition of the place.

the biggest hit for all the kids (and adults) was the go-karts and laser tag arena.  We had a lot of fun.   Nothing special about the golf course or batting cages, but happy to have it available.  For first timers with young kids exploring the batting cages, make sure you pick the "slow softball" cage for the easiest pitches.

I wasn't impressed with the arcade.....very loud and expensive.

I would definitely come back again, but only if 1) the price was cheap...i.e., 1/2 off (or sometimes they have a deal of $20 for all you can play), AND 2) I was confident there would not be a lot of people.

This place was such a waste of time...and money! The games in the arcade are old and dirty, about 3 of them didn't work, I asked for my money back for one machine and just said forget it for the other 2! After all, we didn't want anymore tokens, we just wanted to get out of there!! The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting! So you spend $30 or so on terrible games to get a cheap plastic toy (made in china) or some candy!! Don't waste your time!

3 out of 5...great for young kids, however people of all ages come through to hog the games, etc.
This place is more of a hang out than for Gamers of all ages.
The go-karts are pretty nice, wish they went a few more laps.
I have to give this place credit for staying in business as long as it has. I remember coming here as a teenager, that says a lot.
I would recommend keeping a maintenance person on staff that can ensure that equipment is fully functional at all times.
I can't bash this company too hard, I have a brother that runs one of these for another state, he works his tail off to provide family fun.
Reduce your pricing on chow, increase the time of go-karting, keep the equipment running constantly, keep a staff that cares and you'll be golden in no time.

Its a GREAT place for kids (and kids at heart). We grown-ups had just as much fun, if not more, as the kiddies did.

There's an arcade, batting cage, miniture golf, laser tag and go-kart. There's fun at every corner of the building, literally.

I suggest wearing comfortable shoes. There's plenty to see and do.

Driving down Capital, you pass by a go-kart track and a weathered, life-sized giraffe (a la South of the Border). Stopping to check it out further, Adventure Landing is pretty much exactly what you'd expect to find.

This is your one-stop shop for putt-putt, batting practice, go-kart races, laser tag, video games, and greasy overpriced pizza. Like so many other arcade centers, it's so much fun for the kids that they don't notice it's all starting to get a little battered around the edges.

From an adult vantage point, you can see that AL could use a bit of an upgrade. Let's start with the lockers. You need lockers in a place like this, let's face it. Dads don't want to lug around your 10,000-ticket stuffed Spongebob all day. Moms aren't gonna play laser tag if they have to drag around their 25-gallon Coach handbag full of Kleenex, diapers, keys, who knows what (seriously ladies can you really even remember every last thing that's in your purse right now?).
Unfortunately, the lockers here look as though they were teleported directly from a roller rink circa 1987, and haven't been serviced since. Some of them are broken, nearly all of them are filthy. I asked for help finding one that was functional, but of the 3 staff members that tried to assist me, not one of us could get a locker to work, so we gave up on that.
Like I said, from a kid's point of view- who cares? From an adult's- pretty darn frustrating.

We checked out the batting cages, which look pretty standard, there was nobody in there when we were there so I haven't really got a review for that. The mini-golf was pretty generic. The kids got a kick of out of the animals/decoration, but the course itself is pretty low in terms of actual challenge, so I could see it getting a bit boring if you visited AL often. Fortunately there is more than one course to choose from.

Next we review the laser tag. This is a pretty fun little setup. The "pirate" theme is pretty weak, it looks exactly like a similar "alien landscape" laser tag I've seen recently, except with a few skull-and-crossbones here and there in blacklight-responsive spray paint. The equipment is obviously a couple of years old, but nearly all of the vests were functional, and  the kids thought it was a blast. You can get your score as "teams" (red team, yellow team etc) but if you're used to playing at the type of place where you get to choose a "gamer name" and get individual scores and stats, this is going to be a little slow for you. It's fun, not competitive- which isn't really a criticism,  considering you've got 4-year-olds going up against their siblings and parents!

To be honest I'm not much of a gamer so I ordered the pizza while the kids visited the arcade. They seemed to enjoy it and all the games appeared to be in working order.

The pizza-and-drinks combo ran us around $25. The pizza was nothing special (Chuck E Cheese-ish) and you don't get refills on soda. Honestly I didn't think it was that bad, but my husband said it upset his stomach, and my 5-year-old actually threw it back up (but I don't know if that was the pizza or just an overexcited/go-karts kind of moment, so take it with a grain of salt).

We saved the go-karts for last since they are right next to the parking lot and it seemed like a good way to transition into leaving. It's never easy to drag little kids away from a place like this! I will say the go-karts were probably my favorite thing. Exactly like you remember- the heat from the engine, the fuel smell wafting in the breeze, your butt going numb from vibrations as you careen through the turns- I especially liked that they had double-seater go-karts so the younger kids could participate as well. One minor suggestion might be that if you have all 7 or 8 double karts full with parent/young child combos, you might not want to let a couple of 13-ish boys loose in single karts at the same time. They tend to be a little prone to ramming into people, and I could see some parents getting irritated by their behavior, so maybe I'd advise that they just wait a turn and go with other kids their own age. It's really not that long a wait, and it'd be more fun for everyone.

When all is said and done, AL is good family fun. This place would be even more awesome if they would maybe re-invest some money into sprucing it up and updating it a bit, but if you have kids, it's worth a visit. And after the State Fair was just in town, I can even say it seemed pretty affordable in comparison!

For the times when you need a little go-karting or mini golf, or batting cages, this would be the place. Relatively clean and well maintained.

I bet this place was pretty good in the 90s. It's 2010 now and this just doesn't cut it anymore.

Disclaimer: me and my co-worker had some weekdays off from work and we used a http://Groupon.com certificate.  Two guys in their mid-late 20s at Adventure Landing probably didn't look very normal, but we actually did have a good time.

The best thing in the arcade section is probably Big Buck Hunter Pro (the $3 game--6 tokens for a player) and Ghost Squad (beware the quick action scenes... this shoot-em-up game makes you think). Definitely avoid Jurassic Park and the snowmobile game near it. There is an air hockey table, but unfortunately it doesn't tally every shot for one of the sides and there are a couple tears in the surface.

The batting cages are ok. Unfortunately, the only "medium" speed cage was tossing either really high or really low. It needs some tuning and some new equipment/baseballs. Come with your own bat if you have one. They require helmets with a facemask. Actually, I'd recommend just finding other cages. Maybe it was because I have been exclusively hitting softballs for a few years, but I rarely got a good hold of a pitch.

The mini golf courses are worn down and not terribly exciting or innovative. If you enjoy playing mini golf, then you'll enjoy playing... but it probably won't be anything memorable (unless, of course, you are amazed by life-size inanimate animals from the 90s).

The Go Kart course is probably the best part. My friend spun out on the course because part of it was wet, but other than that we had a good time. They let us do a lot of laps before giving us the red light. The karts are pretty loud though (naturally). If you have some earplugs, that might be a good idea... especially for a kid.

We didn't try laser tag, because we couldn't imagine it would be very much fun without a group of people we knew. We exchanged our last attraction ticket for 20 arcade tokens. The guy at the counter said they aren't supposed to do that I guess. Thank you, guy, for breaking the rules instead of forcing us to play laser tag (it had started raining while we there so a 2nd round of go karts and mini golf was out of the question).

Overall, not coming back. Maybe this place killed the little kid in me, but I'm pretty sure the little kid in me is still alive and this place just kind of sucks.

Adventure landing is the only place in town you can go to play miniature golf. They have 3 courses of 18 holes, all of which are mildly challenging, but easy enough a child can maneuver them pretty well. On Fridays and Saturdays the place can get pretty crowded which can make for an awkward golf playing time (waiting on others to finish their holes) during the day and on week nights however it usually isn't all that crowded.

In addition to the gold they have go-carts, laser tag, and a pretty sizeable arcade with games you can win tickets for playing and trade in for prizes.

It was A-OK for an old school mini golf place. I would go back because I still have to test out the other 2 mini golf courses. That's right the place has 3 mini golf courses, but they are small. We had a great time playing since it was a Wednesday and we were the only ones there. We may have played the holes multiple time trying to get a good score.

We also played in the little arcade they have inside. We totally sucked at every game and the skee-ball was a mini version, boo! Oh, and the machine that counts your tickets ate ours without giving us a receipt, so we didn't get a 2 pieces of gum for $5. Total Bummer!

Go carts were a lot of fun. Putt putt was just the right difficulty to make it competitive. Batting cages need some work. Going back for the arcade.

I've finally admitted that I'm in my late 20's AND I need an escape from that reality sometimes.  No, seriously.  I recently left work early on Friday the 13th because I needed a break and my good friend promised to take me somewhere for a surprise.  That surprise was Adventure Landing!  I was quite taken aback because I'd heard it was fun, but never been.  It's been ages since anyone's surprised me with anything too.  He sure is awesome and knows my personality well.

So we went in and I was secretly way excited with butterflies, but didn't want to admit it and I was good at not showing it although I probably should have.  It was like I was Tom Hanks' character in the movie Big!  We went to the counter and I saw all the fun options: laser tag, go-karts, mini golf, arcade, and as we walked around the room even skee ball!!!  I remember back in the day when my we'd go visit friends inland (I'm from an island on the coast) or up north and we might get the big treat of going to a place that had skee ball when we visited our cousins or family friends.  The joy and anticipation of those tickets coming out of that machine is still there!

First we decided to do putt putt.  But next to the putt putt courses we saw a set of batting cages!  Those are for next time.  We went to the putt putt course counter and opted to play two rounds.  I'll admit it's made for kids so I felt kinda silly, but I was smiling the whole time.  We posed with the zebras to take pictures, played in the cave on another course, and were just as stoked when we got a hole-in-one as we were when we were kids.  When you get hole-in-one you're supposed to get a prize.  The girl at the counter gave me a high five and I was confused...as a little kid would be.  Wait, where's my prize?!?  Oh, you get some coupons and tokens at a reduced rate.  Thank you.  :)  On both courses I got a hole-in-one so I got my high five and laughed about it.  I love putt putt and play almost every single time I go home to the beach, so it was nice to get that homey childish escape right here in the triangle.

Then we spent some time in the arcade.  We rocked all sorts of video games: virtual reality games, shooting games, Star Wars, etc.  Then we did skee-ball, shooting hoops, hit the duck, etc.  Collected all those tickets and went right to the counter to collect our prizes.  Everyone there was just as enthusiastic as we were.  As the day got later on -- as in when parents get off work -- the place started to fill up.  I'm sure during the "off" hours it gets packed and birthday parties probably overwhelm it, but it was a blast when there weren't too many people.

Next time: go-karts and laser tag.  If you have kids, take them to Adventure Landing.  If you need to PRETEND you're a kid, go to Adventure Landing!  You'll have quite a little adventurous escape from reality.  ;)

So yea. Adventure Landing is right by my house. And growing up I've seen that place go from its glory days, and then just down hill. In it's state now, the games aren't well kept, and its just kinda "meh". The laser tag, go-carts, and putt-putt is pretty fun. And the arcade is whatever. They don't have a HUGE choice of games, mainly just gun games. So if you have younger children and you're trying to keep them away from shooting games, this might not be the place for you. They have a DDR machine which is what I mainly went there for. So yea, its cool if you want to have a good time. Not the greatest in the world though. Worth at least one trip!
